Gurg, Not that other one... |

Elen casts Detect Poison.
There is no poison on or about him.
After several minutes, Gurg finally passes out on the ground. His left arm seems to just hang off his body as it finally falls limp. His other arm slides slowly off of his chest. His breathing is still erratic, but is now deeper. His good leg slides down and is flat against the ground, as is he now.

Father Death |

By now, several members of the Camp have come out to see what the commotion is all about, including the Usurer. But it is Father Death, along with his female acolyte, that comes up to you first, demanding to find out what is going on.
"Did someone die? Is anyone dead? Oh, it would be a great way to wake up, knowing that my Lord has received another to his ranks. It would be even better than a cup of kaffe."

Numair rouses himself from his meditations at the disturbance. He moves into the common room to see what is transpiring, but discovers it is merely the giant, Gurg, having some sort of attack. It seems similar to the earlier handiwork of the Harbinger, but the rest of the group seems quite thoroughly engaged in its diagnosis, and he trusts their competence.
He returns to his room and continues to meditate, preparing himself mentally and physically for the coming journey.

Ruul Spiritskin |
After making sure Gurg was out, Ruul stood up to address the growing crowd.
"There's been an accident. Gurg ruined his leg but we believe he will live. We could use help getting him back to his home... again."

Gurg, Not that other one... |

With Ruul's prompting, people move to try and lift the giant. At this point, he is dead weight. Even with the help of Mama Grim and her goblin bears (and the prodigious use of ropes), they are only able to budge him. It takes the better part of an hour, and a sizable portion of the Camp's inhabitants, to move Gurg most of the way towards his tent.
Gurg begins to regain conciousness, which disappoints Father Death to no end. "Juliet, go fetch me a cup of kaffe, this might take awhile," the goblin says grudgingly. He climbs up onto the hill giant's face, to hear him properly, as Gurg is trying to speak, but in such low tones, it's hard to tell if he is really talking.
"What happened? One sun, I was talking to the upright candy, and the 'ext, I was on the cow and I had hurt my thimble something fierce." A second later, he says, "What did I just rattle?" Gurg appears very confused, and tired at this point.

Ruul Spiritskin |
Ruul's breakfast went all but untouched as he worried over Lavinia's preparations - a rare sight for the often hungry minotaur.
"Prepare a Sending every morning and update us on your progress", he said. "I will pray to the Lord of Magic for your safety."
The minotaur untied the cord around his massive neck and lifted the wayfinder buried in his chest fur away. He quickly tied it around the pale priestess.
He leaned in and spoke in a soft rumble.
"Take my Wayfinder. It's attuned to a Golemworks in Oenopion. If you should be in great danger, activate it and it will transport you there."
Ruul leaned in to embrace his paramour once more before glancing towards Numair.
"Keep her safe."

Lavinia embraces Ruul in return, resisting the urge to refuse his wayfinder. She knew it would do no good and it would only cause him to worry even more about her.
"Thank you Ruul. I promise to be as careful as I can and use this if it is absolutely necessary. Please take of yourself as well. Do not be overcome by concern for me and let your own welfare suffer."

There are mixed feelings in the half-Orc mind as they move away - he longs for the outdoors, but he has his own reservations regarding the ones staying back, for all the foul play he has seen at The Camp the past few days.
He nods to Macavity as they leave, then sets his focus on the task at hand.

Ruul Spiritskin |
After the away team has faded into the distance, Ruul glanced at the remaining Pathfinders - Kal, Elen, and Macavity.
"There's a lot of work that remains to be done if we're going to use this place as a base of operations when we venture into Tsar. The Benderhouse will need to be expanded and fortified and we will need an open line back to the Grand Lodge."
"Elen, can you find out who in the camp could do the work? I'm going to try setting up the 'Box' the Venture Captain sent with us."

Lord Manticore |

Will you be asking for Macavity's help in setting up the 'box'?

Lord Manticore |

Relatively simple. I only ask because it's your first time assembling it. I figured you didn't want to hear from the peanut gallery when it you put it together, it looks nothing like what the picture shows on the box, and your holding a couple of extra screws...:P

Ruul Spiritskin |
Oh god. It's an Ikea magic item.
Sure. Having a rogue-like along for complicated magical machinery is probably a good idea.

Ruul Spiritskin |
The minotaur rumbled as he considered the offer.
"That may be for the best. I know a good deal about trinkets but I have never worked with an item like this. More eyes could not hurt."

Ruul Spiritskin |
Inside the biggest room in the Benderhouse for now.
"So far so good...", Ruul rumbled as the device began to come together.

Lord Manticore |

You are able to assemble the device on the floor. It is round in shape and made of either iron or steel. The device is slightly raised from the ground, perhaps a couple of inches. There is some kind of button in the middle, with a green light that (according to Simon) indicates it is ready for use.

Ruul Spiritskin |
Ruul rubbed his bovine jaw while he considered the device.
"There is the matter of confirming that it works properly..."
"How would you feel about visiting the Venture Captain?" the minotaur asked. "If it does work, it will need time before it can be used again but it seems important to know that it functions as we need it to should an emergency come up."

Ruul Spiritskin |
Actually, per Simon, there is enough of a charge to get a person there and back once before needing to re-charge.
I understood that part. I just meant that if we use it now to test it, we won't have it available to use should an actual emergency arise.

Ruul Spiritskin |
"Perhaps we could send Ally. She doesn't carry much. I'll check will her and Elen later to see how they feel about the idea."

Elen Emerwen |

Elen will go to Father Death, since she finds him less intimidating, mostly because of his size, and ask if he knows who can do construction work in the Camp.

Elen Emerwen |

If no metal can go through, what happens if you try to carry a bag of holding with something metal in it? Keeping in mind that a bag of holding is an extradimensional space so the metal actually never passes through the portal, what passes through is the entry to the extradimensional space.

Um...que paso, por favor?

Father Death |

Elen will go to Father Death, since she finds him less intimidating, mostly because of his size, and ask if he knows who can do construction work in the Camp.
You find Father Death in his sanctuary, pouring over some books and drinking something steaming out of a large mug. He looks up and smiles at you. You notice that he is not trying to show you his rather sharp teeth.
"Ah, good day to you, madame witch. How can I help you on this fine, somewhat blessed day. Do you need any help committing to a suicide or anything like that?"

Ruul Spiritskin |
Ruul glanced at his hooded companion.
"Well we've done everything we can with the Box for now. Testing it will have to wait until we can talk to Elen and Ally this evening."
The minotaur rumbled with the thought and rubbed his bovine jaw.
"The hag, Grimm, seemed to take a liking to you. She would be a valuable ally, especially if we have another conflict with the Ursurer. Would you be able to pay her a visit and see if there's anything she might need help with?"
Ruul snorted and pointed towards the tavern.
"I will meet with Lucky and his patrons again. Perhaps I can learn more now that it's midday."

Lord Manticore |

Elen wants to know if we can go through the portal carrying all our metal gear in a haversack/bag of holding and wearing pajamas. Like flying.
Oh, I get it. No it's more like a telport platform, ala Star Trek. She can take her stuff with her. Bags of holding won't be a problem.

Macavity the black |

Macavity shrugs in reply to Ruul. "I got the impression she's here to avoid conflict. I think I would need something for her or from her to go see her again. I don't think she wants or needs any new friends. Do you have any ideas?"
So Macavity could load all his metal gear into his haversack and then use the portal? When he arrives he can gear up again?

Ruul Spiritskin |
"We have a few trinkets we could offer but beings like her are usually more interested in favors and debts than actual wealth. I suggest offering your/our aid for now and see if she needs help with anything."
"If our relationship with the Ursurer continues to worsen, and he is a lich as Azaruant believes, her help could mean a great deal."

Lord Manticore |

Macavity shrugs in reply to Ruul. "I got the impression she's here to avoid conflict. I think I would need something for her or from her to go see her again. I don't think she wants or needs any new friends. Do you have any ideas?"

You don't even have to do that. Just wear your equipment, it should be fine.

"I was thinking the second Wealday of next week for that one." She winks. "Actually, Father, I was thinking that as this small community's spiritual leader, you must know everyone. Who would you recommend for construction work? Since we've come into possession of the Benderhouse, essentially by right of conquest, we need to rebuild it into a base of operations for our expedition."
Perception to smell what's in the mug: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20

Lord Manticore |

What happened to the no metal requirement then?
*facepalm* I totally forgot that. Yes, you can place metal items into an extradimensional space and t-port that way. Anything non-metal can be worn on the body as normal.

I'll need a couple more hours to think your question over before I answer in character. As to your Perception check, it is kaffe, with a little bit of goat's milk for cream.
