I'll be creating and submitting a tiefling archeologist bard. An adventurer who used to be human, but was exploring the ruins of an ancient Osirion temple, and uncovered a dark magic that transformed him. Instead of recoiling from this, he has embraced his new otherworldly appearance and abilities, and continues to explore the ancient ruins, determined to uncover the secrets of Osirion and the ancient power they commanded. I'm off tomorrow morning so I'll take the test and create the crunch and all then. I have been homebrewing an adventure in the sands, because I have really been wanting to play an adventure set there, so I was really excited to find that this was the new ap!

GM, you missed my character
I present Gabriel - the chosen of Pharasma.
He is currently 20pb, as most games here are 20pb and I created him without specific recruitment thread in mind. I will update him to 15pb if choosen.
From the description above, he is probably ISTP - The Mechanic, although he is not good with mechanical things.
But the test result for this character was INTJ - The Scientist. That might be a bit true, he is just not scientific at all.
He could even be ESTP - The Doer. He just does not have any people skills to speak of.So he is probably something between the three.
As to the way he met the others in the adventuring group - he is a quick replacement for someone on the team who died (or disapeared or just decided not to participate at the last moment) - he did not cause it, he just took advantage of the opportunity.

Sadly drop outs are so common, I don't even think an 'extra' will help much. The game either goes well and is special, or it is not. In two years I have many more campaigns that were stopped than are thriving.

Submitting Khismia Favaur and her eidolon Agni! Khismia registered ESFJ - The Caregiver. For fun, I took the test for Agni as well, who registered as ENTJ - The Executive.

GM Tribute |

First, this is really my first competitive recruitment. In my others, I have had a soft heart and let everyone in, often running two groups. Many drops later, I was combining groups or recruiting again. One adventure finished after two years with two characters of the original twelve from the original two groups of six. This time, I am experimenting with being more selective. Many here have some GM chops, so I am hoping they will take those that I do not take. They may even give you a 20 pt build!
I want to run an AP 'by the book', so we are sticking to the lower build of 15 and the four character limit. During selection I also was thinking of party balance and so, as I chose certain characters, it changed the odds of future characters being selected as I tried to make sure the core four had many essential roles covered. Here is my rationale--I feel I owe you owe more than a short list with no explanation.
So--I first have chosen Fatima the Zen Archer dwarf. As much as I tried to not choose a monk for a party of four and almost discounted her from the beginning, I kept coming back to the character as a whole. The background is detailed, compelling, and fits together with an amazing consistency. The duty-bound dwarf protecting the relics of the past struck a deep chord with me--Fatima was a truly original twist on the timeless dwarven racial duty bound archetype. To make the cut and be first, Fatima had to overcome my strong prejudices of allowing a monk into a four-person party. She ended up finishing as the first character I needed to make fit in the party.
Then we have Albrecht, the Alchemist. Having chosen a 4 skill point 'skilled character', Albrecht was attractive for balance reasons as well as standing on his own merits. His background was truly original and the INT based mindchemist makes up some ground in the skill department. Looking for 'pure' ingredients in the pure desert sun was a good touch. I liked the quirkiness of Albrecht--I can't help thinking of the professor in 'Back to the Future'
Then I find the group needing more front line power and an extrovert to balance two introverts--so my divine selection is Dusty Fireseeker. The background was short, but compelling. And left me wanting to know more about her. Picking her was the only way to make this happen.
Finally, I had a trio with some strong healing and no solid frontliner. No one has martial power but needs healing like a barbarian. Raziya Nocoltus had a compelling background with the resurrection angle woven into a brutal, compelling story. I see him as the somewhat brutal and unemotional alien. I thought of the Garth the Overman (old fantasy) and Jayne from Firefly rolled into one. To summarize, I couldn't look away from Raziya: [spoiler=Seinfeld reference to the painting of Kramer} “He is a loathsome, offensive brute, yet I can’t look away”– Mr. Armstrong 4. quote: “He transcends time and space. He sickens me. I love it.” — Mr. & Mrs Armstrong[/spoiler]
For those of you that did not make it, I hope you find another chance to explore the ruins with another DM. I urge you to consider using the 16 Myers-Briggs types to help with your backgrounds. There was a player named Wareagle on the board when I first joined that told me I needed to make good backgrounds to be selected. It definitely helps!

OK--we have lost a player in Mummy's Mask. The characters are still level 1 and are missing the trapfinding member of the team. If anyone is interested with a build than can fill the trap disarmer, let us know.
Note: There is a campaign trait that gives trapfinding to ANYONE!!
Yes, it is official, rogues are on the endangered species list.

I will make an alias if accepted. I have not played a PbP before so please forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place.
Here is my application.
NUBIRI BYLO (ISTP)
The missing mother is the source of her aasimar heritage, and is intentionally left vague for the DM to pick up on as a plotline if desired.
During her childhood, Nubiri has enjoyed a mostly warm and loving relationship with her father, who has created a number of clockwork toys for her over the years. Through exploring these toys, Nubiri has grown up with a highly mechanically oriented mind, and might have followed in her father's footsteps as a locksmith one day.
Unfortunately, her father had other plans for Nubiri. As a servant of Irori, Nubiri's father had a relatively selfless philosophy, and often, when his clients could not pay for his services, he did not pursue the matter and allowed debts to be forgotten. As a result, the family was quite poor. Because of this, Nubiri's father did not particularly desire a mechanical profession for his daughter, and in fact, his worship of Irori was strong enough that he encouraged her to seek a life of religious service. Ideally, he envisioned his daughter serving at the Monastery of Tar Kuata, the main center of Irori worship in Osirion.
Because the father and daughter had a largely positive relationship, Nubiri respected and obeyed her father, and studied the worship of Irori during her teenage years still living in Wati. However, where her father's vision of Irori worship was greatly self-sacrificing, Nubiri gradually came to see the deity's teachings differently. For her, striving for self-perfection did not mean making yourself poor. Perhaps it was her childhood spent in poverty because of her father's self-sacrifice, or perhaps it was a rebellious impulse during her teenage years, or a combination of both, but Nubiri ultimately came to believe that striving for self-perfection included improving not only one's physical and mental standing, but also economic standing. Thus, Nubiri wants to be strong, agile, robust, intelligent, wise, charismatic -- *and rich*.
Her divine schooling in Wati involved a lot of harsh lessons in the surrounding wilderness, and Nubiri became greatly familiar with the purging influence of the desert. As she grew towards adulthood, and towards the completion of her Iroran studies in Wati, she learned the harmonies of the sands, and came to wield divine druidic magic.
At the time of the campaign's start, when the Necropolis of Wati is opened to outsiders, Nubiri had been wrapping up her affairs in the half-dead city, and was preparing for a pilgrimage to the Monastery of Tar Kuata. However, the sudden opportunity opening in her home city tempts her greatly, and she is considering joining an adventuring company to improve her economic standing before her journey to Tar Kuata.

Working on crunch, but here's the background on Seneb, rogue.
I am Senebenhof, but my friends call me Seneb.
How old are you?
By whose calendar? If you're going by the standard, I'm 18. If you gauge by street experience, then I am much older.
Do you have any personal goals? What are they?
At the end of a long journey, having a weapon at your side, a horse between your knees and a woman that loves you seems to be the best thing to live for. In the end though, just belonging somewhere is important. If you don't have a home, then anything else doesn't really matter. Although, finding my sister is a high priority.
Where are you from and why are you here?
I grew up on the streets of Wati, so even though I left a few years ago, the opening of the tombs brought me back. My mother had always said that her family was descended from great pharoahs but that she had no proof. She would always point to the necropolis and tell me that when I went there, I would find proof. I could never bring myself to raid the toombs and face being judged for it, but now I have a chance to find that proof. And getting wealth and fortune in the end isn't bad either.
Who is your best friend?
I would have to say that Vanderon, the woman that taught me how to use a knife and treat people with respect. She's not much older than I am, but she knows how to handle a knife and has my respect. So yes, she would be my best friend.
Who is your most potent ally?
I'm not sure I've found a true ally yet. I know I have a couple of aqaintences, but if I had to say then Vanderon would also be my more potent ally.
Who is your greatest enemy?
Grishnar, a half-orc thug who tried to press me into the service of his gang. Because I managed to escape, he took it out on my sister and her family. Her family's dead and I haven't seen her since. I want him just as dead.
Have you ever killed anyone? Who?
A couple of Grishnar's thugs, and some monstrous creatures in my journeys outside of Osirion.
What is your most prized possession?
I'd have to say it's a signet ring given me by my mother last time I saw her. She said it had been in her family for generations, but I haven't found anything out about it yet.
What is your most closely guarded secret?
According to my mother, my father was a nobleman, and had no heirs when he and my mother were together. I guess that would make me some kind of noble, but I definitely don't feel it.
Do you owe any debts? What are they?
Nope, I've been lucky enough to just buy what I can afford. Although, I do feel a debt of honor to Vanderon.
Do you have any old grudges? What are they?
I've been trying to forget the past and look to a new future. However, I'm sure there are a few that I ticked off here in Wati that aren't as lenient as I am. If I run into them, I'll deal with it then.
What is your single greatest regret?
Leaving my home and not being there when that thug attacked my family.
Of what accomplishment are you most proud?
Having the courage to return home.
