In addition, you are treated as if you possessed the Technologist feat for the purposes of resolving checks associated with that skill. If you gain the Technologist feat, your trait bonus for the selected skill increases to +3.

Bully: You grew up in an environment where the meek were ignored and you often had to resort to threats or violence to be heard.

Benefits: You gain a +1 trait bonus on Intimidate checks, and Intimidate is always a class skill for you.

Skills: Climb +4, Handle Animal +4, Intimidate +5, Perception +5, Survival +5

greataxe, longbow, 5 arrows, scale mail

--------------------
Special Abilities
--------------------
Rage 6/round, +4 STR & CON, +2 HP, +1 Will Saves, -2 AC, fast movement

Role:
My character will be a typical damage dealer, dealing damaged with her axe while taking damage so the others won't have too. I will likely get Improved Sunder and Improved Critical to improve damage. As for rage powers, I will get Surprising Accuracy to increase my chances of hits as well as Powerful Blow for extra damage. Basically improving her damage and chances of hitting.

Background:

Spoiler:
A child of the River Kingdom through and through, Melissa experienced first hand the lawlessness that the area can bring. Born in result of a tryst between bandits, her mother only reluctantly did enough to raise her up. In the very least, she grew up to be a hardy woman.

She was used as the woman to scare victims into giving thieves their money. On the occasion that anyone tried to fight back, she would match their fury 10-fold with her greataxe, an item she has carried since the age of 13.

Yet through all of this, she learned to appreciate the land more than her brethren. Her opportunity came when her crew bit off more than they could with a patrol. With most of her crew decimated, she took a chance and ran off. It was there where she found honest work as a lumberjack. It was a passion that she loved far more than pinching pockets.

Her redemption was awarded when she was chosen from Brevoy as help to clear the land. Melissa accepted the help, thinking it would be a new lease on life by settling in a new community.

Appearance:

Spoiler:
Melissa is rather short for what you would think would wield such a massive greataxe at 5 and a half feet. She keeps her straight, brown hair short and wears clothing that is comfy for her in the wilderness. Still, her stocky build and impressive tone of her muscles reveal her true strength.

Personality:
[spoiler]Melissa is far less boisterous than her past self, though she still enjoys a good drink and party. She is more willing to abide with authority than most barbarians, though she bucks the trend when she feels the law is restrictive. She has a soft side with other thieves and tries to redeem them, but leaves no quarter for those who refuse her offer of help.

DM Vayelan,

What are your thoughts on:
NG
Summoner (First Worlder)
Swashbuckler (Flying Blade)
Rogue (Sanctified - Desna/Knife Master)

NG is a great alignment. I think Swashbuckler and Rogue archetypes usually work well together. The First Worlder Summoner archetype might be interesting for the fey aspects of the campaign, although I will not place as much emphasis on the fey as is written in the AP.

While it is commendable that you have a far-reaching plan for your character's development, for the initial recruitment I would need to see how the character will start out, along with their personality and background.

With less than two hours left in the submission period, here are the candidates so far:

Ridge - Bydar Ledeba - Human Cleric (Shelyn)
Rorek55 - Arden Kain Brandt - Human Cavalier (Gendarme, Gallant)
Moonwave - Hyde Morrowind - Human Alchemist (Toxicant, Vivisectionist)
Escharid Blackrose - Hadin "The Pale" Cassoren - Human Paladin
Jovich - Christian D'Elgante - Human Cavalier (Daring Champion)
Amsheagar - Sibeesha the Bold - Sylph Wizard
ElterAgo - Gruingar de'Morcaine - Nagaji Bloodrager(Ragershaper) / Sorcerer
Torilgrey - Brandt Oluffson - Human Ranger
Brominate - Faun Daedys - Elf Druid (Treesinger)
Tilnar - Tordgandr Brokenfang - Half-orc Skald (Spell Warrior)
Patrick Levasseur - Orlog Brightshield - Dwarf Warpriest (Forgepriest) (Torag)
J Scot Shady - Kayalenta Noack - Human Cleric (Pulura) / Witch
Murph - Vera Ravenholdt - Human Witch
Ouachitonian - Pyros Aldori - Half-Elf Fighter (Aldori Defender/Steelbound)
MrStr4ng3 - Gal Gos - Half-elf magus (Bladebound)
Ramarren - Bexer - Human Summoner (Synthesist)
Helikon - Emyralda of the Bright Scarf - Ifrit Sorcerer (Elemental)
Ellioti - Shontar Hadove (w/ Chao) - Elf Gunslinger (Bolt Ace)
Ithe - Trunt Zecks - Gnome Mesmerist (Vexing Trickster)
Theasl - Grenia Mylemir - Halfling Cavalier (Luring Cavalier)
Patrickthekid - Melissa Silanus - Human Barbarian

Let me know if I missed anyone or if any information is incorrect.

Let's see how quickly I can get to the airport and through security!

Anticipation is mounting. Best of luck all.

Argh. The forum just ate my updated hunter submission. *kicks the "Page Missing" stupid error. I mean, I still have the Skald, but with the Feat Tax Rules, was totally hoping for the Hunter.

Crap, I thought we were starting from the beginning.

I hereby withdraw my application.

Ok, I jury-rigged this back together -- since I haven't seen something telling me that it's too late, I'll slide it in (hopefully) under the wire.

Missing the deadline, but will create the character over the next few days, in case you need someone in either campaign, as the games progress.

Keep me in mind!

Appreciate the offer, might work!

My apologies. I've got you added in.

Not to worry. My day job as a teacher has taught me to be understanding and flexible when it comes to deadlines.

If you can get the basic crunch and background of the character finished by tomorrow afternoon, I'll still include you in the running.

Background, Complete:

While Sibeesha is a member of the Brevoy Kingdom, not many people know of her little village on Claw Point. There were plenty of people in Cliffvile, a generic name for a town on a cliff. Fishers were the most prevalent, as they could easily fish on the Lake of the Mists and travel to Winterbreak to sell their catches. People had an easy, slow paced life.
Sibeesha wasn’t that much of an outsider, being an outsider by birth, she lived her day hunting, fishing and learning. The furthest she ever traveled outside of her village was to the peaks of the nearby Icerime Peaks mountain range. Though the mountains are not that nice to the unprepared or normal people, as the mountains can get foggy and cut off the vision of most people. Sibeesha was lucky, as her ancestors are part of the air elementals, Sibeesha has gained their ability to see through normal fog and safely guide people around.
She was hired to guide a group through the mountain, while guiding them, their group was attacked by a group of unknown assailants. Before she could do anything, her body was encased in a magical shield and veil that hid her from the attackers. The ambushers killed everyone in the group she was guiding. While she was frozen in place, the group went back the way that she came from, towards her village. After hours of being trapped in the fields, she was finally freed.
She raced back to her village, only to see a glow in the nights sky, to finally reach her village to find it burnt to the ground. Several people were roaming through the town, searching for those who could still be alive. She approached one to see what happened, the sailor said that he didn’t know. Their ship landed only an hour or so ago.
Sibeesha only knows what they look like, but not where they are from or who they work for. But she will hunt them down and make them pay for what they did to her village. Basically, a group of assassins were hired to kill someone in her group and to make it look like an attack from the next kingdom over.

Finally finished up the background. As a teacher myself, I am glad that I don't have to read many students essays.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Just to keep everyone updated, I hope to post the selection within the next hour or two.
It's simply been very difficult to make these decisions.

anticipation is hype

Good luck everyone. Looking forward for the results.

Good luck everyone, may the best dwarf win! ;)

Good luck folks!

*Crossing fingers*

The time has come.

When I say these were difficult decisions, that is not just an empty sentiment. This recruitment drew some very good characters with a lot of potential for plot hooks, roleplay, and influence upon the nascent kingdom.

At last, my selections for this game are.....in a spoiler, for maximum dramatic effect:

Our Cast of Characters:

Lord Christian D'Elagante, played by Jovich
Bydar Ledeba, played by Ridge
Mister Haane Pinkjaw, played by Trisane_Imphawke
Vera Ravenholdt, played by Murph
Brandt Oluffson, played by Torilgrey
Orlog Brightshield, played by Patrick Levasseur

Thank you to everyone who submitted characters. Should a spot open up in the party in the future, I will have a wealth of excellent candidates to draw from.

For our new nation builders, I will have the campaign threads ready in just a moment. Once they're up, feel free to introduce yourselves in the Discussion thread.

Congrats to those who got in.

Kain once again goes to seek his destiny. Congrats D'elagante I've seen you in just about as many recruitments as kain, glad you got a game.

And congrats to the others, I've no doubt you are all in for a great time!

Congrats and best of luck, all!

Good luck all!

I hope those who didn't get in this time get into the next campaign they try for!
