This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

The younger children group eventually do round the corner to the entry hall, and find Tryko'Sam there with a few others. "Ahh... Ohaiyou gozaimasu." she says to the people talking to her senpai.

Hew sees the group and nods his head. "Hi. What's going on?" Gesturing with the staff toward the smoke billowing from town. "Looks like a fire was put out."

"Town's under attack by some ..snake woman with six or more arms, fighting some silver fire glowing guy bleeding like a sieve. Not quite sure how things are going to pan out, but this lady Professor here said a team of people are on it-- which would explain the dragon, the water kung fu guy, Dom was his name? and what not, but ..." Obviously, Tryko'Sam seemed a bit concerned.

At this point, there was only the one remaining smoke, white in color, billowing upward, Given the two or so mile distance, it wasn't that accurate to see what was going on.

Tryko'Sam looked back at the arrival of others and says, "Got your food and such?"

He flashed a smile and waited. "Guess we just need that one girl with the squirrels now."

Edited. Thanks, Edward.

I'm so glad to make a positive impression on the townsfolk..." says the sieve

Meanwhile, over in the charred remains of the alchemist shop, Dennis is handling the remains of the fire quite nicely. Fei had taken care of most of it, but as they were chemically altered flames, every so often a small section would reignite.

Once he is finally sure the fires are all out once and for all, the minotaur surveys the damage. It was close to total, sadly. He looks around for anything he knew would be worth saving, but finds very little. Just as he's about to give up however, he spots something lying under a pile of ash. Picking it and dusting it off reveals it to be a crude, yet mostly intact video camera. Certainly not up to Avalon's standards, but it might show the arsonist.

"Tyrrin, you said they don't pair up like this?"

"Yes, that is correct... I fear that it may mean we are being worked against. We ought to keep mov--." With an uncharactaristic lack of grace, Tyrrin missteps on the snow, her foot sliding on a particularily slippery piece of the ground, falling face first, her midnight-coloured hair clashing heavily with the white powder. She quickly scrambles to her feet, brushing the snow away. "Damn this snow!" she curses.

Deftly, there are shuriken in her hands, and she tenses up, crouching slightly, leaning forward. She appears to be ready for battle almost instantly. "I am not afraid." "Well, I think I know where we'll find the green stone. Somewhere on or in this mountain, we'll find the guardian remorhaz. It's just like the dweomercats in the jungle, working in tandem, in ways they never would normally."

"This did tell us what part of your dream was though, and what the survivor was talking about when he mentioned a creature of ice, born of fire."

Seeing a feisty young girl about to run out there and fight, seems to bring Tryko'Sam's attention fully back to the group and Midori.

"Hey there ...killer. No. Sorry-- like I said, apparently a 'team' is there, and they'll handle it? If things get too bad after them, we'll be back up, if we hear about it, or something. Okay? I don't mean to sound rude here, but-- I'm not letting an adorable young ...horn headed, girl, ninja or not, go into that fight. I think it's for some serious heavy hitters. Especially from what I could see. Sorry."

He smiles, attempting to be charming about it. Usually he is. He is rather charming.

Tyrrin finishes brushing herself off from her fall, shaking her starry cloak out. Strangely, the snow doesn't seem cold... though she had cast the spell to Endure the Elements. The slipperiness was frustrating though, on the incline. "Yes, and a more powerful version of these may prove difficult. Oneiro, do you have some way to shield your paper against fire?"

Tyrrin casts Overland Flight on herself, and will keep pace with the party easily, hovering a few feet above the ground, not keen on repeating her embarrassing fall.

She straightens slightly, the shuriken seeming to disappear back into the pouch with dexterous fingers. She knew her way around the weapons, that much was clear. "It's not like it would be my first battle or something." Midori mumbles, not attempting to counter Tryko'Sam's accusation of killer. She doesn't seem overly annoyed, perhaps just a little petulant or impetuous in a situation like this.

She shakes her head, matte-black hair failing to catch any glimmers or such as she does. The shoulder-length hair is pulled into a functional ponytail - ideal for someone who wants to keep the hair out of her face while fighting. "Okay senpai, I'll listen to you." she says after a moment.

"I can cast a spell over it, but it would be more practical to just work on in direct attacks, like what Dave was doing. I've got similar spells readied, but I'm better at melee combat."

Female Elf Gestalt Sorcerer (Starsoul) 16/Oracle (Heavens) 16

"Whatever you see fit. Are you sure you do not want the rest of that wound seen to? My magic may not be limitless, but it is not quite so scarce, yet." Tyrrin offers, looking down at Oneiro's wounded leg.

Will Cast a Light/Moderate Cure spell if required - no bonuses, either 1d8+5 or 2d8+10.

He looks at his leg for a bit, studying his wound.

"I may regret it, but I think I'll be okay for now."

Vai on the other hand, isn't having as good a time as Fei is with his demon, and her scream as her life-force is sucked away echoes a similar one several months before on the Plane of Storms, where Khoda had Vai in his grasp.

The blue dragon instantly blinks away a little from the battle, as if she were adjusting her position for... then she suddenly starts to glow brilliantly, and a incredible burst of Light erupts from the necklace at her throat, enveloping both Vrolikai but missing Fei, just barely.

Spectrum Spray time!
Vai's attacker: 1d8 ⇒ 6, Xray
Fei's target: 1d8 ⇒ 1, Radio
All saves are DC 25

X-ray:

X-ray - A blast of intense x-ray radiation causes the target to grow immediately sickened. The target takes 20 acid damage and must make a fortitude save or be nauseated for an hour, and unless they receive immediate treatment they will thereafter die. A successful save reduces the nauseation to 1 round and negates the death effect.

Radio:

Radio - Intense Radio waves heat up the target's body from the inside, causing blisters and burns to erupt all over the target's body. Takes 50 fire damage and must make a fortitude save or become dazed for 1d4 rounds and sickened for 1d4 minutes.
Dazed 1d4 ⇒ 3
Sickened 1d4 ⇒ 1

Please also note that any electronic gear in the blast radius is destroyed, and any Light-sensitive equipment trained on this location may be destroyed.

Phaezeriel reappears in an identical shimmer of silver light in exactly the same orientation and position as he was when he disappeared. It takes a moment to shake off the effects of the time hop.

Fei is about to go to Vai when Phaezeriel suddenly reappears. He quickly but gently extracts the quasit from the...mess that was the demon a few seconds ago.

"Are you alright? It seems we have a welcoming party on the way...that we do not want to meet," the young monk says to his friend, as he quickly scans the surrounding area and notes that Ehos has followed them here as well.

"We need to get back through the portal and seal it!" he calls out to the others as he readies himself to deal with the last nearby demon and notes the approaching horde with some concern...

"Lang....I....I can't read. I can't read in common let alone whatever language this is. Can you read it out loud to me?"

Lang whispers to her I know, but maybe there is a symbol that you may have seen somewhere, or looks like something familiar. I know you can help me ignace, I believe in you. Lang smiles to her trying to give her a confidence boost.

Ignace scowls, frustrated. She knew from experience that this usually preceded an exasperated lecture on how she wasn't really trying. It's not like she wanted all the squiggly lines to keep moving.

"It looks like little wiggly worms," she says sullenly. "Just like all writing."

She walked around examining it again. "Okay, it looks like wiggly worms on fire," she corrected her previous statement.
