Interesting. To answer you question The Forge calls to me as my god is the god of the forge among other things.
*Mysterious NPC*

Indeed, the Forge. I will tell you of your destiny then. A wind begings to blow in the room and the candle flickers and struggles to stay lit. The women's voice deepens and her eyes roll back in her head as she gives your fortune. You will stand before the forge upon which the Oread Race was created. You will look upon it with your own eyes. And you will be forced to choose to do something terrible upon the forge. Your decision will spell the destiny of your entire race. You and only you will be able to make this choice.
Just then Gilderoy walks in. Gilderoy you are suddenly swept up in the illusion of the deck, seeing the empty space, stars, abyss, ect...You see Rasgraton speaking with the mysterious lady, Furia.
Gilderoy Targedew
Gilderoy seems quite surprised at the experience but no more so than the wine. Except that this case, he knows is not a hallucination based on previous experience.
"I'm assuming you must be Furia, from what we're experiencing now." He does his best to hide his amazement at the sheer power this woman wields.
Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

The women snaps out of her trance and zeros in on Gilderoy. Yes, I am Furia. That is what they call me on this plane of existance anyway. She looks the tall man up and down from head to toe. It is obvious to her that you are relatively awe inspired by her presence. Knowledge Arcana, Spellcraft, or ralated checks might tell you more. Also Detect Magic or related spells.
You are an interesting specimen. You seek to unlease the arcane powers that flow within your veins. You already know those powers are aligned with death, or undeath, by their nature. But if you answer me a question I will tell you more about the power within you...
A second chair slides in from under the curtain, poltergeist style, and stops next to Rasgraton.
Have a seat, Sir, tell me your name and who you are. Where do you come from and what is it that you seek? That is, what you seek that I do not already KNOW that you seek...
Rasgraton
Gilderoy this woman has this very amusing deck of cards that she uses to tell fortunes, I find this all very fascinating. It is much like the disemboweling of animals to tell the weather I have read some cultures use. Ras gives the thin man a smile as he sits beside him.
Gilderoy Targedew
Gil's eyes glow momentarily, as he thinks on the subject. Detect Magic
Arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
"I come from many places, as I've become a wanderer due to these powers. I wish to know about my forebearer, since my family won't speak of them." It seems to be a subject the young sorcerer has trouble speaking about who it was that supposedly passed this power on to him.

Furia reaches out to you. Give me your palm. I shall see what we can see...
Furia's eyes roll back again and her head sways from side to side. I see a man with Green eyes. His face is pale. He wears a fine suit. I see a moonbow. I see... She trails off. Her eyes come back and she looks at you. You will find an answer very soon, Gilderoy did I tell her my name?? You must follow the moonbow. You must walk over it.
Furia reaches into the folds of her blouse.
[ooc]Why do women always keep pulling potions out of the blouses in my games??
She hands you a unique oil of transmutation DC25 spellcraft to know it's properties. When you find the moonbow, use this. I will give it to you on one condition...

Talon is suprised to see Gilderoy's hand being held by the Furia and her head swaying back and forth. He is not affected by the illusion of space unless he actually steps fully behind the curtain.

Meanwhile back at the ranch
Antoni arrives to find Kendra drinking wine and looking at old parchments in her father's library room. You could explore her house or talk to her or sleep or do whatever. There is a cured ham and honey bread in the kitchen if you want to make a sandwich. What could possibly happen?
*Mysterious NPC*
|
There is in item on the other side of the moonbow. I can't get it myself for complicated reasons pertaining to the laws of magic, you understand. You will know what the item is when you see it, it will be unmistakable. Will you do this for me?
*Mysterious NPC*

Indeed, darling, very very few people have. Would you like me to tell you how they work?

Furia explains the nature and function of the Deck of Many things. As you've seen each card bears a dreamlike or unsettling image upon it, and every card is marked by one of six suits: crowns, hammers, keys, shields, stars, or tomes. A Harrow Deck of Many Things is usually found wrapped in cloth or velvet and hidden away within a simple wooden case, but nothing marks it as being anything other than an oft-used and treasured focus of the fortune-telling art. As soon as one of the deck's cards is drawn at random, though, its nature becomes apparent and an effect determined by the chosen card is bestowed upon the user—often to life-altering effect. A bearer of a Harrow Deck of Many Things who wishes to draw a card must announce how many cards he will draw before doing so. These cards must be drawn within 1 hour of each other, and a character can never draw any more cards from the deck than he announced (unless the effect of a drawn card states otherwise). If the character does not willingly draw his allotted number or is somehow prevented from doing so, the cards flip out of the deck on their own after 1 hour. Future attempts to draw cards from the deck made by someone who has already drawn his allotted number reveal only blank cards. Each time a card is taken from the deck, it is replaced, making it possible to draw the same card twice.
Furia smiles at you. I warn you, Gentleman, this deck is extremely powerful. Were it not for the Aura's i've sensed coming from you I never would have spoken with you about them. But if you wish, I will allow you to draw from my Deck of Many Things...

Kendra looks up from her books. Antonia, darling, will you come here for a second? I have something to show you. She rises and leads you into an auxiliary room, down a flight of stairs, through a passageway. She lights an oil lamp and walks through long halls under ground, the ceiling butressed by mighty pillars. Eventually she comes to a room with a stone door. She turns to you and says I know you are a warrior of the greatest calibir. I would like to show you my families treasures. But you must promise me not to take anything from this room. There are some powerful items in here. I feel I can trust you, however. Would you like to see them?

Did anyone else take this entirely the wrong way? Or did I? Now I really wish I'd sent Talon to spy <lol>

A dwarf and his jewels...err treasures are soon parted.
"Well, fron the sounds of it, these can be quite potent. Hopefully the world is with me on this one." He straightens his shirt and tie.
"Maybe just two, not to overindulge?" He seems more than a bit nervous, now that he knows the power of these things.
Rasgraton
This is quite interesting. I suppose I will take three.
Gur
"Sorry, I was abandoned by my orcish "brethren" as a babe and grew up in the wild so I never got the chance to learn their stories. The Nuns speak of a story though, a tale of twin brothers. One forever believing his world would always end up correcting any hardship and one who always believed the world would curse him with disappointment and sorrow. So when their birthday came around one year, their parents decided to break them of this. To the depressed nihilist they gave a room full of brightly wrapped presents. To the other, a room full of manure and a shovel. Now they leave these boys for five hours. When they return, they find that the one son has not unwrapped any of his presents for he believes that they must all be empty, and the wait of that disappointment would surely be his end. So they rush to the other boy and find him shoveling away, knee deep in much and smiling like this was the best birthday ever. For with that much dung, there must surely be at least to ponies on the other side." This the orc delivers in a slow, somber voice. Never changing his intonation, as if reciting a sermon he once heard.

Gur.
"Mr" Baily says Thank you, for your kind story, Mr. Orc. Girls do you hear that? A lesson in how one makes one's own happiness in life. Truer words were never spoken. Now if you please, mr Orc, I must tuck my children in...and I prefer to do that alone tonight. He smiles at the girls.

Gilderoy and Talon.
Fyuria looks with astonishment as the two of you pull the same card from the deck...
How is this possible? The deck only contains 1 of each card?? She looks confused. The card depicts a child surrounded by demons, wondering where she is.
Oh no...THE LOST
The Lost 9 of Spades CE The character cannot gain another level in whichever class he currently has the most levels. This effect can be circumvented if the character is killed and returned to life, but the next time he is restored to life he is affected as if by the spell reincarnate, regardless of what spell was cast. A wish spell will also negate the effects...if you can find a being capable of granting it.

haha, lose them. funny. Gur was right, this deck is evil. And poor gilderoy still has 1 to draw, and Ras has 3...I'll let you guys out of it if you want...maybe face the DECK another day?
The little girl in Gilderoys card LOOKS at you! She smiles. The demons start to dance, swirl, they all meld together into a whirling tornado.
A false draw...I've never seen one before. This is strange...Gilderoy, yours is THE CYCLONE
The girl in Talon's card also changes...black marks begin to appear on her body. Her hands come up to her cheeks and she howls in a scream. The demons surround her, reaching for her.
THE SICKNESS. Bad draw, my friends, I am so sorry...
dm night-shade
Gilderoy finds himself sucked in by the cyclone. He is sucked RIGHT IN TO THE CARD. Once inside he finds himself face to face with the biggest freakin' air elemental he's ever seen.
