The cleric is also a hobgoblin, yes. He wears a suit of banded mail, a heavy shield, and there's a 5pronged multicolored holy symbol around his neck.

Never one to question good fortune Antonius turns to face the remaining warrior. He drops the tip of his sword as a distraction, giving him an opportunity to quickly kick out the legs of the warrior. He follows it up with a brutal stab aimed straight for the heart.

The flies are thick here. There's a waterskin sitting discarded on the floor too.

In the second room, the stench is unbearable. There's a half-butchered horse carcass in there. Apparently, once the hobgoblin had taken what they wanted, they just left the rest of it in there to rot. And rot it has, what with the summer heat and all. Probably for weeks. Or maybe shorter, it's hard to tell.

Besides that somewhat macabre sight, the structure is otherwise empty.

K.Religion: That's a stylized symbol of Tiamat, titled the Queen Mother of Dragons, or sometimes the Dragon Below. According to her faithful, she was the one that slew Aroden, back at the fall of the empire. That's considered a dubious claim at best by most scholars, but whatever her crimes, it is certain that she is imprisoned in Hell.
She is almost exclusively worshipped by chromatic dragons, and is said to be one of the first two dragons in existence, and thus the source of all dragonkind. She's a tyranical deity, but paradoxically she holds that all gods are tyrants. Whatever moral outlook they espouse, they are in fact lording over the mortal creatures, and it is only under her dominion that mortals may be free from their divine slavers. As such, worshippers hold that she is not in fact a god herself, despite evidence to the contrary.
Her holy symbol is a depiction of her five heads, or sometimes just five stylized claws in a spiral.

K. Local or History is appropriate for the red gauntlet. Religion can do in a pinch, but it'll net you a -5 penalty on the check. You could even do Arcana, but that one comes with a -10.

Inara snaps her fingers and the snake comes to her. "Honestly. I meant wrap up the cleric guy, not the sneaky potion guy! Good help is so hard to find." She pauses for a few seconds before heaving out a sigh. "No, no I understand. I should have been more specific. It's alright."

She waves her hand and the snake disappears. While the others look around Inara takes the time to summon Arock. Slowly her shadow separates from her body and forms into a black velociraptor. The creature gives Inara a look. Inara nods at it. "I know. No more traveling with you incorporeal"

The fetching walks to Antonius and looks at the paper "Can I see that? I want to try something"

The scroll has Dispel Magic (CL 5) and Spiritual Weapon (CL 3) on it.

Johannes moves further down his checklist, scanning the prisoners to determine their moral outlook.

The cleric and one of the prisoners is Lawful Evil, while the other prisoner is Neutral.

The Fetchling walks over to the cleric. "Hi! You know, it's not very nice to ambush people on the road. Luckily for you I'm a pretty nice person. See, I don't understand why you attacked us. Would you tell me why? If you answer our questions and cooperate with us we'll treat you good. Maybe you thought we were somebody else?"

As Inara speaks to him, the cleric throws her a blank stare, before resuming his murderous glare at Pelius. He responds when Kyras questions him, however.

"Oh aye, we follow the Dragon Below. Insult her all you like - soon all you barefaced kneelers will be dead. Especially the old weakling and his god. We'll see who's 'lowly' then, won't we?"

It's a particular tribal variation of goblinoid, there's probably hundreds of them, but it's close enough to what Kyras is used to that they can talk just fine.

None of you know anything of that gauntlet symbol. It's probably something their leader made up for her personal mark.

"Actually there is something more urgent that you can do. Several of us are still wounded, even after drinking the healing potions. You can call again the wave of positive energy you used earlier?
Getting all of us in top fighting shape can be a good idea and channelling the positive energy is more efficient than using several spells. Possibly it could even put on their feet the two hobgoblin I stabilized."

A pause of a second.

"I will tie them up before you heal them, obviously. I want to bring them to the city for a trial."

Says finally Pelius, trying to appease the young Andoran.

With a bit of a smirk Antonius jingles his bags "There's always the potions, Johannes."

"Thank you Pelius, but you should save your magic for now. I am healed enough at the moment, I will try and hold out until we make it to town."

now then, please do tell me, what mortal being do you serve? Hobgoblins so rarely work of their own accord or ideas. You seem to detest the freedom to choose for yourselves, I'll never understand it. "Pelious, thanks for the healing, but it wasn't needed, I can cure myself and would have gladly cured Antonius. My point is that the spells are a resource that we can recover daily, potions require time to be crafted and, in an emergency, can be used by people without the ability to cast healing spells."

He look Pelious thoughtfully a moment.

"Speaking of recovering spells, that can be a touchy subject in the way in which we organize ourselves. I recover mine during my morning prayers. Can I ask when you recover yours? If we do that at different times it can generate some problem."]

Seeing that Kyras too is casting some healing magic:

"You too can cast healing spells? Good. You have some limit on when you recover them? Seeing how the area is fairly dangerous we should think about organizing our watch and do that in a way that will not interfere with our ability to recover our magic.
And good job warning Pelious away from that blow. Go on soldier ... Ahem, Kyras."

this healing comes from a wand friend, and it still has plenty left to spend. As for the watch, I have a spell that will let me, or another, keep watch through the night, but be rested in the morning, so long as nothing of note happens that is. Also, that'd be Major, if you want to get formal and military minded. Though I don't often keep to military form, too regimented. he gives a grin

but, as for my magic, Cayden Cailean seems fit to provide them to me, though I need only 3 hours of rest to replenish them. I'll leave you to get everything organized.

"What good's your 'freedom' done you? Look around. You've been out of danger for scarcely a minute, and already you're squabbling." He spits out some blood. "Freedom is three tribes in a burning forrest, warring over who should put out the fire." He smiles at you. It's fairly menacing, what with all the blood from Pelius' channeling, and his teeth probably weren't pretty in the first place. "I will say this: My leader is Wyrmlord Koth, a powerful sorcerer. You have won today, but this battle matters little. You'll be dead soon enough."

our freedom has formed a nation that not only broke away from the iron rule of cheliax and its slave driving god, but now stands against it and challenges it at every turn. Freedom is the ability of those goblin tribes realizing that each one is better suited to a different task, and thus working together to save their forest. Or, the freedom to fight and squabble amongst themselves while it burns down around them, either way it is their choice to make. As for in our differences, in them we can find strength. Better we argue about our differences now, then fight amongst ourselves during a battle no?

Kyras smiles that, that is information I can work with.
oh really? If this powerful sorcerer has not but rank and file hobgoblins, with not but one leader so sparsely about, what threat could he really be? This battle will simply be an example of others to come. Surely he has no more than a couple hundred followers. No?

Kyras takes out a velvet wrapped waterskin and takes a swig.
ahh, nothing like a good ale, kept fairly cool by this nifty wrapping I might add. Would you care for some my little green friend?
