Shallya of the Green |

Shallya calls upon the powers of life as she touches the dwarf; the life energies flow through him, his wounds closing, the blistering from the flames abating...
Cure Light Wounds: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The woman slashes through the creature, and its flame flickers out. Parts of the house begin to fall, threatening to bring the entire structure on her head.
Shallya heals the dwarf back to consciousness.
The mother picks her child up and hugs him tightly. The man bends over to the dwarf as he wakes. Thank you!, he says. He looks up at the others. Thank you, all. You've saved my boy. I cannot thank you enough! Who...who are you to so such a thing as this? You almost died in there...

Nevuda |

Nevuda exits the burning building as she slowly sheathes her wakizashi. "My name is Nevuda, slayer of evil." She surreptitiously tugs on her hood to make sure her face was not revealed during the commotion. Looking at the boy she asks, "I trust you are well now?"

Jarkralzak |

Jarkralzak coughs and hack, trying to get the smoke out of his lungs. His beard is slightly singed, and healing burn marks can be seen on his bare arms and face.
"I am Jarkralzak, Paladin of Lore, and if was not for my friends here, and this stranger, I too would have been cooked in that fire. Many thanks Shallya, Angus and Toriel. Perhaps it was foolish to run into a burning building, but it had to be done."
He staggers up to his feet and takes a few wobbly steps.
"Maybe I should sit for a spell. Welcome and many thanks ...Nevuda was it??

![]() |

The man smiles. Well, I wish we could invite you into our home, but there's not much hope of that now. I've never seen creatures like that before in my life.
He pauses for a moment as he helps the dwarf up. Oh, pardon me. I'm Jared. My wife is Ala. And the boy you all saved, that's my son, Benton.
The wife looks up at the group and her husband. Well, we will probably need to stay in the barn tonight. Tomorrow, well have to go to my...
Don't say it, dear. Don't even think about it.
Her jaw hangs open for a moment before she says with resolution ...mother's. Yes, I said it... we're going to have to move in with Mother until you can find a way to rebuild our house. Or something. She smiles weakly. At least our son is alive.
He rubs his eyes before smiling again at the party. You are welcome to spend the night with us in the barn. It's a bit smelly, but it's warm. We have some food stored out back that we'd be happy to share with you.

Nevuda |

Nevuda turns to Jokralzak and nods her head calmly. "Aye, Nevuda is my birth given name."
At the mention of food, Nevuda's stomach growls perceptively, and she lightly clutches at it with her one good hand. "I... am not a very good guest to be invited." Nevuda almost seems forlorn in her strangeness with the situation. "Is it customary for groups of strangers to gather when they consume their nourishment?"

Angus McCormick |

Phew that was a close one there, well i am glad everyone is alive.
he pause looking at the man don't worry we have brought food with us, so while it would be nice for all to share food we won't be imposing too much.

Nevuda |

Nevuda bows quickly after Jarkralzak does so, clearly mimicking his actions. "I believe friendship is good." She states with a smile as if she had said something clever. "I am not from around here. I have not been in this country any longer than at least... eighteen days. Forgive my rude behavior."

Shallya of the Green |

It is great to meet you, Nevuda, your help in this situation was greatly appreciated as she moves in and hugs Nevuda...
Shallya feels the bonds of community strong with the saved family and the newcomer, the bonds weaving throughout, connecting all within the party
Shallya smiles and giggles, slapping the paladin on the back; It is indeed an honor to accept your invitation! I will help you cook, Ala. I have the best set of herbs for camp fire cooking ever!

![]() |

You spend the evening together, giving you further opportunity to get to know each other, as the young family again express their thanks.
Ala asks, You just arrived? Do you come from the elven lands? Or perhaps the barbaric lands to the south? You don't look like a resident of the dwarven kingdom...

Nevuda |

Nevuda awkwardly pokes at her meal with the utensils used for eating, unfamiliar with their function but trying nonetheless. She lightly shakes her head at the woman's question. "No... I come from a land where kings believe themselves gods, and lords worship their wickedness." She is pointedly vague and reluctant to give out more information.

Angus McCormick |

Angus will try to ask more precise question to Nevuda about that land, the custom and pretty much anything he can. If she doesn't want to anwer will be not pry about it.
After all most people have their own secrets...
Angus will also ask the familly how the fire was started.

Jarkralzak |

Jarkralzak will ask the family about what to expect further up the road; any towns of villages, etc. He also want to leave them a little money to help them rebuild their home and keep them fed.
I have 55gp on my character sheet, so I will leave them 10gp to help. Its not much, but a start and good gesture

Nevuda |

If you're going to talk to my character, especially with "precise" questions. At least make the effort to actually type the words of your own character. I can't interact with a generalization.
Nevuda generally ignores Angus and slowly begins to shy away from the majority of people as they begin casual banter. She sits nearby Toriel, facing in a direction that is away from her, but speaks across her shoulder. "You seem concerned."

![]() |

The young married couple listens to the stranger who saved their son's life, and after hearing her answer, neither prods any further. Toriel looks through the book, carefully, but cannot make heads or tales out of the strange, arcane writings. Even the characters themselves seem twisted and moving.
The husband laughs at Angus' question. Isn't that part obvious? Those creatures, made out of fire itself, burned our house to the ground. I think the fact that was made completely out of dry wood didn't help. We'll have to go with a stone structure next time.
The husband answers the dwarf's question. Going to silverfall? You got a pretty boring and long trip. It's at least a week or two to the next town, and it's just a farming village. Then another week or so will place you at the next town, depending on how fast you march. A day after that, you should reach Ushed, which puts you a day or two out of Silverfall. It's a path traveled often by caravans, so its normally safe.
Ala gasps at the Dwarf's gesture. [b]But...you've already done so much for us! We couldn't possibly![/b ]

Toriel Ondovir |

"Those creatures were from another plane through portals possibly opened up from spells out of this book or possibly another scroll I have, I am hoping further study will give me some insight into exactly what it is while we travel to the woman who seems to know a fair bit about it as well." Toriel will frown, "These will need continued study... I wish I has access to my academy's library."

Nevuda |

Nevuda purses her lips in quiet contemplation. "Invaders from another plane?" She asks morosely. With subtle implications she adds, "No good can come of that..." Her one good hand lightly strokes against the sheath of her wakizashi while she stares at the ground.
"May I come with you?"

Jarkralzak |

Jarkralzak waves off the families rejection of his gift.
"I insist! Lore requires that I help those in need and keep the laws and order within the kingdom, and this will help. It is a gift I gladly give."
Jarkralzak looks the newcomer over, staring at her directly.
"The fire did not harm you, and you seem not to be interested in showing yourself to us. How did you end up in that building in the first place? I assume it was to help these poor people, but if you have such a good heart, why do you shun contact with others, but still wish to join us? You are puzzling, and I do like puzzles! As a newcomer to this land, I greet you for the dwarven community that cast me out, and invite you to join us, that is if it is agreed with you others?"

Toriel Ondovir |

"I will spend a bit of time keeping watch before I rest is there someone else who can as well? I don't wish to be caught off guard if there are any more fire elementals in the area." Toriel will state as she closes the book and puts it away.

Shallya of the Green |

i will stand watch with you, Toriel. I am not a bit tired, I am too excited for sleep! What a grand adventure!
Shallya smiles as she sits near the doors, softly whistling a spirited tune...
