Valegrim I was looking for the information on the fey that you were suggesting. It was the newer things, the information I said I had skimmed over. I'd like to read it in detail. Post it here if you can. It seems that emails are off limits to me.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

fey; if your not fey; please do not read; important! Eileen background thoughts.

Spoiler:

this is how I envision you :)
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a143/foreveryoung255/evei.jpg

that would be no problem at all either and
even as a minotaur; just take a monster you like and apply the fey
bloodtype or template; working this all into the game is easy smeasy.
You could be one of many wonderful fey females; elf; dryad; sylph, or
something cool like female leprachaun hehe; there are lots of half
breeds and humans with a fey template that would be cool; decide
seelie or unseelie court; I can throw out a lot of ideas, but keep in
mind fey in my world are very tuned into humans and direct localities;

hehe editted this one for content iykwim

ok; bout your character. Rather than rolling randomly; I would like
your character, for story thread reasons, to be a fey that lives in
the central continent. the Sidhe ruler of this continent is named
Blarney Joe, King of the Leprachauns. Blarney Joe is a very powerful
Sidhe and is like number 3 or 4 under the Queen in power, meaning he
can do 9th level spells and is very, very old. Now about a decade ago;
an adventuring party under the guise of "doing the right thing to save
the world" smashed up some fey villages; killed some of Blarney Joe's
vassals, and generall caused a ruckus. To make matters worse; one of
the party; a certain Lorm Dragonheart; used great, powerful and
ancient magic to nearly awaken "they who shall not be named" (the Old
Ones, Cththulu himself actually). Blarney Joe headed a task force that
included some of the adventuring group at that time to stop him; the
group headed by the dwarf Balinor Stormwall, priest of Seker,
negotiated with Blarney Joe for reparations; the monitary sum was
payed on behalf of the party by the half orc Balfic Graa, Priest of
Shagrass. Seker is known by you to fight and destroy the undead; who
at the time had a literal death grip on your continent and who caused
the sun not to shine for four years. Adventually, the party with the
hero Balfic Graa doing most of the actual deed; did break the grip of
the undead and did restore the sunshine; make all the fey pretty happy
:) But Blarney Joe is not so trusting or forgiving; as part of
reparations; he also put the two, perhaps unseelie party members; an
elf ranger named Cera, known as Cera Bringer of Choas or "oh my god
its her; run for you life" and a druid halfling named Angela Cooper,
under the tutorship of the Dwarf to respect Fey; but doesnt seem to be
doing to well.

Strangely; the half orc and his henchmen; the human paladin and the
human wizard were kindly and caring and pushed the restoration; it had
all the fey quite confused; but over the last few years you and your
kin have heard disturbing stories of Cera and Angela. You will know
all of these characters by sight as you were there during court when
reparations were handed out. Cera is known to be a shape changer; she
is a Margoyle; like a gargoyle, but without wings and add a lot of
horns; Cera too is a shapechanger and is a halfling efreeti from the
plane of evil fire; word has it that the human mage Fytor; is a lost
prince; and the Half Orc Balfic; is really an elf cursed by the God
for some foul deed and is trying to work off his bad karma. the
Paladin Vladimir; recued a djinni princess and fell in love with her
and moved to the plane of air. Balfic's henchmen are Bones, Nickolai
and Sticks.

Blarney Joe is worried; unbeknownst to the party; he cast a spell that
will let him know if any of these party memebers ever lead or send
another group of heroes to his domain. heck; they darn near destroyed
the world last time; but they did do good; they just cannot be trusted
to watch out for fey interests; so his spell just went off warning him
that Balinor Stormwall; is going to send an adventuring party to do
something; Barney Joe is sending you to help them and to make sure
they dont blow the world up doing anything stupid; their just mortals
after all.

This background will allow you to be right smack into the thick of
things with lots of supporting characters to rely on for help if
needed. I would like to start you at the Ice pyramid whenever the
party gets their; as Blarney Joe will go there and take you with him
and make Balinor put you in the party and if they dont protect you; he
is gonna stake out the party on the biggest ant hill he can find and
poor sugar all over em; and believe me; Blarney Joe knows where to
find some big ants.

hehe.

ask as many questions as you like and I can flesh out all the details
you might need; We should probably work out some bargan between you
and Blarney Joe as for why you would do this task for him as it should
be a trade for equal value; maybe you need some information he will
sell for this task; or an item; or something. It should be something
important of equal debt; I am open to ideas; give it some thought. I
have some ideas; but you might have something awesome in mind.

Hope this is what you missed; were you able to get my post sent at 7:20am? if not tell me when to resend.

Yes, this is what I was looking for Valegrim, thanks. I had skimmed it before and was waiting for a day off to read it all the way through and give it some worthwhile thought. It shall be the first thing on my schedule tomorrow, that and yard work. I will repost here with my thoughts.

Female Elvish ( Its in my ears) Mother6/Wife6

I am sorry to say that both Dreamweaver and myself are going to have to pull ourselves from this game. We simply have been too busy with our girls and can only see ourselves getting busier as the summer moves along. We are having a hard enough time trying to keep up with the game he DM's and the other games we are in. We have enjoyed reading what you have so far and hope for no hard feelings.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

ah bummer; ok thanks for saying so.

Understandable hope you have a great summer. Maybe you could keep reading and at least enjoy the show;-)

Female(was Male) Human(or once was)

Val, Naomi was thinking on playing a druid.. she is still himming and hawwing but think she will start playing what would you suggest for her race as she is undecided on that. Probably not human but its a maybe. think she wants to eventualy be a master shapper or what ever its called.

male Human fighter 2/monk 3

just an FYI. My computer is crashed, and it's not going to be fixed before the weekend. This will be my last post for a while. Feel free to NPC me as necessary to keep the story moving.

Female Human, but I like to think of myself sometimes as Fey or Halfling :-)

Hey Val, this is Naomi. I've been wanting to create/play a druid in honor of the friend that got me into D&D in the first place. He passed away several years ago now, I miss him, his wife and son... The character I got to run briefly for him was a female druid of their creation. The main things I remember was she carried a bag of seeds with her always, she used them to sprout and entangle, and she was a shape shifter. Honestly I'm not sure how play by post works entirely, but thought I'd give it a try. I don't know what race would work best for this either... I usually play chaotic characters, mostly good, but I know that isn't really an option for a Druid. I will be playing a bit out of my element, but welcome the challenge. Let me know what you think.

- Fritholf (means Free-wolf) (aka Naomi Lee)

Dark Archive

Val, I might not be able to post in the next couple of days. I'm coming down with the flu. Please do hesitate to NPC, Rama. Thanks for your patience.

Cute picture you left me Valegrim. Ears are a little big though. I'm assuming your offering this as a portrait for my character, so if that is what your thinking, Thanks!

Spoiler:
I would be happy to pick things up by joining the party under the pretenses set above. Clearly there is a lot of background and NPC reaction/interaction and bear with me while I learn who these people are and sort out as much of this background as possible.

Now you said I need a fey thing to do, let's see, I have been thinking about this off and on. I'd like it to be something that is workable pretty much regardless of where we adventure off to.

Also, I am wondering about what terrain or locale my character shall have a tie towards and what are the consequences of leaving it should the adventure go that way (or am I physically unable to leave the area)?

Also if my character was around when the sun didn't shine for 4 years, I was thinking that perhaps that could have some serious consequences on the character's emotional or mental development. What do you think? Don't know for certain what it would be but I do like the idea.

A trade the task at hand, hmmmmm....something of fairly equal value. Let's see....How about an arrangement of power, be it my marriage, title, something like that. You know, use this opportunity to move up the ranks of feyhood.

You said this in your post:

ok; bout your character. Rather than rolling randomly; I would like
your character, for story thread reasons,

Ok, does this mean I do or don't have stats rolled up, level, etc. I'm wondering about the nuts and bolts of the character.

We decided I would be a halfing with a fey template, so that means I'm pretty much half halfing, half whatever fey we pick right? What books may I consult to determine the half-fey I would be? I'll be around Fri-Sun, Mon. Saturday is comic shopping and living room/dining room redecorating shopping day.

Thanks again for your assistance and understanding in ALL things, again, greatly appreciated as is your concern which you expressed. I'm good, ok, doing well. So once again thank you.

Valegrim, if you still need another player I'm interested in playing. It would be my first PbP and since everyone else here is learning your world at least I wouldn't be alone.

For something different I thought I'd just play a Dwarven fighter. I've browsed through most of this thread but haven't read all of it in depth yet until I get the nod from you.

If your fighter heavy I'd go a dwarven cleric instead.

I'll create a character as my alias soon as I get the nod.

Cheers

How about the name Lshay the Fey?

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Glad to have you; do you understand how we are rolls characters?
Roll him up and make him an alias of your; then I will look at your character; would like to start you at the Pyramid.

need you to roll two d6 and tell me each number so I can relate which dwarven clan you are from. Great choice; looking forward to seeing your character

Male Dwarf Cleric 6 (Earth and Protection Domain)

Hiya Valegrim, this is Wrath posting with his character, Erkholt Grugn

I've taken the dwarven cleric option as I think you have a few fighter types already. He follows Moradin which I believe is in your world. (has the Earth and protection domains)

I've taken a feat called Augment healing from the "Complete Divine: page 79). Let me know if I can use this book otherwise I'll swap the feat out for something from players handbook.

I havn't done a list of prepped spells yet as I wanted to know if you are allowing access to the spell compendium or not.

My equipment is all masterwork but nothing magical and I havn't done any gold as not sure what you wanted there.

My d6 rolls were 1 and 3 respectively.

I can post at least once a day but I'm living in Australia so my posts will probably occur at different times to you and the group. Hope this won't affect things too much.

Looking forward to getting into it.

Cheers

Sounds good; do you want to start at he pyramid or when the pc's get to he adventuring area; looks like your good now; you could easily join in at the pyramid since you have a name and a race and we could keep fleshing out the rest. Moradin's Avatar is here at the well right now; a very good reason for you to be here; to pray for guidance on how to serve your people. heh like you can see him over there talking to Dumathion, another Dwarven Diety Avatar.

outfit yourself with gold as you think is reasonable; keep in mind you have to carry it and civilization has been fairly destroyed so gold is not the currancy it once was. Barter is more often better when peoples are in direct survival mode.
__________

My d6 rolls were 1 and 3 respectively.
__________

This puts you with the dwarves in the central continent; but far to the left in the Greek penesula; your home hold is small and your clan is under the leadership of Tharnfist Holdhammer; 1st cousin to the Thane of your areas major hold farther away in the central continent.

you home hold has been smashed and your peoples scattered by the army directed by the Lord Ubel; whose name runs with infamy; a human anti paladin who commands large mob of gnolls and giants; they smashed your hold three years ago; your thane has sworn a deep grudge of blood debt. Also among your book of grudges are ghouls; carrion eaters of the dead that came to plague your homelands caverns after the darkness over the land was lifted and the sun once again began to shine. Also, your blood enemies are Orc's of the Blooddrenched Gauntlet; although they have come on bad times and have been pressed into the service of Lord Ubel. Best you know; was a serve or be eatin choice for them.

I can post at least once a day but I'm living in Australia so my posts will probably occur at different times to you and the group. Hope this won't affect things too much.

no worries about time you post; if you think it is an issue you can always put forth some rolls for the future and actions your character will do; things like that; I dont expect it to be a problem.

Looking forward to getting into it.

well, with one computer crash and one out sick; looks like there is some time to get everyone characters done; the meeting at the ice pryamid really needs to be in person as that will set the parties upcomming adventure.

Male Dwarf Cleric 6 (Earth and Protection Domain)

I'm keen to start at the Pyramid. I'll post on the game thread tonight with what I'm doing in the area and we can run with it from there if you'd like. I like the fact I can talk to Moradin's Avatar, though not sure I go about interrupting a conversation between two gods so I cna ask for directions.

I'll also post my list of prepped spells on the discussion thread if it makes it easier for you.

Will think about it some.

Male Dwarf Cleric 6 (Earth and Protection Domain)

I bought him a Mule (named Errol), kitted it out with about 500gp of supply goods.
Got a bag of gems about 50gp each
Got a bag of mixed coins (100gold, 100 silver)

Hopefully this isn't too extravagent. I worked the mule in by being a wanderer looking for guidance since the destruction of my Clanhold.

I've come to the well of Life to seek guidance in person from Moradin's Avatar.

Hiya Val, this is the daily list that Erkholt has prepared for general travel. This is for your general knowledge. The list will only change when I let you know

Also, what time of day do I need to pray to get my spells back?

0 level

Spoiler:
Create water, detect magic (x2), detect poison, purify food and water

1st level

Spoiler:
bless, divine favour, magic weapon, inhibit + (sanctuary)

2nd level

Spoiler:
divine protection, delay poison, hold person + (soften erath and stone)

3rd level

Spoiler:
dispel magic, mass conviction + (stone shape)

cheers

Erkholt; can pick the time he wants to pray; needs to be the same time everyday; here is how it works; you pray for spells; and a messenger from the diety brings them to you for spells 3rd and higher; the more powerful the spell; the more powerful the messanger. First and second level spells you can get anywhere without a messenger. Will look at your spells when I get a chance but doubt there is an issue.

OK - Got profile input - here's my background rolls: 91, 43, 100, 1, 97, 33, 81, 20, 51, 66

Also, could not find appropriate food for wolf - cost, wt, etc since wolves don't eat "feed" as horses would - what would you suggest?

Well; about the same as human rations; in these days most cutures eat a lot of meat still on the bone; you could get it uncooked is you wanted; bones and scraps for dogs is common and would be free or a few coppers; here in the swamp there is so much life it is not a problem; a hour hunting and a wolf could eat his fill easily.
