The Storyteller

Ouch, I was like this: Why no one is answering my post? So I go back to double check… only to notice that somehow I didn’t post. :( I think I hit preview and forgot to submit.

While the others moves to find what’s the matter to which Argan summoned them, the Oozes slowly craw their way towards the sleeping man and ogre. The moondogs continues their rampart attacking the fleeing followers.

I’ll handwave and take some GM liberties to move you guys a little faster. This first time I’ll overlook this kind of situation with no penalty to the party itself. Next time I shall do as good doers do: Hunt you down while you are alone and unprepared, since everyone is sleeping in a different floor with no means of communication.

That same situation continues, when Lil appears in the second floor, a few moments later an unkempt Vladamir and lastly a panting Kharn.
Placed you guys in the second floor.

At the same time, the Ooze finally manages to get a hold in the sleeping man.
Dmg: 1d6 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + (3) = 8 waking him up not that gently, as the ooze tries to engulf Argan.

But it fails miserably.

You guys can act. Argan consider the fear is over, your weapon laying at your side.

Argan leaves the room where Grumblejack is in, leaving the Ogre to his own fate. There was battle outside and two dogs to be tamed. At the hall he points his sabres to the dog away from the mist (1) and tries to fascinate it so he would be left out of the battle for now. "Time to die!"
DC 17 Will save or suck!

Prayer attack:
At 2nd level, a Crimson assassin learns her signature assassination style. To initiate a prayer attack, she holds her sawtooth sabre (or sabres) out, point down, and weaves the blade in the air. She must be within 30 feet of and visible to her victim. Beginning a prayer attack is a standard action, and causes her victim to be fascinated by her unless he makes a Will save (DC 10 + the Crimson assassin’s class level + her Charisma modifier—if she’s wielding two sawtooth sabres, this DC gains a +2 bonus). She can maintain the fascination effect by concentrating. The victim may attempt a new save to escape fascination each time a threat (other than the fascinating assassin) appears. At any point after 3 rounds, she may make a coup de grace attack against the target, provided the target is still fascinated. Activating or concentrating on maintaining a prayer attack does not provoke an attack of opportunity.

Kharn shifts closer to the dog while making sure to properly aim his strikes instead of focusing on pure power.

Argan keeps approaching the enemy, calmly but steady, to prevent it from breaking free of the fascination. A couple more steps and the dog would be no more.

Maintaining concentration on the prayer attack. Next round is a Coup de grace. No buffs or effects.

Reflex Save DC 23: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Unable to see past the illusion, Zoé chokes and coughs as the incendiary cloud fills her lungs. Realizing quickly the danger the cloud poses, Zoé steps back out into the hallway on the far side of maelstrom, and waves her hand while impatiently whispering in the infernal tongue "Nomen kas!"

Taking a few steps back, and casting Dispel Magic on the Incendiary Cloud.

Dispel Magic on Incendiary Cloud: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Spell Description:
You can also use a targeted dispel to specifically end one spell affecting the target or one spell affecting an area (such as a wall of fire). You must name the specific spell effect to be targeted in this way. If your caster level check is equal to or higher than the DC of that spell, it ends.

Based on the Dispel Magic spell description and the DC above, I think that dispels the cloud?

I think Kharn is in the more immediate danger, I'll patch up Vlad next round with a negative energy spell.

As the cloud dissipates, Zoe is finally able to see clear through towards the conflict. Some kind of canine creatures appear to be engaged with the others; Vlad is unconscious and Kharn appears to be tiring as he struggles with one of the two beasts.

Her metamagic rod in hand, she makes a quick incantation; the rod momentarily appears to glow with a crimson energy which quickly leaps out and embraces the large warrior.

Any news from Lil?

Argan moves and crave his saber in the creature's eyes.
The magic protection it had wasn’t enough to prevent the damage. The celestial being stared at death, until death claimed it.

The other dog is dealt with with Lil’s Zoé and Kharn’s help.
It took some more attacks and bites, but it finally lays dead.

Seeing the final Moon Dog breath its last, Zoe herself breathes a sigh of relief. Moving more calmly into the room, she quickly triages the wounded. "Well, it appears Vlad received the worst of it." Kneeling down beside him, she observes his present state a moment and nods and grins "Those no longer walking in the light of the living, they are the easy ones to restore."

Holding her hands above Vlad, a sinister energy gathers about Zoe's body that glows a sickening black and green. With a quiet prayer to the Dark Lord, the energy seeps into the corpse of the dhamphir warrior.
