This is the OOC discussion thread for all the groups. If you have a question for me or just want to talk OOC, do it here. Once you've agreed to form a group in character, inform me here and I will create a gameplay thread for you.

Heyo- dotting for great justice. Looking forward to the game.

Oh and that is the most baddass compass I have ever seen.

I created that map from a Paizo base image, so thank them :P

This post is fair warning to everybody. This is a sandbox game in the Worldwound, as such there may be things out there that can and will kill you easily. Don't assume that just because you encounter something, you will have a chance at killing it. Running like hell is sometimes the best option. This shouldn't be a big problem, like I said, just fair warning.

AOO:
[dice=AOO Unarmed]1d20+13[/dice] [dice=Damage]1d6+4[/dice] #1
Group Boni:
+1 morale bonus to attacks rolls while charging; +2 morale bonus on saving throws against fear
Human Cavalier (Luring Cavalier) 7 / Monk (Zen Archer) 3 (HP 81/81; AC 25/20/23; F+13/R+10/W+15; CMD 33; Perc +26; Init +2)

I'm ready too. I think, we should wäit till a group of four has formed here.

That's up to you, but I still want people to form groups in character. Until you've posted in game play you don't officially exist yet. You can start exploring the keep or roleplaying with NPCs/each other now if you like.

Male Duregar Exile Monk (Quinggong) 6

Hello guys. Tamas here, ready to play. How are you guys doing?

Ari sizes Tamas up and wonders what would bring a Duregar out of hiding. Eventually he walks over to Tamas and says:

Greetings Tamas. Ari Mai is my name.

Male Duregar Exile Monk (Quinggong) 6

Tamas extends his hand and gives the elf a friendly smile. "Why hello there. And how are you on this fine day, Ari Mai? The wind is magnificent, isn't it? It's days like today, when the wind is in your hair and the sun shines down on you, with no clouds in the sky, that make you appreciate the value of life and everything it entails." He sighs happily to himself.

Ari Mai casts a glance at Nathaniel and nods at him as an invitation to join the conversation. Then he shakes the big dwarf's hands and says

Indeed the weather is good. It puts me in good spirits. Where are you from?

What are the formatting conventions for this pbp campaign?

Bold for speech?
Italics for thoughts?
*asterisks* for actions?

Male Duregar Exile Monk (Quinggong) 6

Tamas smiles. "We all come from the earth, do we not? By the grace of the gods that give us life. Though I suppose if I had to specify, I would admit that I come from the town of Ustalav."

Move over to the Gameplay thread for in character interactions please. The Watchful Blade inn would be a great place for this conversation to be taking place. Glad to see people roleplaying though.

Speech. Thoughts Actions

Jelani, could you describe where we are now? I am assuming that we are in one of the barracks, or are we standing in some yard together?

You can be anywhere in the keep that you like. You could be outside, in the inn or in one of the barracks.

@ Jin Takahashi - It can be cold iron if you pay the price for a cold iron scimitar. Your balde is open with you about it's purpose, but it pretends to be unintelligent around others unless forced to reveal itself.

Awesome dude, Thank-you.

Edit: Char sheet and background updated.

Wow. We are fighting DEMONS and our Sorcerer is FIRE focused?!

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

GM, what do I need to roll to figure out that he is talking to his sword?

Jin Takashi wrote:

Demons are resistant or immune to every kind of energy type. Resist in case of fire. Now if we were talking about Devils it would be very bad. For the exceptions need to just use something else.

Like Viorel said, devils are immune to fire, demons are immune to electricity.

Like I told you in the other thread, STR Ranger, if you want to blast evil outsiders, the only effective way to do it is to play a cleric.

Male Elf Hexcrafter Bladebound Magus 6, Init+3, F8/R6/W8+2vs Mind Effecting,AC19/T14/FF16, 45/45HP

I just chuckled at it is all. Crossblooded is quite powerful. (6d6+12)x1.5 from an empowered fireball is quite nice at this level.
I'd never take the hit to spell knowledge at lvl1-5 but starting at 6 is a sweet spot. He'll get fireball next level. (Btw, you should check out BURNING Arc! Awesome spell for a fire focusedsorc)

Electric immune sux for me. I'll be using other spells as well. They aren't immune to non lethal, so I'll focus on Rime Frostbite and Frigid Touch.

@ Nathaniel - He's communicating telepathically with his sword (thus the italics) so unless you have a way to read thoughts, you're unaware of the conversation. He would just come off as a wierdo probably.

The problem with living in China is everything happens while I am sleeping! I will update the NPC actions in the tavern in a few hours when I have some more time. Looks really great so far though. Keep the RP coming :)

No problem, I was just wondering if a Sense Motive or some such thing might do it.

I live in Australia- Same!

Checking in, didn't realize the discussion and gameplay threads were up.

Checking in.

male dwarf ranger/6

Checking in, just wanting to make sure, how many groups are setting out, etc. I thought that you had one group and the rest of us are in reserve/ may be sent out later independant of the other.

No. You form groups in character at your own discretion in the gameplay thread. People are currently hanging out in the tavern talking about each other's abilities. I am willing to run up to three groups at once. Once you've agreed in character to form a group and set out I will make a gameplay thread for you.

This is as good a time as any to go over exploration rules. You can either cross a hex, with a variable chance (or skill check depending) to discover anything in it or you can spend the time to fully explore a hex and be guaranteed to find anything there. You will also be granted 300 XP each for each hex explored.

Time to cross 1 hex
Speed: Plains: All Other Terrains:
15 feet 23 hours 32 hours
20 feet 17 hours 25 hours
30 feet 11 hours 17 hours
40 feet 9 hours 13 hours
50 feet 7 hours 11 hours

Time to fully explore 1 hex
Speed: Plains: Desert: Mountain:
15 feet 6 Days 8 Days 10 Days
20 feet 4 Days 6 Days 8 Days
30 feet 2 Days 4 Days 6 Days
40 feet 2 Days 2 days 4 Days
50 feet 2 Days 2 Days 2 Days

Will also add this to campaign info tab for future reference

male dwarf ranger/6

Sounds great thank you.

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

...three dwarves? Seriously? One more and we can have Gimli in surround-sound... No offence to the dwarves, you'll have to prove me wrong personality-wise :)

male dwarf ranger/6

I will endevour to try. :) And hey a party with 3 dwarves save or suck spells yeah not so much. hopes I dont roll a one.

Keep up the RP guys, I'm excited to see what groups form up. I'll check back in eight hours or so.

Hill Dwarf Fighter (Siegebreaker, Brawler) 2 AC 20/12/18 / HP : 28/28 / F +6(9) R +2(5) W +2(5) / Init. +2 / Perc. +2 / Sense Motive +2

Hey Jelani, I just realized that cold iron is going to help a lot more than having +1 enchantment (world wound, demons duh), so swapping my +1 Ranseur to a mwk cold iron one.

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

Torin is making some sense, I might do the same- ill look into it.

male dwarf ranger/6

It is definatly an idea, I could drop the +1 from the kukri and a cloak of resistance or natural armour +1

AoO:
[dice=AOO (large cold-iron demon-bane bastard sword)]1d20+16[/dice [dice=Damage]2d8+10[/dice 1
Warped Demonspawn (custom tiefling) Invulnerable Rager 10

Don't forget that it will cost an extra 2000 to magic cold iron later on. But yeah it's still a good idea. That's why I bought the t-shirt.

Hrm, that Torin is a wily one. I'm doing the same I think. Well, to one of my short swords anyways.

Male Elf Hexcrafter Bladebound Magus 6, Init+3, F8/R6/W8+2vs Mind Effecting,AC19/T14/FF16, 45/45HP

If those I mention are keen to form a group, on mechanical strength I picked

Barbarian- world serpent gives HIGH saves. Has Strong Melee.
Dwarf Quiggon monk-HIGH saves. Decent Melee and Crouching Tiger powe
Mega Balster Sorc- You can never have too much damage.
Cleric- Every party needs one and his domains are sweet.
Me- Hexcrafter gives me a few unlimited hexes, I can back up, the fighters, fly and evil eye foes to lower AC's or Saves making everyone else's job easier. My saves are good too.

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

GM, upgraded my masterwork falchion to cold-iron.

DM Jelani, are there any others waiting for approval? I saw two wizards in the recruitment thread. Is there any more healing types?

Male Elf Hexcrafter Bladebound Magus 6, Init+3, F8/R6/W8+2vs Mind Effecting,AC19/T14/FF16, 45/45HP

Should we sort out groups here?

How about
Barb -Melee
Magus-Striker/Magic/Skills
Ranger-Scout/Melee/Companion
Sorc- Blast Magic
Gnoll Paladin?- Healing melee?

and

Monk -Melee
Rogue- Skills/Striker
Cavalier- Ranged/Companion
Synthesist- Striker/Magic
Cleric- Buff/Heal
Admixture Wiz?- Blast Magic

One group is short a full arcane, one is short a full divine. The blue guys are ready to play but await GM approval.

This does seem a more balanced division. I think there was a second wizard awaiting approval if I am not mistaken. Sure would like to see another healer. Having a ranger and a paladin in the same group offsets some of the healing but it still isn't a full on cleric.

Male Human Ranger 1

No it's not. HP wise it's OK. I can cast Infernal Healing as well and have a wand of it. So between the 3 we are OK for HP. Condition relief we only have the paladin mercies.

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

Personal preference, PLEASE do not call me a striker; I prefer front-line fighter.

Striker just makes it all sound far too much like an MMORPG.

And I can also do Infernal Healing.

Sorry, my internet is out at home at the moment (not sure what the problem is but trying to get it fixed) so it might be a little bit before I can really handle things.

I do need to approve those two in the recruitment thread, but I don't have time to check them over properly right now because I'm at work.

With the cold iron thing, it's fine if you guys all buy it but I will say that not all the enemies are going to be demons. I've tried to populate the wastes with a variety of creatures.

Edit:And are all of you really such nice people that you would agree to split up into the most equally balanced groups for no apparent reason? Don't any of you have an agenda :P? I mean, it's up to y'all just seems like you're all rather friendly for strangers.

Shadow Lodge

HP 100/100, Fort 13 Ref 20 Will 11, AC 21 TAC 16 FFAC 15, Init 8, CMD 33

Relax, my character is planning to knife all of his party members and claim the lordship for himself.

*looks around*

Err... I mean, knife the demons and share in the spoils amongst ourselves fairly? Right....? Guys....?

Male Elf Hexcrafter Bladebound Magus 6, Init+3, F8/R6/W8+2vs Mind Effecting,AC19/T14/FF16, 45/45HP

Well I already tried to stack a group with Mega saves

You guys are all wickedly powerful compared to normal sixth level characters, so expect this to be challenging. Also with hero points to blow, that means I can kill all of you at least once before you actually die. -evil grin-

Hey guys, looking forward to reclaiming the Worldwound!

After reading Mr Wound Blooded's recent post about the lost cities, I was looking at the official Golarion map, and realized the one I made is about 700 miles across. The official map shows the Worldwound at about 250 miles or so, so I will be making a revised map to reflect that. It's actually good news for me as I have fewer hexes to populate. Just wanted to give a heads up that the current map is way too big.
