Healaugh with an accordian .... the mind boggles. It is just the kind of idiot thing he'd do as well. Can't carry food or any actual essentials of life because the accordian is more important.
Absolutely, I can relate to that. Food you can get anywhere but what is life without music?

I just got a gig playing my neices wedding with a string quartet they have 2 viola's, a cello, and electric bass, but the bass player can't make it, so I volunteered (we're just doing Pachellbel's Canon in Gmajor while she walks down the aisle. I'm not much of a chart reader but I have 2 weeks to learn the song..I'm good with rote.

Yes, I'll be there a week from Saturday, so break out the Watney's bleeding red barrel!! (not sure if that's funny to you but I heard it on Python)
Although, it was 104 F here last week-awful, and the midwest is under water so I'm not sure that will help with the weather thing. I will have fun in 40-80 F (not sure if your C or F)temp range rain or shine.
I'll be over in Somerset checking out Avebury and Stonehenge, castles, abbeys, and the caves in Cheddar and Wookey, as well as Exemore (might not have spelled that right) park, then for US independance day I'll be surveying the fleet In Portsmouth (The HMS Victory) on my way to Dover and a ferry ride to France (I have a friend in Compiegne)
The wife and I and my boys 6 and 8 in tow, of course we picked the worst year in history to travel (as the dollar is worth about half a pound or euro)but it can't be helped, we were waiting to visit my friend till the kids were old enough to travel and this is it(ie no diapers etc)and decided to visit your fair country on the way!

Wow - that sounds like quite a holiday you have planned. Have a wonderful time.
You're going to be a long way south of us, but we'll raise some kind of glass to your arrival on our shores. Won't be Watney's Red Barrel, more likely John Smith's or Black Sheep (from our local brewery), but the thought will be there.
Avebury is one of the two scariest places I've ever been to. Much more so than Stonehenge. When Thrugnipp and I went to Avebury a few years ago, you could walk right up to the stones which are just standing around near a rather idyllic village. It's just very, very odd and eerie. Stonehenge is mostly shut away and you can't get close to the circle. Exmoor is beautiful and wild (quite similar to the Yorkshire Dales where we live). You'll see at first hand what the Treasure Hunt island looks like.
I'm sure you and your family will have a fantastic time - even with the dollar mis-behaving. England's small, but it packs a lot in. :D

Coming to Portsmouth? You fool! On the plus side, Victory is a gorgeous ship (I'm not a huge fan of Warrior that's also sat there) even if it makes me want tobe a pirate!
The weather in Portsmouth is currently sunny so it may hold out for you and your visit.
I'm sure you'll love Avebury too, there's something so very relaxing about that place, but watch out for the druids (really, get them talking and they don't stop!) :)

You find Avebury relaxing? I can honestly say I've only ever been more creeped out by Delphi (I know that's not correct grammatically, but it is an accurate description). The village is so perfect and nestled and safe and then there are these big stones just sitting there like indifferent guardians calling to something much older and a lot more dangerous.
Also, there was a very noticeable temperature change when we got close to them. I was creeped.

You find Avebury relaxing?
Yep, to me the rocks feel right, they belong there and it's just so peaceful there. Then again I've always thought that if I was in a story I'd be the one who'd end up in trouble/somewhere odd because of my instinct to find the weirdest of things nice/relaxing/cute - "Hey look! A swirling vortex, now isn't that pretty? *gets sucked in to it*"

I'll be spotty for the next week or so, as there's no internet access where we're staying. (I did convince my wife that bringing the laptop is a good idea tho) Is wifi big over there? (/me parked at the side of the road somewhere in Somerset due to Paizo addiction-"What's all this then?" "uh nothing sir, I was just checking my Play by Posts" sound of truncheon and man slumping over keyboard) but once in France I'll be set (My friend there does most of his work over the net)

Lots of wifi to be exploited, our wii picked up four unprotected connections when we first got it so it is everywhere, in fact I think a lot of the phoneboxes in Portsmouth are wifi enabled now, bizarre.

Ok, the time has come to talk of leaving games and... well this one is depressingly slow and a bit of a disappointment whenever I come to look at it.
The characters and set up is good but nothing has happened for too long. Luckily I play with some of you in other games so I don't mind dropping out on this one.
All the best with the game everyone and see you around.
Cheers

Well, I did have a great time in England, and France was ok, but we missed some of our key sightseeing in France due to a couple days worth of stomach-bugs. I wasn't able to log on much in Somerset, except of all places the Burtle Inn, which has wifi in the middle of no where..but as it was my wife's birthday I really couldn't spend much time online :/ I'm home now and sorry to hear about both Kamris (Fabes) leaving the other game and French Wolf leaving this one! :(
It is slow, but I think the point of generics is a more storyish experience, in fact, if it went faster, (the last 2 weeks nonwithstanding) I might feel a bit pressed for time myself...plus It's FUN!! :)

Would any of you chaps be interested in taking part in a PbP game once this had finished? I did contemplate carrying on with these chaps but I don't really fancy continuing to DM 3.5.
I have several ideas for 4E or another rpg (a swords and sorcery one a la Conan).
| FabesMinis |
OK. :D
I shall expand a little on my two ideas:
1) 4E core game - all the core assumptions in place, taking place in Nentir Vale and environs
2) Swords and sorcery Conan style game using this system ZeFRS
OR these others have occured to me:
3) 4E swords and sorcery - martial classes only with multiclassing into warlock and wizard
4) 4E Wuxia - martial artists fly around fighting Oni and Shirokinukatsukami (not really) :D
