No wonder Tresmeer is missing if girls are starting to strip next to him. Can he be hit next? He'd like some of that. However he hasn't washed in several weeks and then it was in a river....
It's so much easier DM'ing, you don't care so much about muffing dice rolls, do you?
Good thought that. If Siobhan and mystery girl go into an inpromptu burlesque routine, it might slow Hafkris down.
My dice rolls are always rubbish. It's a big feature of my rpg life.

Haha, oh sure, blame the medic for the bad dice rolls :P
...although burlesque distraction may possibly be needed with how badly the dice roller is treating us!
I usually play the medic and I am completely terrible at healing anyone. My patients stay comatose and die.
The only success with healing I've ever had was using the variant Psionics rules - I have a distressingly cute Death Cleric with maxed psychic healing in a home game.
Healaugh is total pants at this rock chucking thing, but what choice does the little man have? Go with the burlesque - we need all the help we can get.

"Hey Hafkris! Look! Boobies!"
Seems a perfectly valid tactic at this point! Especially for Siobhán, str 8 and dex 10 do not lend themselves to any sort of real combat prowess
I like support characters so I find healers fun, but with my varied luck (I'm usually either really lucky or really unlucky - I tend to avoid middling ground!) my success varies wildly

Go for it. How about a flanking attack from Siobhan's boobies and Healaugh pulling a Chippendale's routine flanking movement? Since Hafkris is drunk and we don't know his tastes?
I play healers a lot too. Love them, but boy oh boy, not good with them dice.

Hahaha, that would be all sorts of awesome. "Quick everyone! Get nekkid! That'll confuse him!"
I play support characters or DM so often that recently I've been all "Dibs on the fighter type!" - which is how I ended up with my paladin of freedom & battledancer, my dice seem to favour my wanting to kick butt too as I rolled well for statting them both. My dice can be quite special like that, they seem to like deciding things for me..

Love it. After all, we can't really do much worse and I'll bet not too many parties try that as a tactic. Though how Fabes gets any kind of results would be interesting.
I played so much years ago and then stuff happened and it all stopped. Just getting back into rpg and every day reminds me why I loved it in the first place. Not DMing yet (husband wants to test drive Rise of the Rune Lords - which will be excellent and I'm trying not to nag him to hurry up and get sorted).
I'm just gradually working my way through all the races and classes until I find the one that rolls up well for me. Used to be Druids I loved - not sure any more - it's all very different to 1E. Better too I think.

It's the sort of tactic the group I run for might come up with, then again they're good at coming up with ideas that have me bashing my head against the wall. I haven't been DMing long and I run prewritten APs (just finished Age of Worms and am now running Shackled City and after that they want Savage Tide!) I'm slowly getting better at improvising but still have moments of 'Gah! Don't use that tactic, please! it makes my head hurt and I've yet to read far enough ahead to see how that will affect things later!' *twitch!*
I'm sure you'll love Rise of the Runelords, my husband *waves at the lovely Paul T* is running it for us - it took us ages but we're now into adventure two, we're a very high RP group. I actually have an IC diary for my character in the campaign journals that you may find an amusing read after you've got into the swing of things (I'd obviously not recommend it now as it's spoilertastic :P)
I love druids too, my second ever D&D character was an elven druid, I adored her to bits. I found her character sheet again the other day and was all 'Eeee! it's Quamara!' and otherwise very girly over it!

I'll look at your journal once we get going - always fun seeing what other people come up with.
Saw your Age of Worms thing and was very very tempted, but not knowing any of the background and being very new to pbp, seemed like a bad idea to volunteer. Although ... if you ever get a third group going ...

Hahaha! Dear gods don't tempt me with a third group! Going for a second group was bad enough! As for background stuff, I'm happy to help with that; my age of worms PBP is set in Faerun with a few tweaks along the way to make it work a little better so even knowing cannon won't help entirely. If you're still interested things are still in the early stages and I'm happy to talk you through character creation and background bits and bobs that might help. Group #2 is currently only at 4 people so an extra character could only be a benefit - plus they're oodles of fun, I keep giggling a lot at their interactions!
Why not have a nosy at their IC thread and see if it's of interest? :)

Reading Mikel's posts, and almost all of group 2's posts always makes me smile. I'm so glad I decided to be a pushover, I adore both my AoW groups!
And Rosey; Faerun, The Forgotten Realms is a lovely world setting but you need not know a lot about it to join in. Especially if you play a character who's lived in the starting town all of their life and isn't very knowledgable of geography or history - your character could just know as little about the Realms as you do ;)

This is a very dangerous conversation. All weekend I have been watching your second AoW game, Kayos. I even statted up three different clerics, Lathander human, Tempus human and Sollonor Thelandira elf with a bow.
Rev looking at the play thread already and the rp nature of the start I think it would be a good game to join. And Age of Worms is great from everything I have seen and heard.
Cheers

Hee! Any of those clerics would be more than welcome Wolfy ;) There does seem to be something about AoW in the realms that attracts Lathanderites! in my tabletop game I had a cleric of Pelthander (I started out with a Realms conversion but didn't have time to keep up with it with running on a weekly basis so it slowly morphed into Greyhawk, thus the player decided to create the bastard offspring god of Pelor and Lathander!) and group one has a servant of the morning lord :)

Okidoke hun, I look forward to finding out either way :) And enjoy your trip ;)
And falls to temptation ...
If you still want me, I'm in. Not sure as what yet.
Whoo! Group 2 are in discussion here and I'm around to offer help/advice on creating something for you :)

Hey is it my fault that I am the group beatstick that can't roll dice for crap and the aristocrat girl ends up taking down our foe with the help of two commoners and an expert meatshield...I mean expert? ;) I didn't askes the drunk pirate to be a jerk, but he had it coming to him and I kind of wanted his rum too. Besides Bran feels naked without any armour on.

I was just in the garage looking for Under Illefarn and I came across my copy of Treasure Hunt instead. Sometimes I can never find the book I want.
The funny thing is that even though I have run this scenario, I always forget so much when I'm playing. That definitely helps with the metagaming aspect of this.
I did remember Hafkris and he nearly defeated the party I ran on his own.
Didn't find Under Illefarn, have to look again tomorrow. I wonder what I'll find then.

Yay for random RP discoveries - I found the character sheets for some old characters from my tabletop group the other day (it turns out the hubby always hangs onto these things) so if people in my AoW PBPs are very (un)lucky they may come across one of my old relams characters as an NPC as she's there and all statted :P
But yes, Hafkris was kind of scary - I could easily see him smushing some low end wannabe adventurers!

That's great. I hope your guys appreciate them when they meet.
I recently started running the Temple of Elemental Evil again for a group of friends. When I opened the module, there was penciled in how far my best mate got last time I DM'ed the scenario. That was 27 years ago.
It was one helluva a memory jolt for me.

*whispers*... but I really wanted to try the burlesque flanking manouvere ...
Hahaha. Maybe next time ;) It's a good a tactic as any for Siobhán as I see her praying for a lot of healy magic so she'll still be useless as all hell in a fight :P
That was 27 years ago.
*Suddenly feels very young!*

Heh, I know poor Siobhán (á, é í, ó & ú are the only accents I ever use as I know the shortcuts for them :P) is working on the theory she's going to need to pray a lot and really hard to get her spells - but she's faithful and hopes that if she lets Earthmother know how hurt Conall is she might be granted a cure spell or two :P
Kayos.

The entry is a little ambiguous. Adepts do have symbols they use as a divine focus. From the wording it would appear she doesn't need the holy symbol to pray to gain her spells.
I like the idea that she's used to using her holy symbol to pray though, so if she doesn't find it or an adequate replacement she may have difficulties getting some, or indeed any, of her spells.
