Yes, it was a trick question since detect magic isn't on the alchemist spell list, so they can't identify magic items.

You just squeak by and identify the ring as a magic item which casts 6th level lightning bolts a limited number of times (charged item).

I hate elementals :) and huge ones at that. No precision damage and -4 to intimidate and parry, just about the worst thing for my type of fighter to face. Not good for Trib either. Good thing Klor has that flaming axe :)

Klor already took the ring of protection (which would have been my call since he's the tank).

And no, you cannot aid on identification rolls without the ability to see the magical auras (ie. cast Detect Magic, it would be like a blind man helping an art critic).

trib will take 20 searching the room for traps and secret doors, so 34 and 33.


Given the level of caution, I'll assume most people are not inside the room while Tribim searches.

On the second round he is in there a bolt of white energy shoots from the floor to the ceiling.
1d20 ⇒ 5 it misses Tribim, but is on the same side of the room.

The room has 16 5' squares in it. Taking 20 searching for traps in the room means you will be taking 2 minutes per square. That amounts to 32 minutes in the room.

You sure about that?

Ok, team... I was planning on somebody else having Haste... and seems that is not the case, right?
So... Do I change Stinking Cloud(DC 21) for Haste? It is a big change...
Or... Question for drbuzzard... can I buy a wand of Haste with less than 50 charges?


Considering how many melee people you have, I think haste is likely a better bet than stinking cloud.

Wands can only be bought full.

That is exactly what I feared, but the build is done to maximize the Stinking Cloud DC...

The full charge wand is quite over my budget.
So... can I change "Heroism" (Domain given spell) for Haste? Both go well with her Martyred boon-giving bloodline?

Actually I will give the swashbuckler a good will save in addition to reflex. I rather don't think any martial class should be stuck with one good save and the worst of the lot, which is reflex.

Yeah, it was the one serious drawback that everyone harped on during the playtest and yet they decided to not address it.


Well they did put in that charisma to save bonus, but honestly it is pretty crappy.

I'm curious why you are in the banded mail. You don't have heavy armor training. Without it, there's a pretty big penalty.

I see that mistake a lot, the Mithral makes it one category lighter for most purposes, but not for proficiency. You still need the proper armor proficiency for the original armor type. Go with Mithral Breastplate, the money you save can add one more enhancement bonus to the armor so you don't lose any AC and now your movement isn't reduced and you have a higher DEX bonus allowed to AC.

You're in Taldor, not Tien Xi. The stats are the same for a breastplate as that and you save 50 GP.

(Mountain Pattern Armor is an eastern armor).

Agile weapons are unusually well balanced and responsive. A wielder with the Weapon Finesse feat can choose to apply her Dexterity modifier to damage rolls with the weapon in place of her Strength modifier. This modifier to damage is not increased for two-handed weapons, but is still reduced for off-hand weapons.

If the character also has the feat ‘double slice’, since ‘agile’ weapons are “still reduced for off-handed weapons” does double slice allow you to also add your full dex. Bonus to damage rolls made with your off-hand weapon?

I will have the character ready tonight or early tomorrow morning.


Yes, you can do drawbacks for extra traits (not feats).

And you can change to grenadier.

Im a little hazy on crafting alchemy things such as alchy fire.. As im prob gonna be using these can yall help me out creation times?

With swift alchy i can craft in half time.. By increasing dc by 10 he can craft faster as well.. With all this in consideration, how long to make 1 alchemist fire?

This will be RH's slayer. Unless double slice works with Agile weapons dex. bonus, I will play him basically as I rolled him up, except his ranger style will be Power Attack, I'm not sure what his last feat is. I'll work on it tonight with his gear and be ready to go in the morning.

OK, I assume you folks read the intro. One important thing to note, is don't get cocky. The encounters are not necessarily CR appropriate at all times. Sometimes running is the only survivable option. Keep that in mind.

Your only missing a bit of damage in off hand.. You could pick up the dex based power attack and not have to dump stats to get a 13 str too btw.. From reading the intro and playing old school like Keep on the Borderlands it will be more impt to be well rounded that a glass cannon.. Last thing we need is a super macstabby getting dominated because he has a +0 will..

Dex 17+2 race+1 level+2 belt =22 still nice damage..
Con 14
Int 10
Wis 12
Cha 10

Yeah, that's what I thought, not sure if I'm going to work two-weapon fighting in or not.

I feel like I am behind, Tribim's page is done except for purchasing incidentals and putting in his back story. I'm thinking "I was born a poor orc child". I didn't get it done last night at work, I was busier than I expected. I will finish buying incidentals once I read the intro. and then add a brief but touching past history based out of the Warrens in Kaer Maga, yeah that's all I have so far.

Ok, silliness aside, please take a quick look over him, any glaring errors PM me. I decided not to go two-weapon yet, I can always add that at 8th level when I might be able to afford a +1 agile kukri.
