"Didn't we send someone up to keep him quiet?"

Zora is looking a little flustered. "That thing was huge! And why was it animated and trying to eat us? The thing doesn't even have a stomache!"

Regrouping a bit, Zora brushes herself off and steels her nerves to move forward.

She takes a listen at the door marked "Storeroom 3" while the others are doing whatever they may do.

The magic aura is still present (see map). After three turns she can see that it is attached to a heavy metal shield covered in spikes that is being held by a mummified dwarf warrior still in his armor his skeletal hand clutching a warhammer .

The door opens upon dark and musty storeroom. The air is musty enough to make you want to cough. Yabatha's light reveals the space to be filled with boxes, and crates stacked in disorganized piles, some only a few boxes high and others reaching all the way to the ceiling fifteen feet above. Small puddles stand on the floor, and the occasional drip of water echoes in the darkness.

Given Yabatha's current position that really isn't going to be possible until Zora gets about halfway into the room (past those barrels that stick out into the middle of the room). But about that....

Stormy notes a pair of eyes staring back at her from above some barrels. The eyes are then joined by a wobbly toothy maw that begins gibbering. The thing's voice is joined by another and another and another. It sounds like a crowd dozens is in the room wailing and screaming nonsensical cries of joy, terror, pain and ecstasy. Then even more horribly everyone realizes the truth, The thing is just one flowing mass of mouths and eyes some of them appearing inside the mouths on the tips of the thing's yodeling tongues!

Everyone, Will save (DC 13) v confusion.

There's something else here too--a huge, dark, dripping mass that bows out of the ceiling above the western door.

Eyeful, toothy mass of screaming mouths - Knowledge (dungeoneering) DC 25+:
The unnatural gibbering mouther gets its name from its maddening cries and wails which it uses to confuse its foes and disorient its prey. This other-worldliness extends to other aspects of the creature's physiognomy, and relation to understood natural philosophy as well.

Eyeful, toothy mass of screaming mouths - Knowledge (dungeoneering) DC 30+:
Mouthers are hemovores and subsist on blood which they extract via their many toothy maws. Those unlucky enough to be engulfed by one are often drained dry in seconds by its many biting mouths.

Likewise, when your PC becomes aware of the huge featureless mass of goo attached to the room's ceiling you may make a Knowledge (dungeoneering) check and open all of the spoilers below that apply to the result.

Huge featureless mass of goo - Knowledge (dungeoneering) DC 17+:
This oozing blob is a black pudding.

Huge featureless mass of goo - Knowledge (dungeoneering) DC 22+:
The mindless, highly-caustic pudding secretes a digestive acid that dissolves organic material and metal astonishingly quickly. The acid does not however affect stone.

Huge featureless mass of goo - Knowledge (dungeoneering) DC 27+:
Black puddings seem virtually immune to weapons that pierce or cut. Such attack merely cut them into smaller autonomous puddings which go on to consume organic food and grow to huge size once more.

For clarification, I was withdrawing, not taking the Withdraw action, but I can see that I need to be clearer, since the goal was to provoke, and get grappled and disintegrated by the totally-not-a-black-pudding :-P

Also, I believe that I don't provoke an AoO prior to falling, since I never left my square, so I didn't move through its threatened area; however, when I try to stand, I will provoke, which means that is a hit, since I am 'effectively' AC 19, when you account for the Prone and Blinded conditions.

Not liking how this is going at all Stormy throws fire at the dark ooze for the third round. After her throw she pulls her club and advances.

The helmet is part of my armour?
Re: Other items, no.

Radagast, pinned, does nothing.

I thought I already missed my save, but maybe that was round 2.

Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Shaking the webs from her head, she now is confused by which of these monstrosities she should attack. Finally, she decides anything as insane looking as the eyeball and mouth fest needs to be hacked up.

Moving to the shadows among the crates at the edge, then takes a pot shot at the creature with her sling.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

He doesn't believe in 'game balance'. Gandalf always lets him pass. As a feat, he has Exotic Weapon Proficiency (beard). The city guard often question him, just because they find him so interesting. His dice bag is woven from tarrasque leather. His TPKs end game lines. His blood cures moderate wounds. He once punched a flumph. Yes, you heard me. He belongs to a prestige class whose sole requirement for entry is just being him. ♬ He is indeed, the most interesting GM in the world. ♬

Sorry the tailend of the week was a lot busier than I had planned for.

The pudding flows over the dinosaur nearly obscuring it under its viscus bulk. The chemical smell of the stuff's acid burning the skin off of your companion is almost too much to bear.

grapple (maintain pin) v Radaghast (aggressor): 1d20 + 16 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 16 + 5 = 28 constrict damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10 PLUS acid damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10

Meanwhile, from behind you can hear the useless blubbering wail of the other thing.

I did not see you resolve Stormy's last fire attack above. Does a 10 touch attack hit the ooze?

Stormy steps up and Power attacks the ooze.

Melee shillelagh: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 10 - 2 = 162d6 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 10 + 6 = 26

Release my brother druid! she commands while hoping Radaghast can attack it while grappled.

Yikes I somehow missed the pinned part. At least I am giving it something else to think about, if it can think.

club power attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 A threat, but like most oozes it is immune to crits.
