Silver Streak sets down her packages carefully and draws her pistol keeping an eye out for any further threats to the ambassador.

"The packages can be replaced. Let's leave their capture to the authorities and get the ambassador to safety."

The ysoki got away clean with their packages, dodging through the crowd and stalls, leaving behind only the sniper on the roof across the way. The screaming of the crowd around you finally percolated into your ears as you realized that you had been unloading deadly spells and ammunition into a crowded area. The Stewards that arrived a few minutes later were very clear about that point, noting that only non-lethal force had been used against you, but the bystanders and the dead body across the way showed that you had responded with lethal force.

Ambassador Nugblub did not say much to the Stewards, other than to indicate which of its packages had been stolen, and to note that it was unfortunate that none of the thieves had been apprehended. You managed to replace the purchases, with an escort from the Stewards keeping you company, and the drive back to the Lorespire was fairly quiet. The package thefts had been a very low spot to an otherwise good day.

Chiskisk was waiting when you entered the Lorespire, and his obvious good cheer fell slightly when he saw the dejected looks on your faces.

"Ambassador Nugblub, I hope that you have had an entertaining day. And I hope that your escort of Starfinders was both courteous, and boasted an impressive array of skills."

The ambassador started to speak, then stopped, turning to look at you. Then, he turned back to Chiskisk.

"Yes, Chiskisk, the Starfinders did impress, despite some murky currents at the shopping crowd place. In fact, I believe they may have refreshed my life more than once. If these be your 'babysitters' - I think I heard the term used - then well served is the clutch. Wymdd would be well-served to participate in such a school of planets as is served by these. Bring the paperwork and I sign now will."

Chiskisk agreed, and as he led the ambassador to the nearest conference room, he turned and gave you a big thumbs up.

Congratulations! Despite some hard luck in that last encounter, you built up enough credit with the ambassador to cover it.

Yay! Note to self: Get something non-lethal...

Ivan is annoyed the whole way back, all the more so because the ysoki used nonlethal measures. He bids the ambassador farewell, but looks more dejected as he leaves. "Someone died 'cause of that," he says. "I don't know if it was worth it no matter what we stand to gain."
