"Agh! Grrrrrr..."Vilicent shouts in pain and growls at Livain. He steps back, playing a new melody on his violin now, different from before. "I have had enough of you, dark not-elves, foul creatures of Shadow! Let me give you some new playmates, a demonstration of the powers of hell that you are daring to trifle with!" Rends appear in the fabric of space and three filthy, bearded devils step out, their prehensile beards swirling and writhing disgustingly.
Vilicent places the Barbazu in front of his three greatest threats thus far; one slices Livain with its glaive, creating an infernal wound that peels back the skin on her arm like terrible, cracked black lips. The other two devils appear in front of Mai and Glor, but those warriors are able to dodge the swings at the last second, the brimstone-heated blades whistling through empty air millimeters from their intended victims.

Yea its all DRA's fault bringing in reinforcements. ;p Otherwise I'd keep blasting Vilicent. Also no banishment for me its not one of the possible effect words yet once the ultimate magic book comes out I'm gonna be a happy spellblade.

It is your choice what happens here, to choose between your own destruction and your salvation." He intensely focuses on the devil, paying no attention to the summoned beasts. He slashes intensely, viciously even, spilling more of the creature's dark ichor. His sword, blessed by the Inheritor, shines with a holy light as it cuts through the beast's defenses. It remains clean and untainted by the unholy blood.

@Brook, @Keythan, @Lin: The Kuthites make murmuring noises amongst themselves, but only the one woman speaks loud enough to be heard clearly. "That is fine, master dragon, we've so few weapons, anyway; mostly just ones used for hunting." They unstrap a couple packs and set them by the door along with their weapons which do, indeed, look rather meager.
They make their way down the steps to the fire and sit. One of the women notices Brook. "Oh! Such a handsome young man. Such...such a handsome one. What is your name, if I may ask? I am Doniara." She smiles broadly, but there is little warmth in it.

Lin was tense even after they disarmed. Their meager weapons told her either they were fools or something else... Perhaps something worse...
Hurry back Min... Her thoughts were dancing between hopeful and grim, as she slowly picked up a large piece of wood and tossed it easily into the fire, she watched the priests reactions as she looked across the fire at them. The angry sparks reflected in her eyes as they swirled and died in the cool air of the chamber. "This young soldier is Rook, he is indeed handsome enough to eat but I wouldn't try, he is quite skilled." She gave 'Doniara' a toothy smile, although her smile lacked it's usual mirth. She watched their faces as she asked. "So what do you seek in Manaus? Have you heard any news from the city?"
She occasionally added more wood to the fire, intent on making it a blaze before long.

DM Downrightamazed |

The massive volley of arrows from Min, Livain, and Dolo coupled with Sir Damian's lethal sword strokes serve to damage Vilicent enough that the devil is getting angry, and is clearly hurt. Huffing his breath out in furious bursts he steps back and plays a crazed, high dirge on his fiddle.
"Enough! Knight of the Silver Flame I tire of our dance. Time to change the tune to something more crackling and electric! Haha!" A giant blast of lightning pours out from the tip of his violin bow, shooting into the valiant knight.
All three of the bearded devils take a step back so they can use their glaives and get opportunistic attacks on anyone seeking to approach. The devil by Glorfindel misses with both his strokes, finding the draconic outsider too wily a foe to easily pin down.
The devil by Maiathreen sneers and growls as the agile aellar dances around his swings. "You should be one of us, shadow-elf; the night is in you, the dark twists your soul even now. You cannot be redeemed. Give up! Join us! Know the majesty of Veriala, who will rule all! You make a mockery of your own very existence by parading about with these...these vagrants! An academic, an exiled scout, a cursed woods elf and an unwanted knight-errant! If they knew what you truly were, they wouldn't have you around anyway! Hah!"
Before he can form a retort to the bearded beast's jeering, Maiathreen's attention is taken by a cry of pain from his beloved Livain, whose exclusive concentration on the fiend with the fiddle has allowed her immediate foe to land a brutal slash across her side and back, leaving a festering wound, already black and grey with rot from some infernal curse.

"aaaaaaaAAAAAARGH! ENOUGH! HOLD!" Vilicent is scrabbling backwards on the ground, bleeding from many wounds and pierced by multiple arrows. His black blood is gushing out and his breath comes in terrible wheezes. It is clear, now, that he is no true Cornugon, as he pretended, but is nonetheless a devil of that variety; high up in Hell's hierarchy. He looks up at Belsarious, then over at Sir Damian. "Who are you really? Who sent you here? This place...this place was supposed to be inviolate. But..you shine...so. Like...like her."
Meanwhile, the Bearded Devils continue to fight. The Barbazu on the table tries to adjust its position, so it can use its glaive but in so doing throws off its swings so much that it misses Min badly, the infernal blade whistling past the expert scout's armor.
Maiathreen's advance costs him a swift attack of opportunity from his opponent, which is followed up by a second devastating slash to the ribs, even as the devil is wincing in pain from Mai's accurate attack. Lin sits back on her haunches as she adds yet another log to the steadily growing blaze, she does her best to ignore the rising heat as she watches each of the priest's in turn. She listens politely to Doniara speak of their new colony and is somewhat interested in how the plan to make their idea a reality. Trying not to be rude Lin continues to ask simple, and somewhat broad questions, to keep them distracted and to broaden her knowledge in the hopes that Min and the others returns soon. "I am impressed that your beliefs have pushed you to travel so far but I am confused as to why others would persecute you for your beliefs? Perhaps it would be easier to understand if we started from the beginning, if you please, 'High Priestess' Doniara."

DM Downrightamazed |

I'll use Belsarious' action from up above as his action this round.
As Belsarious sends an arrow whistling past Vilicent's head to drive home Sir Damian's point, the beleaguered and beaten devil starts and then glares at you both, though its voice has a desperate, keening edge to it when it speaks. "Haven't you been listening? I cannot free them! They are bound here by the ties in the contract they signed with Valac, who resides in Hell itself! I could not free them even if I wanted to, only he can!" An idea seems to occur to the cleric-devil.
"I could...take you...to Valac, if you wished it. Surely warriors as mighty as yourselves, with me as your defeated foe along in your thrall, could convince him of the justness of your cause and win their freedom."
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
Dolo/Glor are up, then Sir Damian. Will the sword fall?!

DM Downrightamazed |

@Lin, @Keythan, @Brook: Doniara blushes crimson. "Oh no, not 'High' Priestess. I've not yet achieved such rank. Someday, perhaps. The Midnight Lord practices certain rites of physical…restructuring and acceptance of pain that help grant focus to the mind, and increase the beauty and presentability of the physical form. So, despite the fact we are all skilled surgeons, those who fear our rituals and lifestyle as being too different or 'dangerous' often seek to drive us away. Such it is we come to Manaus, newly-freed, and seek to establish our own community. We are willing and able to trade medical services and leathercraft for in-kind trade and goods, and as such hope to begin a new life."

Sir Damian Lamorak |

Profession: Soldier 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Damian knows a diversion when he sees one. Tactically, entering the realm of Vilicent's master would be a suicide mission, even guided by the fiend. His voice is coldly righteous, authoritative and confident in the correctness of his cause.
