The Ogon Fox
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
The Fox, tired as he is, takes little notice of his surroundings, and even less of the hidden figure which shadows him above...
The Ogon Fox
Stealth 1d20+20 vs Fox’s Perception check (again)...
The ninja drops down behind Fox, as silent as snow falling, and draws her wakizashi...
Oof! Yeah, I can't possibly beat that with a Perception roll. My flat-footed AC is 15. At the point when I am no longer flat-footed, I'll still have the -2 Dex from being fatigued, so my normal AC will be 16.
Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund
The Holy Roman Emperor, Sigismund Wittelsbach, sits in his comfortable throne in his imperial palace and listens to the music played by a trio of bards, meistersingers from his home land of Bohemia...
They play a motet by Japanese composer Toshio Okumura, the sweet strains echoing like fairy voices in his chamber...
I must commission this brilliant composer to write for me a processional march or some water music to listen to as I ply the Rhine... Such exquisite beauty... aural poetry...
The Ogon Fox
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 1 = 12
The Fox's ears stiffen as he hears those words: Your time is up... Then, just as he is beginning to turn around....
What happens as he begins to turn? =)
Boga
In the morning Zagathoth seems both more chipper and less well rested than normal. After loading up a heaping plate of breakfast he sits down next to the healer. ”Guten morgan,” he says grinning widely, ”Der Vater sagte zu fragen Sie über Sex Krankheiten ...”
** spoiler omitted **
Boga shifts uncomfortably in his chair. His face reddens as he looks heavenward and crosses himself, "Mein Gott..." Slowly he turns and faces Zagathoth, "It is good that you come to me and ask these questions, but these things are best discussed in private, not at the breakfast table. Perhaps when we are done eating, you can join me in the library for a discussion?" Boga's visage is inquisitive and slightly pleading. "I must talk to the Cardinal about this. What has he gotten me into?"
Later, in the library (with the candlestick, lol)
After breakfast, Boga goes and sits in a comfortable chair in the library and waits for Zagathoth. He closes his eyes and contemplates his words. Once Zagathoth enters, he gestures towards a chair and says, "Come; have a seat."
Boga clears his throat, "As I said before, it is good that you have come to me with this. I heard... we all heard your, ahh, activities of last night. As Lucius has obviously told you, certain afflictions can be passed during... such activities. It is important to pay attention to your health... down there, whenever you engage in such. If you notice any changes: redness, differences in sensation, texture, itching... really, any change at all, it may need medical attention. Let me know if any such thing happens. Questions?" He breathes a sigh as he gets all that out, "A sex talk with an Orc? Really!? The mysteries of the Lord are limitless..."
The Ogon Fox
Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Spellcraft check to recognize the spell: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
"Anata wa watashi o son'nani kantan ni shibaranaideshou, shinobu," the Fox says as he settles into a defensive stance.
Assuming it's now my turn.
Ogon steps away carefully (5ft step) and casts a spell of his own: Blur. The Fox's form becomes somewhat faded, indistinct.
Koga Hexagon Shinobi Assassin
The ninja’s dark eyes (the only visible part of her under her black garments) barrow as Fox becomes blurry and indistinct... She lashes out with her wakizashi with blinding speed, drawing a second blade with her off hand...
Wakizashi Shadow 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 misses! Move action to draw second wakizashi Whisper...
The Ogon Fox
For now, the Fox acts purely in defense. He dodges the ninja's first strike deftly.
Doing Total Defense for my action, which gives +4 to my AC.
He asks calmly, "Naze anata wa watashinojinsei o ubaou to shite imasu ka?"
Johann Kaltgeboren- Dire Bear!

The bear spends the hours sleeping away in Father Lucius's courtyard, blissfully unaware of the danger confronting his friend the Fox. That is, until a small little bird lands nearby.
Koga Hexagon Shinobi Assassin
Shadow wakizashi 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 cuts Fox’s guarding forearm, dealing 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 slashing damage! Hasty slice 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 cuts again for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 more slashing damage! Iterative strike 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 misses! Whisper wakizashi 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 misses by inches as Fox dodges backward... Total slashing damage = 12...
After dealing two shallow cuts to Fox’s right forearm, the kunoichi answers his query in whispered Japanese: The shogūn, Ashikaga Yoshinori, grandson of the shogūn who placed a generous bounty on your head, has promised to honor his dead grandfather’s decree... The bounty on your head would feed the Koga Hexagon Clan for a long time, Fox-San... I am sorry... I must follow orders!
Orpheus Thrush
The bear spends the hours sleeping away in Father Lucius's courtyard, blissfully unaware of the danger confronting his friend the Fox. That is, until a small little bird lands nearby.
Landing on Bear’s great, shaggy head, and pecking it with his little beak, Orpheus chirps as loudly as he can into Bear’s ear: Oh, please awaken, Mister Bear! My master, Mister Fox, is in grave danger!
As Bear snorts and awakens, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, the little thrush chirps again: Follow me, quickly, Mister Bear! and zips away toward where Fox fights for his life in the street against the Koga Shinobi assassin...
Sifu Scorpion
As Fate decrees, the Koga Hexagon Clan shinobi assassin was not the only hunter stalking the Fox this evening... From the roof of a nearby pottery shop, Master Scorpion watches as the black-clad assassin drops down behind his quarry, casting a spell of haste, and slashing two wounds in his right arm in a blindingly fast flurry of dual wakizashi strikes!
He listens to their quiet exchange... Perception 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34 successfully!
Then he dives from the rooftop...Acrobatics 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (20) + 28 = 48 with supreme grace, into a somersault that puts him adjacent to the Fox and the ninja!
Poahhā! Kono kitsune wa watashi no monodesu!
Initiative for round 2 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Sifu Centipede
But yet another watcher now intervenes!
Watching from the shadows of the doorway of a closed glassblower’s shop across the street from the pottery shop, Master Centipede (an old fellow student of Master Scorpion’s) steps out of the shadows and moves adjacent to the combatants with startlingly swift and silent steps!
Sifu Centipede
Sukōpion wa anata o sukuu tame ni koko ni imasen, misutā Fokkusu... Watashi wa anata ga ima nigeru koto o o susume shimasu... Watashi wa sorera o ryōritsu sa seyou to shimasu!
Initiative for round 2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Sifu Scorpion
Glancing sidelong at the newcomer wearing Buddhist monk’s garb and a round bronze jingasa on his head, Sifu Scorpion sneers and says in Chinese-accented Japanese so all can comprehend his exchange with his old former training mate from the Temple of the Five Venoms on Wudong Mountain:
Dakara, anata wa jibun jishin no tame ni onkei o shuchō shinai koto ni kimemashita, masutā jifeide? Shinjimasen!
Sifu Centipede
Sorekara watashi no yō ni anata wa kono kitsune o shiranai... Anata wa kare ga subarashī ongakukadeari, tengoku kara no okurimonoda to iu koto o shiranai!
In Cantonese: I cannot allow you to kill this musical genius, my brother... It would be a terrible taint on your karma!
Sifu Centipede
Flurry of blows against Sifu Scorpion... 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27 breaks Scorpion’s nose for 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 damage! 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 is blocked! HAP!! HYAA!! HUP!! HUP!! HAA!! Master Centipede unleashes a flurry of punches and kicks, but lands only the first punch, which breaks Master Scorpion’s nose! *CRUNCHHH!!*
Koga Hexagon Shinobi Assassin
The kunoichi vanished into thin air after making a swift hand kanji symbol!
Swift action vanishing trick...
She reappears behind the Fox, thrusting Shadow wakizashi at Fox’s neck! 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31 with 1-20 on d% a miss 1d100 ⇒ 12 misses!
Fox’s blur spell saves him from what might’ve been a fatal strike to his throat!
Michael Johnson 66
Orpheus leads Bear south down the cobbled via leading to where Fox is engagedin a grim dance of life and death with a kunoichi and a kung fu master, both intent on collecting the princely bounty on his furry head! It is 300 feet, so it will take a total of four rounds to get through the gate and down the street to where the combat takes place at Bear’s speed of 40 feet per move action... Bear can then roll Initiative for round 5 I believe...
The Ogon Fox
The Fox cries in pain at the two slashes to his arm. Then he looks on in astonishment as Sifu Centipede rushes to his defense.
in Japanese: "Truly, you will fight on my behalf, Sifu Centipede? You honor me."
5ft step again; so I have space from the ninja and Sifu Scorpion, but I'm next to Sifu Centipede.
"Then accept this aid from me," he says as he makes arcane gestures and words again, followed by a touch on Sifu Centipede's shoulder.
The Fox casts his second prepared slot of blur on Sifu Centipede. No total defense this round since my standard was used casting, so AC is back to 16.
Quinlan Ifrean
Quinlan spends his down time quietly studying and walking the grounds. He can often be seen slowly meandering around the gardens with his spell book in hand. His horns and the way he walks make him look quite like a studious goat. A she passes Zagathoth the morning after his rather loud sexcapades he simply gives the orc a curt bow and says with as straight a face as he can manage "My champion" before walking away.
Sifu Scorpion
[ooc]Flurry of blows vs Sifu Centipede... Spear-Hand strike 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 is blocked... Knife-Hand strike 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 chops Sifu Centipede’s shoulder, dealing 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 damage... Roundhouse kick 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 is blocked... Spinning back kick 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 is ducked...
In Japanese, to the Koga kunoichi: Master Centipede is very dangerous, Miss Ninja! He will kill us both unless we gang up on him! Believe me!

Fox feels the kunoichi’s blades cut him twice more! The adrenaline somewhat dulls the pain at the moment, but the blood stain expanding on Fox’s tunic indicates that he is in trouble!

Technically he can take a full round action to Run at 4x base movement, for 160ft each round, so it would only take 2 rounds to get there... Fox might need the help!

If he can run in a straight line, yes, but I imagine the route to be twisty and turns enough in Rome to limit him to double moves mostly... That said, I agree that Fox is in need of more allies as soon as possible, so I’ll rule that Bear reaches his side and enters initiative on round 4 instead of round 5, as there would probably be some straight paths he could full on run...

Bowing low before the emperor, Dame Tringelda accepts the vellum scroll.

The Ogon Fox
The way I've been envisioning our positions, I should now be able to take a 5ft step (it would be a diagonal on a grid) to put me in a flanking position on the ninja with Sifu Centipede. I'm going to do that and attack, and then we'll see if I need to flee on round 4.
His spellcasting done for now, Fox reveals that he has been doing some strategic maneuvering at the same time, as he steps into a new position that forces the shinobi to watch the Fox and the Centipede on opposite sides. And the Fox finally strikes back at his would-be assassin in a flash of electricity!
Melee Mystic Bolt (touch attack), Flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 2 = 24
Damage with Sneak Attack: 1d6 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (4, 3) = 9

I'm a little unclear on the timing of the ninja deathmatch... is that happening while I'm 'indisposed'?

Boga reddens even more and beads of sweat begin to form on his forehead. He pats his face down, "Oh my. The Cardinal will pay for this..."
"No, no. What you describe does not indicate disease. I should have been more specific. The changes of which I speak would be changes you would notice hours or days after you completed your... your... activities with Miss Molly. The changes you describe during are perfectly normal." Boga clears his throat, "For you."
Would any of us have noticed Johann's quick departure?

I'm a little unclear on the timing of the ninja deathmatch... is that happening while I'm 'indisposed'?
Zagathoth’s “deflowering” occurs the night of Friday, January 12th, and his talks with Cardinal Lucius and Boga occur some time during the day on Saturday the 13th; Fox is attacked the evening of the 13th, so it’s possible Zagathoth could be in the vicinity with another character, perhaps Lucius, and that they could overhear the battle and rush to aid Fox, Bear, and Centipede against Scorpion and kunoichi...
