Don't forget that there is a large passage heading south from the eastern branch of the crypt where you fought the ghouls.
Current Moathouse Dungeon Map <-- the tunnels Berashel and Tybek are exploring twist and wind and I have not gotten them fully drawn as I am having problems with the sight blocking in Maptools.
Tybek Odeon
"Can yae talk, Berashel? Did yae find anything worth keepin?! If the answer is nae, then Ahh dinnae want tae be standin aroond like some bump on a log. Let's gae and find the action and the treasure!"
Unless Berashel comes back with anything valuable, Tybek will encourage the company to return to the eastern branch of the crypt and follow the large passage heading south.
DM Chaos
After finding another sail and a few wolves, Berafrog decides that these tunnels are unlikely to lead anywhere and returns to where Tybek is carefully polishing and counting the coins he found.
In total you found 1 falcon (pp), 10 sails(gp) and 8 wolves(sp).
After resuming his more elvish form and brushing off the dirt from their knees, Berashel and Tybek crawl back out of the narrow opening and return to the crypt where the rest of the party anxiously awaited.
After a brief discussion, the party decides to head down the large entrance to the crypt that leads south from the eastern section of the crypt. Unlike the crypt which was finished with a dark green stone floor, which you have no doubt was not inexpensive to install, the passage heading south and then east is rougher, but still well made. Portions appear to be natural stone while other parts are cobblestone that has been laid atop the earth. The passage goes south for about twenty feet, then heads east, then south, and then east about forty feet before it ends at a T where it meets another similar passage leading north and south.
To the south, a rough cut set of stairs leads down about 20' and you cannot see what is beyond as the curve of the ceiling does not allow any further sight. To the left, north, the passage leads as far as your vision allows and looks to end in a door. There is also an opening about 30' to the north which appears to lead further to the east.
Maegge Weissam
"Hmm, which way to go?" ponders Maegge. "I'm no bloodhounds, but..." he says, and takes a few long, gentle whiffs from each corridor to try and determine what could lay down each direction.
Perception (south corridor): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 Sure, NOW I roll a 20!
Perception (north corridor): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
"If in doubt, always follow your nose!" he chirps.
Tybek Odeon
"Maegge, yae daft wee scamp! Jist because dwarves get packed together daesnae mean that they stink! Aye, yae could o' easily said it smells like a pack o' hobbits whae daenae like bathin! Noo let's gae and find oot what wretched beastie is really putting up the stink! Let's gae north and put an end tae this dispute! Besides, if it smells like a tavern, mebbae we can find a keg o' King's ale!
Tybek Odeon
"Ach! Ahh can see that yer worried that Ahh may end up in tavern and yae willnae be able tae get me oot! Trust me, Ahh willnae be lingerin longer than Ahh need tae! But Ahh'll gae south if yae like, but we dannae wantae leave the north unexplored! If there is treasure aboot, we want tae find it!"
Tybek sneaks south looking for traps along the way.

South leads down a set of stairs that have been carved into the stone. While it appears as though they were intended to be well made, it is clear that they are quite unfinished. As you proceed down the stairs, which lead about 15 deeper down, you feel the air is slightly cooler, perhaps 5-10 degrees.
When Tybek gets to the bottom of the steps, the passage ends by turning right into a dark room. When a torch is brought, he can see a dark pool of liquid before him. It looks like water and on the edge of the pool he sees three or four fish which are lying about in various states of decay which are likely what Maegge smelled. Tybek already made his Perception above, these are for the rest of the party. Please state where you go to make the perception checks.
Ranim Nejem
Ranim sees the strange pool of water as she moves up with the others. Curious she utters an incantation to search for magical auras. "It seems a strange spot for fishing, does it not? I have some string, if any of you have a couple hooks. Who knows, perhaps it will tell us some secret. Or even better, there are stories of fishing up a mermaid to grant wishes. Though I would've expected something a tad more outdoorsy."

"There's a bunch of bones in the water... and something shiny! It's too bad I don't have any fish-hooks with me, or I'd try to catch it up - I'd prefer not to touch such obviously unsafe water!"
Berashel
Berashel will go to BB 38/39 with the wall tohis back and peer in using his darkvision. However he is distracted by the bad fish smell which reminds him of his days traveling to Absalom and he stares at the pool lost in his thoughts.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Braden Montajay
The small mage casts a quick spell and advances, eager to see what is in the pool.
He scans the pool for magic dweomers and realizes Ranim was doing the same.
Having played Torchlight and Fate, I wonder if I should have brought a fishing rod to transform my dog into something meaner.
Tybek Odeon
Tybek walks up to the water and looks in to see if he can find the shiny object. "It daesnae look that deep. Are yae sure this wee pool is unsafe? Daes anybody hae a wee stick Ahh can put in the water tae try and get the shiny coin? Every wee coin adds up!"
DM Chaos
The party slowly moves into the strange pool filled room, each person carefully looking in the corners for anything unexpected. Deciding that there is nothing to worry about, Tybek leans his head over the pool attempting to spot whatever the shiny thing was that Maegge claimed to have seen. As soon as Tybek leans over the dark pool, the water explodes as a huge clawed monster springs forth attempting to lock its claws onto Tybek.

Any chance we know what this is?
DM Chaos, not sure if you have seen or thought of this. I usually think of knowledge as a passive skill, either you know what it is or you don't. In my PBP I typically just put the creature and the relevant skill check and what information I am willing to share about it in a spoiler that people can roll against. That way we can roll and share information about the creature if we have the skill and make the check. It is a little more work for you, but most of the time you end up doing anyways when we ask...any thoughts? Thanks.
Being caught completely off guard, Arindale can do little for the moment but hope it doesn't eat Ty before he can react...
DM Chaos
This is a giant crayfish. It is essentially mindless. It will attempt to grab and drag its victims under water where it will let them drown and then consume them.
Braden - if you make this check, then you can decide whether you wish to restate your actions. If someone else makes the check, I think that there would have been insufficient time warn you to change your action.
I have not figured whether I like posting the info. I prefer having people make one Knowledge check, and then posting what that would be for any knowledge skills they have ranks in. So Braden, if you rolled a 7, it would be 7 + 9 = 16 (everything but Nobility).
I hate taking rolls away from people, but one option is for me to make the knowledge rolls for everyone, like I do with Init, and then post what each person knows, if anything. This would definitely speed things up as you would have the knowledge as soon as I finish posting.

Round 1
"Oh, no! Tybek!" cried out Maegge. "Berashel, help him!" he cried out, remembering that their new companion was much more adept at fighting than himself and so stayed out of the way - but drawing his sickle in case he could help. Feeling helpless all of a sudden, he remembered one of his druid teachers back in Wispil had an easy spell for flashing a burst of light in a creature's eyes to scare it - and tried to do so himself.

Round 1
After being grabbed, Tybek attempts to free himself from the grasp of the huge crustacean, but this is without success. Moments later, Braden begins to move his hands while speaking in the strange tongue of the arcane while Maegge causes a brief flash of light, which although harmless, does briefly distract the beast.

Round 1-2 recap
After the initial surprise attack by the giant crustacean, the beast looses its grip on Tybek and the part turns to returning the assault. First Arindale swings his morning star which leaves a small crack in the carapace of the monster. Immediately after Arindale's swing, a small dolphin appears behind the crayfish through a greenish tear in reality. While the dolphin does not much more than bump its nose against the creature's thick shell, this is enough to distract the crayfish so that Tybek is able to land two two solid blows to the side of the creature's head. Although Tybek's blows failed to kill the creature, it is clear that it is near the end of its life. However, before the crayfish is able to escape back down into its watery hole, Berashel steps past Arindale and with a single swing of his sword severs the crayfish's head which falls to the ground before Tybek as the massive shelled body slowly sinks back into the water rapidly disappearing into the depths leaving only a murky red blotch of blood in the water as it sinks.
Combat over
After the sudden fight, you all catch your breaths and survey the scene. As before you notice a number of bones, both fish and humanoid, lying strewn about the pool in various states of consumption and deterioration. The bones are both in and out of the water. Maegge notices that he can still see a flickering of silver from the far side of the pool which appears to be your torchlight reflecting off something beneath the water.
Tybek Odeon
"Achh! Ahh suppose that will teach the beastie tae mess with this dwarf! Ahh noticed, elf, that you had tae get the last attack in. Did yae nae see my last attack wid mae axe had already done the trick, but Ahh thank yae just the same."
Berashel
Berashel responds to Tybek, "I was taught to let others of less fortunate means have the opportunity to prove their worth. Unfortunately I culd no longer wait for you to prove yours as it was going to slip away. I am sure you will have another chance in the future! Keep at it!"
Berashel says all of that in a tone not unlike a professor teaching a student. However as he turns away to investigate the shiny bit under the water a smile creeps across his face.
Braden Montajay
Braden indicates to his semi-intelligent marine friend the shiny object below. "Well landed Barashel. That is one big blade! And, for future reference, I have no need to prove my worth in combat. Get me out of it as soon as possible!"
Hopefully this dolphin can retrieve it. 2 rounds left.
Tybek Odeon
"How deep is it?"
"How am Ahh suppose tae ken? Ahh was only standin near the edge, but if yae look down, yae can see the deid see monster still sinkin!"
"We should get that treasure!"
"Yae have a rare talent fer stated the obvious, Priest!"
"Who needs healing?"
"Can yae nae see that Ahh dae?! That crusty crab tried tae crush me and the bruises dannae feel tae gud! Noo, dae yae hae any healin that smells like a gud dose o' ale?"
Tybek Odeon
Tybek takes out his hemp rope and grappling hook and toss the weighted end in while he holds onto the other end.
"Ach! Ahh hate gettin mae gud rope wet, but Ahh'm fishin fer treasure and this should gie us an idea how deep she is."
Tybek has fifty feet of rope. Does the hook hit bottom?
Ranim Nejem
Before Tybek lowers the rope, "Let me see the hook for a moment." Ranim casts light on the end of the hook, to help see in the pool. As he lowers the rope in, she sits near the edge watching, running her hand in the pool. "Wonder what you'll catch with a hook that big?"
Tybek Odeon
"Wonder what you'll catch with a hook that big?"
"Ahh'm hopin lots o' treasure! Mebbae Ahh'll hook ontae a chest stuffed with gold and platinum! Mind yae, Ahh'd be content if Ahh hook it ontae a keg of fine ale that somebody left at the bottom o' this pool. Ahh'll mair an likely catch a big fish or a boot."
