Zed Allenstar |

Zed drops down to the floor of the fireplace, steps out and brushes the soot off his his uniform.
Following Rei's lead, Zed mutters "Hell of a first day on the job! If I'd known what whey did to prisoners here, I would never have signed up for guard duty. That's just not right!"
Looking at the kitchen staff, he adds, "I couldn't let them do that to a young woman, regardless of what she's been accused of. I'm going to escort her to the warden's office to report those other guards."
Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

The guards are quickly slain by the quick actions of Jericho & Elijah.
Meanwhile...
The two servants are initially suspicious of Zed, but allayed by his quick words.
Myrtle speaks. "I'm sympathetic to you, but I don't see what you can do, the sergeant will have no sympathy."

Zed Allenstar |

Lighting up his face with his famous smile, he replies to the scullery maid, "Well, I have to try. I'm sure the sergeant can be reasonable. Plus, I can be surprisingly persuasive when I need to be. It's only the right thing to do."
Collecting Rei, he moves into the room. He turns toward Myrtle.
"Say, I haven't been given the grand tour yet, and I'm a bit disoriented coming through the chimney. What's through those doors?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
+1 toward Myrtle, assuming she finds Zed attractive.

"That's the mess-hall, maybe one or two guards through there, do you want me to take a look for you?"
Myrtle seems somewhat eager to please you, though the man is a little more reserved.

Rei of the Shadows |

"Please do, he's already taking such a risk trying to change things! You two might also consider heading outside for a while. If things don't work out it'd be a shame for you to get dragged into it."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Lukasz Pavo |

Sweat beginning to bead the brow of the otherwise composed man, Lukasz steps out and into the hallway. Moving over to the dead guards as the magical grease coating the ground evaporates, Lukasz whispers, "We had better move quickly, while the guards upstairs are safe form discovery, these will not go unnoticed for long." Looking in the direction of the door that should lead to the kitchen, Lukasz continues, "Let us hide the bodies the best we can and check on Zed and the other one, Rei was it?"

Jericho Fiendaxe |

Similar to Elijah, Jericho first ensures that guards are dead, and then proceeds to quickly check if they have any useful items, like keys, weapons, money etc. Several moments later he is behind the (anti)paladin, heading towards kitchen.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8 "Blind&deaf duo" leads the way :-(

Apologies, I know we've not progressed very far, but my life has taken a bit of a nosedive over the last weekish.
I'm withdrawing from all GMing while I get sorted out.
It's nothing life threatening, just a setback, but I can't give the games I'm running the attention they deserve.
Sorry again.
