Nempura - since you are a member of the Swem, please add to your character sheet languages: Tendril Benthic (which is basically undine underwater sign language). This is a highly stylized mode of expression, and I'm sure that your training (like knowledge nobility) would have included this.
Hmm, if Freya dies (not that I'm planning to get her killed) I'm probably going to switch to Illiya.
Their relationship is complicated, Freya sided with her sister against their parent's will, saying that Illiya should be free to find her own path in life, but she's still not sure she made the right decision. Especially with the way Illiya's had difficulty finding work. She trusts her baby sister, but is not certain she's going to make it.
Illiya, on the other hand, has an inferiority complex with her sister. She hates her, and hates herself for it. She's never found her calling, and fell into petty theft to make money. She lies to her aunt and is actually dreading her reunion with Freya. As the game goes on, she might get tied up in the crime families of undine, pushing her to be on level with the party. Probably a Rogue.
While the rogue trying to fill her paladin sister's footsteps sounds interesting, so does a paladin digging into the dark secrets of her own family. I have no plans to switch unless Freya dies.
I think I mentioned it before, but just so that it's clear what I'm doing - my policy is to bot anyone who hasn't acted in combat within 24 hours of a round beginning, otherwise combat grinds to a halt.
Let me know if you found any of my actions on Novalie's behalf unreasonable - I figured she would continue fighting to put the monster down, even if injured :)
If you have the time, I appreciate the gist of what you have gained (doesn't have to be a complete breakdown, but new abilities and spells in particular are appreciated)
+1 BAB +Fort/+1Will
Divine Grace +Charisma(3) to all saves
Lay on Hands Heal 1d6 1+(3) times a day.
Health +8 (6+2)
Skills +4: Diplomacy +1, Kn:Religion +1, Handle Animal +2
I don't think anyone else is going for handle animal, so I'll pick it up.
Okay, sorry for missing a couple of more days - we had an incident at work.
The long hours on Tuesday were due to a production outage (I'm in tech). We had been working to get the service to pass an audit by next Friday. The production issue last week triggered off another bug from another service that made things worse, including some data loss.
We are trying to fix everything by this Friday so we pass the audit. Failing the audit is not an option. That's why we've been working so many hours the past week. Tomorrow, we'll be waiting for a lot of data to transfer - so I'll have time to catch up.
Truly appreciated that you took the time to tell us. Sounds like a very rough time, sorry to hear it and hope things will be getting better through the week.
+1 Level
+1 BAB
+8 HP (6 + 2)
+1 Fort, Will
Skills: +1 K(Religion), K(History), Sense Motive, Perception
Spells: Protection From Evil (default memorization)
And the ability I've been waiting on :D
Fervor (1d6) (3/day):
* Touch a creature to heal it of 1d6 points of damage. Using this ability is a standard action (unless the warpriest targets himself, in which case it’s a swift action)
* As a swift action, a warpriest can expend one use of this ability to cast any one warpriest spell he has prepared with a casting time of 1 round or shorter. When cast in this way, the spell can target only the warpriest, even if it could normally affect other or multiple targets. Spells cast in this way ignore somatic components and do not provoke attacks of opportunity. The warpriest does not need to have a free hand to cast a spell in this way.
Now I won't need prep time to cast defensive spells to make Novalie more survivable.
I was originally building Freya to be more of a healer (shocking I know), but if everyone has access to healing, maybe I'll try branching to other things. I'll have to consider my options.
She's also more cautious than I initially thought, though it makes sense if Novalie is the reckless one that her friend is the one pulling the brakes.
I've had more luck in the past finding replacements by asking my players for suggestions first.
So out of curiosity, do any of you have a suggestion of a poster from another game around here that might be a good fit? It could either to be taking Iryani's place directly, or stepping in as a new PC from the village.
Let me know! If nothing works out, then I'll put a post on Recruitment instead.
I'm enjoying the conversation, so by all means continue!
Just wanted to say I love all your characters, and continue to appreciate the small touches of the language you use, your point of view, and interactions together.
Sorry I didn't mention it - I'm fine with full HP, etc after a good rest. I just don't like book-keeping. This is subject to change under stressful/bad conditions, but for bed rest full HP is fine.
I had one PM from a potential player, but it's been over a week since I've heard. They are still welcome to join (pending a character submission), but I'm also opening it re-recruitment.
Maybe ;p It's good to meet you all! Freya's personal experience with Sylphs is limited, and as a faithful family, she's not heard the best things about the godless. On the other hand, her brother Valen is a silversmith in Light. So you may have tangentially met her family.
