oops, I forgot I had put a rank in that.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6
Stonewall tries look intimidating beside Achahut but his intimidating stare is ruined by his itchy, watery eye which he continually scratches and completely distracts him.
Alset Kirk
Alset attempts to diplomatically help Achahut convince Shathva to move the lizardfolk. "I believe that we can make sure that the remaining lizardfolk will have a place that is there own, but we must remove Durathek or remove these powers from him and return him to a reasonable leader."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 2 = 24
GM Mervikoth
Shathva nods at Ood. "Wise words, monk. Perhaps I am giving too much credit to childhood memories. I should view this from a pragmatic, military endeavor; and Daruthek is not an asset."
She pulls out dirty fur from beneath her feet and hands it to Stonewall. "Ah, so it is true; softskins leak water from their eyes. Poor thing; to be so big, and yet be so fragile... One of the many advantages of being a reptile is that not only do we shed no ocean water when we are frightened, giving away our feelings, but we also have a double set of eyelids to allow us to see under any kind of water." She flicks her eyelids closed and shut.
Straightening up at Alset's words, the chieftain sets her shoulders back and looks into the distance. "A place of our own. That is what we need. I will accept your promise," she says, extending a hand to the paladin.
"Now, I believe Achahut has one more thing to say..."
GM Mervikoth
Yes. We need one more roll.
GM Mervikoth
Sorry, I'm being too strict in adherence to the rules, rather than the spirit of FUN. I've been a little off my game lately and I apologize.
3,600 XP.
Shathva stands and hisses, a sign of joy in lizardfolk culture.
"Well boys, you've convinced me. We will stand down and let you do the dirty work of ridding this plane of Daruthek. My guards will no longer bar your passage, but I will not abandon the site quite yet. In reward for your compassion, honesty, and extreme muscles, I will give you my Boots of Elvenkind and my greatclub Spiritbreaker (a +1 ghost-touch greatclub), to seal our treaty. After this temple is clear, we will take up your offer to help us find a place of our own."
She reaches under a collection of smaller trophies and pulls out a jade seal. "This seal will help you open one of the doors inside. You will need another, but I don't know where it's other half is. Good luck."
She stands and flicks her tongue out, bowing in deference to you.
The temple is yours to explore.
Alset Kirk
Yes. We need one more roll.
Well, now we're all very curious about what Achahut should have rolled for and discovered. I'm guessing that Shathva's comments reveal the most important parts.
"Let's explore the temple and rid the world Daruthek."

"Let's explore the temple and rid the world Daruthek."
It's just that you technically needed 5 successes and you only had four.
The four entrances to the temple are now marked with bright red arrows. You can also climb on top as Ood wanted to do before.
DM Ithe
There’s a wall east of our position right? If so...
Stonewall asks, ”Are there any more Lizardfolk in the temple that are more loyal to you? How do we recognize them? *Answer* OK, let’s do this.”
Stonewall moves to go in through the gap in the wall to the north of Shathva’s hut and head east into the temple. He holds his gleaming Tower Shield in one hand and his huge axe in the other as he leads the others.
Ood Ironforged
Glad to know I'm not the only one having trouble, Stonewall.
"Onward."
Ood Follows Stonewall, but more sneakily.
sneak: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
GM Mervikoth
"The greatclub will signify my approval of your presence. Wield it mightily!" she says.
The hallway opens up to the north into four rooms off of a hall. To the east is a large, open space with a fountain in the center of the room.
Kargold "Stonewall"Steelpounder
Stonewall shows no interest in the boots or club but will wait while anyone who is grabs them.
Achahut the Reborn
"Let's check out these smaller rooms first! Also, boots aren't really my thing, but I'll take this amazing club if Alset doesn't want it!"
GM Mervikoth
As you go down the northern hallway, you hear a voice call out from the room on your left.
"Mewling yolk-suckers! Yes, you! Come take your chance to personally wrestle the reigning champion of the Mireborn fighting pits!"
In the room is a pool of thick mud where the lizardfolk have torn up the glagstone floor. Torn cloth and leather flags of varying colors decorate the walls, each held in place with a metal spike embedded in the stone. In the center of the pit is a massive lizardfolk, bigger than Stonewall, but old and graying throughout his scales. His eyes have cataracts but his muscles are still quite sinewy.
Kargold "Stonewall"Steelpounder
Stonewall walks into the room and sees the aging but still impressive Lizardfolk and says, ”What possible reason would we have to wrestle you? We don’t have time for yhat, we’re looking for Daruthek.”. Stonewall moves to leave the room and continue the search.
GM Mervikoth
"I have a pretty belt you might want," he says. He holds up a Belt of Giant Strength +2. "I'll even let you use whatever magical items or spells you need to ease your disadvantage, ha ha ha!"
Ood Ironforged
SM: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
To the mudites, "We'll are we on a timeframe, it appears he's just looking for sport."
He looks like a worthy foe, and probably experienced to be so large.
Alset Kirk
I miss Odie, he wouldn't have hesitated or spoken a word. He would just charged in and flailed away until one of them was unconscious.
Alset says, "I wonder what this giant is wanting?"
Sense Motive: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
Not only does Alset not know what the giant lizardfolk is thinking, he doesn't even know what he's thinking himself.
Kargold "Stonewall"Steelpounder
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
"Ah, you are a formidable opponent, I can't wrestle you right now though, it takes to long to get in and out of my armor and I wouldn't want to hurt you on accident with my armor spikes. We could take a moment or 2 if one of you want to give it a go though."
Ood Ironforged
"Alright, let's have a go."
Ood approches with a calm focus...
initiative: 1d2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
And probably lets the large lizard take the first swing.
Ood Ironforged
does his size qualify him for giant? :) flag or no flag? the following rolls are flagless, adjust by 1 as needed
round 1b
hp 42/42
shaking off the blow inflicted by the champion pit fighter, Ood strikes back.

GM Mervikoth
"I'll let you keep your armor on, you'll need it against me, ha ha! Oh, it'll be the small one then? Bring it on!"
Initiative: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1
*Slaps forehead*
Ood gets the jump on the lizardfolk, in both senses of the word, and lands two punches.
Fort vs. Fatigue, right?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
The lizardfolk stumbled on his feet, his shoulders drooping. "A mighty fine blow... mighty fine... but you must PIN to WIN!"
Grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 161d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
"Hmm, that could have gone better..."
Round Whatever; AC 16, CMD 17; fatigued (-2 Str, -2 Dex)
Mud raises his flag and says, "Cook 'em, Ood! Boiled or stewed! Show this dude that he is screwed!" +1 to attack/damage.
Ood Ironforged
Round 2
Improved grapple: +2 for grapples and against being grappled
CMB vs grapple after feat: 28
“My apologies, I missed the name of the game, if I must pin to win, then I’ll have a go at it. Win or lose, you may want to take a rest after this bout. I am Ood Ironforged, what shall I call you?”
Ood attempts to grapple the large foe.
grapple: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 2 = 25
any penalties for a size larger? For some reason I thought there was but I was unable to find anything.
Kargold "Stonewall"Steelpounder
boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew
Stonewall watches the fight with intense interest, not having had a chance to really watch Ood fight. "Bring him down Ood! Says Stonewall as he bangs the flat of his axe on his shield.
GM Mervikoth
The penalty is already factored into his CMD.
"They... call.. me..." he says, and he tries to twist your arms around and put himself in the dominant grappler position.
Grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
"Krimkra the Cracking Claw!" Krimkra is now controlling the grapple. You can reverse it back again with a succesful grapple check.
Ood Ironforged
Ood struggles under Krinkra’s mass attempting to apply leverage in just the right way to take control.
control grapple: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 2 = 23
“Pleased to meet you,” as he leverages him back into a hold.
GM Mervikoth
Grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
"Accursed arthritis..."
Ood is up, and has control.
"Give him the dragon suplex!" Mud says.
GM Mervikoth
1200 XP
Krimkra the Claw slams his free hand down on the floor. "Uncle! Uncle! You win," he says.
When Ood frees him, he stands up and rubs his shoulders. "Ha ha, that was fun, wasn't it? No Mireborn has beaten me since Shathva defeated me years ago."
He holds the belt over his head and raises one of Oo's arms. "Dun dunna dun dunna dun! A new champion!" He tightens the belt around Ood.
"I'd offer you help with Shathva, but it seems you've already spoken with her. Fight well out there!"
Ood Ironforged
Ood releases his gold as soon as the large lizard relents. ”A fine prize, I will use it well. Thank you.”
Ood nods to his companions and steps lightly behind stonewall.
stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
GM Mervikoth
There are three more rooms in this northwest alcove.
Kargold "Stonewall"Steelpounder
We now have enough XP for Mud to advance to level 4!
At the conclusion of the wrestling match, Stonewall complements Ood on his grappling prowess. To Krimkra he asks, "You may yet be able to help us, do you know where Daruthek is? We have a matter to settle with him.
At the conclusion of this, Stonewall moves to check the other rooms in this wing of the temple. Stonewall first checks M11
GM Mervikoth
"Daruthek? He's down below. Performing some profane ritual or other. He's been doing it for weeks though, I wouldn't worry about it."
Stonewall finds a chamber divided by a partition that juts out from the western wall, leaving a ten-foot entryway to the lower half of the room. Large mounds of dirt rise from overturned flagstones, and scattered piles of rotting animal fur and broken tools cover the remaining floor. The whole room stinks of refuse. Two long-handled nets lean the doorway. The entire room is rough terrain from the garbage.
From the garbage pile a writhing mass of legs comes to life, a hundred centipedes swarming toward you.
Achahut: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Alset: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Ood: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Stonewall: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Mud: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Centipede Swarm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
The centipedes swarm Stonewall, an undulating mass working its way under his armor and into his beard.
Swarm attack: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
Poison Fort DC 15: 1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 3 = 12
Distraction DC 15: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Stonewall takes 6 damage, is Nauseated (can only take a move action), but is not poisoned.
Mud lights his lamp oil and tosses it at the centipedes.
Oil: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 231d6 ⇒ 5
Stonewall takes 1 splash damage.
Round 1, AC 18, immune to weapon damage, 25/31 HP
Party is up.
Ood Ironforged
Round 1
Ood throws a jar of acid at the critters not knowing what else might harm them.
acid jar: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 191d6 ⇒ 4
stonewall takes another 1 spash damage? critters take 4 more
GM Mervikoth
Round 1, TOUCH AC 18, 21/31 HP
It takes 4, Stonewall takes 1 splash, correct
Kargold "Stonewall"Steelpounder
Round 1 | HP 35/43 | Nauseated (for how long?)
Stonewall reels away from the centipedes droping his axe and swiping with his hand at the disgusting creatures as he heaves and gags. In addition, he is splattered with little droplets of acid and burning oil. 5 foot step back into the hall. Stonewall chokes out, "Kill them! Burn them!"
Achahut the Reborn
Round 1
HP: 58/58
Achahut pulls out her club and starts wacking at the bugs, ineffectually.
"Smash the bugs! Why isn't this helping?!"
Your "into his beard" comment really got me and grossed me out, thanks...
Alset Kirk
Round 1 | HP 43/43 | 3/3 Alchemist Fire Flasks | 1/1 Acid Flask
Alset yells, "Look out!" and tosses a flask of alchemist's fire on the creepy crawlies.
Attack | Alchemist's Fire: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
The fire does its thing.
Damage | AF: 1d6 ⇒ 3
GM Mervikoth
I forgot about Mud! He should have taken 6 damage as well last time. I'll say he "succeeded" both his saves last time, but autofails them both this time. He also takes 2 splash like Stonewall. Mud 10/18 HP
Round 2, 18/31 HP
The centipedes roll over Stonewall and Mud again.
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Poison DC 15 Fort: 1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 3 = 27
Distraction DC 15 Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Mud Dex damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Stonewall and Mud take 5 more damage. Mud is nauseated and takes 4 Dex damage.
Mud waves a feeble hand at the centipedes that are as big as his arm. "Kill... it... with... fire..." +1 attack/damage from freebooters bane (It's only a move action, yay!).
Buffs: +2 attack/damage
Round 2, touch AC 18, 18/31 HP
Kargold "Stonewall"Steelpounder
Round 2 | HP 30/43
Stonewall moves away from the Swarm, drawing a potion and gives it to Mud as he says, "No Mud, you'll be ok!
Potion of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Ood Ironforged
Ood lobs another acid flask at the bugs, and says, "Too bad we don't have a door to shut this time!"
acid flask: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 2 = 211d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
