Working on it as fast as I can. Hectic time of the year as we all know. Also trying to compile every tidbit of information about the world - from setting to character creation to races and everything of that nature - so we don't have to keep referring back to here from every little thing.
Also, we've hit 300 posts! So ... yay?
Just thought I'd point that out. Not sure why, but I guess for me, it feels like an achievement that this is getting recognition of some variety. Just wish I was more artistic and/or had a LOT of extra time on my hands to sort this all out and get it compiled.
Its hard being the only one working on something like this after all.

Group 2, I also set up your Game Thread in what I think is the PBP Section if everything went according to plan. This thread will stay up as a general thread to compare between the two groups (OOC Knowledge) of course and for anything else generalized in regards to Aris or overall questions that the answer to might benefit everyone as a whole.
Think of this as the Shadows of Aris Pub. =P

Alright, everything is looking alrighty so far. Luc, you can take whichever hit points you prefer. I acknowledge the gratitude and all, but just letting you know that if you want to take the higher of the two sets, then go for it.

Severed, here is my completed background. I hope you enjoy it, and I took a few liberties where needed - it is completely open for revision.
Many moons ago, the House of Arkenstol gave birth to twin sons, both of which were healthy beyond measure. It was a miracle of sorts, for the mother had been on the edge of death the days before the birth, and miraculously recovered postbirth. The father, a Sarth Arkenstol, named them Luc and Kyle, both prodigious and beyond the norm. It wasn’t until they were the ripe age of 6 did their inherent ability come to light.
Luc was always proficient in prayer, and held a small spark of divine faith in his actions, as though he looked to a higher cause. But this was overshadowed by his jealousy, for his brother Kyle had the ability to cast magical effects. They were grandiose, and caught many an eye from his father’s aides and the people in his community. He was given an award for participating in a contest that most apprentices take, yet showed superb handling of arcane. This hardened Luc’s heart to the world’s desires, and his faith began to turn sour.
It was later around the age of thirteen, he heard a voice, echo to him in his prayers before a harvest moon. The voice was old, and echoed of great power – and a man in a clean outfit that most would call a suit, very different from normal noble attire, walked out and put down a blank piece of paper. He spoke to Luc frankly, as though he were an old friend.
“My boy, I have watched you, heard you, and felt your roused emotions as they continue to fuel your fire. There is something I wish to offer you, Luc Arkenstol – a pact, from which you are bound entirely in my service. There are many benefits we can speak of later, but first you must pledge service to see any of them.”
Luc thought hard about this, and read over the long document. It would bind him, and upon his soul’s vanishing, he would go to a different form of service for this man, or being. It was here he looked up, and asked a question.
“What is thy name?”
“I am known in many names, but your people have called me Lucavi, and I can bring you to an equal stand as your brother in all ways, and perhaps aid you to surpass him – for I have many plans, and you could be a key in them, if you so choose.”
Now this deity, since he knew of those things, offered him this contract another time. Luc looked it back over. That meant he, and Lucavi, were both bound by this deal to the limits and openings of said deal. Here he signed with his blood, and looked to the Pactmaker, and gave a smile.
“By the limits of this contract, I will serve in your name as your servant, powerful Lucavi. Only upon my death, if I have not been revived in seven days, I will go to your domain in servitude for further aid. In return, you will grant me benefits to outdo my brother, and whatever
else within reason. I agree to these terms.”
“You are wise to speak in such manners, Luc Arkenstol. I also agree to these terms, and look forward to the day you undo your weakness.”
It had been many years since that day. That month he was squired into an order of knights, and put on a famous knight’s watch. That man’s name was Claudius Varro, and was known for his nobility and honor. Luc studied many years under this man, and was known wide and far for the exploits the two of them were capable of doing. When Luc was knighted, he was granted the opportunity to join the Templarate of Caelum, and took it without question. Four days after the knighting, Claudius died from disease.
Meanwhile, his brother Kyle, had become an accomplished magician, and still gained more and more envy and authority, soon becoming a ranked arcanist in society. He had grown in his own power, but the two had shifted paths by this point in life, leading each to their own ends.
Throughout his life until this point, Lucavi had meddled lightly. He ensured that his guise was made, and granted him skill in tongue to accomplish the goals of the man, no longer the boy, and his own – for the will of the gods is mysterious and divine to all. As far as Luc could tell, his new powers and his divinity was for a greater purpose – for the contract did not say the intention of the actions had to be in darkness or light, and tread his path carefully as a result.
Mind doing hp rolls for me as well Ronin? And is there still room for Glorf? He's been slacking hard on the whole putting his character up, but I'm getting him to do that right now.
Actually, considering he still hasn't posted after our discussion last night, I'll just assume he really isn't interested. I would still like those hp rolls though.

The beginning of Tristan's story starts nine months before his birth when a group of undead hunters snuck into the keep of a known Vampire lord. They had planned their move perfectly they took out the human guards on the outside silently as well as the skeletal on the inside. The only problem was the Lord of the keep had known they were planning this from the start one of the men of the group was a traitor and seeked immortality. When they reached his main room they found him lounging in a chair one leg thrown up over the arm of his chair. The naked bodies of numerous female corpses scattered on the floor from his feeding.
"I had been wondering how long it would take you all to get here."
He said as he remained seated seemingly unnerved by the three men and one women named Igraine standing before him.
"Kyle do be a dear and help me with this problem." He said to one of the three men. "What is this bast.. One of his ex-allies asked before his question was cut of in a gurgle of blood as the traitor's blade plunged into his throat.
The remaining man and the women both fought Kyle and it seemed as if they would win until the Vampire came behind the remaining man Brandon and brought his large greatsword down and cleaved him in half. Well that was entertaining, now for the main course. He said with a wicked smile and a hungry look in his eye as he dropped the blade and slammed his fist into the side of the woman's face.
When she finally awoke she noticed three things; one she was no longer in the keep, two she was naked, and three she was pregnant. Well it didn't take long to realize what that bastard had done to her rather than kill her he had left her with an abomination growing inside her. She had heard of this type of creature but had never believed it could actually be done.
It was then in some dark dank cellar she decided to use the creature growing inside her to hunt and the kill the bastard responsible. First Kyle and then the Vampire Mordred. She spent the nine months of her pregnancy in hiding while gathering information on Kyle and Mordred. When Tristan was born he had a full set of stark white hair and piercing red eyes...just like his father...Igraine thought with contempt.
Tristan was always trying to get his mothers affection excelling at every task she presented to him, but she only treated him with scorn and resentment. She taught him how to fight, how to hunt, and most importantly how to kill. His one friend was the tiger cub he had rescued when he was 12 he was amazed that his mother let him raise the cub at all. When he turned 15 she left to find Kyle and finally kill him. She never returned. Since then Tristan has hunted those who should no longer exist those who have escaped Karone's embrace.
When he turned 19 he met an elven bard named Aira who for what ever reason seemed to be interested in a pitiful wretch like him. When they first met she was being backed into a corner by some lowlife thug who couldn't take no for an answer. Just as Tristan reached them he heard a loud bang and watched as the thug slumped to the ground dead with a bullet between his eyes. Can I help you? She asked he green eyes sparking in the dim light of the alley as she calmly steps over the corpse and loads another bullet into her gun. I heard the commotion and was trying to help. He said staring into her jade green eyes. Could I be so bold as to buy you a drink.. He said somewhat hesitantly. Completely entranced by this beautiful women.
It didn't take long into their conversation for him to realize that not only was she attractive but her mind was just as beautiful if not more. When he told her what he was and what he did rather than be appalled or frightened she did the strangest thing she grab him and kissed him on the lips then held him close.
Soon after the two married and since then they have been traveling hunting for any information about Kyle, Mordred, and now Tristan's mother Igraine. They are currently headed towards the Grand Hall of the Arisan High Council, in the city of Ren in hopes that their may be someone their who can shed some light on what had happened to his mother.

I basically figured everyone was still doing stuff for the holidays. I check this thing just about every day, as far as the game goes I guess we need to be moved out of the city? Unless someone has something they need to do, but from what I understand it sounds like we are in agreement to move on.
But I am in no rush, enjoy the break while you can I say.

Get a concept going and if an opening opens up, you're in. Just as soon as your concept is done, I'll let you know whether or not you're good to go.
Also, guys, I'll be updating a few things soon. If anyone's up for helping let me know and we'll see what we can work with. I know a few of you have already shown interest, so that'd be awesome all around if you did. Trying to compile something along the lines of "Players Guide to Aris" or "The Arisan Compendium" with a whole slew of material from my world.
Also, will be updating the playable races as well. New firearms rules will be coming out soon based on something more broken down and streamlined that I found which breaks the guns down into various categories. I rather like it all. Anyways! I'm done ranting for now.
Like I said in my email just let me know what you need me to do and I'll help. Sent you an email for some ideas, also excited about what changes you are doing to the firearms since that may be one of my favorite parts.
Been very busy on my end. Hopefully I can resume posting soon.

Also Iron Kingdoms has a pretty good firearms system setup, at least for the firearms portion of it.

Yeah it was sad that didn't get any further =/ although I felt like I was somewhat disruptive when we first started. I was still really new to the concept of Pbp's around that time. Although I have gained a lot more experience since then~

Good luck on your first battle Group 2
Ok anyone who wants to make a request can make one at any time now for me to draw their weapons and possibly character for this rp. Can't promise the characters will look great, but I can say the weapons will look good currently working on Aria's weapons and mine and can do anyone else's who wants them done for no charge of course. :) Also Ronin would it be alright for Aria's gun to have a short dagger blade attached to the bottom of the barrel?
I'd like to take you up on this if you have the time. I have been looking for a while, and haven't been able to find anything really great to use as a character pic.
Almost everything I find for a sorcerer or a wizard is way to vibrant and gaudy. I'd like Draig to look more like a wonderer than a wizard especially since Ren has strict laws against magic practice, society seems to frown on it because its blamed for a great disaster, and its better to keep it a surprise if he needs to use it.
Draig is an elf from the desert lands of Kri to the north. He spent most of his young (for an elf) life with his tribe on the road in a trading caravan. He is already experienced with adventuring and scouting parties, and seen battles where not everyone made it.
When Group 1 was starting it looked like a evil campaign and slowly moved to neutral, so I imagined Driag dark and gritty I'd like him to look rugged and windswept like hes been on the dusty roads a long time. Hes not so much a knight in shining armor, he is one that survives and loves travel. He has seen many lands, from the Awnyan Mountains to the Evriel forest and even into the southern lands. Not quite sure what the tribes trade range is, but if it went there so did he. He was hunted by the law, recovered, and crossed the Division bay to return to Ren; with his own secrets as to how.
I image him in the Explorer's Outfit, with the wide brimmed hat for weather. If you want maybe a cloak, but I'm not really going for the wizard robe thing.
Weapon of choice isn't that important, but I'd pick a quarterstaff for a good walking stick, or a longsword if its handy; maybe tucked away or on his side.

Here in the next few days, I'll be redoing the Photobucket where all of our Maps and pictures are posted, so many of the links may break. I'll also be working on the other site so if anyone is up for helping let me know.
I know Tristan and Mac have already volunteered, so if you're still up for it let me know here.
Be sure to find your respective group for the follow through of your battles. Once each battle is over, as with Group 1, I'll post those back into a Sub-Album separated via what battle it was. The Sub-Album listings are on the right side if you weren't already aware of it.
