Brother Ren'Shaw |
Ren'Shaw lumbers to the dock, ready to do the Emperor's work. His weapon in his hand. His extra arms ready and enhanced. Time for the Machine Cult to do their work

Cornix |
My bad I had misread the text and was waiting for Gaius.
Taking Gaius to a quiet room away from distractions, Cornix draws out his Tarot deck
"I feel we should look for knowledge of what we may face, so let us both focus on the question. What foes will we face in our quest for The Ardent Crown?"
Drawing power to him, Cornix focuses on the question whilst he shuffles the cards and lays them out on the table in the spread known as the Raven.
As the rush to the launch bay proceeds, Cornix adopts his usual unfazed, not bothered attitude and rolls his eyes at the keen rushing manners of his brothers, however inside he feels the adrenaline rush as they prep for battle, particularly the chance to recover a powerful relic of his discipline and to retrieve the body of a brother raven.
Gaius Cornelius |
Gaius focuses on the possible types of enemies his short knowledge grants him. He also prays to the Emperor for guidance and secretly asks for a vision of what they are going to find.
Gaius Cornelius |
-Alright, so we still have a pair of days to work out.
Something inside tells Gaius this is not the normal procedure, so he walks decidedly to the bridge to ask the Captain.
Gaius Cornelius |
-Captain!
Gaius looks around to check if his team is ready, in case they need to enter combat urgently.
-What has happened? Is there enemy on sight?
Radavel |
The captain looks at all of you present and he explains that the ship's instrumentation cannot locate your quarry. Whether you are too early or too late is unknown. What is known is that the ship has arrived at precisely the moment you are all supposed to arrive.
Cornix you notice that everyone on the bring is busy going auspex and warp transit data. And so far you can see confusion in their faces.
Ren Shaw if you joined the others then you're at the bridge.
About the augury, can you frame your questions in a yes and no type of query.
Gaius Cornelius |
-What do you mean 'the ship's not there'? I suppose you have a way of tracking it down, haven't you?
Radavel |
The captain looks at Gaius, "I did not misspoke, sir. I meant what I said that the ship -- The Argent Crown, is not there. The auspex do not detect her. If the ship has not yet exited the warp and the auspex support this, then we need some other method of detection."
"I believe you have a librarian with you. Perhaps he can do something."
Cornix |
I can try, but that seems to take a lot from the power of the ability. According to the rulebook it should give me an idea of the greatest foe and the next 3 greatest (cos I am PR 4). Would something along the lines of "On our quest for the Argent Crown, will we be opposed by Man, daemon or alien?" Be appropriate or were you looking more for something like "On our quest for the Argent Crown, will we face daemon's?"
"Detection in the warp is not something I am skilled in, but I will see if I can trace any warp disturbances. If that fails, perhaps we can ask the Emperor's Tarot once more."
His hands moving to the sword at his side and the Raven skull hanging over his chest plate, Cornix focuses his mind on the movements of the warp around them.

"Captain, as your mission was to find the ship for us, this will work best with you. I want you to think of the question 'Are we in the right place to meet the Argent Crown'. Whilst I cast the cards, look at me and focus on that question."
When the Captain is ready he shuffles and deals the Tarot cards.
Gaius Cornelius |
Gaius puts his helmet on and starts pointing everywhere.
-Alright! Captain, please, focus on it. Brothers! Get ready for boarding! For the Emperor!

Gaius Cornelius |
Once inside the Thunderhawk and closing in to their target, Gaius talks to everyone once more.
-Alright, you all. You know what we do best, and each of you has something he does best. Just do it, let's get this thing and go back. Right?

Distracted by his inner thoughts, Cornix doesn't spot the cloaked vessel. However he jumps to at Brother Ren'Shaw's warning.
"Pilot, maintain your course, but be ready for evasive manoeuvres. Don't make them aware that we know. Run any sweeping scans you can of the Argent Crown and be careful to catch the cloaked ship in them. Brother Gaius your thoughts?"
Gaius Cornelius |
Sorry, guys, been a super busy week which took all my time and strength.
-Put all your efforts in pinpointing the ship. Brother Ren'Shaw, can you tell us its position?. Crew, use all your scanners.
A few moments of quick thinking, and Gaius speaks again.
-Brothers, be ready for a potential boarding action. Brother Ren'Shaw, have you identified the kind of vessel we face? Also, someone make contact with the Blade of Contrition and tell them to be ready for support, but do this with the utmost discretion. Brother Cornix' directives were proper; let them do the opening play.
