Darvyl Wrightson |

Satyr - Feral Overture - dogs gain +1 to hit and +2 to damage until end of piper's next turn. All dogs use Harrying Bite (move 4 squares and attack at any point in the move - moving away from a foe does not provoke OA). Dog 2 hits Nechtan. Dog 3 hits Nechtan. Dog 1 hits Nechtan Damage = 1d6+5 x3 = 27 damage to Nechtan
The drunken goat-man pipes a whirling reel that seems to whip the dogs into a frenzy. The hounds savage the Krutne ranger.

Nechtan of the Krutne |

Nechtan moves to engage the goat-man, and slices with both of his weapons.
R13. Hunter's Quarry. Twin Strike vs AC (1d20+8=10, 1d10+2=7, 1d20+7=9, 1d6+1=7, 1d8=6) IC doesn't like me tonight, that's three 2's I've got on d20's.

Block 3
Nechtan
Greylan
The satyr bobs and weaves, avoiding Nechtan's attacks in spite (or because of) his sozzled state. Greylan comes running from the cliff-top, "What's going on? I heard the usual sounds of unabashed violence..."
Block 1's turn.

Ynyr the Artificer |

"Now this is not what music should be, is it?"
With a wry look at Healaugh, Ynyr throws his dagger at the Satyr.
Magic weapon against the Satyr vs. AC (1d20+9=10, 1d4+4=7)
That would be a miss then...

Fabes DM |

The satyr's fur gets singed and he recoils from Ddraig's attack, "My, yer a biggun. Well, let's see what me pals have to say on the matter, sure."
With that the fey creature blows a merry jig on his pipes, a tune that makes you want to dance for joy such is its beauty. The hounds race back to the fight.
Satyr - shift to T14. Close burst 5 - Leaping Stag Dance - allies may shift 2 squares immediately.
Block 2.... FIGHT!

Healaugh |

Dourly shaking his head, Healaugh shifts back a pace and jabs his trusty wand at the satyr.
"Tha's in wrong key. Hooves must be placed wrong."
The sneer in the halfling's voice gives extra potency to his words.
Vicious Mockery v Satyr (on hit, Satyr is a -2 to attacks to end of its next turn) (1d20 6=24, 1d6 5=10). That's v Will. Shift to N10.

Darvyl Wrightson |

Darvyl advances on the dogs, grinning and slashing.
Move to P11, combat challenge dog 1, Darvyl atk dog 1 (1d20+10=23, 1d8+3=9, 1d20+11=28, 1d6+3=6)

Fabes DM |

Dog 1 is bloodied. Dog 1 attacks Darvyl - misses. Dog 2 uses Harrying Bite (moving away from target does nor provoke OA) and hits Ddraig - 23 vs AC for 4 damage to Ddraig Dog 3 attacks Darvyl and hits 24 vs AC - 5 damage to Darvyl Dog 4 attacks Nechtan - misses.
The dog pack splits its attention between the two groups of heroes and the friends are harried by bites and baying.
Nechtan's turn.

Nechtan of the Krutne |

Nechtan steps into the middle of the dog pack, and strikes all around with his claymore.
Hunter's Quarry on Dog4. Shift to Q12. Dire Wolverine Strike vs D1,3,4 AC (1d20+8=23, 1d20+8=21, 1d20+8=13, 1d10+5=8) In the unlikely event of a hit on Dog4, he takes an extra d8 for Quarry.

Ynyr the Artificer |

"Now will somebody just tell me what is going on here? Dogs and folk who can't play music... Now what would that mean, I ask you?"
Pulling himself together sufficiently to realise that the fight is for real, he imbues his dagger with a Fiery infusion and throws it for an area burst 1 centred on S13.
1d20+8 vs dog 4 and satyr respectively: 23 vs. reflex, 24 vs. reflex. which if it hits does 1d4+4=5 damage to each. Regardless of hits or not, Ddraig will do an additional 2 fire damage on all mellee attacks until the end of Ynyr's next turn.

Ddraig Goch |

Stepping forward (to S14), Ddraig uses his Divine Strength and Righteous Smite on the Satyr
Rolls: 1d20+8 = 19+8 = 27 v AC; 2d8+4+4 = 1+3+4+4=12 damage, plus additional 2 fire damage from Ynyr = 14 damage.
As an effect of hitting with Righteous Smite, all allies within 5 squares (i.e. everyone including me) gain 6 temporary hit points.
"Who says you can't stop the music? I will make you cease!"

Fabes DM |

That hits. Cease your calculations, mathematician!
The satyr quails at Ddraig's attack, "Ah, d'ye know, I'll never see fair Mistress Inge again!"
Gore vs Ddraig - misses. Move to X8. OA from Ddraig - 20 vs AC. Misses.
The satyr leaps away on his goaty legs, albeit in a sozzled manner.
Block 2
Healaugh
Darvyl
Hunting Dogs
BLOCK 2!

Healaugh |

Apologies. I did check this morning, but you must have edited it in the interim. Or I must have missed it. Shift to P11 to avoid covering rocks.
Healaugh shakes his head sadly at the satyr. "Tha shouldna have used dogs like that. Bad as abusing music that is. Happen you'll see sense when our Graylan takes whack at tha."
Misdirected Mark (Will). (1d20 6=24, 1d8 5=7). On hit, satyr is marked by Graylan (who has the longest range) to the end of Healaugh's next turn.
Fabes
Pat is away this weekend I believe. You may want to roll for Darvyl.

Fabes DM |

I rolled for Darvyl. He hit. Both times. Sigh. Remaining dog double runs off the map. It is now 20 squares away from its starting position, running across dunes.
With unholy glee, Darvyl smashes another dog into the ground. The last hound left alive runs away towards the beach proper, across the dunes heading east.
Block 3
Nechtan
Greylan

Nechtan of the Krutne |

Nechtan drops his claymore and moves ahead. He draws his spare handaxe, and hurls both at the satyr.
Free Drop. Move to S11. Draw Minor. Twin Strike vs AC (1d20+7=26, 1d6+1=2, 1d20+6=25, 1d6=1) Assuming that the first axe hits, activate the Frost axe's daily power cold damage (1d8=8) and satyr is slowed til end of Nechtan's next turn.

Healaugh |

"Aye, well, that's going to happen like when tha attacks folk unprovoked. Put dogs on lead next time and happen there won't be such misunderstandings."
Healaugh sits down and thinks for a minute, trying to remember anything helpful about satyrs and their ways. Nature check on satyrs (1d20 9=25).
A lot seems to be coming back to him.

Fabes DM |

Healaugh sits down and has a think, contemplative-like, and remembers the tales he's heard of the ebullient and tricksy goat-fey. They're said to enjoy alcohol of all kinds and to be beguiled by beauty in the opposite sex, especially in humans and elf-kind. They can be bribed with gems or alcohol but can be unpredictable.
Nowt like a good halfling sit-down to get the memory going.

Ynyr the Artificer |

The fight happened so quickly that Ynyr is still not quite up to speed on what is happening
"Now what is this now? I see dogs doing vicious things to my friends and now there are no dogs are there? And who is this sozzled creature, here? And, Healaugh, have a care now, as I don't think he's quite up to a hurdy-gurdy recital, do you know?"
