Drazan of Peklenc |

Drazan will spend the day with his npc cohorts catching up with as many of them as he can unless he's needed in the library for some reason.

Istiel |

We need some of our found magic items identified.
I'm all for adventuring in the library. Glory and all that.

Imix |

What's the deal with the con damaged people? Imix isn't that sort of cleric.

Istiel |

Also, can we get our level 5 scaling item abilities pleeeease?

Oios |

Oios should probably have a RP attempt at talking to his sister. He really doesn't want to though but he's never been the sort to let that stop him from doing necessary things.
But also his player doesn't want to either. So I'll put up a short post tomorrow about it. Shouldn't affect anything so it can be down out of time.

Istiel |

I seem to be on the only one voting to go to the library, though Imix has not said one way or another.
Istiel will get her Con damage healed and continue her training, cause if she can't punch books she might as well punch the next best thing- trees.

Oios |

Don't mind doing it, doesn't preclude Oios trying to talk to his sister.

GM Belicose Poultry |

Istiel will get her Con damage healed and continue her training, cause if she can't punch books she might as well punch the next best thing- trees.
But these trees are wimpy drought-stricken things. Where's the glory in that?
At the risk of taking away agency and not being truly sandboxy, Oios and Istiel don't likely survive the library.

Drazan of Peklenc |

I'm not opposed to going to library, just need to hear the reason again to mind me why we want to go there.

Oios |

I don't remember the library either honestly. To get more tribute? It's another of the ruins?

Drazan of Peklenc |

I suppose more experience and potential magic items is enough of a reason.

Istiel |

We actually have a lot of money and things to trade if anyone wants to do some shopping. Istiel isn't about to suggest a shopping spree though.
She's still all for the library. Also, the magic items need identifying.

Oios |

What shopping is even available? I'm pretty sure there's no Classic Pathfinder style magic mart around.

Istiel |

I think you underestimate the sophistication of the beastman city! They have a Senate for goodness sake. Hopefully chaired by a very stern water bufflo-man.

GM Belicose Poultry |

The beastmen can barter for useful items, consider it a 1:1 trade. They don't have much interest in non-utilitarian things like coinage.
However, the time when you can spend the coinage/jewelry/etc. will come, I promise.
We can put off a shopping trip since it looks like you all are headed to the library.
Anything you want ID'd, leave with an NPC and they'll look into it for you.
Gameplay post(s) incoming...

Imix |

Imix can make items. He is your market. ;P
Sorry for the lack of comms. Work is picking up like crazy until friday.

Istiel |

GM, can you please have the NPCs identify our:
1 unidentified potion
1 coral kuriki (not sure if magic)
1 magical painting
1 magical orrey

Imix |

For what it is worth...
spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
I've been looking searching the site and the wiki, and having real trouble finding anything about the library. I'm about to start just reading back (which I should do anyway, soon)
Howsabout someone with diplomacy tries to gather information?

Istiel |

How dangerous are we talking here? Please indicate on a scale of 1 to 5 dragons.

Drazan of Peklenc |

Also, can we get our level 5 scaling item abilities pleeeease?
The suspense is killing me!

GM Belicose Poultry |

We've got a few different timelines and I think I've made things more confusing than need be.
I'm going to spoiler Oios's continuing conversation with his sister.
Likewise, I'm going to spoiler Drazan's early morning bit. Drazan, I think I wasn't clear - you're dreaming.
I'm going to call the pre-library stuff "morning" and the library stuff "library."
I got some (re)work done on the items this weekend. Should be able to get them out to everyone today. I'm a little stuck on Oios's staff.

Oios' staff should shoot holy water.
Like really really hard.

It's likely my fault. I get confused easily.

This masterwork ancient axe attunes itself to fearsome fighters, reveling in their carnage as much as their bearers. This axe is treated as if it is a masterwork greataxe. The true power of the greataxe is activated once its bearer kills a foe with a critical hit.
Once the bearer kills a foe with a critical hit, the Baneaxe gives one spell point per character level to the bearer of the axe. The bearer of the axe has a caster level equivalent as a mid-caster, based off his the bearer's total character level, regarding the activation and effects of the axe's abilities, and wisdom as its casting stat.
1 spell point: Fearsome: The axe's bearer gains a +2 bonus on intimidate checks. If the bearer of the axe can rage as the barbarian class ability, he gains an additional number of rounds of rage per day equal to the spell points the axe provides, but these rage rounds must be powered by spending a spell point for each round the character remains in a rage (free action to spend the spell point).
3 spell points: War Leader: The bearer of the Baneaxe gains the War sphere, the base power of which can be powered using spell points from the axe, as well as any other spell points the bearer possesses. If the bearer already has the War sphere, or takes it later with a feat or class ability, the bearer of the Baneaxe can chose a talent from the War sphere as a bonus talent. This talent can be retrained.
5 spell points: King of Kings: The Baneaxe is a fearsome weapon, and the bearer of the Axe is fearsome to their followers. The axe's bearer gains the intimidating prowess feat, and can use intimidate in place of the diplomacy skill for any subject of his/her race and cultural group (in Drazan's case, this would be Mountain Men).

Istiel's mask has been imbued with some of Domhnall's consciousness. As such, she has some insight into the nature of time. The mask gains one spell point per character level, which may be used by the wearer of the mask as part of another action. As the mask gains spell points, additional abilities will be unlocked.
1 spell point: Timeless: The wearer of the mask can gain use of the Time sphere's base abilities. The Haste ability is self-only.
3 spell points: Practice Makes Perfect:The wearer of the mask gains the Repetition talent. It is a self-only ability.
5 spell points: It Gets Easier Over Time: The wearer of the mask gains the Second Chance talent. This can be applied retroactively to the previous GM action due to the nature of PBP.

GM Belicose Poultry |

The staff is carved in a wavy line, like a meandering stream. Made of white birch, it is old and worn, light, almost white, in color. Lighter than one would think, the top of the staff forks into a "y", a stylistic symbol of a forked river. The staff glows a bright yellow light if grasped within 30' of an undead creature by a worshiper of Damballah.
Once the staff is used to attack an undead creature, the staff's powers activate. The staff gains one spell point per character level, which may be used by the wielder of the staff as part of another action (use a sphere, etc.). As the staff gains spell points, additional abilities will be unlocked.
1 spell point: Damballah Smite Thee!: the wielder of the staff can smite as the paladin class ability, using the wielder's casting modifier instead of wisdom, if appropriate. This ability costs one spell point to use, and otherwise functions as the class ability, including the number of times/day the staff can be used.
3 spell points: Damballah is Life: The wielder of the staff gains the Life Sphere, unless he or she already has it, in which case the wielder gains access to a talent from the life sphere of the wielder's choice. This talent can be changed out at every level.
5 spell points: Lorekeeper: The Staff of Damballah is a repository for the knowledge and secrets of the Three Peoples. The bearer of the Staff of Damballah may channel this lore, temporarily gaining the knowledge and experience of the Three Peoples. As a standard action, the bearer may grant himself the benefit of any one magic talent or combat feat he doesn't possess. This effect lasts for 1 minute. The bearer must meet all of the feat’s prerequisites, or if gaining a magic talent other than a base sphere, he must possess that talent’s base sphere. This ability costs three spell points.

GM Belicose Poultry |

Gives one extra spell point per character level. To utilize these spell points, the helmet/shield's bearer must be Suriname or trained in Suriname Theurgy.
1 spell point: Suriname Channel: If a Suriname can channel energy, the helmet/shield can increased the channel in power as if the Suriname is older, wiser, and more experienced. Spend one spell point to raise the effective level of your channel by two levels. If a Suriname cannot channel energy, by spending a spell point the Suriname can channel energy as a 1st level cleric.
3 spell points: Suriname Empower: By spending at least a spell point, the Suriname can empower a sphere talent or a channel. This works like the Empower Spell or Empower Channel ability. The Empower Channel ability of Suriname Empower stacks with Suriname Channel, but spell points must be spent to activate each ability.
5 spell points: Suriname Priest: The Suriname's magic is meant to mimic the power of the Gods, and the Suriname's helmet and shield are bonded to a god particularly similar to the Suriname's Theurgy. Choose one diety that the helmet/shield have bonded with (ideally, this would be a god that most shares the Suriname's worldview). The Suriname gains one of the diety's domains whenever he is wearing the helmet and shield, chosen when this ability is gained, as the inquisitor ability of the same name. This choice cannot be changed later.

As do I!

Oios |

Sick kid has me thrown for a loop. Will probably be able to post again Wednesday.

Istiel |

Metal. It Comes From Hell.
Front-liner override of the master plan, let's smash this thing Drazan.

Oios |

Sorry guys, old man putting his foot down. He wasn't too happy with the underwater adventure either, he just couldn't shout much underwater!

Istiel |

You are soooo lucky Istiel isn't chaotic. I don't know if Drazan cares enough to just attack (unless he's tired of being bossed around by Oios).
I think we need some esoteric words from Imix to solve this dispute.

Drazan of Peklenc |

Have to play the follower card a bit longer. Drazan may be growing on the flight as a capable warrior and but he is still an outsider to the people. Bucking Oios now doesn't serve much purpose, especially since Drazan is confident he is going to have to fight the thing anyway.

Oios |

Apologies, yesterday was a heck of a snow day.

Imix |

We've had some 40c days that have been killing my ability to post. Pity we can't email weather to each other!

GM Belicose Poultry |

^ I love it when it gets that hot. I think my friends in the midwest would trade 40c for -40f after last week.
Sorry for the delay folks, I came down with something and have had to work and get prepped to move on top of that. I got offered the job in San Diego County so things are hectic. Being sick hasn't helped.
I'll get us moving tomorrow at work, 'cause what are they going to do, fire me?
