Narun Wen |
"Well, I suppose we should start with somewhere to upgrade weapons and armour. And if you know of anyone who might need help with a job, that would be great," Narun says, smiling at Gurgle.
"And if you don't mind me asking, where are your parents?"
Pay him now, out of the party loot. Forgot we had that honestly... Guess we can start selling our gems and what not.

He leads you over to a place called 'Aquatic fire.' It seems to be a genera store. Inside, an old lady with a longsword strapped to her side greets you, and asks what you want to buy.
Everything from the players handbook is available here, and anything you own can be sold for half price. There are no magic items.
Valcone |
"A Greataxe would be nice to have. And I wouldn't mind selling my Battleaxe," Valcone says, remembering his air gensai semen weapon and cringing.
"Also maybe some food and torches," He adds, looking at some of the weapons and armour.
I wonder if Narun would spare some of our party money for spears or javelins... Can't hurt to ask I guess.
"Hey, we got any spare money for some of these?" Valcone turns to Narun and gestures towards some javelins.
Belac93 |
"Sure." Says the old lady. "Let me have a looksy." She feels the battleaxe. "Oh, my! Air infused! Good sir, this will pay for 5 javelins, the axe, and enough food to last you 2 weeks!" She takes it and bustles off bringing what she said.
So, you lose the battleaxe, but get 5 javelins, 14 days rations, and a greataxe. Also, about food, don't forget that Valcone can feed 6 other people, and everyone but him can feed themselves and 1 other person.
Narun Wen |
Narun laughs at Jared's comment, while he looks through the store.
"Well, I suppose I'll buy twenty more arrows. Anything you kids think you need?" Narun asks Skylar and seems to be avoiding Alasie.
He then turns to address the owner of the shop.
"I'd also like to sell these gems." He pulls out the gems from his pack to show the woman.
Narun Wen |
Narun smiles at the children.
"Well, I suppose we can't have you being defenseless in case anything terrible were to happen. But I want you all to understand something. These weapons are not toys. You'll treat it well, and you'll learn to use it properly. It will take a certain amount of work, between cleaning and training. We'll talk about safety once you've chosen a weapon. Understand?" He looks sternly at the four kids.
I was thinking longsword or shortsword for harllo, light crossbow, plus dagger for Sara, daggers or shortbow (or perhaps a sword of sorts?) for Skylar and a glaive for Alasie. Thoughts Jared and Valcone?
Narun Wen |
Narun shrugs.
"Weapons it is then. Harllo, shortsword. Sara, light crossbow and a dagger. Skylar, pair of daggers and a shortbow. And for Alasie, a glaive. Any objections?" Narun looks at the children.
Dear Kyro, I hope we're up to training a whole bunch of children how to use dangerous weapons...
I think that totals to 86 gp. And Valcone agrees about weapons, he just can't post today.

As you walk around, you notice the truth of Gurgle's words. There seems to be no problems at all in this town! Everyone is smiling and happy, there are no sad faced people, and all the children seem to be quite content.
You know where everything is now. There are about 100 houses in the town, the general store, a blacksmith, and a priest.
Belac93 |
Gurgle leads you to his home, a nice little cottage with a river leading into it. As you walk inside, you are hit with the overwhelming smell of the ocean, and see a kind looking lady talking with a merman, half out of the water. She looks up when she sees you enter.
"Oh, visitors! Would you like something to eat?" She takes Valcone by the arm and sets him down on a chair. "Gurgle honey, take the other children to the child section." Once the others have filed out of the room, she looks at you with happy eyes and says, "Now what can I do for you?"
Belac93 |
"Oh, you'll find it!" She waves her hand in your general direction, and ushers you out the door.
Valcone: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Jared: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
You cannot find it. After a little while, you become hopelessly lost, and it is only Narun's sharp eyes that guide everyone back to the docks.
At the docks, you find another problem; there are a dozen ships there, and every one of them is unloading cargo.
Narun Wen |
Narun looks from the sailor, to the kids, and back to the sailor.
"The kiddies...? Oh! I, uh, I suppose they can help with lifting so long as they're, uhm, careful."
He drags his eyes away from the sailor and nods slightly at the children.
"Or would you four rather play around here?"
Narun Wen |
Narun smiles slightly and shrugs back at the sailor.
"You heard the ladies, I guess it's just the adults. I'm Narun, and these are my companions Valcone and Jared."
Narun waves the children off to play.
"So, where's this ship we're to unload?"
He flashes a small smile to the sailor and looks around the docks curiously. His speech seems more casual than usual.

A very skinny red-haired dwarf, alongside an extremely muscular black-haired and tanned elf, glance up at your call. They walk towards the two of you, and the dwarf looks up at you, licking his lips, "Tha'll be ma name. Wot de yoo lot want wit da finnest cap'n en aall ta oceans?" He rumbles.
