As Melody circles around in her dance she stops when she sees you.

"Ginni? I didn't bring you here." Now she can see the person Melody is dancing with is Kai, but slightly different. he seems less armed, and nicely dressed and no mask.

"Wait a sec, If I didn't bring you here then you found a way in. " at that instant Kai vanishes.

"Is something wrong?" she asks, completely unaware of everything going on outside her mind. but a look of worry on her brow

"Melody! Oh, thank goodness! I've been so worried. You're in the infirmary and you're unconscious. You were badly hurt, but you seem to be healing on your own and you're surrounded by this strange energy. The infirmary staff have no idea what it is, and you wouldn't wake up. I couldn't even connect to your mind. Well, obviously I did eventually or I wouldn't be standing here. But then when I first contacted your mind you weren't there. There was this strange girl carrying a heavy textbook...she said she was you. Which makes no sense. And she was going on about companions and regenerations and I don't understand any of that. She said you could explain it. She showed me how to get here. And she was worried. Melody, you have to wake up," she said, wringing her hands with worry. She wasn't entirely sure she could actually help and this place left her feeling both vulnerable and very worried about the damage she could do without all of her defenses.

Nurse Julie stops and backs away I'm sorry sir. I was only trying help she looks down at the floor and steps away. her voice even more timid than before if it even could be.

I will go check others, I'm sorry Sir She turns and leaves moving on to her next round.

seeing another younger child that apparently had fallen in the rain and hurt his knee. he was crying and his knee was scrapped pretty bad.

Nurse Julie stops to help him talking to the boy as she worked his crying stopped and before he knew it his knee was bandaged. there you go, all better. she pulls a lollipop from her apron pocket and gives it to the boy. now be careful next time. she says with a smile and moves on to other patients.

Mel listens to the barrage of questions. blinking a few times as ginni goes on.

Mel smiles there is an awful lot I have discovered. but really you were worried about me?

Mel sits. she looks like she is sitting on a chair but there is no chair present. take a seat Mel motions for Ginni to take a seat.

Oh, I guess I should show you, just think about a comfy chair and sit down the chair will be there as you need it.

where to start. I guess at the beginning. The blue energy, That is what's called Artron energy. it is an energy found in the Time-space vortex and has strong healing properties when it interacts with living matter. this energy gets picked up by time travelers when they journey in the time vortex. well apparently there is a lot of that energy integrated with my cells and I don't really know why.

Mel takes a moment to let that sink in before continuing.

now where are we. This is a special room I created in my mind as an escape. actually, I don't remember when or how I created it but it is here for emergencies, like when I suffer severe trauma. It separates my psyche from my body and apparently allows the Artron energy to heal me.

I call this place the "zero room" there is zero psychic interference here. this room can even defy the laws of physics if you want it to. but there is a flaw in this room. while in here you will have access to parts of your mind you probably never knew you had. it can help unlock latent mental abilities in whoever is in here, bu the down side is two things.

One, Its only in my mind, and two, when and if I leave here I will remember nothing of what happened in here. I don;t know how much of my memory will be left behind, I could come out and not know who you are. reversing my memories all the way back to my first day at the school, maybe even further. Or, I could remember everything, I really don't know for sure.

Now the last answer before I let you barrage me again, apparently the Artron energy in my cells will regenerate me a new body whenever the current body becomes unusable either by age, or injury, or whatever. that might mean I am immortal, I don't know for sure. but apparently. when the accident occurred, I died, well my body died, and the Artron energy began to regenerate a new body for me. But now for the weird part.

she pauses as though she is trying to not confuse Ginni.

before the new body started to regenerate, the energy created anew psyche for me first but suddenly before the process really got started, I was healed and now I am stuck in between the old body and the new one. That girl out there is me, well, will be me when this Mel dies.

I am kind of stuck in here while that Mel is out there, the only way out is for us to swap places. I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

why not have a drink of lemonade while you take this stuff in.

two glasses of lemonade appear floating in front of Mel and Ginni.

Damiani wrote:

With that, he and the others walked out, into the hallway, heading for SIM Room 6, as requested.

Maya appears to be watching Vare with interest, while Tryko'Sam lead the way.

Maya asks Vare, "So, actual magic, is it? Is there a short version of how-- or, does that require years of explaining, Wizard Vare?"

Vare glances over at Maya, giving her a bit of an odd look, but then again, most of his 'looks' are odd in some way or other. He never seemes to focus properly on someone, and rarely makes eye contact. Even when he does, it seems fleeting, as if done by happy chance. After that brief moment, he simply nods and begins into his explaination, keeping pace with the company as they make their way to Sim room 6.

"There are many different types of magic which exist, and mine is only one among many. In essence, the combination of powerful arcane words, etching of sigils in the air with the hands to draw forth the natural magical energy around us, and convert it into a usable form. Spells also generally require something tangible which the magical energy converts." As he speaks, he had one hand in a pouch which brings forth the most quintessential and recognizable component - a small ball which carries the pungent smell of bat guano and sulfur. "This, with the proper incantation and tracing of sigils in the air, will become a raging fireball, for example."

"That is the simplest explanation, though it is worth noting that it does take years to develop the mind to handle the arcane words... and such words are fleeting. I must read my spellbook every day, memorizing spells, and when I cast them, the words burn in my memory and are forgotten until I rest and re-read them. It can be a taxing process on an untrained mind, though it can be taught." He finishes without so much as a flourish, looking about the still-blank Sim Room 6. (unless it isn't blank ;P)

She stands crouched and ready, not letting her guard down.

She glances at Yrrin with a light brow furrowed at his whisper, then to Vickory slithering ahead towards the cave.

There is the sound of a rapier being drawn as Vai once again frees her blade from it's sheath, standing firmly on solid ground once again, though her wings are splayed out to their full span (about a 10ft wingspan fully stretched), ready for Vai to leap into action.

::If what took the villagers are as Yrrin said, then I think profane is more likely... but.:: Vai trails off, the thought unfinished at Vickory enters the lip of the cave.

She couldn't quite place what the cold emanating from the cave reminded her of... maybe Anahita was right. Vai's thoughts kept going to Krays, and his shadowy summons which seemed to drain the very heat out of the air with their presence.

Both Sadie and Adon (and others) might notice that Vai is tightly gripping her blade - so much so that her knuckles are turning white, and she's generally holding herself fairly stiffly. Tough situation or not, such tension does not lend well to prowess on the battlefield, especially for an agility fighter such as Vai.

Seated fairly close by (though still several seats down), is Repp, who seems to have plated the exact 'opposite' meal, with no meat on his plate whatsoever. Casseus and Marcell may notice the bleach-white gnome occasionally glances their way with his startlingly red eyes, though he rarely lingers, appearing to scan the room constantly. Perhaps a little paranoid, or maybe curious, it's somewhat difficult to tell with that blank expression.

I will admit to being a bit partial to your other form and I'm kinda hoping you can get it back at least part time. But even if you don't, you're still my friend, right? I mean...I'm not just imagining that? We are friends?"

She looked a bit torn as she looked back and forth between the departing Tryko'Sam and Rena and seemed to come to some sort of decision. "I'll stay with Rena while she has to stay and help the Professors. We'll catch up with you as soon as we can."

Rena's heart practically hurt at that, so happy she was that Asha had said that, Rena cannot resist the urge to nuzzle Asha, big snout coming down towards her. Rena's head is almost as large as Asha's whole body now. "Yes, we are friends." she whispers happily to the Firebird in her silky voice, her tail still wrapped around Asha's hand gives a light squeeze as well. "I'll ask someone I can trust this time to change me. Vare should be able to do it, or... maybe Settro." The nuzzling continues through this, with Rena's mouth only opening just enough to speak. "Thank you, Asha." she finishes.

The cave tilts sharply downwards ahead, daylight not penetrating too far, though there is a flicker of light ahead. For a moment nothing happens... then Vickory senses another presence around her...

If it weren't for the pieces of your memory that don't quite add up I wouldn't have spotted it at all," she said to Ehos. "In your memory, it is simply a tawdry affair of no great remark. However, that doesn't match your own statements about what happened, or your memory of Phaezeriel's analysis of the demon mark, or the memory of someone telling you some important information telepathically...there's no trace of the communication in your mind, but you told others about it afterwards, and of course the psychic link that temporarily existed between yourself and Rena. One of my best students is a half-succubus, and once she establishes a psychic connection with someone they are permanently weak towards her enchantments and telepathic powers. If that's what a half-succubus can do, it stands to reason that a full succubus of no small power would be able to do that much more. You will likely always be weak towards her interference and it would appear that she can affect you at any time she wishes, even from a distance. It would also appear that your are affected by others who were also affected by her. Almost like a network. It's not full enthrallment, but certainly heading in that direction. Also, much like Rena over there, your personality has been altered in a subtle yet destructive way, increasing your natural hedonistic tendencies to a truly absurd level." She didn't say aloud that it made him smell like prey, so very, very easy to influence. It was a good thing she still had a few hours until sunset. "I think I can block or at least reduce that influence if you wish."

"Unfortunately, your mind was wiped entirely clean of anything that might have given us any clues as to how to find this demon. If I were less talented at sifting through minds, I would have thought you made her up as an excuse."

Ehos seems to take a long moment to process this information. He had thought the memories were fuzzy... he tries not to focus on the fact that... if she's this good at manipulating him... how could he trust anything he remembered? Anything might be a lie... 'She's... Yes. Can you block her as much as possible?'

He glances back at Jaiye for a moment, an apologetic look on his face before turning back to Miss Jones. 'If... if I'm so weak to her influence, can she... am I going to be a danger to those around me? Is it possible that she could force me to do... well. You know.' Miss Jones may or may not know Ehos' history, but his sound 'issue' is logged in his file.

The sound of small wings draws closer to Vai and Phaezeriel's mental presence comes to her strongly.

Vai:
Vai has felt when Phaezeriel visits her mind, and this is nearly that strong; his presence is close, like a comforting arm around her shoulders, ::My friend, I know this is difficult. The overall effect should be enough to allow you to remain free to make your own decisions henceforth. Are you ready to begin?"

Ginni was sitting gingerly on her not-really-there chair. She eyed the lemonade suspiciously.

"It's not really there is it? The lemonade. It's an illusion."

"Okay, so questions....you're not human. That's not a question. I know that from the scans they did on you. You have two hearts. Do you know what you are? Also, the girl in the outer room said that you were the second regeneration...so....you died before?"

"Also, I should warn you...in this room without my psychic blocks I am a great danger to you. Without meaning to I could easily alter your personality in unpredictable ways. I would never do you harm of my own free will, but please remember that I'm part demon, Mel. Without my controls....I'm dangerous. So we've got another reason to solve this problem quickly."

"about the Lemonade, it can be an illusion, its as real as you wnat it to be."

mel takes a moment to ponder Ginni's wuestion. "I don't know what I am, I am not so sure I even want to know, I am afraid to loose what I do have. I mean Dom, and maybe Kai, and I hope not you."

"I guess I did die before, but I don't have any knowledge of that. I have been this way for as long as I can remember. even as a child..."

she trails off a bit her happy expression starts to turn somber. "was my life a lie? Mabye I'm not Dom's little sister? What am I? am I some kind of freak?" The whiteness of the room goes a little darker.

Mel turns away from Ginni embarassed, believeing everything she told Ginni in the past to be a lie. "those memories I have, could they be fake?"

She takes some deep breaths. like she is concentrating. "There are barriers in place, parts of my memories seem to be shut off. those must be where the answers lie. but we now have more insight about me. "

she turns back to Ginni "I may not remember anything when and If I come out of this, but you will. I trust you to do the right thing with this knowledge about me, whatever the right thing is."

Once at the teleportation room, Michael asks the dwarf in charge there to send them to Anderail. With his usual gruff demeanor, he sends them off in a rush of magic.

"Welcome back to the City in the Trees." He says quietly, holding here gently.

Male Sapphire Dragon

"I'm just... Curious about everything, really. Can't explain why. And i haven't felt any worry about perusing what I'm curious about, now i think about it. Oh, the question, right. I'm going to be learning to do some magic, and i was just curious if you knew some. It seems pritty commonplace here."

"I think that whether you are related by blood or not, you are still Dom's little sister. Your parents are still your parents. Family isn't always about who you're born to. Families can happen other ways too. The important thing is that you all love each other," she said quietly, with sincerity.

"And if not being human makes you a freak, then I'm a freak too. So is your brother. Like me he's part outsider, just the outsider came from a different direction. Different doesn't have to mean freak. Whatever you are is fine. You're still Melody."

"Now, the question becomes, do you want to try and explore your blocked memories, or do you want to leave it be and trust that they were sealed for a good reason? Or do you want to continue to focus on how to switch places between you and errr....you."

"Most demons and devils like to torture or make mortals feel as horrible as they possibly can. If you ever meet one you don't know, I'd assume they want to eat your entrails and just run."
