"You gonna live?" Max asks of his wounded teammate. As he listens for a reply, he takes the weapons off the former sniper (leaving the armor, dunno how long it takes to take that off but i imagine we are in a hurry) and picks the sniper's body up, throwing him out the window from which he was shooting, though to the side so he doesn't land on the sniper rifle he threw out.

Power, unable to be either helped by first aid, or helpful in his conditions, gets up, painfully, and says, "If anyone needs me, I'll be in the car, passed out. If we could take an hour before the next run, that'd be great."

Power limps to the passenger seat and flops into the chair. The hip flask comes out and brown liquid rolls down his throat, its soothing burn temporarily relieving the skull-numbing pain. He soon starts dozing.

If I can at least clear my Stun, I might be less than useless...if we choose to keep going. =)

ok so i have Logic 3, Power has Logic 6. so he would be the better choice for this roll, actually. But if I can't first-aid him to usefulness (i don't know, can i?) then i guess i have to see how badly i can f*@# this up. I mostly worry because with only two dice it is so easy to get a 1 with no way to fix it

When Power entered the car he was at -4 from injury. With cleared Stun, he'd still be at -3, and on an even footing with you. =) Also, he might still be a little drunk, so there's that.

Liam already magically healed me on account of my slight case of death, so now I can't get First aid. Wrong order. You can magic after first aid, but you can't first aid after magic. :((

Do wound modifiers count on Heal tests? I assume so, but I can see someone getting stun-locked if they have low Body&Will, and a lot of damage.

Power rouses himself from his pain and booze-inspired catnap feeling much refreshed. His body still feels like like a discount soy dog at a Stuffer Shack, but the fog that had enveloped his mind is mostly lifted.

Rankev, his head still firmly on the headrest for lack of energy to move, blinks at Max's suggestion. Sure, he'd been able to play the office politics well enough, enough to convince those above him to maintain his employment, and those below him from actively plotting his assassination, but to take the lead in negotiating? Um.... Power gets on the comm. "Uh, negative, negative, Team Leader. Some of our units are down from that last mission. We've got medical needs and expenses stat. He just barely stops himself from using the word 'paradigm'.

i say lab, because we don't want to haul the girl through the lab, or swing her out of the CZ to drop her off before coming back to the lab, unless folks plan on healing up outside the CZ (not necessarily a bad idea if it is feasible). what does everyone else think?

By now, you’re almost accustomed to driving in the wind and snow. At least it beats walking any distance in a Chicago winter.

As you approach 1501 North Greenview Avenue, you see a right-triangular brick building lined with boarded up windows. The building is dark. It looks like it might have been a school in a previous life, but now it bears the word JANUS in some techie-looking letters above the barricaded glass doors in front. At the southeast corner of the building, a lone door lies open, hanging precariously from one hinge and pinned open by a snowdrift

As you approach the largest room in the basement, you see a dead dwarf in a lab coat lying in the open doorway, his head cocked at a decidedly unpleasant angle. Two human corpses lie just inside the doorway, one wearing an armor jacket with the Janus Industries logo.

The rest of this room jumps right out of the sci-fi horror trids at you. Twelve cloning tanks line the room, eleven containing identical dark-haired human females, all in suspended animation. The twelfth tank is open and some of its fluids are spilled across the floor. As you tear your eyes from the tanks, they land at one of the tables, upon which lies a scalpel, an open medkit, a commlink, and a small medical implant device, all covered in dried blood. Something bad happened here.
