A Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far Far Away…..:

It has been a little under two months since the destruction of the second death star and the defeat of the emperor. The Rebel Alliance has suffered heavy casualties at the battle of Endor and is trying to recover. Meanwhile, uprisings are breaking out all across the galaxy and not all of them are for the good. Several planetary governors had been put in charge of the worlds all apart of the Empire’s control. These leaders now sought to fill the vacuum left by the emperor’s death. With no apparent heir the Empire has been reduced to fighting itself.
The galaxy is quickly plunged into a chaos that it has not seen for several millennia. The Rebel Alliance soon rallies what is left of it’s forces to try and help the wounded galaxy repair itself and for the better. However, other influential leaders have appeared as well.
The strongest of these is Mirianna Palpatine. The emperor’s adopted daughter. Rumor has it that she is a trained force user and she is the closest thing to an heir that many of the imperial officers could find. She now leads a good fourth of the imperial army. The rest of the empire is ruled by dozens of smaller factions and Mirianna aims to reign in these leaders and make them yield to her new authority and Empress of the galaxy.
The death of Jabba the Hutt also fueled a new war. Zadora the Hutt had bet his cards on the Alliance defeating the Empire by backing them in the war. When he heard his rival Jabba had been killed by some of the Alliance’s key figures, he moved into action quicker than anyone thought possible. His connection with the Alliance allowed him to absorb much of Jabba’s assets to him and another crime lord named Nym. During the battle of Endor Zadora waged his own war and seized the assets Nym had gained from service with the Alliance. Now Zadora was buying out every mercenary organization across the galaxy. With the Empire in chaos and no real galactic order, Zadora declared war on all the major galactic crime lords. His advantage, speed, resources, and his allegiance with the Alliance and other groups who are sectioning his actions for a hostile take over of the criminal underground.
With all the uncertainty and chaos now in effect, the stability between worlds in waning and the conflict continues higher than it ever has. With so much turmoil can Mirianna, The Rebel Alliance, or Zadora ever hope to return order and unity to the galaxy…

This recruitment is for Zadora the Hutt. He is a neutral faction that believes in his own self interests. His goal is to conquer the criminal underground. You are here for the money and no other real reason. If you have another reason feel free to elaborate but for the most part, Zadora himself isn’t know to be a goody two shoes despite his aiding the alliance. He wont make you do anything too evil. Mostly you will be fighting other criminals and occasionally the empire. This is the only thread where you must supply all your own gear and weapons. You get the normal credit value your class normally provides.

You are allowed to put forth a character for each thread and I may pick more than one of them depending on how many recruits I get over all. Otherwise I pick my favorite of your two or three characters for the thread you made them for.

Recruitment ends in 2 weeks or when I get enough spots filled.

Requirements:
Sources We will be using The Star Wars Roleplaying Game Revised Core Rulebook by Bill Slavicsek, Andy Collins, and JD Wiker. If you don’t have it and want to play, it is an easy buy on amzon.com ranging from 15 to 40 Dollars or on Ebay.
AbilitiesWe will be using 25 Point buy following all the purchase rule from the Star Wars rulebook with the exception that instead of all abilities starting at a base 8, they start at 10.
Vitality I have decided to give players a max vitality equal to their hit dice max + con X 3. Players will not gain more vitality until level 4. This is to keep you from dying too soon as in this game……death can be quick due to the high damaging weapons.
Classes You can pick from all classes except for Jedi Classes. Jedi Adept is permissible but only with a good and reasonable back story. Thing is, Luke is technically the last “Jedi” but not the last force user.
Races All races are usable within Zadora’s faction with no limitations. In the imperial faction there are only humanoid, or basically human looking species like Cereans, or Chiss and so on. In the alliance there will be no primitive races. I added a few races and will post the details on either Sunday or Monday depending on my free time to type it from paper to PC. That’s a lot of work. The following new races are:
-Gran +2 Con +2 Cha -2 Dex
-Chiss +2 Cha +2 Int
-Miraluka – limit one per thread +2 Wis -2 Cha Start with Force Sensetive Feat and Sense Feat
- Mandelorian – limit one per thread +2 Str +4 Con -2 Cha Has fast heal
-Tusken – Fringer or scout class only +2 Str +2 Con -4 Cha Has +2 trait bonus to animal handle and Ride. Uses Graffii proficiency
-Weequay +2 Dex +2 Con -2 Int -2 Cha
-Nikto +2 Str +2 Con -2 Wis – 2 Cha
-Chadrafan +4 Dex +2 Cha -2 Str -2 Con Small
-Drell +2 Int +2 Wis no negatives
-Barbel +2 Str +4 Con -2 Dex -2 Cha -2 Int Has Nat Armor
These races are added and I will post more details later. The ability modifiers are just to give you an idea as to what they are capable of.

Now What I need you to put in your ap. I don’t want a statblock as things may need to change but this is what I do need. Also don’t make an Alias please. Not yet anyways
You need
Your backstory including
-Name, Age, and Race
-Homeworld,
-The Reason for your class
-Physical Description
-Skill Explanation – (Basically you explain where you got your skills from, this doesn’t need to be too precise)
- Motivations (What are you character’s goals and what motivates them to do stuff, anything)
-And finally why you are joining this faction.

Once all that is taken care of you just wait for me to look over your app. This campaign has a few critiques and if something you chose wont fit or don’t make sense I will ask you to correct it.

I am looking for 4 to 6 players a thread. I will close all recruitments in two weeks or once all positions are filled with desirable players. Whichever happens first. Best of luck to Y’all.

ATTENDANCE. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

This campaign does not have an attendance rule. You post when you can. However, I run a tight ship and will move all three threads along regularly to keep everyone on the same page even if not everyone has posted so try not to get left behind. I will post Summeries in the campaign Info section to summarize what happened so you wont be too lost after being gone too long.

If there is anything I missed or you have questions, post them and I will answer to the best of my knowledge.

How can I not put the bounty hunter with a Hutt it would disgrace Star Wars. I will have a character for you later today.

Venkru Vong
20 years old
Race Mandelorian homeworld Mandelore
Soldier

Reason for class and reason for Zodora the Hutt
"No Mandalorian soldier should have to fight an aruetii's war for the price of a day's food. No Mando'ad should have to fight at all, except to defend Manda'yaim, his home, or his family, or because he wants to. We have to stop being the tool of governments that don't care if we live or die so long as we do their bidding."
―Kad'ika

Human appearance, brown skin, brown eyes, brown hair wears traditional mandelorian armor including the helmet with the t-shaped visor.....

Skills:
Trained by his people, and sees either other faction gaining dominance as his people once more becoming tools of one or the other.

Not sure if I can get the book :(

Ellor Vantai, 18 year old Duros
Homeworld: Space
Class: Scout; Reason/Role: pilot, scout, skirmisher
physical description: dark blue skin, 1.6 meters tall, 48 kg, fairly average looking
background (skill training, motivations, reason for this faction): born and raised in space, Ellor is far too free wheeling to accept the confines of a formal military organization. Zadora's efforts offers him the chance to work toward his goal of owning his own ship while retaining sufficient freedom of action and movement in the actual field.

Torin Tol, 28 years old, Kel Dor.
Homeworld: Dorin
Class: Solider
Torin was a solider on Dorin.
Physical Description: Dark red skin color, 1.9 meters tall, 80 kg.
Skill Explanation: Torin was trained by his people. He was part of a special squad used to sneak in and capture enemies.
Motivations: Torin left Dorin to see the galaxy. He wants to better his combat skills.
Reason for this Faction: Torin does not really like the empire. He knows on the other hand they are a force to be reckoned with. So to try to keep out of the empires way as much as possible he went with the Hutts.

Stats:

Here is my stat lay out after racial modifiers I do not know what to do with my last 1 point though any thought? If you are wondering why I have 12 int it is so I can get all three of the skills I need to be a bounty hunter.
Base:
str: 14 (6)
dex: 15 (8)
con: 14 (6)
int: 12 (4)
wis: 10
cha: 10

After Racial modifiers:
str: 14

con: 12
int: 12
wis: 12
cha: 10

Alright so that is done man KenderKin you beat me to the solider. Anyway Hi KenderKin and Sunshadow. Kenderkin I can post stuff if you need it.

Here is the other charcter I am proposing. His background is a bit more detailed that Jarl's.

Name: Colvin Dashwind
Race: Human
Class: Scoundrel
Home Planet: Bothawui

Personality & Appearance:
Colvin is 6'2" 175 lbs. He has brunette hair pulled back into a pony tail and drak brown eyes. He wears treveler's clothing that is not too flashy nor too poor in appearance. He wears no distinguishing jewelry or symbols.

Colvin is reserved in personality speaking quietly and listening intently when others are speaking. He attempts to put others at ease with relaxed body language and slow hand motions. Underneath this calm exterior Colvin is constantly evaluating a situation to determine how circumstances can benefit him. Once he makes up his mind he follows his ideas through as he feels that to do anything halfway is foolish. He does not speak about his past and will hesitate to give out his last name unless absolutelt necessary.

History:

Colvin grew up in the city of Drev’starn on the planet of Bothawui. Coming from a somewhat influential family of human politicians hailing from Duro he was insulated from the world around him. All Colvin knew was that his parents were important people that met with important people. Despite this Raven, Colvin’s father, taught him how to fight from a young age stating that it was very important. While the other children in his inner circle were learning multiple languages and diplomacy Colvin learned the art of combat. He felt foolish and ashamed for this and would isolate from his peers.

It was not until he became a teenager that the truth of his family was revealed, his parents only posed as nobles from Duro but were in fact spies and assassins owing their allegiance to an ancient order known as the GenoHaradan. The truth came at the expense of the life of Colvin’s mother Leona Dashwind. She was slain after her cover was somehow blown and she was exposed as a spy. This was a dangerous time in the universe as the Clone War was raging across the galaxy.

The death of his mother was a huge blow to Colvin. Though his father managed to track one of her killers still on Bothawui he was not able to determine the reason for her assassination. Colvin wanted desperately to find out who had done this. Unfortunately, the search for the assassins that escaped Bothawui was delayed because of the Battle of Bothawui and no ships could leave the planet or at least none that wanted to survive. Raven Dashwind agreed to bring young Colvin with him in an attempt to avenge Leona’s death knowing that if her cover was blown than an attempt on him must simply have been botched. Raven reached out to his contact in the GenoHaradan but this produced unsatisfactory results.

The GenoHaradan considered her death to be beyond the affairs that Raven should have included himself in and he was told to stay on Bothawui and resume his post. It was bad enough his contact noted that two agents had been married and had offspring, failure to comply with the current mission would be met with extreme disapproval. Raven believed that he was compromised and refused to risk Colvin’s life by staying. In fact now he was unsure whether the Geno’s had something to do with Leona’s death.

Raven took Colvin and began his search for answers on Duro. On the journey Raven explained to Colvin that the Dashwind family is a legacy in the GenoHaradan, one of the few since its inception millennia before. The GenoHaradan are an organization that attempts to exert control over the galaxy through assassination. He was fourth in the male line to join the organization and was grooming Colvin for admission into the organization. Raven began to instruct Colvin on the subtle art of political intrigue and quiet assassination (only in theory though as there were no targets to hit). The search on Duro yielded a trail to Bespin from one of Raven’s contacts. That lead turned out to be an ambush that the Dashwind’s only barely survived. This was Colvin’s first action and the first time he had been forced to take another’s life. At only 16 it was a harrowing but eye opening experience. Thankfully his father had taught him how to use a blaster or that may have been his first and last fight. The last surviving assassin from the failed ambush gave up a lead to Coruscant and so again across the galaxy Raven and Colvin traveled.

Unfortunately the search ended there. The lead to Coruscant also proved to be a set up that took the life of Raven and the other two assassins. Colvin at the age of 18 was now alone. With only a few credits Colvin was not sure where to turn. There was no motive, nor a perpetrator that Colvin could identify in the death of his parents. It was not even clear why anyone wanted them dead besides the fact that they were spies.

It was at that point that the galaxy turned upside down. Smoke and flames from high above his current position were coming from the Jedi Temple. This probably explained why there were no authorities to interfere with the blaster battle that just took the life of his father. It turned out that the Jedi were traitors to the Republic! Indeed they had tried to assassinate the Supreme Chancellor and were only barely stopped from a full takeover of the Republic. Not that Colvin had much use for the Republic or the Jedi anyhow so he was not so worried overmuch about this development.

His more immediate concern was for his own life. Colvin knew that if his identity was revealed the same enemies that claimed the lives of his parents may claim his as well. Colvin paid for a transport away from Coruscant. He did not know if he should try to contact the GenoHardan (they may have been the ones who had slain his parents) or if he should return to Bothawui or Duro. With such a tangled weave of deception and no clear answers Colvin decided to stay away from what he knew. Instead he sought out employment in the underworld since this was his only viable skill and the legacy of his family, at least according to his father. So he went off to see the galaxy and hopefully one day avenge his parents’ deaths.

Colvin did not want to spend all of his credits on travel and decided to do short planet hops taking odd jobs until he could build up enough credits to perhaps learn to pilot and then acquire his own spaceship. Alsakan, Grizmalt, Corulag and then finally to Brentaal Colvin traveled. Keeping his head down and earning credits as well as making contacts as he moved along. Luckily it seemed that the trouble that he sought out had yet to follow him. On Corulag a cantina owner mentioned that he had a friend on a space station near Brentaal who was looking for good mechanics like Colvin. The woman's name was Maya. Colvin who was ready to move on agreed to look her up.

Colvin arrived only a day ago to the space station and has discovered that this Maya (apparantly a pretty girl)frequents the Gundark a cantina on the station. Colvin begins his search for Maya and finds that she is working for a mysterious benefactor who is using his influence to plot against the newly risen Empire.

As Colvin and his new friends barely escape the station, and the Imperials chasing them he flies to meet Maya's mysterious benefactor who is none other than Bail Organa. Colvin and his allies agree to help the Senator by rescuing a Imperial Officer who has information vital to the resistance against the Empire. Again by the skin of their teeth they escape with no less than an Imperial Admiral!

The Admiral gives Organa key information which leads to Tatooine and the lair of Jabba the Hutt. With yet another narrow escape and having made an enemy of Jabba the Hutt Colvin and his allies escape the desert wasteland that is Tatooine. A difference in philosophies though causes Colvin to part ways with the Senator (he was unwilling to pay Colvin's ever increasing demands for credits).

Colvin now with more experience under his belt offers his services to one of the few beings who can protect him from the mighty Jabba, Zadora the Hutt. Life shrinks for Colvin whose moveents are now limited by the infamy he has gained, in some circles he is even wanted by Imperials.

Once Jabba dn the Empire fall a still young Colvin offers to do what he can to expand Zadora's criminal Empire. Perhaps in so doing he can finally uncover the underworld factions that killed his parents so long ago.

Looks like I am going martial arts feat chain, since we are mundane....

I am thinking I will go with bagua zhang type of flavor....

Sure we could have more than one soldier!......

I found that book free online...surely not legal, but found it anyway.....

Cool Kenderkin, I plan on going into Bounty Hunter. I always wanted to play a bounty hunter type character in a Star Wars game.

It okay just as long as no one finds out.

Since there are so few classes anyways, I don't care if I see multiple of the same class.

Good to see at least four people are looking to be recruited by Zadora. I hope for a couple of others to join soon but we are only in the first week of recruitment. There is still plenty of time.

Question on ability scores

25 point buy and base 10 being changes to the system

Does that mean that this is the point buy progression we are using?

10 costs 0 points
11 1
12 2
13 3
14 4
15 5
16 6
17 8
18 costs 10 points

11 Costs 1
12 Costs 2
13 Costs 3
14 Costs 4
15 Costs 6
16 Costs 8
17 costs 11
18 costs 14

I used the way in the book for the first set of stats. Used way that was just posted for these new ones.

New Stats:

Base:
str: 16 (8)
dex: 15 (6)
con: 16 (8)
int: 12 (2)
wis: 10
cha: 11 (1)
After Racial modifiers:
str: 16
dex: 17
con: 14
int: 12
wis: 12
cha: 11

I have a quick question about credits did you mean roll the 1d6 for them or take the average?

Roll for credits and add one to the result even if it puts you over. The other two groups are getting a lot of standard issue stuff for free so I'm going to up your income a tad....a lot for some of you.

1d6 ⇒ 6 x500 = 3,000 credits with that extra +1 I am at 3,500.

I have added the following Races: Aqualarish, Nautolan, Feeorins, Zeltrons and Mirialan's to the list of available races for all three threads

-Aqualarish +2 Str +2 Con -2 Cha Water breathing
-Nautolan +2 Dex +2 Int Water Breathing
-Feeorins +2 Str +2 Wis -2 Cha
-Zeltrons +2 Wis +4 Cha. They have Cha producing hormones
-Mirialans +2 Dex +2 Wis.

I have a question about the breath masks since my character is a Kel Dor and has to have a breath mask are you going to make the roll all the time or just going to roll while we are out on a mission. I might change race if this would become a problem for the game and the other players.

You can start with a breath mask and goggles but I will need you to check for daily maintenance if you are out on long missions. Otherwise I will assume you clean it well and regularly.

Okay, I was thinking of instead of getting intimidate first level go with repair and take skill emphasis so I could keep it running since it would be very important for the character he would learn how to keep it running. Thank you for answering my question.

Thanks for the ability score lay-out

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Alright since I have never played a Star Wars game I am wondering if these items would be useful/ what a normal character would have. I have another question to on energy cells do they waste like power packs and if they do how quickly? I could not seem to find it in the book. This is for anyone who can answer me.

Gear:

Item:
Vibro-axe
Blaster carbine
Blast helm and vest
Comlink
Energy cell
Power Pack
Field Kit

total:
3,220 credits
17.7 kg

I know we are still in the recruiting stage but just as an early fyi I will be away from this upcoming Thursday to the Monday after. If my pc's are approved before then I will try to get my stats together before I leave for you to review Shanosuke.

At the rate of recruitment and how many people have shown initial interest, I'd say recruitment wont end before you get back.

Silver Crusade

I am very interested. Just need to check my "Star Wars Box" to see if I still have a copy of the Revised Edition. I will post shortly.

KenderKin what type of martial arts you going to base your character in?

I like the simplicity of bagua

Bagua Zhang to be more relevant

Cool, I had to look it up to see if I knew it been in a few movies. Any reason you did not pick Xingyiquan? I figure it would fit the Mandelorian view on things better. On other note you a human Mandelorian or one of the other races? I do not know if Shanosuke meant just the human ones when he put the race up though.

I have a soldier submitted in the Empire game but I have an idea for a scoundrel/tech specialist for this one. I will put it together. See which one comes out on top.

Shanosuke: I am thinking of playing a Drell. I found this site describing them but I am not sure if or how this would differ from the rulebooks you have.

Cash: 1d6 ⇒ 4 +1 x 500 = 2500 credits

Okay here is the recruitment Results so far.

For starters. I know there has been mentioned of Mandelorian trained races but in my universe, Mandelorians are human.

Kenderkin – Male Mandelorian Soldier named Venkru Vong
Sunshadow21 – Male Duro Scout Named Ellor Vantai
Mrdarknlight – Male Kel Dor Soldier Named Torin Tol
Dennis Harry – Male Human Scoundrel named Colvin Dashwind
Chubbs McGee – Interest but no concept just yet. Still waiting to see what he finds in the “star wars box”
Xzarf – Interested Partial Concept.

Important Race Note: I spent the last hour trying my darndest to find more info on “Star Wars” Drell. Freaking Mass Effect used the name too. I have one book with the Drell race in it and it describes them as opposites of Mass Effects Drell. Rather than have confusion I decided to remove Drell from the list of playable species.

Also I am not sure what all the martial arts styles are about. The book doesn’t have any of those listed…..unless I am just not finding it. Does anyone know what page those are on?

I like the concepts found on this thread already. Some good ones for this part of the story.

This recruitment will end next Friday. At the rate this recruitment is going I may need to make some serious changes. The Rebellion thread is hurting for recruits and if I don't get what I need I will have to overhaul the story a tad..... actually a lot. Not so much the story but the role you all will play in it.

One last thing, no aliases please.

Other way around Shanosuke humans were trained by the Mandelorians. First Mandelorians were these lizard guys lead by the first Mandalore where the race got their name from. Found that out the other day reading up stuff. The martial arts are real ones if there are ones in the book I did not see them.

What did I say about getting Geeky on me? The Mandelorians of the era are human. I prefer not to complicate things further. Also, I know those styles are real but the question is, how do you plan to play them out in the game and where did you learn them? I'd prefer to keep martial arts in Star Wars to Teras Kasai(?) It is supposedly a universal Star Wars Martial Art.

Did you take a look at the link that I used in my previous post?

Yes I did. That was a weird sight that added Mass Effects Drell to the Star Wars Universe. I wasn't about to use that as a source. For one thing, there is already a different style of Drell in the Star Wars universe, the Drell I am referring to are not amphibious. Nor are they Reptilian and to my official knowledge, there is no third sentient race sharing Mon Calamari with the Calamari and Quarren. That article doesn't fit into my Star Wars world so go.

Now I do want to go on record saying that I have made up a couple of species and worlds and have added them to the Star Wars universe. That said I'd prefer not to use anyone else material unless it was officially published and refers to pre galactic civil war area but not before the republic.

Xzarf here.

Not a problem Shanosuke, I changed him to Duros and it works out fine.
I have the character sheet pretty much done. Need to work background etc.

If you can find a pdf for the Ultimate Alien Anthology, that has the stats for the other races, though I don't believe it has Mandolorian.

Really makes no difference, I just wanted to do some description/fluff

We can call it Mandelorian weaponless way.....

....up to you what we call it! ;)

game mechanics (crunch) wise martial art feat only raises unarmed damage to 1d4
allows a critical on a 20
and lets you attack armed opponenets without an Attack of opportunity

What planet does Zadora reside on? My plan is to have my character raised on that world.

Shanosuke: Character background, motivations, description and personality are now posted on the character sheet. Take a look through and let me know what you think.

Zadora resides on Desseir though that is not where you all will be spending most of your time. It is his base of operations.

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6x500 = 3000 credits

Ellor should be done and ready to go.

Recruitment ends this Friday. We will go over character building rules then.

This sentence confused me until I went back and read through the entire first post rather than just glancing over it and getting excited enough to make a character.

I am hoping that my breaking the rules and making a guy doesn't affect my chances of getting in. I did the same in the Empire thread.
Character=Yurvin Salki

At this point I wont be picky. Chances are you are all getting picked due to lack of recruits :(. Might've got more folks if I had the Saga edition but I haven't the money to buy it and I already had the revised edition. Also, don't worry about your builds. You my just have to change them. Part of the what I was worried most about was not being able to run all three threads. It's starting to look that way because the rebellion thread does not have enough recruits to run yet and closure is only a couple of days away. If I don't get at least one more rebel I may have to make a different proposal.

Even with the transfers from other threads? I can throw my chiss submission in the rebellion if that will help.

Possible to play in all 3 threads? I can submit to the rebels as well.

I may just allow you to play in all threads if you have the time to keep up with them. My work hours shorted and many of my games died so I got the time to run all three threads. It would spoiler some surprises but not that much. I'd allow different submissions to each thread if you guys like. That way we have full teams on all three threads.

I DM enough that keeping characters and what they know separate from each other is becoming second nature.
