Seeing the rustling papers flying out to attack, Nevai quickly brought his khopesh to bear to defend himself.

Mwk Khopesh: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 1 = 11, Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5

Unfortunately, his slash wasn't fast enough and he was quickly wrapped up and he let out a muffled cry of surprise.

Setesh attempts to rip the scroll from his throat, attempting to bundle it up in a ball of crumpled paper.

Round 2 before scrolls

Leto looks surprised as the scrolls wrap themselves around his friends heads.

What kind of foul magic is this? Quick, let´s get them off!

He let´s go of his bow, jumps over to Nevai, grabs one end of the scroll and tries to rip it.

Taking some rp liberties here, just making a normal IUS attack

How much am I bleeding?

As the fluttering scroll cut his face, Nevai tried to get his blade between his skin and the paper so he could cut it away.

Can't see the flag so no bonuses for me!

"What the? I certainly did not expect flying papers."

Almathea moves over to Setesh and casts Diviner's Fortune on him.

Leto's two arrows tear through the scroll as it leaps forward. Setesh manages to pull the paper away from his face. Nevai cuts himself slightly while trying to pry the paper away (3 damage). It does not seem to damage the scroll creature at all.

Round 2: Initiative 10
Bleeding:

Nevai: 1d2 ⇒ 2

The scroll attacking Setesh lashes out, then flies away into the large hall.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

The other stays firmly wrapped around Nevai, though the grease certainly makes that tenuous.

Round 3, Init 19

After injuring himself with a sword, Nevai decided it was best to try to escape with the help of Erei's magical grease.

CMB to escape the grapple: 1d20 + 5 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 10 = 33

As the scroll slid free from his face, Nevai gasped and moved his khopesh back into his dominant hand.

Round 3, Initiative Low (5)
Tunar chases after the one flying away, drawing his Greatsword as he moves. Double Move

Erei will attempt to stab the still-grappling scroll.

"These things are just mindless constructs. I guess we triggered a booby trap by opening up that panel."

Thea flings a blob of acid after the flying scroll, worried about it popping up later.

Leto looks surprised as the scrolls wrap themselves around his friends heads.

He let´s go of his bow, jumps over to Nevai, grabs one end of the scroll and tries to rip it.

That was my fault, Leto. I thought I had noted that your attack had no discernible effect, but apparently not.

Erei manages to stab at the scroll around Nevai, but seems to do more harm to his ally than the enemy. 3 damage to Nevai. Almathea tosses acid at the flying scroll and burns a hole through it.

Nevai slips out of the scroll holding him.

Round 3: Initiative 10

The scroll in the main hall swoops down and attacks Tunar before rising up into the hall again. It's about 15 feet off the floor now. Also, Tunar, you get an AoO.

Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

The other takes a slash at Nevai, then also flies out into the main hall, taking off into the air. Also 15 feet off the ground.

Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Round 4, Init 19

With the scrolls out of range, Nevai worked to close the bleeding wounds they had caused.

Do I get an AoO as it flies away from me? If so...

Almathea will toss another glob of acid at the scroll that fled from Nevai.

Tunar slashes at the scroll as it "swoops" at him.

Round 3 INI 27 Retconning a bit due to misunderstanding

Leto goes back and picks up his bow, immediately shooting at the next scroll.

FoA: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 201d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Neither scroll is currently in a grapple. You can, however, attack either scroll when it flies down to attack someone. Unless you're just being descriptive, of course. You just can't initiate a grapple as part of an unarmed strike. (Grab is the ability you need for that.) And on round 3 you can attack it before it flies off, so your attack is fine. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew it's not in a grapple.

Also, everyone, make sure to put round and initiative in your posts. And update your initiative if you've delayed or readied an action.

I was being descriptive since i thought it was still wrapped around Nevais head - overread that sorry - and didn´t want to write Leto thrusts the sword into the scroll wrapped around his friends head^^

Absolutely! I have no problem with descriptive combat, by the way! (Just to make it clear.)

Sorry, just in case it wasn't clear: When I made the grapple check earlier and described 'crumpling' the scroll, I was trying to take control of the grapple.

Initiative 3:

Setesh shrugs, and moves to attack one of the scrolls.

Cold Iron Sickle: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23, for 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Slashing damage.

Whoops! Sorry about that! The one attacking Nevai is in the main hall. The other is still being held by Setesh.

Almathea burns off more of the scroll, Tunar's attack slices a large gash in one, and Leto's arrow seems to do some minor damage to another. Setesh's attack also manages to do a small amount of damage.

Round 4: Initiative 10

The scroll flying in the main hall swoops down and attacks Nevai again before returning to its place. Tunar, Erei, and Nevai all have attacks of opportunity if you want.

The other scroll continues to attack Setesh and wraps itself around his face again.

Nevai swung at the scroll as it flew in, before deflecting its flight with his shield.

Nevai kept an eye on the hovering scroll as he stepped next to Setesh and prepared to strike when an opportunity presented itself.

Ah okay, I got a little mixed up with where everyone was and what round it was. I make a good Barbarian, hitting things is simple...Oh! Erei! Yippee!

He readies to attack it if it comes within his reach. Ditto on the readied action. Meant to do that last round, whoops.

Erei will ready an action to stab at the flying scroll if it comes into range again.

Setesh fails to gt ahold of the scroll wrapped around his face. The other attempts to swoop down and attack Tunar, but between Erei's stab, Tunar's quick strikes, and more acid, the paper is torn apart and the scroll bar snaps and clatters on the ground.

Round 5: Initiative 10
Bleed (Setesh): 1d2 ⇒ 2

The scroll wrapped around Setesh's head flaps and flails around trying to keep its place, and slashing away at his captive.

Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

I believe this puts Setesh at 1hp between damage and healing? Please, make sure to update hp on characters during the fights. Also, please continue to put round and initiative at the top of combat posts.

"Hold still a moment Setesh, it's really digging in there," Nevai said as he drew his wand and closed one of Setesh's particularly deep paper cuts.

After watching the destruction of one of the scrolls, Leto shoots the other, trying to avoid putting an arrow into Seteshs head.

I don't plan on attempting to stab that thing while it is grabbing anyone again...

Round 5, Initiative 3:

Setesh frantically tries to pull the scroll from his face...

CMB: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12.

...but all he manages to do is weakly scratch at it.

Leto's arrows slam into the scroll, though again, seeming to do more damage to Setesh than the the animated paper. Setesh takes 7 damage from the two arrows. As Setesh falls to the ground, the scroll unwraps and part of it falls with him. Almathea's acid splash goes wild as the others stand ready to attack the scroll if it leaves Setesh alone. Luckily, Nevai's healing keeps Setesh from bleeding out and wakes him up.

Round 6: Initiative 10

The scroll lets go of Setesh as he falls and Tunar slams his sword into it. Erei's spear seems to nick it a bit, though it seems to do nothing. It lashes out at Tunar as it flies up into the air. Erei, Tunar, Setesh, and Nevai; you all have attacks of opportunity here.

Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 and Bleed

Setesh groans.

"I can't believe that I am having my behind handed to me by a piece of animated papyrus..."

Since I would have dropped my weapon when I fell unconscious, I don't get an AoO.

Tunar swings in annoyance at the scroll thing after it hits him, swinging in retaliation.

Wiping blood from his wounds he drops his sword and draws out his bow. And then fires a cold iron arrow. "Stupid piece of paper, know your place!"

Tunar's attack goes wide as the thing flies up. His arrow manages to hit it, but appears to do nothing.
