Prosperity "Prosper" Starr
Prosper heads into the room to get a better line of sight on the robot and calls out in common "Revenge for Wint! No skittermander deserves such a thorough lasering!" to help inspire his allies.
Get 'em on the robot.
Meanwhile he adds "अमेंड्रिया के गर्वित वंशजों में से एक के रूप में, मैं अपने कर्मचारियों के आपके इलाज से नाराज हूं एक बार इच्छा!" in azlanti to the butler-like combat robot.

"Liar! My lady is promised. She has no descendents yet. She'll be back in a minute or two, and she will be furious at your claiming a connection that doesn't exist."
The fourth arm aims at Prosper for his impertinence...

"गदर--" The robot starts saying, but then he calls under a volley of attacks from all sides, and slumps forward, all animation gone.
COMBAT OVER!
The trident glows with magical energy.
Various valuable trinkets neatly secured within the large desk (mithral datapad holders, ornamental styli, heavy gold bracelets, and the like) would be eagerly purchased by any scholars of Azlanti history in the Pact Worlds.
About 3500 credits worth of miscellaneous stuff.
A wall panel next to the bed contains a wardrobe that is now empty, although a monitor within the wardrobe has comprehensively cataloged the exceedingly elaborate gowns, uniforms, and shoes that once filled it—all fitted for a tall, athletic human woman. The catalog of fashions is fascinating, and might also be of interest to designers and historians in the Pact Worlds. In addition, there appears to be a beautiful intact circlet.
Wint
"HA!! That will teach you to mess with The Mysterious Seven not to mention the Skittermander of Doooooooommmmmmmm"
Prosperity "Prosper" Starr
Darn, it died. I was going to have Prosper take on the Parept's appearance and see if he could convince the robot to switch sides.
Prosper looks visibly impressed by all the glitzy valuables and picks up a golden bracelet. "Wow, the parept had pretty neat taste! Maybe a teensy bit gaudy, but neat!" He puts the bracelet on, briefly turns into the Parept and looks at himself in the mirror, then turns back into Olajra. "Suits her, she's got that nose-up-in-the-air look going on."
Before he leaves, Prosper takes a couple of pictures of the Parept and a few of the couple's pictures off the wall and puts them in his pack.
How attractive are the two of them anyway? :>
GM Hmm
I was kind of expecting you would too... But yeah, you guys finally hit the thing from all sides.
Prosper notes that Ameondria was absolutely striking -- tall, athletic, assured. Her intended, the pre-Gap Emperor, was far more plain. He was lean and had an intense look to him, but his features were more strong than beautiful.
Prof. Spec Silvervanes
|
Spec jumps at the sudden cessation of angry robot noises , and then cautiously begins poking around the robot and the room at large.
----
On his way over to the robot, he stops by the giant burning dinner fork he noticed on the way in and takes a look at it.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
"Oh my, well this is certainly the fanciest fork I've ever seen ... but it doesn't really look that fork-like now... hmmmm," He tips it over then quickly stands it back up "Ahem, does anyone want it?
tells anyone who is interested about it
----
Upon reaching the robot, he gingerly pokes the mustache and looks around a bit.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
"Hey Minos, didn't you say these things have ioun stones, or eat them or something?"
----
He then wanders off to look at all the shiny objects.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
He notices the circlet and begins quietly giggling almost uncontrollably and bouncing rapidly in place "Ooh, ooh, ooh! a mindlink circlet!! Hehehe, oh my I've wanted one of these ever since I was a little chick. I used to go stare at them in the window of..." He trails off rather abashedly and attempts to control himself. "Sorry"
Aldrox
Pon looks scans the rest of the room for anything of use.
"My guess, if they're not here, probably the bridge," Pon responds to Dalinar."That is where the other important information would be. I'll hap a glance in the next area." Pon then opens the door, steps into the hallway and looks around.
GM Hmm
"These are all fancy things, yes," Dalinar says, "but where are all the contemporary Azlanti?"
At this point, everyone recalls the conversation that they had with Ellioch about the locations of contemporary Azlanti. Ellioch told you there were four Cadets in the Cargo Hold, and two Cadets and a Lieutenant in the Bridge.
GM Hmm
Rooms aboard the Royal Venture:
1. Engine Room
2. Port Walkway
3. Technomagical Lab
4. Central Corridor
5. Parapept's Chamber
6. Cargo Hold
7. Crew Quarters
8. Galley
9. Medical Bay
10. Washroom
11. Bridge

Pon notes before he goes out that the door is currently marked बंद with the question, अनलॉक?
UNLOCK?
From inside the room, it's trivial to change the status of these doors, but outside the room, these are excellent locks.
As Pon opens the door, the shimmering hologram of Ellioch appears. क्या हथियारों के मालिक को अपने औचक निरीक्षण, कैडेट का नेतृत्व नहीं करना चाहिए? the AI asks with a sniff and a raised eyebrow.
Minos the Techno-Philosopher
Minos nods at Spec with regards to the items. "They can but they get consumed in the process. Usually, but might as well take a closer look"

GM Hmm
Minos discovers that there is in fact an Opalescent White Pyramid in there.
Dalinar Theodrin
|
"Yes, but do you not find it odd that they are staying there with all the guns being fired elsewhere on the ship?" Dalinar asks Pon. "Perhaps the walls are blocking the noise. If not there must be something very interesting holding their attention."
Prosperity "Prosper" Starr
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 5 + (6) = 20
Prosper does his best irritated Olajra growl and rounds on not the cadet, but the AI! "एक जहाज एआई के लिए, आपने इस जगह को अच्छे क्रम में रखने का एक भयानक काम किया है एलियोक! देखो, तुम्हारी अक्षमता ने हमें क्या करने के लिए मजबूर किया है।" He waves a hand at the butler robot.
Bluff; making this act convincing: 1d20 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (19) + 6 + (5) = 30
"Destroy a piece of the common Azlanti legacy, a priceless relic of a bygone age of Azlanti glory! And all because you are unable to manage the automated systems and AI left in your control. I am embarrassed on behalf of the dear departed Parept."
"And your insinuation that my own cadet is incapable of opening a door for me! I think you should return to your databanks and reflect upon errors in your hospitality subroutines that may have accrued over the years!"
Prosper's trying to get the AI's "eyes" off the group, preferably for long enough that no warning goes towards the lieutenant after we start taking out cadets.
Wint
Wint goes over to the dead robot, wondering if there are any parts that he can take to help his friend, the chef. After all, spare parts are always useful, right?
GM Hmm
Wint will be able to acquire lots of interesting parts.
Ellioch's digital eyebrows raise, and he replies frostily, "मेरी नजर पारेट के कमरे में नहीं है ... तुम मुझे किस लिए ले गए उसकी निजता का सम्मान किया गया, और सहायक ने उसकी जरूरतों को देखा। इस बीच, आपने पर्याप्त शोर पैदा कर दिया है कि मुझे नहीं लगता कि आपका निरीक्षण बहुत आश्चर्यचकित करेगा।"
Nice roll, Prosper.
Meanwhile, as Pon and Prosper are walking down the hallway, followed by the floating holographic bust of Ellioch, they hear someone shout, "साम्राज्य के नाम पर पकड़!"
Then another voice says, incredulously, "शस्त्र ओलाजरा के मास्टर? आप यहां पर क्या कर रहे हैं?"
"Master of Arms Olajra? What are you doing here?"
The voices are coming from a catwalk, where four guns are pointed directly at the two of you. All four young cadets are looking at the two of you.
Prosperity "Prosper" Starr
3 people marked this as a favorite.
Olajra strides forth sternly, looking vaguely irritated, as though he missed out on Strawberry Machine Cake's exclusive once-monthly Vast-wide broadcast. The last exclamation leaves him frowning at the cadet who spoke up. "क्या आप एक बेहतर अधिकारी को रिपोर्ट करते हैं? फॉर्म ऊपर!" He points down to ground level and then rests the tip of his rifle on the ground.
Bluff to be a convincing Olajra/authoritative azlanti: 1d20 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (16) + 6 + (1) = 23
He looks carefully over the group, eyes narrowing as he does his best to look like he has any idea at all what a Master of Arms would be needed to inspect. He keeps the inspection short, as if there's more pressing matters. He keeps the lies relatively simple this time, and with enough truth that any info the Lieutenant might've learned and subsequently shared with them doesn't outright contradict his statements.
If they fall for this:
He turns for a moment, whispering into his suit comms in common "They're coming your way, ambush them outside or in that room maybe? I dunno, never done this before, hehe." Outside may be better so that the AI doesn't realize? Or maybe we can claim the butler had a final laser-based spasm that accidentally killed all there cadets? :P
"I come with grave news regarding the Garrison, but it must be told directly to the Lieutenant in person. The rebels are a more formidable enemy than expected, and they may be listening to our comms frequencies right now. I need you to head outside and secure the perimeter while I speak with the Lieutenant."
GM Hmm
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 5
"हाँ, आर्म्स में मास्टर!" The cadets rush to come down for your inspection, and when Olajra sends them outside, they don't have to be told twice. They're teenagers who've been stuck guarding this boring room, and now they're getting a chance to walk outside and stretch their legs. They salute and move down the hallway towards the outside. "हम किसी के माध्यम से नहीं होने देंगे!"
"We won't let anyone through the perimeter!"
Do the rest of you let them go outside?
After they go, Ellioch looks disappointed.
Wint
Wint is totally confused by all the babbling in Azlanti and decides to back whatever plan the others have.
Delay until somebody starts something
Dalinar Theodrin
|
Dalinar moves towards the door, getting ready for company.
Is there a way for them to get outside without passing by us? If so Dal would probably let them go. If not I assume we don't have much choice but to fight. Unless Prosper tells them to expect us and that we're a part of the non-standard army(I forget what they were called).
Prosperity "Prosper" Starr
While I didn't have time to say everything, I figured you could slip into the zombie room and they'll take the shortest path to the outside, so you could follow behind them. Or you could ambush them in the Parept's room where the AI can't watch.
GM Hmm
Yeah, you can either have the Parept's door closed or wait in the technomagical lab. It's failrly obvious that Ellioch has eyes in neither location. The cadets are taking the most direct route outside.
GM Hmm
At this point, I'm assuming that you've let the teenaged Azlanti cadets run outside, and will catch up with them later. The rest of the group may now join up with Pon and Prosper in the Cargo Hold.
CARGO HOLD
The northern end of this partially destroyed area is a tangled mess of debris. Catwalks stretch above from the wreckage, with ladders bolted to the walls underneath. The ceiling here is 20 feet high and passages lead out to the northeast and west. An enormous airlock door stands to the south, bent badly out of shape, with a glowing computer terminal on the wall next to it.
More than half of the Royal Venture's cargo hold was destroyed in the crash. The large starboard cargo hatch doesn't open, as it's currently underground and jammed shut. The digital bust of Ellioch floats next to Prosper, his holographic head frowning as he surveys the damage. "अरे बेचारा जहाज। क्या आपको लगता है कि साम्राज्य उसे बहाल करने की कोशिश करेगा?" The hologram asks, wistfully. "या शायद यह एक संग्रहालय, या मेरी महिला के लिए एक मंदिर बन सकता है।"
Ladders lead to the catwalks, which once allowed overseers to supervise cargo loading and unloading. Creatures on the catwalks would have partial cover from attacks originating from elsewhere in the room. Crates and barrels here contain a mixture of ancient Azlanti supplies, and some brand new boxes of Azlanti equipment, clearly devoted to Lieutenant Sharu's group. You see food, tents, flares, a few mechanical supplies and several UPBs that could be spun into other components as needed.
5 mobile hotelier tents
Assorted Azlanti rations
9 flares
1500 credits worth of UPBs
Many of the older barrels contain only a viscous residue that was once long-term food reserves. Ellioch looks in one and sighs. "इम्पीरियल रेड, और यह एक अच्छा वर्ष भी था। हम इसे उत्सव में खोलने के लिए थे, और अब कुछ भी नहीं बचा है लेकिन सड़ांध है।"
The holographic bust turns back to Prosper. "क्या शराब अदालत में अब लोकप्रिय हैं? मुझे इन मामलों को पकड़ना चाहिए।"
"Tell me, what wines are popular at Court now? I must catch up on such matters."
Dalinar Theodrin
|
Dalinar walks into the cargo hold and pulls out his comm unit. He sends Prosper a message to avoid the AI catching him talk to his 'superior'.
Nice work Mister Starr. One less fight we have to participate in.
GM Hmm
You begin the process of walking through the rest of the ship.
CREW QUARTERS
This room contains enough bunk beds for a dozen people. Next to each bunk is a pair of personal lockers, each with a small keypad terminal. Several doors exit the area. Ellioch tells you, "रॉयल वेंचर के इंजीनियर, तकनीशियन और परिचारक ड्यूटी पर न होने पर यहां सो गए।"
Although quarters were cramped here, the bunks are all comfortable.
Mysticism DC 19
This is an Amulet of Camouflage. This modest amulet projects a simple pattern over your outer layers of armor, clothing, and equipment, which helps you blend into the background. When in an environment with a maximum distance at which Perception checks can be attempted, rolls to see at what range other creatures can attempt Perception checks against you are rolled twice, and the lower result applies. See Chapter 11 of the CRB for more information on the Perception ranges of different environments. The amulet's magic isn't powerful enough to make you invisible or grant a bonus to Stealth checks. You can activate or deactivate this camouflage as a standard action.
★ --- ★ --- ★ --- ★
GALLEY
This small but functional kitchen appears to be in good repair, although it's covered with sheets of yellowish-green mold. Narrow doors exit to the north and east. Ellioch's visage becomes a bit disapproving as he looks at it. "आपको अपने नौकरों को इस जगह की सफाई के लिए स्थापित करना चाहिए। इसे इस नीच अवस्था में नहीं छोड़ा जाना चाहिए। यह असमान है!"
★ --- ★ --- ★ --- ★
MEDICAL BAY
This medical bay is barely large enough for the single trauma bed in the room's northwest corner. Doors lead out of this room to the east and south. Ellioch continues to lecture Prosper and play tour guide. You get the sense that he enjoys talking about the good old days. "यह चिकित्सा खाड़ी आपातकालीन उपयोग के लिए थी और अक्सर रॉयल वेंचर के संक्षिप्त प्रीमियर यात्रा पर इसकी आवश्यकता नहीं थी। मेरी लेडी चुनी गई क्रू सभी शानदार स्वास्थ्य में थीं।"
The cabinets are all labeled in Azlanti and once contained a wide variety of medical supplies; the interior of each cabinet contains an inventory of supplies and a flowchart for the use of each in an emergency.
★ --- ★ --- ★ --- ★
WASHROOM
Unlike the other personal crew areas of the Royal Venture, this small washroom has seen recent use; Lieutenant Sharu and her cadets must use it occasionally. It's been cleaned, and restocked with a variety of excellent scented Azlanti soaps and bath gels.
★ --- ★ --- ★ --- ★
THE BRIDGE
Ellioch stops outside the door, and turns to Prosper. "और यहाँ हमारा ब्रिज है। आपके लेफ्टिनेंट वहां उत्कृष्ट कार्य कर रहे हैं।" The hologram spins, looking pleased. "मैं पहले से ही पछतावा और ताज़ा महसूस कर रहा हूँ।"
"I'm already feeling repowered and refreshed."
What do you do before you go in?
I've taken the liberty of putting you in three separate entrances to the Bridge.
Minos the Techno-Philosopher
Minos collects everything that isn't of immediate use to catalog for later.
Jiggering with the locker: Engineering: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
"This is interesting" He stares at the amulet with his discerning eye
Mysticism: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8
"Hmm..I can't seem to make it out"
Minos looks over the doors before entering. Azlanti like their shocking door trap. He would like to not have Wint be shocked again.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
While getting ready to enter the bridge, Minos will start to cast Summon Creature and create a tiny version of the Adjutant as we open the door.
GM Hmm
Minos does indeed find a shocking door trap. Would you like to disable it? It's triggered go off when a non-Azlanti goes through that door. You think that if you cut the wires well enough, you can also disable the shocking trap it's attached to on the other corridor.
You spotted it, and may take ten on your engineering check to disable it.
Wint
I'm assuming that we've taken enough time so far that I've essentially had a 10 minute rest. If you disagree, please tell me :-)
Wint sends through the comm unit
"Shall we? Do we want to let them surrender or are we just going to kill them all?"
Going out for the evening soon. So, I'll give what I'm pretty much going to do when combat starts
Wint ducks through the open door and hides behind <something>. He then shoots at the lieutenant

Arc pistol (EAC): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 for

Yes, Wint, you may have had a 10 minute rest.
Rush disables both shocking door traps.
