She continues to hold Radagsast's hand as he is knocked unconscious, the fear sparking in her eyes of the grave danger they are all in right now. "GROG! KEEP SMASHING!" She tries to shout over the constant yammering of the ebberation inside the room. "It is not your time, Radagast. Nethys wishes you to live this day." This time Yabatha is actually reaching into the creature's space so AoO.

Radaghast's reptilian eyes blink open as Yabatha's healing magic works its way through him. He looks up in confusion at the black viscus pool eerily suspended on the ceiling above him. A crowd of people is screaming from somewhere nearby.

**KER-SPLAT!**

And just like that, nine tons of caustic ooze comes crashing to the floor... and Radaghast.

Grogbot reaches the end of his club out to Radaghast's snout and shouts "BEAST!! (since I don't recall Radaghast ever introducing himself to the other party members) GRAB THIS!!"

Radagast Reflex save DC 13 (with Grog's aid figured in).

The ooze's space now counts as difficult terrain because of a hip deep pile of ooze.

Several thousand pounds of ooze come crashing down completely burying Stormy's second companion (the dinosaur she doesn't seem to pay that much attention to aside from when he is in mortal danger).

Zora doesn't know what to make of the battle beside her. Looks sort of like some of those mud fights I saw the guards prompting back in the slave pits...

Zora takes careful aim at one of the thing's hundred eyes. The eye pops like a zit as the stone hits, but to her horror the thing creates a ringe of tiny eyes out of the crater of the large ruined one. It stops shrieking and giggles. Its eyes grow comically wide then narrow in on Zora. Immune to precision damage.

One of its grinning mouths hocks a loogie her way. Then cheering, it rolls along the floor at her, salivating fiercely, leaving a trail of slime in its wake.

Watching with the eyes on that side of the--pile(?) the thing opens about a dozen mouths stretching one set of teeth out far enough to snap at the dinosaur as it rises.

The thing seems to flow around her hands as she stabs at it as if it could see where the strikes were coming from. All the while that Zora is stabbing it parts of it are leering at her, and licking the flesh around its mouth-holes.

Oh no! DR! And flanking doesn't seem to bother it either. While she did connect one, the monster is immune to flanking, and stabbing doesn't seem to hurt it in the least coming from Zora.

Grogbot whacks it on the side with his club, which I am just going to say he upgraded from the broken wreck of the dinosaur display.

club power attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 hit

It hits with a satisfying **KER-SPLAT!** that wobbles the tower of eyes, and teeth like jelly.

It goes to spit in his eye. He swings his dino bone at it again, misses and takes a face full of something worse than grapefruit juice blinding him.

It appears to be neither. The door opens upon a dark, vaulted chamber that seems to serve as the museums scriptorium, a place where texts may be read or copied at leisure. Bare wooden shelves, empty except for some extra writing supplies (sheets of parchment, bottles of ink, and quills), line the eastern wall, and three desks with high stools stand in the center of the room between six columns. A small sign on the southern door reads “Archives—Private.”

A body lies slumped in the southwestern corner dressed in the livery of the Blakros mercenaries, still clutching a truncheon. Its legs seem to have been eaten away by acid, and the corpse is already showing signs of putrefaction, with patches of mold on the skin. A broken lantern lies next to the body, its oil spilled on the floor. The air in the room is thick and musty and difficult to breath.

He doesn't believe in 'game balance'. Gandalf always lets him pass. As a feat, he has Exotic Weapon Proficiency (beard). The city guard often question him, just because they find him so interesting. His dice bag is woven from tarrasque leather. His TPKs end game lines. His blood cures moderate wounds. He once punched a flumph. Yes, you heard me. He belongs to a prestige class whose sole requirement for entry is just being him. ♬ He is indeed, the most interesting GM in the world. ♬

The southernmost desk looks to have been used recently—the candelabrum holds the stubs of half-burnt candles, the a couple of the ink bottles look fresher than the dried out bottles on the other two desks, and there fresh ink stains the quill pens. A handful of books and scrolls, treatises on the solar system and the black, empty space beyond, lie open on the desk. Someone has squeezed a lot of marginalia into the empty spaces around the primary texts. It is all written in archaic-looking pictograms.

Marginalia - Ancient Osiriani:
Underlined passages in several of the texts, and the pictogram marginalia all refer to “the Dark Tapestry” and the “Dominions of the Black,” as well as something called the “Gate of Beyond,” a long-lost portal to these otherworldly realms. References to an ancient aberrant sorcerer named Kubburum Ishmedagan, and the mad wizard Ralzeros the Overwatched are also highlighted.

Stormy notes a scrap of paper on the floor beneath the desk with more notes written in the same hand (and cypher) as the other.

Slip of Notes - Ancient Osiriani AND Linguistics (DC 25+):
It is true! What I have seen in the child's mind, might be the key to Aucturn--or rather the door, and my own prison is the key to opening it. Must proceed carefully. For if I am correct, my "key" may spell doom for the gate should my calculations be in error. Careful. Must be careful. She has already touched the gate. There might be something on the other side that knows. Yes, I must be careful.

The rest of the paper is filled with drawing of a cylindrical container of some sort with lines that seem to connect it and some arcane symbols to a large circle that looks a bit like the item referenced in one of the books on the desk the Gate of Beyond.

Zora doesn't really know how the man died exactly, but there is a trail of blood leading from the northern door.

Anyone else doing anything? Also make sure your PC is where they are standing. Making a perception check from two rooms to search for something isn't going to be of much use.

It looks like I have found some important notes, but I cannot read whatever language they are written in. That might be a clue in itself. Can anyone read these? She presents the notes.

I didn't open the spoilers since I don't have Ancient Osiriani...

"All is as I have foreseen." says Viebot stepping into the room from the north. He casts a quick spell of comprehension upon himself and sets to translating, the scrap of paper and then once done turns his attention to the notes scribbled into the various books margins.

This all takes about half an hour. If you have any spell effects running please up date them as necessary. At this point you can open and discuss the spoilers.

"Why do wizards always poke their noses into these other planes? Always seems to cause more trouble than it's worth, if you ask me. So, who things this one opened a portal to something that has caused all of these strange monsters to attack us?"

Zora checks the remains of the body and surrounding areas carefully, looking for a cylindrical object matching the one in the diagrams.

Zora doesn't turn up anything though she does remember something Hestram said during their impromptu mission briefing.

"You are right Zora, wizards are no good, especially ones who toil with such dark powers." she sighs and shakes her head, "And what is troubling, is the fact that someone has already gone ahead and touched it. We need to make sure that the thing isn't active before we leave this place."

"Shall we proceed?" as she goes back downstairs and opens the room to the archives.
