Storm of Sinners
Game Master
BayouSnowman
Deathwatch campaign based on the Calixis Sector from Dark Heresy.
MVP Vote
Brother Lutha
Reasons
He was always a leader even with my character present, made right decisions and choices, took risks for the better of the group and led with example. So my vote goes to Lutha for his skills in support role to the squad was outstanding and easy to overlook.
Male Human Dungeon Master
Forgot to give you all a renown bonus. Everyone gets 9 renown. Brother Leon gets 1 extra for surviving the plasma drives. Brother Lutha gets 2 for winning a challenge against a worthy foe.
Ultramarine Devastator (Rank 7), Deathwatch Keeper
MVP vote
Brother Leon.
Getting the compound's power on-line, and being able to power up the surface-to-space weapon was vital in keeping the Kill-Team from being overwhelmed by further Chaos forces, and allows us to continue working aboard the Pious Immolation. Things might have gone very differently if the Pious Immolation had been destroyed.
Dark Angels Assault Marine
MVP vote
Brother Leon
Reason
With technical know-how and willingness to push through at a personal expense Brother Leon secured s solid victory for the Emperor.
Male Human Dungeon Master
There was some confusion with oaths. I guess you had taken the Oath of Glory. I had missed that. Usually that one is not available to devestators, but that is fine. So renown will be increased significantly.
Male Human Dungeon Master
Male Human Dungeon Master
Total renown now is 41 with individuals possibly having more.
Male Human Dungeon Master
MVP so far
2 Brother Leon
1 Brother Lutha
1 Brother Elyas
Brother Tellemachus and Brother Leon yet to vote, might not get one from Brother Tellemachus so if there is a tie I will sort it out.
Arkhos was leader if I remember correctly, he's a tactical marine right?
Male Human Dungeon Master
No he is a devastator. +Edit+ at least I think so? What are you Arkhos. I might have been reading a restriction on your chapter does that mean you are all only devestators or you can not be a devastator?
HELL YEAH! BOARDING ACTIONS!
Also his special ability is Tactical Expertise, so he's a tac-marine.
Male Crimson Fists Techmarine
MVP Vote
Brother Elyas
Reasoning
Elyas valiantly held off the Keeping of Secrets in hand to hand while the rest of us took potshots from a distance. Without his help we were sure to be mowed down
Male Human Dungeon Master
Final count
2 Brother Leon
1 Brother Lutha
2 Brother Elyas
Since this was such a large mission, instead of breaking the tie, I will add a vote to Brother Lutha and give all three of you an Honorable Mention. Congratulations Brother Lutha, Brother Leon, and Brother Elyas
Male Human Dungeon Master
Let me know who is at 3 now. after verifying Captain Enoch will be awarding awards before the next mission.
Congratulations guys, I have one question, can I "improve my chapter trapping weapon into something more powerful?
Dark Angels Assault Marine
I have no idea if I am 2 or 3
How much XP is needed for rank, I'm trying to find it on the book.
EDIT: Never mind found the table and about 1,000XP short of Rank 3.
Male Human Dungeon Master
I would not say you could get something more powerful, but you might be able to get a Master Crafted version of your Chapter Trapping, eventually maybe even a Relic Version, but a Chapter Trapping is what it is to represent your commitment to your chapter and would not be a trapping of your chapter if you changed it.
I was looking at something similar to Master Crafted or Relic version of it, just wondering
Male Crimson Fists Techmarine
I should be at 3 now as well
I'm focusing most of my requisition on taking the gear we should need for breaching and boarding. For those of you who wish to engage in melee combat I strongly suggest picking up a solid backup ranged weapon. We will likely be performing combat in a void at some point and maneuverability could suffer as a result.
Exceptional Astartes Combi-Melta w/Fire-Selector [26 req; 6 with Marksman Honor]
1 Clip of Witchfire Bolts [Free with Tactical Marine Specialty]
Melta Bomb [12 req]
Bulkhead Shears [17 req]
Pict Recorder [5 req]
Multikey [15 req]
Total Used: 55
Male Crimson Fists Techmarine
As far as other things to think of, Melee inclined should consider those Witch-Stakes since they should help us out, also remember that there are the Witch Bolts, which do normal damage with the added bonus of impairing those with Psy Ratings
The load-out I was thinking of for myself was
Astartes Psicannon [45 req]
Siege Auspex [7 req] *Half Cost correct?
Total Used: 52 req
Ultramarine Devastator (Rank 7), Deathwatch Keeper
As I'm away for the next couple of days, and might not be able to post until late Thursday, I'll stay on board the Pious Immolation to start with.
I can help co-ordinate the mission from the bridge once the sensorium is repaired, and if I'm needed on the mission I could probably get a shuttle over.
Dark Angels Assault Marine
I am bit conflicted regarding equipment. What do you think we are going the face?
Traitor Legions, Daemons, Cultists, and probably the ship itself trying actively to do us in. Fighting will likely be largely close-quarters with little maneuvering room. I'd recommend staying away from weapons with the blast or flame profile. Melta would likely serve great purpose, as well as Witch-Stakes if we happen to go up against any more Daemons. Finally it may be worth considering bringing a teleport homer, that way if we find any survivors we can just beam them right out.
Any volunteers for leader?
I can lead again I made everyone shine, except my self lol, at leas my character kept his promise to himself
Male Human Dungeon Master
If anyone has Tactics: void combat they would make a good leader for this mission
Male Crimson Fists Techmarine
I haven't quite got that far in my slow progress of gaining all the tactics
I don't even qualify for additional tactics until Rank 3 I think.
By my count we only have four marines going on this mission. Tellemachus and Lucian are both AFK right?
Wondering if I should put in a second character sometimes just for more variety of the team XD
Hello guys.
Just chiming in as Nimon extended an invitation in our other game thread.
I can submit either Brother Calculus of the Iron Hands or Brother Hrothgar of the Space Wolves.
Or submit an entirely new character.
Personally I'd recommend a new character since the character creation rules are slightly different.
Ok. Will check out the character generation rules.
Edit: Found the rules.
Brother Lutha, what's the present composition of the Kill-Team? Any specialty not yet filled?
Male Crimson Fists Techmarine
We are in serious need of an Apothecary
Male Human Dungeon Master
Shh no apothecary! Make them suffer!!!! jk.
GM, I have access to First Founding and Honour the Chapter. Am thinking of submitting a Red Scorpion Apothecary.
Edit: or from some other fiendishly creepy Chapter.
We have:
2x Tactical Marines
1x Devastator Marine
1x Tech-Marine
1x Assault Marine
1x Librarian
So of the base specialties the only thing we are missing is an Apothecary. I could get into what role I think each character fills but that's a much longer pose.
Lamenters and Red Scorpions in the same kill-team huh? Surely something will come of it.
Male Human Dungeon Master
I do not allow First Founding or Honour the Chapter , but if there is a chapter in those books you want to use you can.
You can use Rites of Battle to make a chapter. I think so far the Executioner chapter is probably the "creepiest" I only know the red scorpions from Forge World I will have to look into their background to see whats up with them.
For inquiring minds
I wouldn't call them creepy necessarily. They're more like a walking talking game of Wolfenstein.
Male Human Dungeon Master
Funny I had just read that. I use Lex and Wikis a lot for the chapters. Some stuff there is little about, but there was sufficient information about the Red Scorpions. Lucian will probably appreciate the adherence to the codex.
The timeline is before the Badab War, right?
It hasn't been stated outright but my characters backstory is after the war.
Male Human Dungeon Master
I had not given it a specific date yet, but the Angevin crusade is in the distant past. The Achilius Crusade is just starting in the Jericho reach. 777.M41 aprox
Male Human Dungeon Master
I do not know much about the badab war If it is after then well make it after
Well the Badab war is in the 900s-ish. If you want to make the call that this takes place before I'll have to take some time and rewrite my backstory since my character was born in the 700 or 800s.
Badab War ended in 906.M41
After the war, the Lamenters were given a 100 year penitent crusade.
I'm aware. Supposedly both of our chapters were gobbled by 'nids in the aftermath, it is something I had addressed when originally writing my character. Depending on what the GM decides it is something I may have to change.
Male Human Dungeon Master
I know we had mentioned the Badab war before with some of the other chapters too so we can make it 910. M41 for a hard date. I had not really considered it before as I was more interested in the Calixis sector information.
Now this makes for interesting character interaction hehehe
