The passages are big enough for medium sized creatures to swim through. There do not seem to be any further hazards, however.

"There are passages here, but I am going to have to dismiss my spell to go through them. Before I do so, let's carefully search this room, though."

"Will any here have exceptional difficulty in swimming?" Sharna asks the others, with a sidelong glance at Landros's heavy armor. "I have a concoction that may assist with that. But if you feel competent in your own abilities..."
Ra watches the water fixedly. He can swim. He doesn't like to. And he has a sneaking suspicion Mom is going to put him inside a carrying case.
Ra looks for things to vent his bird-like anger on: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
| GM Kim |
Al Suresh looks over, "Oh look, water."
Shandor, growing ever more bored, growls in frustration, "Would you fools just do something, already. The air here does my dry disposition no good!"
Lady Natalia, poking at the hole on the far wall, sighs a silent prayer to her dead god and dismisses her spell, bringing her back to a normal size, "Very well, though we might want to check out the rest of the tomb before we do."
Zaquielle speaks up at this point, "Do not worry about that, I have raided the fake treasury for anything especially sparkly and have determined that the fog of war'd areas are just decoys setup by the gm to make us think that there were other unexplored sections of the tombs."
Sharna, stuffing her pet bird into a familiar satchel, nods thoughtfully, feathers flying here and there, "Very well, then. Shall we begin our swim, then? Those of you in heavier armor may wish to take it off, though I believe the swim will be easy enough without having to take such precautions."
Rodrigo pipes up at this comment, "This is excellent, yes? With ladies taking off clothes to make swim, Rodrigo will be brave and swim behind to keep good lookout! Ladies be very grateful to Rodrigo and imbue him with their gratitude at a later date!"
Grabbing up the unmoving Al Suresh, the group then proceeds to swim through the crack in the far wall, secure in the knowledge that there is absolutely nothing left in the tomb for them to plunder document.
| GM Kim |
The dark and claustrophobic passage through the foundations of the tomb opens into the overcast swamp. The back of the tomb is much like the front, with gnarled swamp trees fighting for space on the dryer bits of ground and reeds, grass, and open stagnant water claiming the rest. To the east the ground raises slightly. Between two bone and leather fetishes lies a path that has seen recent use, the grass and marsh weeds broken down into a matted mush.
At the other end of the underwater tunnel, you find a beaten path through the swamp. Where the path leads, however, will need to wait, since as soon as you emerge from the water, you find yourselves face to face with a man surrounded by a contingent of lizardfolk.
The man is a thin, goateed Garundi man with piercing blue eyes and hair pulled back in a short ponytail, dressed in muddy studded leather armor. He seems surprised to see you, but recovers quickly, "Welcome... Pathfinders, I can tell. We're just about done here, so don't let us get in your way."
Shandor "The Beast"
|
"Interesting, and who might you be?" deigns Shandor with a contempting sneer.
| GM Kim |
"Me? I'm no one compared to such prestigious people as yourselves!" he replies with a big grin. "Names Geric. just an unaffiliated treasure hunter."
Sharna al-Subaiyyat
|
Sharna looks over the man and the various lizardfolk with him with a cool eye. Competition, is it? She releases Ra from his carrying case, and the bird shrieks indignantly while Sharna stands there dripping.
"I am called Sharna al-Subaiyyat, Geric. I would say it is a pleasure, but under the circumstances... you'll forgive my curiosity, but how exactly have you come to be here? You are correct we are Pathfinders-- and we had not anticipated that anyone else would have access to this place. It would be of considerable... interest to the Society to know that there are others with the freedom to come and go... and to take from the Society that which we deem our own."
Seeing as it's within the blasted tapestry...
She stares stonily at 'Geric' and his presumed lizardfolk allies.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
What does an indignant Ra see-- and how many lizardfolk is a contingent?: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24
1st priority: Get Ra out
2nd priority: make an Intimidate check on Geric
3rd priority: use Flight hex on herself (it's Su, so no gestures or components, activates mentally). That doesn't mean she's currently flying, it's just activated so that she now has a fly speed, etc.
| GM Kim |
"Hey, now! No need to get hostile," he says, holding his hands up. "I just found a portal in a cave, made my way in and found myself here. I befriended these, uh, lizardfolk and they asked me to help them loot some treasure room they were always too scared to plunder themselves, is all. No harm done, yeah?"
Ra can see that the man is wearing a signet ring.
It's a pretty ring.
Sharna al-Subaiyyat
|
Ra shrieks and trills and asks his mistress if he can have the shiny? Sharna sighs and gestures for him to be quiet-- though she does glance the way of the ring that he mentions.
"A cave where, Master Geric?" she says with implacable persistence. "And these lizardfolk were native here?" Her skepticism is rather obvious.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
If necessary, Sharna perception to see the ring: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 (Add 2 if this is considered bright light, but I doubt it)
Int check from Sharna, if needed/useful: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Sharna also looks to see if any of these lizardmen, or Geric, have obvious plunder from the tomb with them. How intensely irritating to have been beaten to the rewards of the tomb, she supposes. Her own sense of fair play might let the man go, but then, she somehow doubts all her colleagues would share that attitude. Or that Aram Zey would be terribly understanding, either. Still, she is much more worried (and wagers that Aram Zey might be so as well) about the idea that there are entrances to the Tapestry's demiplane that are not under Society control.
...Well those were some awful rolls
| GM Kim |
The man sighs, "Look, you guys seem like nice people, but this is starting to get boring. I mean, I'm behind schedule as it is. You understand, I'm sure." Turning to the lizardmen, he points to the group and shouts, "Svent astahi!"
The lizardmen hiss at you and prepare to attack!

Casting Confusion, Will save DC 19, on Geric and the two frontmost lizardfolk. Sadly, I don't think I can get three of the lizards.
Sharna than drifts ten feet off the ground and forward a bit, out of the dragging, irritating water. Ra shrieks smugly from her shoulder.
"I should like to take that man alive, if we might," the witch says. "But I confess I will not be terribly upset if not."
(Sharna is floating 5' above Zaquielle at the moment, despite where shown on the map.)

Shrugging off the powerful effects of Sharna's spell with ease, the two lizardfolk up front and the back two move into position, preparing wicked looking javelins as well.

Shandor wades in the shallow bog and gets into position. The runes on his torso flare to life and the orc's eyes burn with fiery wrath. With an arcane power word, an arc of fire surges from his hands towards the treasure hunter. The flames hit him with full force, then spread to two of the lizardfolks.

Remember, she can't understand you, thought it really doesn't matter for this. Let's see if that double roll helps Natalia get some crits!

Shandor grunts in boredom, about to walk over and retrieve the blasted thing for the magus himself. If he could be bothered for such menial labor, that is. Sharna continues to cackle from above, filling the otherwise silent air with madness. Ra shrieks along with her. Are they laughing at poor Al? Trying, in some odd way, to fill him with confidence?
Natalia waits patiently, tapping her spear sword against the ground, eyeing the gambling lizardfolk. Zaquielle, on the other hand, fidgets nervously, wanting to darken the sky with arrows. She doesn't care at what they hit, as long as the sky is dark with her arrows, she is content.
Rodrigo is just stoked to be here with so many of the beautiful ladies, yes?

Shandor sends out a fusillade of magic missiles, each striking their target. The lizardfolk in front of Lady Natalia drops to the ground, slowly bleeding to death. But the missile intended for the treasure hunter gets absorbed by an invisible field. Rodrigo rushes forward to save Al Suresh, and with a might blow cleaves into the lizardfolk flanking Al, dropping him, as well.
Zaquielle fires an arrow at the treasure hunter, but the arrow as well is knocked aside by some invisible field, clattering uselessly into the tall grass. Sharna continues to float in the air, and utters arcane words of power, causing the treasure hunters eyes to glaze over, and continues laughing as the GM cries.
Al's first dagger strike still misses the blinded man, but his second dagger strike succeeds, sending massive amounts of electricity through the mans body. He slumps to the ground, still grinning that he almost had Al, and would have bested him if not for those dirty, dirty tricks.
Would reroll Al's damage since I doubt his dagger does d6 damage, but the end result will still be the same... If Sharna hadn't blinded him, he'd still be alive, too!
All that remains is a single lizardfolk, looking genuinely terrified. He looks to Lady Natalia, as does everyone else, waiting to see what she will do. Crickets can be heard in the background as everyone waits to see the true outcome of this slaughter.
