Llvenoc; can I get a fort save please.
For the Love of Lolth I'm not going to die trapped here listening to Dwarven singing.
In the Mindlink: "I will dig Kosan and the others out. Durr find us that fresh air supply or our efforts will be for naught. And one last thing. People start exclusively using the mindlink to conserve our air supply. For every word you speak out loud is death on your lips."
I start digging out Astinos, Decidio, and Kosan.
Valegrim
Ok; Llvenoc in his tunnel begins exerting himself in their tunnel to get to the the trapped party members; the rubble falls to fill in the gap from where nebebit and June got pulled out of the collapse; Durr finished breaking through to the trapped party in the larger room; then turns to go back to the prior digging for a new supply; his digging and Llvenoc's digging will fill their littel tunnel quickly if no one clears the rubble.
Aahz is listless slipping in and out of consciousness; June is watching Kenembi; Nebebit is ministering Aahz; Neb; you can make some heal rolls and religious rolls to figure out what to do.
Jewel is cleaning her fingernails and primping her hair.
Fox Mask; what are you doing?
Astinos? you and march are clung together; what are you doing. It is getting very hard to hold your breath; check every minute.
Party fort checks every 5 minutes; every minute is doing heavy exersion like digging or clearing.

Kemnebi looks shocked as June's words sink in. Then he looks even MORE surprised at Neb's response.
He looks around their tiny cave, and at Caerwyn's slumped form, and then over to Nebibit. The look he gives his old friend is inscrutable. 'I agree with you June, we're gonna need help to get out of this one. But, I've dedicated my life to magic, not worship. It will have to be someone else.' He glances back to Neb. And Neb is probably surprised at the lack of usual rhetoric against relying on powers,

A few thoughts come to you; you must be able to touch a recipient of this spell; the recipient must not be warded against it; you both must be on the same plane of existance and as the power comes from your diety; the recipient must be in good standing with your diety. If one or more of these interferes; the spell will fail.

The Girls say in unison:
"Our Diety requires sacrifice; dedication to the ideal; not worship, not any of the petty things of gold or jewels that mortal often offer. Know you that you stand in the Dark; in the Dark place of the earth; and Darkness is within each of you. Who will sacrifice that all may be saved?"
Llvenoc
I laugh through the Mindlink as I continue to shovel the others out.
Mindlink: "Fox, the terms of a sacrifice set by another means nothing. Its up to you to decide what your willing to sacrifice. Its up to the God/Goddess to decide if what you offered is worthy. Its all about faith."
The Jewel
"Perhaps I can put it into perspective for you my Sister Fox, as in magical energies there is a give and take. Energy from a fireball is taken from the plane of fire; manipulated by the magic user; and cast into this plane for effect; the spell components are from this plane; consumed and balanced into the plane of fire in equal share.
Thus as a Priestess, I can guide you. Sacrifice to the Dark God must be equal in share to the task at hand; thus; as he is the Universe and you are local; you desire an action locally and must give to the Universe. Thus there are certain "universal ideal" that constitue the will of the Universe. Things such as life, birth, death, creation, destruction, constant warring factions and all that which binds them together. Thus was High Priest Balfic able to open the way to the Dark God and draw his gaze by binding Life, Death, Creation in the setting of war tied together by his sacrifice of external pain augemented by his will and the infliction of self pain and mutilation. Thus we have learned that pain is the greatest gift of our loving Goddess Loviatar; for it teaches us and guides us to choose a path of life.
Does that help Sister Fox?"
Fox of Silver
Does that help Sister Fox?"
Mindlink "Yes and no, thank you, Lady Jewel. I understand the idea of the exchange of energy and matter as a part of the harnessing of magic. It is comforting that there is much the same in the area of the divine. But I still do not know what sacrifice would be appropriate -- I'm not even sure I know what the exchange would be for. Would I sacrifice so that we escape this airless trap we find ourselves in? Or would it be so that attain our goal? I thank you for your guidance and welcome your advice so that I know how to proceed... or if I am a fool and should stand down, I welcome that advice, as well."
The Jewel
"Sister, it is a chancy deal when dealing with dieties, items of power, and so on. The outcome is not known; we know from prayers for spells what kinds of things dieties will exchange; we know some about their ideals and themes; but what mortal can know the mind of a God. I can tell you that the God of Dark is neither Good nor Evil; niether lawful nor Choas; but is also all of those things. I can tell you that you can stand in Darkness and with appropriate sacrifice to get Its attention; this God WILL hear you for you are surrounded by Its faithful; I am a Dark God Priestess, those two are Dark God Servants <guestures to mean Iunius and Decidio>, The Mother of Dark: the Slayer, has sent this group gifts; the High Priest of Dark has Blessed each of us. Thus I tell you; though many Gods or Goddesses may be watching and may or may not act; The Dark God IS here and Will act if you call him with sincere sacrifice. What aid may he bring? The Dark God's power knows no limit; thus more chance; more risk. If you ask for his help and promise yours in return; you may find yourself somewhere else in the megaverse fighting some obscure theme; so be precise; it may help. Make the sacrifice equal to the task and the scales will be balanced.
I cannot tell you what will work or what to do; I can tell you what has worked and who he has listened to and what they did; stories; I can tell you stories. I can tell you that many other dieties, if not all but a few are under his influence. I can tell you that you are so small and finite to him, as am I or any of us; we are less than ants among giants; more like ants of ants among giants among gods. Thus your Faith and Sincerety must light aflame to signal his attention, but Know you this; One of his Solars and nine of his Planetars and a great host watch above us as the battle is waged above us for Comes The Beast of Desolation into the field Seeking the Lord of Universal Death. It is happening; The Old Ones slumber is unsteady; the Mi'khail is upon the multiverse with his dread sword; a signal of the End of Things and the Begining of Horror Unspeakable. Thus our need to restore this Goddess of the Earth is Great; our place in Prophesy is set; we are the instruments of Life and Continuity.
So I tell you Sister; look deep inside yourself and choose; shall I tell you the Awakening of Balfic; the Rite of Kormath; the Walk of Two Beings; the Service of Lorm; The Dark Dragon of the Urdin Fael Valley at Kojan Home? how can I help?"

While still singing and compising my Funeral Dirage I start moving around to make room. The purpose is so that I can turn around and make me a little area to start digging back to the group.
I stop singing long enough to say
In the mind link: Blasted infidels ye are thinking of bringing in the devil into our midst all for the sake that ye be weak and spinless. The true test of a fighter is not the skill of his sword but his ability to get up one last time until his foe is killed, then kicking him and living another day. Ye stand there gabbing at the what ifs, the what fors, and the OH mys yet ye let the present slip on by. Have ye not noticed that there b three companions still in mortal danger while ye talk of Balfic the great. I know Balfic and even He does not think of himself as great but mearly a survivor of what life throws at him. Look for a second at me bruther Kosan is he great, he has but 60% of his true dwarven body left. His eye ripped out by a dragon in the Abysis, his hand destroyed fighting for his life, His arm ripped from his body by a mighty foe. The difference betwixt him and these mighty foes they be Dead and he be above adding more notches to his hammer "Red Jajua". He escaped the Abysis and got a deamoness consort ta boot. Did he cry out to dumathioun to protect him every time he was out a spells, strength, or seeping blood from his boddy in buckets, Nay I say. He Got back up Looked his foe in the eye, especially after the dragon encounter, and struck again until his foe lay at his feet no matter how many times he fell. SO STOP YOUR YIP YAPPING AND GET ME OUT OF THIS BLASTED HOLE I GOT MORE FOES TA KILL. Besides I can na die with such a poorly sounding Dirge Ta honor me departure. You would be familiar with the story of Lorm; he is infamous. Story goes he was a Monk from somewhere East who tried to flee his fate and stole the Dragonheart Spetum of the Ancestors from his clan; traveled with Balfic; gave up his martial linneage and family clan and joined the Masked Wizards wearing a Hawk Mask. For some reason unclear; he joined up with the faith of the Dark God; has some destiny as destroyer of Fae; and got changed to a catperson in some demi plane of chaos playing with the Laughing God; The Emperor is fairly upset with him and made him the Imperial Ambassador to Tarantis; a city held by demons and home base apparent of the Four Horsemen though it is said their dread master lives somewhere farther west. It is well known that Loviatar doesn't like him; and the Dark God's Avatar outright threatened him and watches him closely. Also; there are several groups of Monk from his temple that seek him in the world; have captured him and seek to take him back to his Fate in the Isles of Blest. It is also known in your order that the Emperor Sebastions personally recruited Lorm; the firt recruit since his return; so the Order of Masked Wizard more or less leaves him alone.
All: Don't let me stop you if your character wants to go here...
I'm a little familiar with Balfic from previous in-game comments, but does Fox recognize any of the other tales offered by the Jewel?

no; your not facing that way. The earth your digging in is really soft; you afraid of more coming down to replace it; what are you going to do to shore it up?

In the Mindlink: "I need spears, shields, anything to shore up these walls. Perhaps there is a spell or blessing that can assist with this as well? Otherwise there is a good chance more of this tunnel will collapse, and we will be worse off than before."
I look for ways to pack down the earth on the sides and ceiling. I also quietly chuckle at Fox's reply to Kosan's singing.

from the centipede to Kemnebi:
** spoiler omitted **
Kemnebi facepalms himself as a surprised 'Of course!' pops loudly into the mindlink. Eyes wide in embarrassment, the mage clamps down on his thoughts.
Direct to Vale/Centipede
'Of course! He's a power! He needs FAITH! Excellent work little one! If you can find that nest of snakes for me so I can 'dedicate' with them once we get out of here, I would be very appreciative.'
Kemnebi turns back to the tunnel as his voice returns to the link.
'I swear, for a genius sometimes I am such a dunce! I'm with Kosan, let's get out of here, I've got snakes to kill! Hang in there Aahz, help is on the way. Llivinoc! I think I may be able to help support the tunnel. I'm going to try freezing the moist earth so it won't collapse. And Kosan,... no offense master dwarf, but what you need is a good feline war song! There's nothing like a good roar to freeze your enemies blood!' The smile is as easy to hear as it is to see on his face.
Kemnebi points a finger into the tunnel behind Llivenoc, and sends a thin pale blue beam into the tunnel. He slowly raises it from the floor to the ceiling of the small tunnel and a thin layer of frost forms in it's path,...
Using Sor 0 lvl spell Ray of frost, trying to freeze the moist earth from floor to ceiling to build a support. (And I'm aimimg aarefully so as NOT to hit Llivenoc or Durr!) I'm aiming behind them, not where they are currently working.
"Durr,... What, exactly is wrong with the ground near you? Can you tell?,...' Kemnebi adds suddenly, his curiosity unable to keep him silent for long,...
Valegrim
With Llvenoc digging and you freezing where he directs; you can make a few columns and arches to provide support; gazing at it looks strangly web like... no problem missing Durr; he is digging elsewhere. LLvenoc is trying to free trapped party members on one side of hte T; Durr is on the other digging to a connect to a tunnel with air.
Valegrim
am I to assume you are leaving off digging out the party members and moving down the hallway to where Durr is digging for air?
also; just a note; depending upon the power of anticipated abberation; it might not have a field large enough to penetrate the thickness of the dirt and stone between you and possible creature/area X.
In the Mindlink: "Durr carefully back away from the Soft Earth." I draw my rapier to see if any flames start to dance upon my blade.
Val ** spoiler omitted **

I will stop digging, and move closer to Durr with my rapier in hand.
In the Mindlink: "I suggest everyone move away from where Durr is standing. Rather be safe than sorry... Someone with fast hands might want to continue my work." I gesture to where I was digging. "We might need Astinos and Kosan's skill at arms pretty quick."
