SPECIAL ABILITIES
=================================================
Racial
Human-Raised Forlorn—elves raised outside of elven communities—are accustomed to other races’ brevity of life. Although they lose the opportunity to train in traditional elven arts, these elves pick up a bit of their adoptive parents’ skills. They gain Skill Focus as a bonus feat. This racial trait replaces elven magic and weapon familiarity.
Questioner Investigator
Inspiration for Subterfuge A questioner can use inspiration on any Knowledge, Linguistics, or Stealth checks he attempts without expending a use of inspiration, provided he’s trained in that skill. This ability alters inspiration.
Trapfinding, Inspiration (2)
Perfect Scholar Monk
Flurry of Blows, AC Bonus, Stunning Fist
Traits and Drawbacks
Centered Having anchored yourself in your faith and your knowledge of yourself, you’ve made it difficult for others to dominate you. You gain a +1 trait bonus on saving throws against charm and compulsion effects, and the DC of any attempts to use the Intimidate skill on you increases by 1.
Forlorn Having lived outside of traditional elf society for much or all of your life, you know the world can be cruel, dangerous, and unforgiving of the weak. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Fortitude saving throws.
Pragmatic Activator While some figure out how to use magical devices with stubborn resolve, your approach is more pragmatic. You may use your Intelligence modifier when making Use Magic Device checks instead of your Charisma modifier.
Honored Fist of the Society
You have studied dozens of ancient texts on martial arts that only the Society possesses, and are more learned in these arts than most. You increase your ki pool by 1 point.
Meticulous You plan and prepare everything in detail, and aren’t good at improvising when things don’t go as planned. You take a –2 penalty on skill checks for skills with which you’re untrained.

10 Minute Background
=================================================
Step 1: Write 5 background and concept elements that you feel are important to your image of the character. These can be a concept overview, a list of important life events, a physical description, a personality profile...whatever you need to get an image in your mind. 5 is just a minimum...more elements are encouraged!
1) Iryani left his home very early, for an elf at least, at only 42 years old. He felt life at home was too hectic and he needed a quiter place to find enlightenment. Eventually he settled down in a monastery of Irori, where he found piece in knowledge.
2) Iryani is not a man of violence, but can be very demanding. His passive aggressiveness irritates people.
3) After many years of study it was time to go on and see the world. In his search a purpose, he somehow ended up in Vigil, where he took on a job as a librarian. He sorted, copied and repaired books and notes of the "Agency"
4) He's been there ever since and has seen hundreds of agents come and go. Never envious of their adventurous life, he observed and chronicled there achievements patiently.
5) He did pick up on some of there skills and trades nevertheless. It was unavoidable, being around them for 60 years. He even got fond of the new revolver that the agency is currently suppplieng its agents with. He wouldn't ever shoot at a living being, of course.
6) He is now [dice]110+10d6[/dice] years old and in the past was approached several times to back up an operation as a knowledge source and support character. Just for the fun of it and to pass some time, he went through basic training recently, too. And got his badge, which was a good laugh for everyone.
Step 2: List at least two goals for the character. At least one of these goals should be one that the character has, while another should be one that you, as a player, want to see developed over the course of the game.
1) Iryani values knowledge above everything. It may sound selfish, but he would like to be remembered as some woh had found long lost knowledge.
2) I want Iryani to have fun - his life until now was very boring
Step 3: List at least two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet. This will help me in creating plots that center around your character. I will also be creating a third secret which you as a player will not be aware of, so expect some surprises!
1) He once accidentally destroyed a chronicle about an important agent. It fell into a bucket of cleaning water. He hopes, noone will ever ask about it.
2) He does not know it, but he's not welcome back home, because him leaving for a monastery was totally against his parents plans and against any family tradition.
Step 4: Describe at least three people that are tied to the character. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. If you like, you can include an enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you.
1) His sister Caleena still loves him and they write each other letters regularly. She never told him about their parents grudge and just hopes, he stays away to never find out.
2) Hanna Hobbart, a Keleshite Halfling woman, is part of the agency's cleaning staff. They share a common interest for pastries and she is a formidable baker. They spend a lot free time and work brakes together gossiping about the new recruits.
3) It is an open secret that Ralf, head of archives, hates Iryani. He doesn't understand, why there should be an archive AND a library. He will gladly welcome any "accidents" that might happen to the current librarian and then remove this position from the roster and integrate the library's contents into his archive.
Step 5: Describe three memories, mannerisms, or quirks that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.
1) Iryani is a very patient man and struggles with any hasty decisions. He'll always call for an elaborate dicussion.
2) He can always be seen with at least one book in his hands or somewhere on his body.
3) due to his age, he has many memories.
