Hi, just joined in the spare seat, what do we need in terms of class? Happy to make literally anything.

We don't seem to have a skill monkey so I'm currently thinking Opertive but let me know if anyone has a preference.

As for Stuart, play whatever you feel most comfortable with. The party seems fairly well rounded, and I'd rather have you play a character you enjoy than one designed to fill a hole, especially at this subtier.

Ironing out some last minute organizational issues, cabinet reshuffles, flipped bits, and toggled relays. But for the meanwhile it looks like we are as follows...

With regards to starship roles, Vecro as a melee Solarian is pretty much useless ;) Meaning, he can be a Captain (+6 Diplomacy, +6 Intimidate) or a Gunner +3 to hit.

From what I see below are the modifiers for all PC's:

Pilot: Surge +8, Andromeda +7, Helios +7
Captain: Surge (+9 Dipl, +7 Intimidate), Vecro (+6 Dip, +6 Intimidate)
Engineer: Helios +8
Science Officer: Helios +8
Gunner: Surge +3, Andromeda +2, Ardoc +5, Helios +2, Xaric +3, Vecro +3

Given that we have some odd shaped PC: mystics and solarian ;) I propose what follows:

Engineer & Science Officer: Helios - he is the only one, so can swap between those seats
Captain: Surge (better bonuses than Vecro)
Pilot: Andromeda (As Surge and Helios are occupied).
That leaves us with:
GUnners: Ardoc, Xaric and Vecro

Given the above, we should pick a ship that can accommodate 3 gunners.

works for me. if we go with the drake it has a turret and missile launcher (limited ammo) that can shoot in all directions. the sunrise maiden has a total of 5 guns, though her best is the turret and aft. so, gotta keep the other ships behind her for best damage potential.

love the maiden, ardoc in the turret ill fire from wherever

The problem with maiden is that in every round max 2 people can shoot. On Drake you can shoot for 5 rounds using 3 gunners. What I mean by that is that one of gunners will not participate of we stick to maiden.

i'm fine with whatever ship we pick. :)

pegasus and maiden grant +1 to 2 checks per round plus +2 computers and +1 piloting
drake grants +1 to 3 checks per round.

statwise, the maiden is slightly better in a couple spots, but i will say, the damage on her guns IS lower on average than the other two ships as well. the turrets are 3d6 vs the drake with 4d4 and 4d8 (missile) or the pegasus with a 4d4

I will write it again, for us to take Maiden we need to find one person that is willing to not participate at all in space combat. In Maiden, we can only staff 5 positions making one person useless.

Unless someone volunteers for that noble and boring place I suggest we go with Drake. We have a back-up for every position beside engineering and science officer (so Helios you can't volunteer for not taking part). Everyone else can take one for the team, pick Maiden and don't participate.

I want to take part (even thou my rolls makes me useless) so I vote for Drake.

np np. part of slotting the Maiden boon is that the whole table has to agree to use it. so, if vecro is saying no, the maiden is not an option to use.

i just hope our pilot rolls well. with only a front gun for that 3rd seat, we will need to make sure the front is pointed toward at least one enemy on the field.

Actually gyrolaser has a broad arc property allowing it to be shot on the adjacent arcs with -2 penalty. So it can still be used.

i personally prefer a faster ship with the static bonuses, so i'm voting pegasus, but majority can decide. i'm happy to roll my dice either way.

My preference would be pegasus.

I'm partial to the Drake because of its overall better damage potential (with the rockets and the broad arc meaning that we can get off a maximum of three attacks in a turn compared to the Pegasus' two) and better HP, but really whatever's fine.

I prefer the pegasus, faster and more maneuverable

Not feeling so great tonight, but you narrowly managed to get a success without getting into a firefight. You will lose certainly be involved with a starship combat sooner or later in this special however so i encourage you to iron out your ship and roles. I'll update tomorrow, but for now decide what mission you'd like next.

That happens a lot to me too, but this time it didnt show up for an hour, so I finally made a second post (the one that's just ...) and the old one finally showed up.

So, about the ship, I think the majority was for the Pegasus?

Drake is the only ship that allow us to use 3 gunners every round, well until we have ammo for the torpedo launcher. And we have 3 gunners whether we like it or not.

I liked the pegasus better, i dont mind not being a gunner in combat
