Does Yabatha get to Grog in time?
I have Orc Ferocity???
If you do, (I'll admit I haven't checked) Grog can continue fighting if he wants to (it is not a 'must'). In this situation it would probably be best to take a short lie down. Checking his stats Grog has a Con of 14, so Yabatha has plenty of time (18 seconds) to stabilize and bring him back from the brink.
Once per day, when a half-orc is brought below 0 hit points but not killed, he can fight on for 1 more round as if disabled. At the end of his next turn, unless brought to above 0 hit points, he immediately falls unconscious and begins dying.

The party discovers a number of items littered among the gargoyles' remains beside the two large longswords. They also uncover a pair of fist-sized opals shaped like organic hearts, and nearby a small statuette of Vudrani origin. At least initially everything glows with a magical light to Stormy's eyes thanks to all the arcane glitter dusting the place.
Who's doing what?

![]() |

"Hey Nigel! We are sending Vie back to you, she's not feeling well. Can you make her some tea while we finish up down here?!"
...
After everyone is recovered, she proceeds to move over to inspect any magical auras. Using detect magic, and rolling below in case anything actually is magical...
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 211d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37
She stands ready by the door, "Shall we continue?"

![]() |

Stormy has a little understanding of spellcraft and will try to assist Yabatha. I am quite curious about that statuette.
Spellcraft 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Spellcraft 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

The World's Most Interesting GM |

Taking time (and probably 10 on the rest of her rolls) Yabatha can determine: the statue is just a statue (probably of one of the Vudrani's thousands of gods), the two heart-shaped stones are just stones--albeit made of something that might be a precious mineral, and that the two large swords are each large +1 longswords. By the time this is all determined Vie's haste spell expires.
What are other folks doing? Also, as a reminder, keep those 'current hp' current, wash your hands, and socially isolate as much as possible.

The World's Most Interesting GM |

Yabatha stands ready at the scriptorium door, while Stormy suggests heading to the second storeroom.

Zora uses her wand (with some help, if needed) to heal her large wounds.

Marking off 8 charges from 43
Then she checks out the door to the second storeroom.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

"Alright Stormy, following your lead." She wanders over to the other storeroom, and whit her team behind her, she opens the door.

The World's Most Interesting GM |

The doors open with a grinding creak, and Yabatha shines her light in revealing a large room filled with monsters of all shapes and sizes. Giant skeletons and stuffed taxidermic monstrosities are frozen in poses of snarling ferocity, while mummified corpses lie in sedate repose in ornately carved sarcophagi. As silent as a tomb, the air in the hall is stale and musty. The party notes that some of the human remains look a little rough around the edges....

![]() |

Not sure what that link is showing us...
"Do you want me to take a closer look? Or should we just assume these mummies are going to rise up and try to kill us?"
Zora seems a bit less brave after the close call with the gargoyle.

The World's Most Interesting GM |

Not sure what that link is showing us...
Mostly it is there for your party's velociraptor who might remember some of the exhibits from his last visit.

The World's Most Interesting GM |

The party stands in the light of Yabatha's hand considering their options.
Technically, the "hand" is not really a distinct object for a target-able spell, but I'll assume she has some bit of jewelry there that she could use light spell on, otherwise there's a torch-bright Yabatha walking through the dungeon.

![]() |

Zora inches forward, making sure she is not easily seen, as she checks for traps or signs of danger.
Stealth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27

The World's Most Interesting GM |

Zora inches forward, making sure she is not easily seen, as she checks for traps or signs of danger.
I'm gonna assume that means you first shove Yabatha's hand into a sack, or all of her behind a door, or into another room, making everything go temporarily dark in the hallway.
Other than the fact the room is full of inanimate stuffed monsters, and preserved corpses that might be millennia old the place looks fine. Not creepy at all.

![]() |

Ha!
Zora swallows the lump in her throat, and whispers back "OK, folks. Looks clear - come on in."

The World's Most Interesting GM |

Stormy casts Detect Magic and scans the room before following.
Stormy detects a hint of magic in the room.
What are other folks doing?

![]() |

Yabatha will follow Zora into the room, and if there is nothing interesting she will move to the next door to open it. "Question, does anyone know how they got so many of these larger exhibits down here? The stairs we came down definitely weren't large enough...curious."

Grog looks around the room.
Grog does not find anything else of interest amid the broken remains of the gargoyles.
However over in Storeroom 2...
The gargantuan dinosaur skeleton comes to life, and snaps its jaws shut on Yabatha swallowing her whole!
black bite v Yabatha: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35 damage: 2d8 + 26 ⇒ (1, 6) + 26 = 33
Fortunately, it is a skeleton so she just falls out of its fleshless chin all scraped up, and bloodied.

Stormy moves into the room, thankful that the doorway prevents the large skeleton from making an attack of opportunity against her. She swings her enchanted club, power attacking.
Club enchanted with shillelagh: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 11 + 2 = 302d6 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (1, 5) + 7 + 4 = 17
Its a skeleton, so use blunt weapons if you can. She recommends.

"Are you kidding me?!?"
Again, Zora disappears form sight as she slinks into the shadows, and then she sneaks around the dinosaur to get around his other side.
Stealth, hide in plain sight: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
She already had a blade drawn, but will draw a second as she moves. Unfortunately for her, this is a double move to get where she is going, but she should be invisible. If, for some reason, this foe can see her anyway, she has mobility so her AC vs AoO is +4, or 28 in this case.
BTW, I enjoy that you provided theme music! Hadn't noticed that before, but might start using that in my games...

Again, Zora disappears form sight as she slinks into the shadows, and then she sneaks around the dinosaur to get around his other side.
On the map, it doesn't look like Zora are going to be able to maintain stealth in the moments she passes around Yabatha (AKA the Small-sized Beacon in the Darkness). On the plus, side the thing is going to attack Grog so there's that.
black bite v Grog (AoO): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36 damage: 2d8 + 26 ⇒ (6, 4) + 26 = 36
The skeleton lands a grazing nip against the half-orc that would have killed many, many others.
Meanwhile, Stormy cracks it on the shin with her club.

Thanks! I recommend RPG video game fight music. Just play it (maybe on loop) while you post.

Yabatha, taking in the pain from the bite scrambles up her holy symbol and shakingly holds it up against the monstrocity. "DESTROY THIS THING!" She shouts as she tries to defensively cast bless on the party.

Yabatha channels the divine power of-- of--(Well, lemme see, character page, ♬ do da doo ♬, deity... holy symbol.... Hm.) Well, um, 'someone'. It's a god, or maybe a universalist non-denominational new age sort of lifestyle church--with young hip folksy bards who play guitar at mass, and no one can hear over all the noise anyhow.
One of Stormy's animal companions (the raptor with the helmet that she doesn't play with) rushes to the other side of the monster to set up flanking. The creature looks about with its ghost-lit eyes for a likely target to munch. So many little targets. It chooses Stormy.

Note that with her Barkskin Stormy's AC is a 25 and so was missed. Sorry I had dropped posting her buffs. I will start doing that. So I natural 1 or a 2 will miss her. Anything else the creature rolls will hit, which is pretty scary.
Buffs up: Buffs: BarkskinX2, Mage Armor, Greater Magic Fang, Longstrider , and shillelagh. Stormy's AC us 25. Shades' AC is 24.
Knowing with her enchants she is better armored than most Stormy stands her ground and continues to power attack. This is an abomination of an animal and needs to be put down. She whistles for her cat to approach slowly and try to contribute, but not to provoke. Shade unhappily slinks in.

Sorry GM, i am bad at keeping items updated on my character sheets. I should really get that fixed haha. Yabatha is a worshiper of Nethys, but not a very stingent one.
"KEEP SMACKING IT!" She holds her holy symbol tighter, "My robe is filled with many runes, to heal and fix my allies wounds!" and releases some holy energy on the party.

Sorry GM, i am bad at keeping items updated on my character sheets. I should really get that fixed haha. Yabatha is a worshiper of Nethys, but not a very stingent one.
No worries, I just thought it was funny that it was hard to find. (It's like Yabatha is ashamed or something.) It just seemed a bit like a person talking about their wonderful honeymoon, and never once mentioning their spouse. But the buffet--you should have seen the buffet! She's not seeing other gods is she? ;)

![]() |

Flanking the big bones with a number of allies, Zora sets to work trying to dislodge a bone or two. "Let's see if this does anything."
+1 Adamantine short sword, flank, 2-weapons: 1d20 + 11 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 2 - 2 = 17

Mithral dagger, flank, 2-weapons: 1d20 + 11 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 2 - 2 = 16
Damage: 1d3 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (1, 1) = 5

The World's Most Interesting GM |

The party hacks, and slashes, and bites, and clubs at the skeleton, but nothing seems to phase the undead goliath, And then Zora stabs it between the right calcaneus, and fibula (for 2 whole points of damage saving a random someone [Yabatha] 30 or 40 points of damage, and possible instant death!) the bones separate from each other as a wire somewhere in the thing's heel breaks, and the whole display comes clattering down on to the stone tile floor.
