So by my calculations, an inspired blade in your case, gets -2 penache + 3 penache to a total of +1 penache, which you have already used in the first combat against her? Which is where the minimum 1 comes from. This was always my reading of the RAW, and have never seen otherwise. Feel free to argue a different point though. I will take in your riposte now, assuming you are correct.
Each day, an inspired blade gains a number of panache points equal to her Charisma modifier (minimum 1) and Intelligence modifier (minimum 1), instead of just her Charisma modifier.
Further, please specify earlier if you would to use your longarm extract, as you only had shield up. It doesn't matter to be honest in any regards. It has taken you nearly 2 minutes to move through to the other side to where you are now carefully.

The quote you gave is exactly why I feel like I have 4 panache. It's not written as 'Charisma modifier plus Intelligence modifier (minimum 1)'. Instead they point out that each of them are minimum 1.
Sorry about the confusion on the extracts though!

My computer's fan at home decided to die this weekend, and it might be some time before I can post from home. Sorry for disappearing this weekend.
Genryl's eyes give a small twitch as he realizes there's not much help he can be inside the small area of these sewers and resigns himself to trying to stab around the flighty Ella. "Ella! Be carefull of my longspear, it's coming in on your right."

Ella's blade is a blur as she strains to her utmost to keep Ramyla's claws at bay, even so she can only maintain her wall of steel for so long before with a cry of pain, her doublet's sleeve begins to stain a vivid scarlet.
"Unngh. Damn you. I liked this outfit."

Ella fails to deflect the first strike by the creature, but barely manages to avoid the second. Out of options, she strikes the creature through the chest who roars in pain.
Through the cover, everyone struggles to hit the creatures, yet, you for the first time see fear in it's eyes. Blood gushes out of the wounds it has been dealt. She retreats to the corner begging for forgiveness. Please! Ahhhg! Stop this. You're not murderers - I know that! You won't kill an innoscent and helpless creature. You watch as it puts it's hands to cover its face in the corner.

Using his longspear to very carefully check for traps, Genryl edges into the room. "You're right, we aren't murderers, but we are angry. I'd reccomend answering our questions or risk angering us further and pushing us to do something... terible in the heat of the moment."
Tapping his longspear tip threateningly on the ground he starts, "First,Are there any other Ghostnives, here now? How many and where?"
"Second, Was it you who murdered our Venture Captain? Brandur? Timinic? The real Ramyla?"
"Third, what kind of poison did you use and how can we counteract it in the future?"
"Finally, just who or what are you really?"
He glances back at the rest of the group. "Anything else you want to know about?"

She spits back at the cleric. I am your worst nightmare. A shadow. You have no prof that I did anything you say. Leave me now, and I promise that I will disappear and you’ll never find me. The Ghostknives are in the compound ahead. You’ll find their leader there. Ask him for me, why he did such things - and was it all worth it?
But you’re too late. It’s already begun. The revolution. Let me go, I don’t want to be apart of his plan no longer!
She picks up a small haversack she was preparing before you barged in.
You can knock her out if you wish, but she seems to want to leave. She seems honest.
Genryl Vinebrewer
|
Genryl wipes the spit from his face with a flat look, and replies, "No, you are NOT my worst nightmare. Now leave the bag and go, your life should be enough, especially if you truly are a 'shadow'. Now get out of here and do not give me any reason to try finding you again."
Genryl then turns back to the group and states, "Sounds like we need to stop a 'revolution'. Anyone badly hurt? I can give some healing, but we should then look to pushing on before anything bad can happen."
Ella Quickblade

Ella scowls, "Coward, fight was just getting good too..." While she's not particularly interested in mercy, she's rather less interested in running her through in cold blood.
So Ella smashes her across the temple with the hilt of her sword. "There's quite a lot of grey area between stabbing her on the ground and letting her literally get away with murder. And yes, I'd love some healing."

Right as she drops her bag at Genryl's feet, the hilt of Ella's rapier bludgens her on the side of her head. She falls unconscious into Sirius' arms, who places her down. The gray creature looks almost lifeless, not even a breath can be seen on it's chest.
You check her belongings, and there is nothing of interest, except for a note which she has signed as a formal agreement between the Ghostknives to commit the murders you have witnessed today.
Pleased with yourselves, and knowing that you are about to head into the Ghostknives hideout, you prepare yourselves for what is to come next. The sound of rushing water echoes throughout this dank cistern as sleet-filled runoff pours in from northern, eastern, and southern channels before emptying through an outlet in the northeast corner. Stone walkways line the walls, with a large platform jutting out into the center of the room. Seven coffin-sized crates float on the water, tethered to the platform’s railings by short chains. As you climb back out of the water, soaked and smelling like sewer water, you watch as a strange alien plant shambles out of the water and into your direction. This mushroom grows from a bed of tentacular roots. Deep violet tendrils slither out of the dozens of fissures in its pointed cap.

At the entrance, Genryl gives a small angry sounding growl. "And now ewe know you are there too! Genryl is ticked off enough that he is loathe to try other non-violent methods unless absolutely necessary.
Gneryl gives a sharp cutting laugh. "I'd love to see you even TRY to skin me! It's a good inch or two thick in some places! I'd never waste money on the likes of you, but I will show you WHY you should be listening to what my 'big mouth' is saying."

Together, you are able to overpower the last remaining assassin in the room. As he falls, the room is still and silent. You find (4) potions of cure light wounds on their person, which you easily identify.
You notice here, the Ghostknives plan assassinations in this room, coordinating their targets on a common map to minimize the chance of drawing unwanted attention to their activities. You find the areas you visited earlier in the day, all with red crosses through them, symbolising the targets have been eliminated.
You move further through the compound, investigating each room carefully. The room to the north contains four trunks are scattered around this room, each built in a different style. Broken lockpicks litter the floor in front of each trunk. You think this is where they practice picking locks in this room, using several large trunks with different locking mechanisms as models for the locks they may encounter in the field.
The next room, contains fine sand which fills a shallow pit at the center of this room. Four straw dummies wearing padded armor stand at each corner of the pit. Solid wooden doors lead out to the north and east, while an arched hallway continues to the south. Obviously some sort of training room, when not on missions, Ghostknife operatives spar and practice their crippling strikes in this training ring.
This leaves you with the final room. You approach it, carefully, not knowing what is behind the other side. Whatever, or whoever it is, probably won't be friendly.
A chance for you to recover, and prepare. This is the final combat! We will be finishing very soon, definitely before May 6! Apologies for all of the interruptions, I hope everyone has had a good Easter break! I know this isn't the easiest of scenarios, and I know there are places where I could have improved.
