"Luh'lemme get my lockpick.", Pavel says, pulling out his morningstar.
"In the muh'meantime, let's get ready with some fire for these truh'trolls. Only thing that can keep 'em from cuh'comin' back."
Pavel attempts to break the beautiful door down.

From behind the door, a feminine voice, filled with the lacy punctuations of Tien, speaks in Skald.
Theoden Orrick
Theoden grins. "She wants to talk. She has invited us to join her." Theoden starts to enter but then stops immediately turning back to the others. "Oh and one other thing, and she was quite serious when she mentioned this." He looks down at their feet. "She requested we clean our shoes before we enter." he says, grinning, as he makes sure his boots are clean as best as possible before making his way inside.
Raith Shadar
"I guess we're not talking", Raith draws his sword. "Waste of time to clean my boots." He doesn't bother to clean his boots. He follows Pavel in.

Garand Stone-of-the-Moon

communal protection from evil, 2 minutes for Theoden, 1 minute each for Pavel, Raith and himself. +2 deflection bonus to AC, +2 resistance bonus to saves.
The Celestial Bureaucracy
The very air seems to change as you enter this peaceful room, as though you had traveled from Kalsgard to Minkai simply by walking through that door...
Teak paneling covers the walls, and the floor is of polished wood. Along the walls, wooden columns rise to the ceiling above, bearing banners emblazoned with pictograms from far-off Tian Xia. Above these hang small oil lamps that give off a dim glow.
The ceiling of this grand chamber rises twenty feet overhead, its heavy beams serving as both rafters and supports for the great hall above.
On your right, four doors can be found, while two rest on the far wall
Near the far wall, a tian screen depicting a crane fighting or dancing with a snake stands partially unfolded and erect. From behind, a clear feminine voice welcomes you: "Let us speak in the tongue of Taldor, then. I'm sorry we have to meet this way. We have masters of opposing views, yes? And it is my duty to protect the dominion of my master. I must say, I miss Kasai's hot springs the most. I look forward to returning, after I've accomplished my purpose in the forsaken country! I am Omoyanu, and I trained the shadows you've killed. I am a pragmatic though, and don't believe in wasteful vengeance. Perhaps we can find a way to shift your allegiance, yes?"
She's behind the screen in D-E/3-4, but you can't see her. You can say something, but any "attack" will start the round per round (I will roll initiative). The area is dimly lit, but not to the point of granting concealment.
Theoden Orrick
Theoden looks curiously in the direction of the screen, an eyebrow raised. Okay... "Madam, I am curious to hear what this 'allegiance' entails. I also am quite curious as to what exactly your purpose here is within our country. And your pragmatism is much appreciated, Madam," he nods to the unseen woman.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
The Celestial Bureaucracy
"Mmmh... Theoden is it? You are the son of Felden, are you not? Mmmh yes... By allegiance, I mean for you to only tell us where to find your liege, and look the other way while we simply have him... disappear. As for my purpose here, it is only to have him disappear, though I am passing the time training good soldiers of the shadow."
Raith Shadar
Raith grimaces. He says, "Who might your liege be?" We'll be looking to lay him in his grave since this is a war of kings. Take the king down, the army falls with it. You'll be the first one we take down.
I'm tossing in some internal thoughts since she may have telepathy. The above is what I would consider surface thoughts she might pick up on.
Theoden Orrick
"A good question that." Theoden wondering that himself. "And yes. Yes it is. And I am. But I must confess, I cannot allow such to happen. And even if I were, my fellow companions most assuredly would not. So, having said that, what if we were to offer you a form of allegiance. And by that I mean, you could aid us in bringing down these Frozen Shadow people. Imagine this, once we are able to rid the land of them, they would honor you as a hero! How fantastic would that be, hm?" he asks rhetorically. "Would you be so inclined to join the fight for good? My friends here would welcome any assistant you might provide in stopping this group." As he speaks, Theoden glances over to the others, noticing they are prepared when worse comes to worst. As he finishes, "So, what say you, madam?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22
Pavel
Pavel keeps silent, but the look on his face suggests that he's more than ready for this conversation's inevitable end. He keeps his eye on the doors, ready for what is more than likely going to come out of them.
Perception (just in case): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

The female voice sings it seems as it answers Theoden and Raith in an accented Taldan: "Mmmh. Then we are at an impasse, yes? For my liege is none other than the rightful Regent of Minkai. Put in place by Emperor Higashiyama before he isolated himself from the assassins that were after him. If truly you wish to serve Minkai, then you should bow to its rightful leader, yes..? This is what you call "the fight for good", yes?"
Pavel
Pavel snorts derisively.
"Hmph. Wuh'wastin' yer breath, Theoden. Shigure, the ruh'rightful Emperor of Minkai was muh'murdered years ago and she thuh'thinks we're dumb enough to believe her over the Kame. Or that we're fuh'fickle enough to turn on our friends...."
With a flick of his wrist, he casually marrs some the delicate carvings on the nearest column with his sword.
"... or cowed enough to just let it slide that she had Izumi tortured to death and stuffed in a box.", he growls. "Even if you changed yer mind, lady, I'm making you pay for that."
Raith Shadar
Raith falls into the Crane. "I would say the 'fight for good' is decided by who you serve and how you conduct yourself. Seems as my friend Pavel said, you've already shown us who you fight for. They don't seem 'good' at all."
You aren't getting any information out of me you b*~~@. I know your game. Bring out your trolls and let's talk like we both know we want to.
Theoden Orrick
Theoden looks to Pavel a bit taken aback over this information. "Murdered, you say?" Turning back to the hidden woman, "Well, madam, in light of this information I was unaware of, I would have to agree that we have arrived at an impasse. Would I gather correctly if I were to say you have no intention of surrendering and giving us the information needed to help bring your liege to justice?"
The Celestial Bureaucracy
"Hmmm... Now how would you know of this, yes? I'm afraid I'll have to kill you, after all, yes?"

”Hmmm... Before you destroy everything, perhaps you should be made aware of the bigger picture, yes?” The screen falls forward, revealing two people hiding behind it. One is a fair woman of proud bearing, carrying a mace as tall as her. With her is an older man bearing the insignia of the local watch. His demeanour is sullen though and he looks at the floor, avoiding eye contact.
”I am Thorborg Silverskorr!” says the lady, ”I lead the Rimerunner Guild, yes? And the Frozen Shadow too...” her voice is thick with mixed accents of Skald and Tian. ”But I can count on the support of others in my work. Perhaps you’ve met my good friend: the Taldan Captain Felden Orrick? He makes sure the Watch looks the right way...”
The man keeps his eyes on the floor as he speaks with a soft sad voice: ”Theoden... I- I’m so sorry...” as he draws a long knife casting a blue glow.
