Áine nods, "We should cleanse it, once we've finished investigating." she says.

"No argument from me," Faith says. He looks at the iron-fanged skull with the ring on the bottom. "I think that's Zura," he says. "A ... doorknocker?"

Arcadia:

Faith says "No," very quickly. Then he frowns for a moment. "I take that back. I think I was probably close to death several times when I was younger. I just didn't realize it at the time."

"I was an ice fisher. Still am, if the opportunity presents. Not the safest pastime."

Faith drums his fingers against the tattoo on his cheek as he ponders. "I wouldn't say I've been terribly close to death here, either. Not as close as Sasha or Aerys has been. Or Gelik when he came down with fever."

"What about you? Your profession strikes me as similarly dangerous. Except that people are sneaky about wanting to kill an investigator. Have you been near death before?"

Pakshee:

"The fish is my favorite," Faith says. "Even now. It's been years since I had it, but sometimes I dream of it. It was worth all the work."

Faith looks sad when Pakshee talks about her home with no people. He only winces a little as he thinks about the cannibals -- probably Pakshee's relatives -- he personally killed. "Leaving home is hard," he says. "But that is a future which may never come."

"When it gets very cold, water turns hard -- like a rock. You can stand on it, walk across it. It will kill you if are not protected from it. It happens for almost half the year where I come from. But some places -- like here -- it never happens."

Faith puts his hand on his chin and ponders. He squeezes Pakshee briefly and then lets go.

"Is there something you have never done but would like to do? I would like to do something nice for you. It may not be within my power to grant today. But it may be tomorrow."

Aerys:

"I always wondered if the drinking came first or the philosophizing," Faith says. "But clerics have a natural rivalry with non-religious philosophers. Kind of like gnomes and giants, but less stabbing and crushing. Usually."

"The rumors about this island that are true are bad enough." Faith ponders. "But we have taken care of the cannibals and most of the undead -- I hope."

"If we want to keep people away from our tropical paradise, maybe we need to invent new rumors?"

Faith loses a pip to the ground. A second. A third. "Maybe these pomegranates are cursed."

He scowls fiercely at the pomegranates.

Áine grins, "Does anyone want it?" she asks, "If not, I have a feeling he's not going to like me very much, I'm not much of an artist." her grin turning wicked, "hope you guys are okay with an evil vampire god not being very happy with us...er, me." she turns to Arcadia, "do you know how to mix different dyes or paints that will stick on metal for a while?"

A longer pause, "oh, wait. Zura's a woman? Well what I had planned is not going to be nearly as effective then." she sighs. "That's okay, I'll still come up with something."

Faith/Pakshee:
"But the fish, it only lives under the hard water?"

She considers, "Being able to leave the lighthouse, is nice." She considers, "There was a river north of here, with a waterfall. I remember it from when I was little, I'd like to swim there with you." She smiles, "I like it when you take off your shell."

Faith/Aerys:
One of her eyebrows lifts, "Most of my experience is with the priests of Cayden and Besmara neither of whom are in for deep philosophical discussions," she shakes her head, "I've never heard of this rivalry." Considers, "That would put you and Jask on same side of the divide though, and me and Arcadia on the other?"
Zaine:
She nods, sighing as she breaks the closeness by sitting up. "I'd like to think I can take a little responsibility." Her gaze lingers on his hands.

When he sits up himself, "Race you to the water?" Her green gaze playful, her body still relaxed, mostly.

Arcadia:
Re: Aine's question in the above post - yes totally, unless you don't want to be able to. Anything that seems like something you could do with mundane alchemy is cake for you.

Áine shakes her head rapidly, "No! But..cutting down something so big..is going to take me quite a while."

Male Human Cavalier 17

GM:
"Sure," says Zaine, giving her a sleepy smile. He gets up after her, and when she runs, he merely walks behind her, taking in the view as he goes.

Male Human Warpriest 17

Pakshee:

"I am sure it lives out in the great ocean somewhere," Faith says. "I only knew where to find it under the ice in the winter time."

He climbs to his feet. "I think I know where this waterfall is." He smiles at Pakshee. "I would be delighted to swim with you. Leaving my shell behind on the grass."

Aerys:
"You must not have gotten the priests of Cayden drunk enough," Faith says, trying hard to keep a straight face. "Arcadia is an investigator. You are a poet. She asks questions. You propose answers. I am a priest. I know things because: Goddess. Philosophers are like the child who can't stop asking but why?."

Faith gives Aerys an appraising look. "If we do come to blows over philosophy, I hope it's not in a contest of pithing."

And a pip tries to squirt free, but Faith catches it before it can hit the ground. "Hah! Got you!" he says to the pip.

Áine:
you need help

you need help moving it although maybe make shelter here until you make him lighter

She considers, i could shape him to be the shape you need but i do not know what that is

Faith/Pakshee:
She smiles, "Is there something you would like to do that I can do with you?" Sounding excited about the idea.
Faith/Aerys:
Aerys laughs as Faith nabs the pip. Choosing to not look at the dirty bodies of the ones that escaped to stain the ground. "The ones that escape would have turned the wine bitter anyway." Aerys says.

She smiles, "I like hearing the discussion that leads to the why, there are normally interesting turns." She considers, "Granted so is hearing the Truth from those of different gods." She reaches over an nabs a pip that hid in his hair, blowing on it once before popping it in her mouth.

"For the cheese, I think I'm going to find some blackberries and mull them, light fermentation. Just enough to get everyone tipsy. Especially if I can find some honey to jack up the yeast."

Zaine:
She stands and starts to move in one motion, not running full out, about halfway to the water she turns, jogging backward looking at him. She grins as she dives into the water, staying near shore in the deep drop off.

She watches him as he makes his own way down. Once he joins her, "You're more comfortable in the water without clothes, huh?" She darts in, a quick kiss, "I was planning on kissing you if you caught me."

"But..." her face totally reads I wanted to anyway.

Male Human Cavalier 17

GM:
He grabs her as she darts in, quick as a snake, and pulls her to him, kissing her again. "Yeah... I mean, clothes aren't really meant for swimming." He lets her go, though beneath the water he caresses her hips. She can see him beginning to stir as well, this prolonged teasing just getting him ready again.

He settles down in the water, watching her.

Zaine:
She moves around in the water for a little bit, staying close to Zaine, a little smile when she looks at him and sees him watching. Clean, she floats at the top of the water, a glance, a smile. A blush, "You could turn me into an exhibitionist." A beat as she considers, "If you can be an exhibitionist only around one person."

The clear blue sky shows signs of heavy clouds moving in from the south, a sign that the daily deluge is soon to appear.

Áine's face lights up, "Let me find a fallen Tree branch and I'll make a smaller sized sample."

She takes 20 on a carpentry check for her model

Male Human Cavalier 17

GM:
Zaine shrugs. "It's a thing if we say it's a thing." Then he grins. "And like I said, any time you want to be naked around me, just get undressed."

Zaine looks up to the graying sky. "Looks like we're about to get wet. Well, wetter I guess."

Zaine considers, then reaches out, taking Sasha by the hand and pulling her to him. "I'm just not quite ready for today to end," he murmurs, brushing her hair away from her face and finding her lips with his.

Faith:
Some evening, Zaine will seek Faith out when the warpriest is relatively alone.

"Listen, Faith. I've been meaning to ask you about Pakshee. How is that going?" Zaine pauses. "Actually, what's going on there?"

Male Human Warpriest 17

Pakshee:
"Absolutely," Faith says. "But let's go swimming first. I love to swim. I practiced a lot so if I fell into the water wearing my armor, I wouldn't die. I got good at it."

Faith is happy to swim with Pakshee in the river under the waterfall. As promised, he leaves armor, clothing, weapons in the grass by the shore. He does wear the Ring of Swimming.

Aerys:

Faith shrugs. "I am happy to listen to debates about Truth-with-a-capital-T. But sometimes they go on long enough to strain my eyes from all the rolling."

Aerys wrote:
She reaches over and nabs a pip that hid in his hair

"A counter-attack! Thank you for saving me." Faith shakes his head in disbelief -- and to dislodge any more pips that might be hiding.

"Blackberries and cheese, that's a good pairing. I bow to your expertise." Faith dips his head to Aerys. "Not sure I've seen any beehives. I will look for bees next time I am out, and attempt to follow them home."

Zaine:
Faith looks up at the night sky, half filled with clouds, half filled with stars. "My Infernal is getting better and better, and Pakshee is picking up some Common," Faith says. "If that is what you're asking about." The tone of Faith's voice is friendly.

He turns his gaze earthward, and looks Zaine in the eyes. "We are having sex. If that is what you're asking about." A beat. "How are things with you and Sasha? I notice you are off together frequently, it seems you have a common interest."

Áine:
She watches with intensity as Áine shapes the model. She holds the model once the nimble carver finishes. this will take time energy come back in a few days
Faith/Pakshee:
Pakshee stops watching the fall of the water when they get to the basin, she leans close to Faith, "I remember it being bigger, so huge I didn't think I'd every be able to swim out to the waterfall. " She unties her wrap, hanging it from a tree branch then carefully picks her way into the water. Once she gets waist deep she pushes forward, her body sinking into the fresh water. She comes up a bit later shaking water from eyes and face. She is not a confident swimmer half floating and half breast pull. In the calm water of the basin she's fine bit the waves and current would be deadly. After a moment she comes over to Faith arms sliding around his neck, wearing nothing more than her bright smile.
Faith/Aerys:
"I figure there must be some on the island," she shakes her head, "I haven't been the explorer that you all have been." She works quietly for a while, near the end of the fruit. "Thank you." She catches Faith's eye and after a moment it is clear she isn't talking about the harvest of pips. "Many of the people who have seen me... sleep for lack of a better word... apparently is unerving."
Zaine:
She sinks into the embrace, hands on his shoulders as she returns the kiss with interest. Her grin is abashed when she pulls away, "I didn't want to leave our beach either."

A momentary thought, she looks up the beach, making sure both of Zaine's weapons are not out where they will get wet. If she sees them out she says something, otherwise, she sinks back down skin sliding against skin. "I'd say I'd be happy to cuddle with you at night but I think Tulip might object to changes in the her sleeping arrangement." The hint of a frown, one she probably doesn't realize is there, indicates her feelings just add clearly a's words. A smile, "In the water is about the warmest place to be during a downpour. "

Male Human Cavalier 17

Faith:
Zaine was casually sipping from his waterskin, and spits out a mouthful when Faith makes his casual revelation. He coughs, trying to get it under control. "Not exactly what I was asking... I mean, I thought I'd warm up to it. So, I take it that means if we get off this rock, she's coming along?"

Zaine squints up at the night. "Sasha? I like her and she likes me."

GM:
Sasha would find that Zaine's guns are meticulously cared for. Even when distracted with new romance, he hasn't put his exotic weaponry where it could be damaged.

"We can test out sleeping arrangements later. Tulip... well, we'll see what she thinks." Zaine peers back to shore, where the t-rex is stalking through the undergrowth. "She's been a good girl so far. Or maybe she just likes the freedom."

He gathers her back up in his arms. She can feel him, beneath the water, ready for another round, though he's apparently content to cuddle. "Then let's stay here for the time being."

Áine looks a little startled, opens her mouth to say something, but decides against it. She nods, presses herself again against the massive trunk and whispers, [b]"thank you"[b], then turns, makes sure she knows where she is on the island and disappears into the jungle.

Faith pounds Zaine on the back. "Out with it, lad. Drowning on dry land's a terrible way to go."

Faith nods at Zaine's question. "If we leave this island, she is coming too. She says staying here alone would drive her mad."

"I am glad to hear that you and Sasha like other. Is Tulip jealous?"

Farmer's voice takes a slightly more serious tone. "Zaine.... I know you and Tulip can take care of yourselves. I recognize the tattoo on Sasha's back, and those people are bad news. If we get off this island, and if her past comes looking for her...."

"You won't need to ask. I'm in if you need me."

Faith snorts back a laugh. "It all seems so far away from here. It could be tomorrow. Could be never."

After everyone goes through the contents of the drawer, she holds a hand up. "So, we still have a few places we haven't poked around in yet. Are we interested in doing so, or should we quit the place and put it behind us? We still have an abnormally large urchin to attend to, as well."

While the three alcoves in the temple are very well documented in Yarzoth's notes, none of the script from the walls of the scriptorium have been documented or reproduced. Accurate rubbing of that room would require 3 days of work.

Looking through the bars on the eastern end of the temple, you can make out the glint of water but smell no salt. You see a medium sized gate on the right side of the bars - held closed by a simple latch on the temple side.

Perception DC 15:
You hear an ominous muttering from the darkness beyond, no words just random collection of sounds. Listening to hard hurts your head.

If you have the skill, K: dungeoneering DC 15

If you made the check:
You think it might be a gibbering mouther in the darkness, a mass of eyes, mouths, and formless flesh stares in all directions, its countless maws yammering ceaselessly. And consumes flesh and blood it comes in contact with.

Áine:
A few days later, say three, if Áine returns to the area, there are two rough shapes like she indicated, upsidedown so water wouldn't pool inside during the daily rain - not a single toolmark - although the wood looks a little denser than what Áine has seen of most koa.

Aycenia is no where in sight, or hearing.

Zaine:
She nods, "We can go slow." Wiggles in just a little closer, "You're the center of her world," she peeks over his shoulder at a shriek from the underbrush.

As the rain starts to fall she tilts her head back, letting the fresh water run over her face and neck. Below the water, her hands slide down from shoulders to below Zaine's waist. She glances at his face, making sure he is ok with her change from cuddling, assuming consent, her hands play. No steady rhytm, instead a build then a calm, teasing, seeing if she can play him to the edge of pleasure.

Faith watches Áine copying down tunes. "I can prepare Comprehend Languages tomorrow and come back and we can get all of it translated," he offers.

Pakshee:

Faith doesn't make a big deal about it, but after watching Pakshee swim, he stakes out a spot between the basin and the danger zones.

Faith wraps his arms around her waist and grins. He is clearly pleased to see her happy. "Best waterfall on the island," he says.

Aerys:

"Where there are flowers, there are usually bees," Faith says. He watches her finish the pithing.

"Unnerving is a good word for it," Faith says. "But next time will be less so. And I will have the presence of mind to give you a feast in your dreams." He shakes his head. "I would not like to fall into a trance like that. I have respect for those who bear a burden I would not."

And, more quietly, "You are welcome."

"Do you need a hand hauling these to the storehouse?"

Faith/Paskhee:
She wraps her legs around Faith's weight, her breathing heavy from the exertion of swimming back and firth in the basin. While she is careful to not hinder his arms, she does become an extra weight in the water. The happy smile, this time hinting at a playfulness much repressed, "You gave me my want, now you ask for yours?"

She's also much cleaner.

Faith/Aerys:
She tips the bucket, carefully draining the water without losing very many pips. She smiles, handing him a heavy, clean blunt stick - smoothed. "Now we destroy those we captured in order to use their vitals for our drink." A pause, "Or something like that," She goes to work juicing the pips.

"Then..." she shakes her head, "On second thought, I don't want it in the hut until it goes into the cask." She looks around, "I think we could spare a bit of the sail cloth to make a covered area for it in the grove, better juju for the yeast there, I think." It's clear from her face she is remembering what used to be in the storage hut.

Male Human Warpriest 17

Pakshee:

Faith holds up under her weight, only riding a little lower as he treads water. He puts his hand to his chin and pretends to think. "Hmmm," he says. "So many possibilities."

He puts his hands on her hips, kicking a little harder to compensate. "Are you ticklish" He runs his fingers up the sides of her ribcage to check.

Aerys:
Faith smashes pips with the stick. "This is oddly satisfying," he says. He follows her lead on the rhythm of smashing.

"Mm," Faith grunts. "Good call. If we didn't need the storage hut, I would burn it down and build a new one somewhere else. Bad juju indeed."

Faith has a bit of trouble finding a good rhythm. Too hard and it splashes. Too soft and the pips don't pulp. "Even in death, they mock me," he sighs, still trying to match Aerys' juicing rhythm.

Male Human Cavalier 17

"Count me along with those who want to explore the rest of this place," Zaine says. Tulip squawks. "Her too."

Faith:
Zaine gets the cough under control quickly. "Pakshee, huh? I kind of thought you and Aerys had something going. Although I suppose one doesn't preclude the other, depending on everyone's proclivities. No judgment here."

He listens to Faith's pledge, and does appear to be genuinely touched. "Thanks. I'm not too worried... I've had people out to kill me since I was twelve years old, and they have yet to succeed. Still, be nice to have faith on my side for once."

GM:
She sees an expression of bliss blooming over his face. One hand goes to her breast, brushing the nipple with his palm. He brings her to the surface, so he can replace his hand with his mouth, teasing, nibbling, tasting. His other hand dips between her legs, first exulting in the warmth of her, then penetrating. His fingers seem to claim her, to fill her, and find her secret places.

Faith/Pakshee:
The answer is apparently very as her eyes go wide, a giggle is ripped from her throat involuntarily, her legs tighten around his waist and her upper body wiggles. After a moment, when she catches her breath, her eyes are wide and shocked.
Faith/Aerys:
Eventually it seems like you've both done a good job of pummeling the pips into submission, but both of you have red burst of juice over arms and face. Aerys leans back letting juice from the pummel drip onto her hand, which she licks. A smile. "Should be a good batch, it put up a fight." She stretches cracking her back.

As they are going out of the settlement, carrying the mostly full bucket, Aerys asks consideringly, "You said before that as a priest you know the answers. But you saw, felt the moral quandry in the story of your goddess marking one against his will to do good."

"What will you do if you get to the point where The answer isn't?"

A pause, "Damn that is totally a 'why', I've drunk with too many philosophers." A heavy sigh.

Zaine:
A happy moan when Zaine brings her to his mouth, but her hands keep their even work until his finger dip inside. Her body is quick to respond, still wound up from their first experimentation. Her eyes open, watching him, even as her hands lose any sense of rhythm and the green is almost lost to the black of her pupil.

Out to sea, the rumble of thunder threatens.

Aerys:

Faith ponders the question as they carry the bucket. "That's a good question," he says eventually. "My answer is a little bit cheating, though. When a The Answer is no longer my The Answer. Find a new one. That's nice in theory. In practice, I have been following the path of Vildeis for decades. Even considering finding a new path...."

He gives Aerys a wry look. "It would be like a shipwrecked sailor on this island -- the sea so close yet inaccessible."

Then he goes back to watching where he is going.

Zaine:

"Each something is different," Faith shrugs.

"Twelve?" Faith looks impressed. "At age twelve, I was sneaking off to ice-fish when I should have been studying. When you get to be my age, you're going to be amazing. Or dead. Possibly both."

"At least you can still fish here." She shakes her head, quietly, "I know we are just doing what we need to survive here, but..." she looks at the area around, "it feels almost like a honeytrap."

Zaine:
She holds out for as long as she can, trying to pull Zaine along with her, but the flesh is weak. About the third time her body shudders around him, each one closer to the last, her muscles go limp and her body shivering against him. Her eyes never losing contact with his, filled with desire and something both soft and fierce. Lightning cracks out at sea.

She leans forward, brushing a kiss at the pulse beneath his ear, her words almost lost in thunder, "Time with you, Zaine, is a gift to me, too."

Aerys:
"If you run out of paper, I will donate my clerical robes to the cause. They're ... not as white as they used to be. But I'm a large man, so there is a lot of writing space."

Faith stops.

"It does feel like a honey trap! Fishing. Swimming. Just enough undead to kill that I feel like I'm doing Vildeis' work."

Faith resumes walking, shaking his head. "I'm not that important in the grand scheme ... but that's quite an insight. You are a poet-philosopher."

He gives Aerys the side-eye, then breaks into a grin again. "We can still be friends. I'm magnanimous that way."

Faith/Pakshee:
Her eyes go wide, sad, when his smile melts, she shakes her head, "Just no one has ever," she pauses, thinking about his words, "tickled me. Is ticklish good?" Her hand goes experimentally to his ribs, "Are you ticklish?"
Faith/Aerys:
She laughs again, it doesn't seem like it is a sound she uses often, but it is a good one.

"Don't worry, when I can sail again I'll go back to being just a poet and leave the philosophy to those who don't have to work to survive." She find a sheltered level place for the bucket and starts to string the piece of sail above it, "But traditionally the mead makers are philosophers or priest." She looks at him deadpan, "If I don't do this, the wine will come out bad."

Pakshee:
"I am ticklish," Faith says, smile starting to creep back. He relaxes slightly as he realizes that Pakshee was uncertain, not annoyed. "But not there."

"Should I tell you, or would you like to hunt for the spot?"

Aerys:
Faith can't tie knots like a sailor, but he assists where he can.

"A philosopher and a priest, working together and arguing about Truth? It's going to be amazing wine."

Temple of Blood - Cavern

You open the gate in time to see a thing cavorting in the water about 60 feet away. As the sound of it's maddening gibberish starts to affect your mind you see it slip into a hole in the wall, it's hard to tell from this distance but it reminds you of the one in the antechamber, the one with the pool of blood.

Áine:
The beach is closer. Either will be a pain through the heavy jungle.

"Yet."

Arcadia smiles, sweeping her eyes quickly over the scene. "Patience is key. I can make this stuff on demand, but it's not nearly so good as it is with time and process." She shakes her head. "Alchemy is all about shortcuts, but there's really no good replacement for handling food and wine properly."

She seats herself nearby. "Something you dabbled in before the wreck made shabby messes of us all?"

Áine:

Arcadia chuckles. "Because I can is a perfectly acceptable reason for doing most things, I approve. Even more so, because you promised." She tilts her head. "I feel like alchemy is a little bit of a cheat, a shortcut, for something like this. But I'm happy to lend my hands in the work."

"Do you often converse with Aycenia?"

Faith:

Is our flex done, or did I miss a post?

Zaine:

After the events of the Temple of Blood wrap up and the group finds themselves safely back at camp, Zaine would likely find Arcadia in the lab, already tinkering with something or another with a frown on her face.

"You think you're ready for something, you think you're prepared, then you're dealing with skeletons who don't give a whit about your poisoned blades." She says it mostly to herself, but it's clear she's talking to whoever entered the lab behind her.

She turns around. "At least now I know what I've been missing by choosing to investigate on my own, rather than joining the larger group. It's not a mistake I'll make again." She grins.

Temple of Blood - Cavern

Arcadia makes her best approximation of earmuffs, copying Áine's style. "Are these going to help against that?" She asks, a little too loudly, once the fabric is over her ears.

Arcadia:
Aerys shakes her head, "Salt sea and fermentation do not mix." But she says it with a hint of wistfulness in her eyes, "But I like the product enough to understand the process." She ends cheerfully but it doesn't quite ring true to Arcadia's well trained ears.
Faith/Pakshee:
"No tell." She smiles, clearly delighted to have an excuse to touch him. "I find," she considers the water. "But not when swimming," clearly knowing she'd not be able to keep him afloat the way he can her.

Her head cocks to the side, "Was ticklish important to what you want to do after," she splashes her hand in the water.

Faith/Aerys:
Her knots are sailor's but she appreciates the help, especially in stretching the canvas so that the ferment can vent but no random leaves add their bouquet to the mix.

After they finish, Aerys stretches her back cracking, "I'm going to go get rid of the evidence of pomegranate death." Motioning to the fleks of red.

Zaine:
She remains cuddled close during the rainstorm. When it ends, the clouds remain. From the undergrowth, Tulip chirps, annoyed at the wet in her feathers.

Sasha kisses Zaine, no smile, but glowing with happiness. "I don't really want to break the spell, but..." she looks at the clouds, "I think our paradise is going to keep getting rained out."

Life at the Lighthouse - The Storm

A day or so after Wynnstan joins the survivors, the normal afternoon downpour is only a herald for a heavy storm. While you have a little time to be sheltered, the night promises to be rough.

At the lighthouse, Pakshee goes around to everyone who normally sleeps outside, encouraging in horribly broken Taldane to move into the solid stone lighthouse. It is notable that she does not do this to Wynnstan.

"These things smart enough to lead people into traps? Because that's what this looks like to me."

Life at the Lighthouse - The Storm

"Your Taldane is coming along nicely," Zaine says.

He'll follow the reformed cannibal's advice, and move inside with Tulip before battening down the hatches.

Arcadia:
"Good to hear," says Zaine. "I'm with a group about half the time, depending. There's something to be said for either approach."

He coughs, then glances around. "So, listen. You were right. About Sasha, I mean."

GM:
"You're right. It has to end sometime... and we can always come back to our beach. It'll be right where we left it." Zaine rises out of the water. "Don't forget the oysters. That'll be a fun treat this evening."

He steps out onto the beach, arms out, letting the sun dry him for a few long moments. Tulip comes out to greet him, and he pets the t-rex's head affectionately, leaning in close and murmuring a few words for the beast's hearing alone. Then he pats her on the flank and follows her up the sand.

When Sasha comes out of the water, he'll watch her, and just the sight of her nude form is enough to provoke a reaction in him. "Sorry," he says. "Don't think I'm ever going to get used to the sight of you. Don't think I want to."

Zaine:

Arcadia turns, giving him her full attention with a half smile on her lips.

"Finally talked about it, huh? That's good. Because if you didn't know how she felt after she all but shadowed you throughout that temple, I'm not sure I would have felt safe with you watching anyone else's backs." She teases.

Arcadia:
Top of this page, post 1151, is the most recent one from me. Is there a more recent one from you that I missed?

Zaine:
Faith makes a noncommittal noise. "This island is good at clarifying things. But there are a lot of things which aren't here to be clarified."

Silence for a while. "I'm not sure how long we've been here. This might be the longest I have stayed in one place for years."

Temple of Blood

"...but if it is a trap, do we care?"

Life at the Lighthouse - The Storm

Faith does a head count as people come into the lighthouse. He swears if he realizes someone is missing.

Temple of Blood

Sasha falls to the rear as the group, securely latching the gate closed from the temple side. As you drag open the door to the cleansing pool you hear the maddening gibberish from the creature within and when the door is open, you see the creature like a pig in the sty, romping in the blood that its many mouths sucks down, flinging blood all around the once perfectly clean room. In a paroxysm of delight, the creature undulates out of the semi-emptied pool, the blood disappearing wherever the ponderous body passes.

The creature makes a disturbingly happy sound as it finally notices you in the doorway. All of the eyes turn in your direction and the mouths start a more insistent cacophony.

Initiative and round 1 actions.

Please make a DC 13 Will save vs a mind-affecting compulsion insanity effect. If you fail you are confused for 1 round and must make the save again at the start of your next turn. As soon as you make the save you are immune to this gibbering mouther's gibbering for 24 hours. There is no sonic component to the gibbering, but I'll give you a +1 on the save if you went stoppered your ears.

Intelligence or Wisdom DC 12:
Just a reminder that this room is trapped and that bypass is to press any one of the four buttons on the pillars in the room.

"Your Taldane is coming along nicely," Zaine says.

She grins widely at the compliment, her sharp teeth showing for a moment before she catches herself, pressing her lips together. She still smiles though, "Better when Faith use," she slows down, speaking the next with concentration, "Veil-day-s blessing. Then I have all words." She rubs her right foot against her left calf in what seems to be a nervous tic.

Perception DC 15:
There is a delicate tattoo of a flower and a bird growing from the arc of her left foot. You are relatively certain it wasn't there when you first met her.
Faith:
If you didn't already, you can look under the preceding Perception spoiler.

Faith would know that she started tattooing herself a few days after Faith took her to explore her island home. The equipment she is using is old, the wood pieces that support the metal look to have been crafted to replace broken parts. Since she doesn't hide it from Faith, he knows that it was hidden in a secret compartment in the wall behind the bed in the room she uses.

Zaine:
When Sasha first gets out of the water, she twists the red mass of hair to sluice the excess water off. She looks up at him when he speaks, ducking her head, just a little, but not enough to hide the pleased smile. She walks up to him, her head tilting, her tongue darting out to wet her lips. She shakes her head, her nose wrinkling a bit, "Maybe I should, but I don't mind one bit." A soft kiss.

A shiver brought on by a bit of wind heralding the storm, a blush, "Clothes." She says, "Or..." She clears her throat, "Clothes." She grabs her blue shirt off of the branch, pulling it on where it just barely makes it to the top of her thighs. She looks around, mainly on the sailcloth.

Pakshee:

Faith nods. "That's fair." He winks at Pakshee. "You can't reach one of the spots from where you are."

"If you lean in, I can whisper it into it your ear."

Aerys:

Faith takes the opportunity to stretch out as well. Primarily his arms. "Is there a trick to hiding the evidence? Or is it just going to take a lot of scrubbing and water?"

He looks at his hands, forearms. He pulls up his sleeves to see just how far up his arms the juice ran.

Temple of Blood

"That is what I imagined something called a gibbering mouther would look like," Faith mutters to Áine before it turns its gaze to the group.

Round 1:

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Will save DC 13: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Faith uses religious fervor to cast on himself as a swift action. Charity is the +2 dagger with the skull motif.

Faith casts Shield of Faith on himself and advances on the mouther, attacking it directly with Charity.

to hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
to hurt: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Life at the Lighthouse - The Storm

Faith is ticking off people on his fingers. There should be twelve (Tulip is a people). Thirteen counting the baby dino.

Faith says to Pakshee, "چقدر بد است؟ آوردن بز؟ آوردن اژدها"

Infernal:
"How bad it get? Bring in goat? Bring in dragon?"

Tulip is definitely people.

Zaine stands in the front hall. "Hey, where's free?" he asks Faith. "I'm going to bunk down with the dinosaurs."

Round 1:

Initiative Zaine 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Initiative Tulip 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

"Tulip, kill. Or... something. Or just have fun."

Zaine fires and reloads.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
1d12 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Tulip moves past Zaine, taking a bite of the vomit monster.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Arcadia:
"Shadowed? I don't think she shadowed..." Zaine rubs the back of his head self-consciously. "Yeah, we're apparently a bit more than friends now. I don't know that I'd have said anything if you hadn't said something, so thank you."

Faith:
"Same," says Zaine. "I've been on the move since I was twelve. It feels a little weird not going anywhere."

GM:
He hooks an arm around her waist, drawing her in for the kiss. "Good," he murmurs.

Zaine picks up his breeches. "What are you looking for?" he asks, sliding them on with a little bit of adjusting.

Faith has no corners to point to. He points to a space near / under the circular stairwell. "Dryest spot on the ground floor."

Zaine:
"It feels weird, but I find I am liking it."

Faith sighs. "Sadly, when we get off the island, I don't think evil will come to me to be vanquished."

Faith/Pakshee:
She looks down, although really all she can see at the moment is where her wrap around his waist. She leans in turning her head so that his lips are near her ear.
Faith/Aerys:
"Scrubbing, lots of scrubbing." She looks at the little dabs of color on his clothes as she wipes her own, "I have advantage of black clothes. As long as I get the shiny bits taken care of, no one will be the wiser."

That said, after dabbing, she removes the black leather and uses the sandy soil to scrub at her stained hands.

Zaine:
She bites the inside of her cheek, "My underwear. I wasn't really keeping track of them when we were..." Her cheeks, pink before, slowly start turning red.

Sasha taps Zaine's shoulder, giving him a makeshift bag made of cloth. "Your present for Faith." Before heading to the small anteroom to move the baby dinosaur into the large entry of the lighthouse.

Jask is in the top of the lighthouse. Gelik is slow to come in, and is soaked when he does (apparently the wind made the rain go sideways) and he eventually makes his way up to the top with Jask. Sasha seems ready to be a squishy human barrier between Tulip and the baby. Ishirou moves into what was the temple for the cannibals. You hear a mutter about "Creepy devil worship." Of the castaways, Aerys comes in last, also dripping. She steps back into the anteroom and shakes off the worst of the water. She looks around, looking a little lost as to where to go.

There is room for Tulip and the baby dino in the entrance room.

In the stone lighthouse proper there are the following rooms: The beacon room at the top, the cannibal bedroom where Pakshee lives right below, and on the bottom floor: entrance room, a storage room that has been retrofitted with a comfortable bed, and a temple to the Thunefang.

Faith Dagger wrote:
Faith says to Pakshee, "چقدر بد است؟ آوردن بز؟ آوردن اژدها"

Pakshee considers then quickly, "اژدها باید صحیح باشد، او دارای یک درخت درخت است. کوزه بز و بز ... بز کوهی خوب خواهد بود."

Infernal:
"Dragon should be ok, he has a tree burrow. Goat... goat and baby goats would be fine since they are fine on mountain."

When Wynnstan comes striding in, Pakshee firmly puts Faith between her and the doppelganger of the former chief. Glaring daggers at the man, she says decidedly to Faith, "هر کس دیگری در اتاق ما خوب است. حتی بز ها اما نه او"

Infernal:
"Anyone else ok in our room. Even goats. But not him."

Male Human Cavalier 17

"That'll work," Zaine says to Faith, and sets about unrolling his bedroll in the dry spot. He pats Tulip's head. "Don't worry, girl. Just a bit of thunder. You'll be fine."

When Sasha reminds him, Zaine grins. "Less a gift to Faith and more a gift to everyone. Sasha and I collected oysters for dinner. Should be a nice treat while we batten down the hatches, as it were."

Faith:
"Look on the bright side: there's plenty of evil out there to vanquish. You'll practically trip over it as soon as we make it home."

GM:
Zaine frowns in apparent confusion. "Who says you get underwear?"

Male Human Warpriest 17

Zaine:
Faith laughs. "My ultimate goal is Cheliax. I won't be able to kick a rock down a road without hitting evil."

Pakshee:
Faith wraps his arms around Pakshee, his legs kicking harder to keep the balance and buoyancy, and nibbles on her earlobe.

Aerys:
Faith sighs. "Mine is cleanable, but not in polite company. Black would have been easier to clean. Probably handles blood better, too."

Faith scrubs his hands and arms as best he can with sand. "Hmmm," he says eventually. "No worse than working with compost. And a lot tastier when it accidentally gets in your mouth."

Life at the Lighthouse - The Storm

Faith is counting people off as they arrive at the lighthouse. To Aerys he says, "Storage room has a bed, Pakshee has offered space in her room, beacon room is at the top."

When Wynnstan comes in, Faith offers a wan smile. "As the lady says. There is space for you on the ground floor."

To Pakshee: "من کلوچه دارم آیا فضای تخت بسیار کم است؟"

Infernal:

"I have hammock. Is room on bed if space is tight?"

Zaine wrote:

Faith starts to say something, then thinks better of it.

Faith/Pakshee:
She gasps surprised, pulls away, looks at Faith then puts her ear back next to his mouth. Quietly, "I think you are trying to trick me." She sound amused.
Faith/Aerys:
Aerys nods. "It would be easier to strip down to skives and give them a good wash." She shudders, "But the pure layers of filth," shakes her head, "I'd trade a good bottle of wine for a hot bath."
Zaine:
"I thought I treated you good..." her voice fades, and she mutters, "Not as good as you treated me."

She bites her lips, green eyes determined, then smiles, "If I'm not wearing underwear, you can't take them off." She says this as if she is making a very strong argument.
