Kara Yurasdottir
”Aldwineas, as we are going to the town the man is from, I don’t think it’s a good idea to walk around with a shield showing his crest. It could very well get us accused of killing him. Who know, they might reward us for bringing him back.
Since the tiefling was part of the attack on them, I think her stuff is fair game.”
Kara picks up the feather tokens and the scroll.
”Let’s see if we can find out what this is - මැජික්!”
Kara cast detect magic and uses spellcraft to identify (assuming it is a magic scroll. If not, she’ll just read it)
spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
”Anyone wants this?”
I’ve put it in the loot sheet. Mark it there if you want it
”There is something strange about her. I’m not sure we can trust her. I will keep an eye on her”
sense motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Kara will take on last look around the area, to see if the tracks supports Vegazi’s story or if there are other tracks worth noticing
survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
After that, she is ready to leave.
Tymor Ironback
Tymor reads the note and listens to Aldwineas. Having long ago learned to trust the gnome's hunches, he nods and replies in Sylvan.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Aldwineas Boddynottle
Aldwineas absolutely understands Kara's point, and has internally accepted that he cannot and should not take the mithral items. At this point, he is just complaining. "But it's sooo pretty!" He sighs and continues helping to pack everything up.
After hearing Kara's concerns about the half-orc we've found, during the pack-up, Aldwineas shows the note he found to Arkhan and Kara.
I'll see if I can figure out how to post it on the images in the discord.
He doesn't speak about it as he doesn't think they have any other languages in common that he doesn't think the person they are talking about won't understand.
Short summary: someone was looking for some missing folks at the Path Riven, the Hell's Fury Orc tribe is causing trouble and is probably behind the stuff going on, and there has been someone following the writer that they didn't think was hostile, but wasn't being friendly either.
Aldwineas will point out the missing folks at Path Riven to everyone, as he feels that might be important.
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan pays attention to Aldwineas, making sure the gnome isn't pocketing anything from the dead. His wariness changes to curiosity after he explains the note. "Where is Path Riven?"
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara will keep the content of the letter to herself. If anything, it confirms her suspicions that there is a reason to be on guard about their new friend, even though she is a half-orc.
"So, Vegazi, where are you from? It doesn't sound like you are from around here."
During the travel to Arwyll Stead Kara will try to chat with Vegazi, nothing serious, just trying to get to know as much as possible about her background.
If she refuses to tell anything, Kara won't press her, but instead start telling her about herself, like where she is from and how it is to live in an all half-orc town, but giving her plenty of room to speak up, asking questions when it comes naturally in the conversation
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan doesn't have anything to add to the conversation, but listens curiously.
Two half orcs, as different as the moon from the sun. I look forward to getting to the heart of this issue.
He continues riding toward town.
GM Mindriot
The party makes their way to Arwyll Stead. Kara and Vegazi chat for a while. Vegazi explains that she is from "here" and lifts her arms wide to indicate that she makes her home everywhere that nature is. She does not get any more specific than that.
After several hours of travel, Arwyll Stead slowly cones into view. The town is a bustling frontier town built around an iron mine that was built by Easton Arwyll and his wife. Their heirs have been the de facto leaders of Arwyll Stead since.
As the party enters the town they are greeted by gaurds. The gaurds begin inspecting the bodies of the fallen. Almost immediately one of the gaurds utters in total devastation, By the gods! It's Wate! he says this loud enough that a crows of onlookers begins to form almost immediately.
One the gaurds takes off in a dead sprint somewhere in the center of town. He returns soon thereafter with another man who identifies himself as Mayor Darrel Proum. Darrel is a sweaty man with a paunch and the complexion that reflect his stress-fuled life and encroaching middle age.
As soon as Darrel lats eyes on Wate his is visibiliy striken, understandably, at the loss of the town's icon. He does not say anything about the deaths though, he does not want to do so in public. He does, however, invite the party, along with Vegazi, to the town hall to discuss this matter. He informs you that if there is any healing needed the party may do so, for free, at the local temple. He also requests that the party not leave town for now.
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan assists the villagers in taking the bodies off of the horses. He pulls the cloth wrapping the bodies back a bit so that the dead can be identified.
He is getting visibly more uncomfortable as the dead become a spectacle. If possible, he will speak with Mayor Darrel Proum away from the crowd, where he and the party have a bit of privacy.
"I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I understand that it is no consolation for those left behind, but the foes that killed him were defeated in kind. He has been at least partially avenged. If you will speak to us, of Wate and of other troubles that afflict your town, we will help you."
Kara Yurasdottir
”My condolences. We will meet you there straight away. I don’t believe we need any healing, except maybe Vegazi here?”
Kara looks at Vegazi questioning
”Where do you want us to bring the bodies? The temple? Or the town hall?”
Kara will bring the bodies where requested and then go to the town hall and wait there, until the others are ready.
Aldwineas Boddynottle
Aldwineas shakes his head in bemusement. All this over a bunch of empty shells! He shrugs and rides Blageis over to the town hall to wait for the rest of the party, since he can't help with the bodies, even if he wanted to.
Tymor Ironback
You guys have been knocking it out of the park so I haven't really felt like I needed to interject. But Tymor is still around and he'll do something when he has something to do! :D
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan nods to the Mayor. "As you wish. I will accompany our new acquaintance for now. Which way to the Temple?"
He walks with Vegazi to the Temple for healing, wanting to ensure that there are no misunderstandings as she walks among these grief-stricken people and also wanting to see the Temple for himself. As he walks, he removes his helmet and straps it to his belt. He says to Vegazi,
Assuming she assents, he continues:
If she doesn't want to talk about it, he keeps his trap shut and walks in silence.
GM Mindriot
Vergazi walks along side of Arkhan on her way to the temple. They are silent for a while until Arkhan begins talking.
Vergazi lets out a low chuckle at Arkhans comment about horses say, I like my feet more than horses and then chuckles a bit more at her quip.
When she is asked about whether or not she is part of the Hell Fury tribe she says nothing for a long moment and then turns her head and looks at Arkhan. She takes a moment to think of her words and then says, It...complicated... She appears like she wants to say more...but elects to keep quiet for the time being.
The temple is dedicated to Iomedae. As the two enter they are greeted by an acolyte. Vegazi explains her need for healing and she is brought to the town's priest who introduces himself as Ovir Radan.
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan is silent for a time, letting the silence stretch on. After a bit, he says,
He smiles then continues.
After the healing, Arkhan escorts Vegazi to the town hall to meet with the Mayor and the rest of the party.
GM Mindriot
Vergazi nods to Arkhan as they make their way to Arwyll Estate I belong nowhere to. Human town. They look with fear. But...if there is half-orc town...maybe I visit someday. For now...Nature is home, though. Nature is good. She nods again and Arkhan can tell his words have lightened her mood a bit. Perhaps the seed of a friendship between the two has been planted.
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara makes her way to the Arwyll estate as fast as possible, trying not to become a spectacle.
Upon arrival, she asks the first person to bring her to someone in charge that can tell her where to put the bodies.
She will help arranging the bodies, making sure that the tiefling and the demon is close by, so they can be inspected by the mayor when he gets there.
Then she waits.
GM Mindriot
Vergazi and Arkhan make their way to Arwyll Estate. Mayor Proum answers the door and ushers them past the foyer and into the humbly decorated parlor room. The adjacent dining room has been outfitted as an impromptu morgue, with the bodies of Wate and his comrades laid across the sagging wooden table and covered in white linens. Kara, who was already there waiting for the group and helping with bringing the bodies into the manor, nods to her companions and joins them to speak to Mayor Proum.
Along with Proum are two militia members, an elderly woman with wrinkled skin and a head full of curly gray hair, and a tall man in his late forties. Proum introduces the woman as Shovann Orda and the man as Gallus Crevac. The two were friends of the late Wate Arwyll, and together with the mayor, the four of them served as an informal governing council for Arwyll Stead. Now, just the three of them remain.
Shovann—the elderly woman—has a shrewd gaze and enjoys wearing vibrantly colored clothes that were in style when she was young. In stark contrast to the woman the man, Gallus, wears well-groomed red robes and keeps his graying mustache and beard immaculately neat.
With introductions made, Mayor Proum gets right to business. You assume this is because he is trying to not think about his dead friend a room away from where he stands and because he badly needs to know what happened. Please…tell me everything. What happened to Wate and his companions? Proum pulls out a notepad and a writing utensil and begins taking notes.
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan rejoins the party with a silent, assuring smile to his friends. He stands against a wall and folds his arms, watching the room.
Wate... Arwyll? So this man was a lord of some kind. The mayor's grief is profound. Perhaps there was something more than friendship there?
In response to the Mayor's question, Arkhan looks to Vegazi, silently wondering if she will have the confidence to provide a first-hand report.
I'm going to let someone else drive this conversation for a bit. I don't intend for Arkhan to be a 'face' and I don't want to hog the spotlight.
I'm rolling to watch the room and to gauge the three council-members and their reactions as the conversation progresses. If you want multiple rolls, feel free to roll them yourself.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara looks first at Vegazi, but not expecting her to talk, she then looks at Tymor, since he was the one that was invited to come here.
Tymor Ironback
Tymor steps forward. "Mayor, thank you for receiving us. We were on our way answering your summons when we ran across Vegazi" he gestures to the half-orc "fighting some demonic creatures. Wate and his companions were already dead and she would be too if we hadn't intervened. We found this note on Wate." He hands the note to the mayor. "We are here to help. Let us know what we can do."
GM Mindriot
Vergazi explains her part as well. She tells them she was following the group but does not explain why, and that she helped them when they were attacked. She tells expresses a bit of remorse that she could not save Wate and the others. She refrains from telling them that the flying creature was her sister as to not raise any suspicion.
Proum takes the note from Tymor and reads it to himself. He looks at Vergzi You must be the one that is mentioned in the note. I see Vergazi nods. Well, we are thankful you did...even if you will not tell us why. He turns to the rest of you. We are thankful to all of you, as a matter of fact, for bringing them all home to be buried where they belong. He drops his gaze for a few moments as if he were affording a moment of silence for the dead, and as he brings his gaze back to you...it stops on Vergazi hand. He has a look of surprise when he returns he gaze to everyone.
Vergzi...where did you get that ring? When he mentions this, Vergazi lifts his hand to look at her ring as if she had forgotten it was there. It is a signet ring with the initials "A.A" engraved on it. It also bears motifs of the Arwyl family crest.
Vergazi drops her hand to her side again and then explains where she got the ring from. She says that it was given to her by a human she freed from an orc tribe's slave yard. She describes the man in very good detail but she does not elaborate any further than that.
Proum, when she describes the man that gave her the ring, has to muffle the sounds of total surprise. That...that man you describe is none other than Adil Arwyll! Wates father! Perhaps this is why you followed Wate... He thinks on this for a moment. Proum then turns to the group and gets back to business.
Thank you all...again...for returning the dead. You may ask me and companions anything you would like. We will tell you all we know.
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan will say, "Well, let us begin with you telling us what is going on. You are obviously having trouble with this Hell's Fury tribe of orcs. Tell us what you can about that."
Tymor Ironback
Tymor looks at the mayor quizzically. "You summoned us here. What would you have us do?"
Aldwineas Boddynottle
Aldwineas is clearly starting to grow a bit impatient with all this talking/carrying and preparation of bodies, and is clearly looking to get back into action. Sparks are continuing to shoot off of him, though with less frequency and intensity than earlier. His face screws up and he's clearly thinking about something.
"Wate... Wate... Wait! What?" He turns and glares at Tymor. "Didn't you say that someone named Wate had requested our help? Isn't he the one who was killed? So does anyone actually know what the problem is we are here to fix? And more importantly, how are we getting paid?"
He takes a deep breath and calms down a bit, then looks down apologetically "Sorry Tymor, not your fault - just feeling a bit lost here..." Then, to the mayor, "Is there anyone who might have known his mind? Who might be able to tell us why we were called here?" Then realizing that his outburst may not have been completely appreciated... "Oh, and uh... sorry for your loss"
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara raises her hand
”I have a couple of questions too. ”
Kara will ask the questions one at a time and wait for the people to answer, before asking another one
“First off, the people traveling with Wate, who where they?”
“This tiefling character, any idea who she was?”
“The demon thing, any idea what it is? Would be good to know if we are to fight them again”
“What’s the story behind the attacks? The note mentions that they are more purposeful and in “diabolic company”. What does that mean?”
“How big is this tribe of orcs?”
“Who is this Terrin that wrote the note? And where is he now?”
“Do you think it’s a good idea to bury Wate just yet? I’ve heard of
people that can bring the dead back to lift. Not as an undead or something like that, but truly back to lift. I guess it’s expensive, but he seems like he can afford it”
GM Mindriot
Proum waits for all of the group’s questions to be asked. Once he feels that everyone has gotten everything out, he thinks for a moment, and then begins to answer the best he can.
“I believe you may want to first know who Wate is...or…was. He was the last of the Arwyll family, which founded Arwyll Stead generations ago. He was a brave young man who died far too young. In addition to being a symbol of the indomitable spirit of Arwyll Stead, he was a friend to many in the town. His companions were, not to devalue them at all, a priest and some guards for a scouting mission. I know not their names…but their loss saddens me…
Your presence here is as much of a mystery to us as it is to you, to be honest. I was not aware that Wate had summoned you all here. I knew the orc tribes had been a bit more active as of late…but the demonic presence that he talks about in the note is a bit surprising to me and to my colleagues. If the orc tribes have a bigger purpose than the average raid…I do not know what it is.
The Hells Fury tribe is one of the bigger tribes out there. I cannot give you an exact number. They never attack us at full force or with an organization, so an exact number is nearly impossible to give…so I will leave it at a vague “Big” description…that will be as best I can do.
Terrin is Arwyll Steads scoutmaster and a close friend to Wate. He is currently out on a scouting mission so you will have to wait for him to return if you wish to speak with him.
I am very sorry…but I simply do not have all the answers to all of your questions. The tiefling you fought, the reason for the attacks, and the “diabolic” company mentioned in the note are all things that I cannot answer for you.” Proum does the look of a man frustrated that he cannot be more helpful. As he finishes speaking, Gallus steps up and whispers into Proums ear. Proum nods and looks at the party again.
We hope you do not take this the wrong way…but we would like to run our own investigation on the events the lead up to the Wate’s death. We appreciate you bringing the bodies to us…but we must still make sure everything that you told us…is the truth. Proum says this with some reservation. You get the idea that he does not really suspect you…but for the good of the town he must do his due diligence in this.
We have taken the liberty to get you rooms at the Blissful Badger, the main inn in town, and request that you stay in Arwyll Stead for at least the evening. We would also like to ask a favor. There is a local hermit that goes by the name of Grev. He is known to be close to the Arwyll family and we would like to ask him some questions. If you could retrieve him in the morning…and bring him to us…we would appreciate it. He looks to all of you with a hopeful eye.
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara nods while Proum speaks
”Thank you for sharing this with us."
"Do your investigation if you must. It is a waste of time, of course, but you must do what you have to do”
Kara looks at her friends.
“I guess we will go to the inn, then?”
Aldwineas Boddynottle
Aldwineas shrugs at Kara, "I suppose we don't have any better options, unless we decide to head out now to find this hermit - although our hosts seem to feel that would be a bad idea." Then to Proum "How far away is this Grev person? And when do we expect Terrin back?"
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan nods in response to Kara's question. "Yes. The inn would be good. It has been a long day."
To Aldwineas, he says, "Let us wait until morning. We can take the evening as an opportunity to see what others in town know of Grev."
Once the party is at the inn, Arkhan will do just that: attempt to gather information about Grev.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 Gather Info
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara gathers her stuff, says goodbye to the council and go to find the inn the council talked about.
At the inn she orders a room for each of the party members and tells the inn keeper to send the bill to the council.
”Let’s go get settled in and meet in half an hour to discuss what we should do now. Should we meet in Tymor’s room?”
Kara then goes to her room and start by looking over Treacher, making sure there’s no wounds from the fight she might have missed or any injuries from the trip. She then goes over her gear to make sure that everything is in order, before making her way to Tymor’s room.
”So, what do you all think? Should we do as they request or something else? It seems like it was Wate was the one that asked us to come, so we don’t actually need to stay here, if we don’t want to.”
Kara looks at the others for a moment before she continues.
”I for one would like to look in to this. We could do as they ask and wait until tomorrow and then get that hermit guy. Or we could go look for Terrin, to get his side of things. That might prove difficult, though, since we don’t know the land and only have a vague idea of where he might be. We could use this time to try and gather information around town. Someone must know something. I would love to see if anyone knows anything about the tiefling and to just get a feeling for the mood in the town. What does people thing about Wate and the council
What do you think?”
Tymor Ironback
Tymor sits in grim thought for a few moments. "With respect to your non-human side, Kara, these orcs are becoming a real problem. It sounds like they are becoming more brazen, and if they are indeed allying with demonic forces, then the threat to nature and civilization alike must be dealt with. We should do what we can to quell it before it becomes untenable. It is not yet late; the best use of our time tonight is to do as Kara suggested and ask in the tavern and elsewhere around town about Grev, Terrin, Wate, and any random orc rumors."
Assuming we do that, I'm just going to go ahead and make my roll now. I'm specifically looking for information on the topics Tymor brought up.
Gather Information: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Arkhan Lunari
What is Vegazi doing? Does she join us at the inn?
Arkhan joins the others in Tymor's room. He leans his glaive against a wall and looks around the inn's room for someplace to sit. Seeing (maybe) a single chair and a bed, he glowers and stands, folding his arms across his chest. "I am of the same mind, Kara. Even if he who sent for us is now deceased, we came here to help these people and we should do so. I agreed to wait until morning to see about Grev, so I shall do so. You know by now how rigidly I will adhere to my word."
He makes a face at the way Tymor begins his sentence but agrees with him nonetheless. "It does not seem this town has enough resources to properly defend against this orc tribe now that they have made deals with fiends."
With that in mind, what does the town's defenses look like? Living so close to the Hold of Belkzen, they must surely be somewhat militant?Should I roll anything to assess their odds?
GM Mindriot
Proum looks to Aldwineas, He has not been seen in some time. No one really knows where he lives, exactly. We are hoping you will be able to find out from the townsfolk. He was once a well-known fighter in the militia...but has since become somewhat of a hermit and does not show his face all too often. When he does, he mumbles about some book he is reading. Perhaps the townsfolk will know more." With that, the party leave the manor and make their way to the the Blisful Badger.
The Blissful Badger is the sole inn and one of two taverns in Arwyll Stead. It’s a rather remarkable establishment, built 50 years ago by the late dwarf Delest Forgemore and run by her daughter for the past decade. The tavern’s name is a reference to Arwyll Stead at times of peace when the Arwyll family needs not invoke “the fury of the
badger” to fend off the orcs of Belkzen or monsters from
the Hungry Mountains.
The building is separated into two halves connected by a broad bar area. On the western side of the building is the inn, where visitors and a few semipermanent residents stay in cramped rooms on either the first or second floor. On the eastern side is the tavern, where tables small and large dot the floor in front of a finely lacquered performing stage. Performances aren’t common in the pragmatic Arwyll Stead, but the occasional traveling bard has been known to stop by and raise the townsfolk’s morale with a night of story or song.
The group all find the rooms they were told would be paid for. They get settled in...and then they all meet up to start planning.
The plan is to try and scratch up some information about the mysterious hermit, Grev. They begin with the tavern and do not get too many answers from anyone there...or they are ignored right out...either way...it is a dead end.
The part spends the rest of the afternoon and into the evening walking around Arwyll Stead both to get a sense of the place and to ask more questions about Grev.
Upon returning in the later hours of the evening, the party regroups, and the results are not very insightful for the work that was done.
Grev is the epitome of a hermit. He only comes into town every few weeks for supplies, maybe a drink or two at the tavern, and then leaves again. Sometimes, he has been known to talk about a book he is writing about his time in the militia. He has even brought pages to read but no one ever really takes the time to read them.
No one seems to know exactly where he lives. Some say he secretly lives in town...some say he lives miles and miles in any direction depending on who you talk to.
The only real lead you have is that everyone seems to think that Terrin will have more information when he returns from his scouting mission.
Vengazi is with the party unless I note otherwise, she follows along and assists when she can. Arwyll Stead is a, mechanically, small town in a strategic position near the holds of Belkzen. I do not have a solid number for you but you can assume that the defenses are good to very good.
Aldwineas Boddynottle
Aldwineas is clearly upset by the turn this job has taken, and is pretty grumpy as the group meets at the inn. He takes some time during the afternoon to find a weaponsmith and picks up a crossbow and some bolts, as well as some silvered bolts for dealing with fiends.
He tries to get some additional information from the smith while in the shop Gather info: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3 but is unsuccessful.
Somehow, I doubt a 3 will get any information, so I went with that
Upon meeting up with the crew late afternoon, Aldwineas is completely flummoxed, and sparks swirl around his armor violently in accordance with his mood. "Ok, just so we're all on the same page here... we have a task to find someone that doesn't want to be found, and we could get information from someone but he isn't here and might return to town eventually, assuming he isn't dead as well, and we still don't know who is going to pay us for our time, is that pretty much correct?"
He shakes his head, causing small gusts of wind to slightly disturb the curtains of the room. "So, if we don't get any additional information, what do we do? Look around the Path River for this Terrin fellow? Wait in town until he gets here, if he does?" Aldwineas jingles his money pouch, wondering how much a room will cost once the town stops paying for them to stay. "You all know me, I'm not really much for waiting - I vote we go look for Terrin unless someone else has a better idea."
Aldwineas lifts an eyebrow and the volatile gnome stares at Vengazi "Well, you're following us around, and you've apparently been around the area - do you know where this Grev might be found?"
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan restrains himself from glowering at Aldwineas.
He is so impetuous. I should have a discussion with him about it. Perhaps later, after he has calmed down.
"We still have options available to us, Aldwineas. If we cannot find information on the hermit, perhaps we could look around for Terrin as you suggest. We could also take an opportunity to have a look at the Hell's Fury tribe."
He speaks to Vegazi next. "Do you know any vantage points or hidden paths that we could use? If we were to go explore the route Terrin took along the Path River, do you have any suggestions for that? Does anyone have a map of this area? Perhaps we should purchase one."
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara sits down on the bed, tired.
This is not my type of job. I hate asking around! So slow!
”I think your right. We need to talk to that Terrin fellow. Depending on when Wate got the message, we could be lucky that he’ll come in to town tomorrow as the note said, so I think our best course of action is to wait until tomorrow and if Terrin doesn’t come back, then go talk to the council again”
“For now, I need a drink! Al this talking makes my throat hurt! And I would like to ask some questions about the members of the council. They seem like they would gain a lot of power, if Wate went away, so they could also be behind this.”
Kara Yurasdottir
"So Tymor, are you op for that drink? Did you notice that female dwarf behind the counter? She was checking you out!
Well, I say "she", but I'm not really sure. I assume it is a female as she was checking you out. I guess it could be a male dwarf. Nothing wrong with that, mind you, if that's your thing.
What ever it it's, he or she was checking you out, for sure.
Might be something for you there or do you have a speciel someone back home we don't know about?"
Kara grins as she punches Tymor on the arm
Tymor Ironback
"This time I know you are messing with me, Kara. Female dwarves don't have beards." He laughs. "And this is going to make me sound like a walking stereotype, but nature is my mistress. No time for romance. How about you? Any flings since we last saw you?"
Arkhan Lunari
Arkhan follows to the tap room, putting himself at ease in the comfortable environment. He smiles amiably at the conversation but he is uncomfortable with the discussion turning to intimacy. He glances at Vegazi and interjects, "Kara, would you tell Vegazi about Avenkazi?"
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara throws back her head and laugh
"look at me! Do you think all this could walk alone for long? The stories I could tell you, but a last, I'm a lady and don't kiss and tell"
She winks at Tymor
"But I have other stories to tell. Let me tell you of the time I fought a band of slavers on their way to Cheliax. Me and Treacher were on our way north when we meet a couple on their way south. They told us how they were following a band of slavers that had kidnapped their friend and a bunch of other people and was bringing them to a slave-auktion in Cheliax. It didn't take much of convincing for us to join them. We soon found their tracks and then..... "
Kara then tells a long story of how they track, found and liberated the kidnapped people from the slavers.
GM Mindriot
Vergazi joins the group at the bar. She too is tired after a long day of tracking this Grev fellow down. She listens silently to the group's banter and laughs at Kara's kiss and tell comment and at her the story she tells.
Arkhan, visibly uneasy with the discussion turning to a more intimate subject, mentions Avenkazi and this reminds Vergazi about asking Kara for more information regarding this town. Vergazi looks to Kara.
"Yes...please...where is Avenkazi? What is?"
Kara Yurasdottir
Kara lights up in a way she only does when the talk falls on her hometown. Even her voice sounds different, softer somehow. She talks in common, but every time Vegazi looks like she is having trouble understanding, she translate it into orc.
"if you ask me, it is the greatest place one Golarion. And not just for half-orc's like us, but for everyone.
It's in the high north, in the lands of the linnorm kings and it's the only true half-orc city in the world. There are other races too, we welcome everyone, but half-orcs rule it and we make up the majority of the towns inhabitants. A lot of us, my self included, has two half-orc parents. You don't see that anywhere else.
Half-orcs can live in peace here, only being judged on their actions, not on how they were born.
