At airport now...so limited access...but I can type something up here... Tomorrow morning posting may be late, but should be regular posting times the rest of this week.
Tariel hits the beast, but it barely looks like a scratch. She has his attention.
Enemy turn
1d20 ⇒ 121d6 ⇒ 6 (his bonus is equal to or higher than three...sooo...)
The beast spins around, roaring. The elf attempts to block the attack, but her movement is a split second too late. The beast carves into her side and grins as blood splatters on the ground.
The priestess stretches and yawns a bit.
Elf is down 6 hps to 2/8 total, IIRC
Jarkralzak
Seeing the elf taking swipes at the creature, and the orc striking it barehanded, Zarkralzak unhooks his hammer and strikes out as well.
Attack-Melee: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Shallya of the Green
Shallya limps behind Toriel, calling upon the Spirits of Life; the spirits answer her call as the pure energies of life pour through the conduit that is now Shallya into Toriel, causing the elf's wounds to close...
5-Foot Step and casting Cure Light Wounds on Toriel...
Cure Light Wounds: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

I'm back...posting should be more regular rest of today and tomorrow, though I can't make too many promises as I'm not on my regular work schedule.

Jark attacks the creature, but his weapon doesn't pierce the creatures skin. Toriel is healed as shangruon misses.
Enemy Turn

Roaring in anger, the creature skin begins to glow. You feel the temperature around him rising....

Shallya of the Green
We will fall here and my homeland will be destroyed! All of those innocents killed, nature devastated unless we can find something, someway to overcome. Angus has it! I know what I must do!
You want FIRE, you want PASSION! I call upon the power of all my ancestors, the power of my village, all the surrounding villages and those villages of all my companions. Every good deed ever done by those within! Every good deed, every caress of a mother to her child, every coin given freely to a beggar, every innocent animal healed from malicious intent, every thought of good, act of charity, flow through me now and fill this warrior's weapon with the power to smite this evil!
Cast Align Weapon on Jark's warhammer...
Everyone, aid Jark to slay this creature!
Toriel Ondovir
Toriel having spent this whole time moving to flank is going to use this advantage and attack the creature from her position.

The sword glows as the dwarf cleaves through it, like a hot knife through butter. At the same time, Toriel finds a softer sport in its tough hide.
The creature cries out, and falls flat on its face.
High Priestess Krakela jumps out of her seat. She steps down from her throne, yelling at her fiery followers.
You see? THAT is what I'm talking about!! Passion! It was right there! Like a gas explosion, it burned quickly, but it burned brightly! You all have simply GOT to learn from what you saw there! They struggled and got no where because they lacked PASSION! But when they dug deep, and pulled from what mattered most to them, they made things HAPPEN.
She walks into the circle clapper her hands. Bravo, bravo!!
Shangruon
Shangruon glances at Toriel momentarily as she passes by. Spreading his legs as his center of balance shifts closer to the ground, he rears back as the monster lets out a viscious roar. With a glint of determination in his eyes, Shanruon quickly springs forward like an uncoiling snake and jabs his spear towards the beast's side.
Spear Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Toriel Ondovir
Toriel will turn to face the priestess, her sword remaining in hand. "Are you satisfied? You will stop holding the portal open now?"
She asks with slight annoyance. I won't reduce myself to being some side show entertainment.
Jarkralzak
Zarlralzak, breathing heavy, nods in gratitude to Shallya.
"My thanks to you. We are all in your debt."
He nods his thanks to the others as well, showing his gratitude to each for their assistance in the battle, then he turns his cold, stern face back towards the flaming woman.
"This is not how you test the passion of people. You LEARN of it from them. By seeing how they approach each and every day. You see how they handle the biggest struggle, LIFE. You do not force them to fight for your amusement. You have much to learn, and I fear you are not smart enough to understand that."

She laughs. Now, now. Let us now sour this wondrous moment with childish insults. You have pleased me by showing your passion. By opening your emotions, I saw your true passions, and I believe that they do not lie with the conquering of my domain. That is good, indeed, as I am rather fond of you.
I am gracious, and now that you have proven yourselves to me, I shall do as you have asked. I will return your friend to you, and release the magic I use to hold the portal open.
And, because I shows gratitude to those who please me, I shall not leave you empty handed!
She walks up to the halfling. Your devotion to good and charity is not one that I share, but passion of any type is to be admired. I found this during my trip to one of the higher planes of existence. While I could use it myself, I feel it better suits one of your passion. Please, accept this gift.
She hands Shallya a Holy Staff.
She walks up to Shangruon. You keep yourself so composed. So balanced. It hides your passion. Holds it back. But, there, at the end, you let me see it. Just a little. Practice it. Harness it. Use this properly at the right times, and it will help. Once you have learned all you can from it, I hope you will visit again.
She hands Shangruon a Wand of Rage (20 Charges). The wand has writing on it that he understands. It appears that only the wand is attunded to him. Only he can use it properly, and it can only affect him.
To Toriel, she says, You have spunk! You remind me of when I was younger. And when others' lives were on the line, you let your passion show, and moved to attack to save them. But, but careful! Don't let your passion get you into trouble! In case you do, this may help. She hands the elf a scroll of Armor Enhancement: Determination. (This scroll allows you to add the "Determination" property to one piece of +1 or better armor. Determination property allows the armor to automatically cast Breath of Life on you once per day when you go below 0 hit points. )
To Angus she says, You are a mystery to me. You seem to lack passion. You are like my friends here. Find your passion. And, when you do, return to me.
Finally, she walks up to the dwarf. You, my friend, are my favorite. You could teach my warriors much. You have the deepest passion of all here. A warrior with such passion should wield a weapon that reflects that passion.
She waves her hand and a dark obsidian warhammer appears in her hand. This is the best that I can do on short notice, but I know you will find it more befitting of your passion than the mundane equipment you now wield.
Jarkralzak receives a +1 Warhammer. In the side is an inscription that allows him, once per day, to cover the weapon in flames. Once activated, it serves as a +1 Flaming Burst weapon for 3 rounds.
Should our paths cross again, and you have time, please consider another visit. I should very much like to see how your passions have increased and found focus. Also, if you do find out more about these portals, please let me know. I will not hesitate to defend my domain from intruders with a fury and passion unprecedented in both planes! She snaps her fingers, and Tuval is brought to you by her servants. She retreats to her throne.
Toriel Ondovir
Toriel will raise an eyebrow slightly, putting the scroll away in her pouch as she moves to take a quick moment to survey Tuvar's condition when he comes out.
Heal Check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
"Best not to linger if the priestess doesn't know how much longer her magic will sustain Tuvar then... or changes her mind."
Jarkralzak
Zarkralzak nods once towards the elf, and hesitantly takes the offered weapon.
"Now, about our friend who was dragged here...."
As soon as we are all together, Jarkralzak will let everyone go ahead of him, bring up the rear of the group, with many backwards glances.
Shangruon
Shangruon's attention is entirely focus on the wand. Rejecting this gift would certainly bring only more tension, but the object's purpose is quite insulting and vulgar. He tucks it away on his person silently and strokes his thick facial hair.

You trek back through the portal, with no further incident, carrying the unconscious man with you. As you step through, you see the woman, now unhooded, holding the portal open through arcane gestures and deep concentration. As you come through, she lets her arms down, and within moments, the portal closes.
Now that you can see the one who has been following you, it dawns on some of you why she was cloaking herself. Standing at 5'7", her ears and deep red hair definitely show off an elven heritage though her eyes look human. Welcome back. We were never properly introduced, I'm afraid. I'm Yaletala Izuma.
It pleases me to see that all of you made it back alive, and you were able to retrieve Tuval. More importantly, you have managed to close the portal, and in doing so, saved this land from certain destruction.
She looks at your faces, and quickly says, I can see you have a lot of questions. Look, there's much going on that you don't understand...that I don't even understand. It is best that you don't know any more than you have to. To do otherwise would be dangerous. Still..., she pauses for a minute. And I could use assistance from people as brave and skilled as you. You all have worked together to handle a very dangerous situation in a most heroic and unusual manner.
I must take my leave, to study what I have learned here before the trail turns cold. However, if you want to learn more of this danger that threatens Forzega and wish to help do more to stop it, come visit my abode at Silverfall...between the Wicket and the Fallen Star. I know that's a bit of a trip from here, but it will give you time to get to know each other and grow together, which will be needed if you truly want to help stop this evil. Oh, and you'll find the storm outside has stopped.
With that she casts a spell and disappears.
Shallya of the Green
Shallya accepts the staff from the priestess, a look of shock on her face.
I...thank you. Such a gift is...surprising. You are truly one whose energies seem...at odds and balanced. This staff will aid greatly, I thank you. I too hope to visit again and perhaps we both can aid our peoples to foster greater understanding of one another, an understanding that could aid both sides and broker sometype of... friendship.

BTW...I ninja'd Shallya, so it's understandable why her post is out of order...but if you did miss a post, and retro'd back a response to something that happened 'earlier', that is fine. In fact, I encourage it as it helps me to know more about your character, like it does here....just as long as it's not a regular occurrence.
Toriel Ondovir
Toriel will seem slightly annoyed as Yaletala disappears, glancing down at Tuvar. "I guess it was too much to hope they had been travelling together... what shall we do about him? I mean... I am rather not a fan of babysitting a grown adult after all."
Jarkralzak
"As you say, he is a grown adult. I am sure he can continue back to the city on his own. It seems that we have some distance to travel."
He turns to the rest of the group and starts to speak.
"I am Jarkralzak, stonelord to the great god Lore. I come from the Dwarven fortress-city of Kraz Kaizan. I was ejected from the Dwarven lands for my religious beliefs, but swear to you that I will stand by you all as a boon companion for the duration of this journey, and beyond if necessary."
Shangruon
Shangruon looks around at the group for a moment before saying. "I am Shangruon. I care only about balance."
He casually points a finger at Toriel and then Angus while he says,
"You seem shifty, and you, undisciplined. I do not trust you two." Shagruon shows no signs of malice or hate despite the accusatory words. He simply resumes his silence and waits for others to speak.
Angus McCormick
Hail and well meet, as i said i am Angus and the panther is Jane and i am just a traveler, bu now i have really no idea what to think about all this he makes a hand gesture at the tower and the place where the portal was
Toriel Ondovir
"He needs healing." Toriel will say flatly before directing her gaze to Shangruon. "Really? I have done nothing but assist despite my discontent with the situation and I am shifty and untrustworthy? I'll remember that... coming from a half-orc no less." Turning her attention to Jarkralzak, "I thought the dwarves were suppose to be religious? I am not much for religion having spent more of my time in a mage academy with my mother but that was something thought your people held to."
Angus McCormick
Kn Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 well i guess we all have our flaws then turning toward the dwarf You did mention a god's name i don't think i have heard before. but then again i don't know much about dwarves. Who is He?
Jarkralzak
"Lore is one of the Elder Gods. Worshipped centuries ago, he embodies all that is good and lawful in the world. The current religious current in my old home did not extend to the Old Ones, and our cult was outlawed. I decided exile was preferable to renouncing my dedication to Lore, so I left. I have wandered the human lands, looking for signs of Lore's hand in the events of the short-lived, but have yet to find any. SO I travel and act as an example of Lore's wisdom and goodness, even though I am a flawed tool. He is not just a dwarven deity, but a power for all good and law in the world; dwarf, elf, human or whoever...Lore accepts all who accept him."
Toriel Ondovir
"The priestess said this portal hadn't been the first, others could end up with similar results or worse... I'd rather like some answers and the trip could give me time to review the evidence I retrieved here while we are at it... does anyone disagree?"

Tuvar wakes slowly, holding his head. Where did them rascals go...och...what happened?
He looks up at you all, and after you give him a run down, he replies, Well...ummm...Thanks! I don't ever recall anyone going so far to save me like that before. Or to save the city from a big blow up. Or whatever you said. But, um, don't let it be said, I'm not appreciative.
He gets up slowly, and reaches in his bag. This has gotten me out of a few scraps in the past...but to be honest, I'm not fully sure how to work the bloody thing. Perhaps you could put it to better use. Consider it a thank you gift for putting your asses on the line to save mine.
He hands Toriel a wand. The wand has a note on it. Wand of sleeping time. 16 15 14
Portal, you say? I've heard that the mages' guild has had their hands full with some strange beasts showing up in various areas of the Elven domains and the Land of Man. Maybe its tied in with these things. Who knows?
Did she say the storm died down? I'm going to check. I've had enough of this place!
Toriel Ondovir
"She didn't really say though I suppose we could take a quick peek to see if it has... thank you for the wand." Toriel will glance over the note, before putting the wand away with the rest of the items she has collected so far to further inspect later.
Shangruon
Shangruon walks past Toriel, pausing to look at her before dropping the wand into her hand with a snort. "If there truly is something threatening the balance of this world, it is probably for the best that I face it alone."
