Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"Sounds pretty restful too. Fire heals and replenishes my energy. There's this huge oven in the kitchens, and sometimes when I'm having a bad day I sneak in and curl up in there for a while until I feel better."

He nods.

"Lathander the Morninglord is my world's god of the dawn, creativity, spring, renewal, birth, athletics, self-perfection, vitality and youth," he intones, counting off on his fingers with each domain uttered.

"My Order - The Order of the Sun Soul - is a monastic calling that embraces these tenets, with an inward focus on self-perfection through athletics and developing creative potential."

He stops for a moment, shaking his head.

"I apologize - that sounded a bit like proselytizing, and that is not the Order's way," he says with a slight smile.

"It sounds like you worry so much about breaking your orders rules that you forget to live." Asch says as he and Amada walk out of the spell catching the last part of the conversation. "Not that there is anything wrong with following your beliefs of course."

She laughed. "No worries. All proselytizing is lost on me," she said, her hand going to the hourglass/infinity symbol gold necklace she always wore. "Dedicated servant of Kronos, god of time. Don't worry if you've never heard of him. Most people haven't. He doesn't much care about worshippers. Only has a few clerics and we're more like time constables than normal clerics anyways."

She stuck out her tongue. And then splashed water at Asch. Which somehow quickly devolved into a water fight.

Looks like I'll be bringing folks home from the field trip early. Will likely handwave the rest of the trip to rework some stuff.

Yeah - pity nobody else has been able to post. The Fates did not look favorably on us in this venture.... (;_;)

Apparently not. :(

Anyhow, we're taking a roll call in the discussion thread, guys, to figure out who's still here and involved. Please let us know. Thanks.

As they are enjoying the hot springs, the mountain begins to shake. Rocks start skittering down the mountainside as the island is experiencing the beginnings of an earthquake. All of the students left on the island are suddenly transported back to Avalon as all of their amulets activate as a result of the seismic activity. A large crowd of confused students mills around the auditorium.

Mr. Sinh staggers down the hall, a cold compress on his forehead. The squeaking of Lil' Sihn setting his nerves jangling. His fever broke last night and today, Sinh makes a valiant effort to return to his duties - embarrassed at missing a day (or was it two? or three?) of work. Sinh pockets the compress and wipes his head with his red bandana.

Must be all the kids around here - walking germ factories.

While Sinh was innoculated and often immune to many typical diseases and maladies, in a place like Agartha there was always something that could bring you low. With every muscle in his body aching, Sinh realized he had been assaulted by one of the more debilitating of rare ailments - Disco Fever.

It is a rare but highly contagious disorder, he read this morning in Fulcrum's Unusual Diseases, characterized by hallucinations, a love of garish colors, a fascination with hideous music, and the unceasing desire to perform repetitive syncopated body motions, e.g. dancing.

From how every muscles in his legs protested, Sinh could only imagine how much syncopated body moving he did over the last day or so. Ach! That Disco Fever it made me boogie til I just couldn't do it any more!"

Sinh didn't even realise he was sick until he woke up in flared purple pants, a white belt, a paisley shirt with a collar the size of an airplane wing, and the most damning sign - platform shoes.

Despite how poor he felt, Sinh knew he was lucky that there wasn't a full spread epidemic of Disco Fever. Horrible stories persisted of how Disco Fever had once struck the surface world and the pandemic that followed lasted an entire decade!

Sinh takes a deep breath, rallies himself, and gets back to work...

Awesome.:D And with that Mr Sinh reclaims his place as the comic awesomeness of this thread. :)

Once he'd seen Nasima to the infirmary and cleaned off the vomit (apparently she hadn't been faking being sick) he headed off in search of Ephebe. He found her talking to Fei. He asked where Asch and Amada were, and she shrugged and said she thought they'd gone to dry off after the water fight. Well, at least she hadn't gone wandering off by herself.

"Hey, make sure you find Krays or somebody to stay with her if you've got to go do something, 'kay?" he said to Fei. "She shouldn't be alone. Too much of a target. I'm gonna go find Taron. There's some things I need to talk to him about."

Turning an ear to the school, Taron almost sighs.

"Looks like everyone's back and the relative peace is over. Ruji, don't steal any food from them today, okay? Some of them are going to really hungry."

*purrs lightly and stays curled up on Taron's stomach, ignores him*

Heads straight for the gardens where he finds Taron and Fieri sitting on the grass.

"Taron, we need to talk. About Ephebe. You know about the dreams. Well, they're getting worse. As in happening when she looks like she's awake kind of worse."

Taron sits up, sliding Ruji over to Feiri's lap with such speed and grace the winged cat doesn't even notice he's been moved.

"Damn. Do we need to force her to talk to someone or are we it?"

"She still shuts down and looks all panicked every time I say something about talking to somebody. If you've got any ideas for how to get her to talk, let me know, cause I don't think you can force Pheebs to do much of anything."

"We'll see about that."

Ephebe stepped out of a small tear in the air.

"What? What's going on? What's the emergency?" She looked around, confused, and then frowned.

"No, Jimmy you don't get to yell at me for coming alone. I stepped between seconds. No one is going to attack me in the Clock. I wasn't alone where I left and I'm not alone here. And you," she turned towards Taron, "said it was an emergency. But I'm not seeing anything particularly urgent going on here. I want an explanation."

"You are the emergency. We've figured out what's making my dreams become reality, and now it's time for us to figure what why your dreams are. You will talk to someone about this." Taron says firmly.

"NO!"

Her face set into a stubborn expression, but there was real fear in her eyes.
"You don't get to dictate that to me. I'm not ready to talk about it. I may never be ready to talk about it. And that's just the way it is."

"You don't understand! I can't talk about it! You all act like that means I won't talk about it, but it's not true! You think you know what happened? ::I'm sorry, Taron. I can't.::

He can catch a small wisp of a thought just at the edge of her conscious mind.
::They'd all hate me if they knew. I hate me.::
And then there's a wall, a mental block of impressive proportions. It's more than probable that whatever is behind it is locked away from Ephebe as much as from others, and she definitely put it here herself.

Gets to the garden, and sees a family moment...he quickly becomes ethereal and invisible, and just watches, not wanting to interrupt.

::You shouldn't care about what other people think. What you think is something you need to come to terms with.::

There's a moment where Taron doesn't do anything but hug Ephebe tighter. Then it's like he's there, in her mind, placing a hand on the mental wall.

::I had something like this once. Is what is behind it the reason you're so scared?::

::Yes. I can't face it. I'm sorry. I'm not that strong. Please. Let it be. I thought I could handle all of it. But I couldn't.::

::Alone. You are strong, but there is nothing saying you can't have some support, right? When he presses against the wall the landscape changes inside her mind. Everything becomes chaotic, all semblance of order and rationality disappearing replaced by a raging storm. She screams, wracked with pain.

Taron panics and does the one thing he can think of that will help his sister.

He wraps his mind around hers, creating a barriar between her and the wall.

::I'm sorry.. didn't mean to hurt you..::

If this means I'm taking the brunt of the 'storm', so be it.

Taron is buffeted by the mental storm as it rages out of control. It seems determined to tear him apart. And then it abruptly changes. Everything is still equally chaotic, but calmer, almost cheerful. And then it goes back to its normal appearance.

::Taron! Are you okay? I'm so sorry!:: She is still in pain, but she sets that aside in her worry for her brother. ::I got it under control as quickly as I could. Please be okay.::
