I will designate how I use my scythe by the fluff I put before the to hit roll. Just in case it had DR/P or DR/S. For that encounter because it was on the floor I was using it as a Piercing weapon not a Slashing one.

If you want to set up a regular, nightly routine or general plan, go ahead and we'll just assume most nights follow the plan barring any specific and special changes. In a house like Walthus's, things do feel considerably more secure than in the wilderness, but general ideas of setting watches would be good to hash out early.

Hey, guys. Schedule update and, oh boy, it's a big one.
On Friday, I have graduation. It starts at 6 pm and should end around 7:30 pm. However, I need to be there by 5 pm. So from 5 pm - 7:30 pm, I'm unavailable to post.
On Saturday, I work from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
On Sunday, I work from 9:30 am to 3:00 ppm.
I also picked up a shift on Monday. I work from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Thank you for understanding!
Piper Hemlock |
Thanks, Alara! Feeling excited about graduating from my program. But also sad to leave all of the people I've worked with and the location I've worked in for the last 3 1/2 years. Ah well, going back there next semester for a new program! Plus, I'm still working on my video for my internship, so it's not like I'm going to be gone forever. :)
Sharrd |
Good Job, Piper!
As for watches, Sharrd would be willing to take either the first or last watch. His Perception is actually pretty good although he does not have low light or darkvision.

I've decided I'll be applying for an honors year. That'll let me qualify for going into grad school for clinical psych.
William Drak |
I have told this group that I am a bum right? Well I have started signing up for the chair force and if I get everything done as quickly as possible then in 6-8 months I will be going to boot camp (said about 3 weeks ago). Regrettably family is over and I have been unable to continue the process.
And congrats on the graduation and good luck with the honors Alara.

Bill, I can't see Fake Walthus's Map. Apparently, I need to sign into my Google account. And even then, it's denied because I don't have your permission.

Okay. Some very odd, very stupid questions. Should I get a grooming kit? Also, the books say that chalk is one per day use. Should I keep track of that? How do we keep track of trail rations? Do we have to say that we ate a day's worth of rations in a post? Again, still new to Pathfinder and, again, random stupid questions.
William Drak |
Trial Rations are supposed to be your: Breakfast, Second Breakfast*, Elevenses*, Luncheon, Afternoon Tea*, Dinner and Supper*. All rolled up into one convenient to open cloth. 1 Trial Ration = 1 days meal.
So they are meant to be eaten all day, while walking (by taking out an item and chomping on it as a snack) or sitting down and having a picnic.
* = Only if you are a halfling with their specific trial rations.
Alara Dawnchaser |
With regards to the grooming kit, Piper, I just brought it with me because it'll give me something to do with my downtime.
Given how concerned your character is with being tidy, I'd say getting a grooming kit would be a good idea.
Of course, now that I have a cloak, I'll need someone to hold my backpack while I scout ahead. Too heavy for me to carry without penalties now.
Bill Dunn |
I'm not going to require anyone to say they're eating a day of trail rations in a post. That's very nit picky for a PbP game. And I think it will ultimately be subsumed within the caravan rules laid out in the player's guide. More to the point, I think that as PCs start out on a caper away from civilization, like to this marsh, a bit of supply consideration in equipment should be included. That may mean setting out with a good supply of rations, but not really daily management of them.
A grooming kit is mostly a fun little bit for fleshing out characteristic gear. If the PC cares about appearance, it's a fun little thing to hand a little role play on. It is otherwise not crucial - you just have yellowed teeth, messy hair, and so on. ;)
Bill Dunn |
OK, let's pin you down. Through the marsh directly or via the path?
Marsh directly so far: Alara, Piper
Path so far: Sharrd
To give you an idea what the terrain is like in that general direction, try this image:

Okay. Thanks for clearing the whole trail rations thing. So, how would you like us to handle that? If we spend a day without food, it counts as using trail rations? Still a little confused.

Schedule update: On Friday, I work from 5 pm to 9 pm. On Saturday, I work from 12 pm to 6:30 pm. On Sunday, my dad and me are going to see the new Hobbit movie, so I won't post for a while.
Piper Hemlock |
A couple of things:
First, Happy New Year's Eve, everyone.
Second, I just got done with the new Hobbit movie. It was awesome. Alara, Sharrd, you were right. Smaug was awesome.
Piper Hemlock |
It's more impressive because I've never seen Sherlock (that's where the voice actor's from, right?). So I'm curious.

The new season starts tonight, doesn't it?
Bill Dunn |
Ah, the first day back at work after a week and a half off. I don't know how to smiley that one :) or :(. Hope everyone's holiday season has gone well and you'll all have a good 2014.
Our local game store has a big 20% off sale for birthdays and I just hit mine on the 31st. Came away with a couple of nice PF goodies and some Edge of the Empire. Interesting focus for a Star Wars game - away from the Jedi. Refreshing, actually.
Bill Dunn |
Well Happy Birthday! Must make it easy to keep track of your age.:)
It's surprisingly weird. If I take the current year and subtract my birth year, there's only one day of the year that it actually produces my age - Dec 31. It otherwise always gives me one year too many. Had I been thinking about it, that might have worked to my advantage when I was 20 if the bartenders and bouncers just looked at my year rather than date of birth. But since I was living on a college campus where beer was very easy to come by, that was never much of an issue.

Just a quick question for Masamune regarding Duty - as a class feature of a samurai, I assume he's in the general vicinity of wherever Masamune goes whenever possible. Would that be about right?
I've got a token for him on the map. As far as riding goes, I'd just stick the Masamune token on top of Duty and we'll assume they're riding pretty much whenever that happens. Masamune would effectively fill Duty's space but I'd rather not stretch his own token - I'll save that for whenever someone is under the effect of an enlarge spell.
Piper Hemlock |
Schedule update: I work on Saturday from the late morning through the afternoon. On Sunday, I work the afternoon.
Masamune Mitsuhide |
Yes that is basically what will be happening unless Masamune makes it a point to allow someone else to ride Duty.
