Dern is a highly compassionate interrogator.

I mean, nothing says "fantasy sci-fi roleplaying" like racking my brain trying to remember things I learned from a couple sessions of corporate leadership training.

Still feels weird *not* being the guy playing the psychopath.

It's good practice.

Upon re-reading, realized that I'd left sections of my character sheet blank for several years. I was able to fill them in using parts of a fanfic I'll likely never actually write:

You, of course.

For me, it's bad practice.

Also, our fearless leader is in St. Thomas at a family reunion for a while, so we may be on a little hiatus.

Updated. Sorry for the delay.

You were soaking up the sun and enjoying drinks with tiny umbrellas. It is understandable.

I have all four games on one machine now and have restarted Space Road Truckers to get a comprehensive playthrough.

Geez, they start right out with the Cerberus bashing. I find it interesting that Spectres are essentially individual versions of Cerberus - they live outside the law and do what they think is right. One is the hero, one the villain. Hmmm.

Apologies for the delay in posting, I re-read FHDM's last post, and realized I'd missed something really important. I think my reading comprehension's taken a dive as of late.

Not that that's stopped me from posting before...

Oh, sure, bud, I get it. I mean, look at me... you wouldn't believe the number of people who think I'm the bad guy. What a load of nuts. I mean, seriously. As far as that goes, at any rate. Hey, that reminds me, I've got a good one for you... why did the secret agent cross the road? Oh, come on, you'll never believe this one... he didn't--he was never on your side to begin with. Get it? Eh? I got it.

I'll take your word for it, blue lady. I mean, the last blue lady I heard about turned out to be the Shadow Broker and helped kill all of those purple space squid things, so there must be something to it.

OK, OK, sheesh... I don't cross nobody, especially anyone who can make my head a splode just by thinking about it. Hey, though... maybe the scruffy-looking guy in the little square picture with the dumb shirt and the stupid haircut has a point. You know anything about this whole Shadow Broker thing? I feel like we could get in on that action. It sounds like one heckin' heck of a racket. Whadd'ya say... partners? Let's go broke some shadows. Eh? How 'bout it?

I mean, there's no possible way this could go wrong. What are they going to do, flay me alive with their mind? Crazy talk...

Who's scruffy-looking?

You know, a good buddy of mine told me a story earlier. So there's these five guys, and they walk into a bar. You'd think one of them would have seen it, but nope.

I couldn't help but hear some noises while you were standing there, slack-jawed. I think they might have been coming from your face, but I'm not so sure they weren't coming from somewhere else...

This is getting out of hand... I swear, this nutcase makes me feel like I'm arguing with myself.

Life sentence in a dungeon? Fair. Pressed into a suicide squad? Fair. Listening to Eddin’s jokes? Cruel and unusual punishment.

Probably going to be AWOL for a couple of days due to weather; I will let you know when I'm back around.

Saw the trailer, pretty much what I expected. I am pleased that they're including the extra content from the collector's edition, though. I've never been in a mood to pay over a hundred dollars for a couple of weapons and hoodie, even if you get an art book with it.

Also, I'm really hoping (though not particularly optimistic) that they integrate all of the DLC gear drops into gameplay instead of just dumping it all into your locker right out of the gate.

I am sharpening pitchforks over the loss of pinnacle station.

Sharpening.

Pitchforks.

Am weird about the ass effect thing.

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

I never got to play Pinnacle Station to begin with, since I’m on PlayStation.

I'm not really bugged about either. Pinnacle Station was OK, but didn't really have any effect on the plot, and with the loss of the original code, I can easily see why they couldn't justify the expense & time investment of rebuilding it from scratch.

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

I’m really excited to see what ME1 looks like. The graphics from the original are quite dated, and I’m a whore for good resolution.

Also, it sounds like there is a unified character creator. I never bothered with the original character creator, because any custom Shepard appearance (apart from the handful of presets) looked like garbage in ME1, and I couldn’t stand Shepard suddenly looking different in ME2 or ME3 from how he looked in ME1. Having a Shep who doesn’t look like the dude on the box could be an interesting change of pace.

Apologies for slow posting-- I've been getting called into work at weird hours, and as of right now, my brain is basically sludge.

It happens. I think we're going at a slower pace anyway.

I was hoping Lord Synos would chime in. I think he popped up for the headcount, but hasn't posted in game.

Just need a quick refresh-- do the rest of the characters know about the AI? If so, how much?

I don't know if we've ever established that.

Doesn't matter to me, character-wise.

Alright, after several days of brainstorming and reading, it's the best I've got. A little hard to judge, given that while this is something my character is, on paper, good at, in real life, I'm absolutely awful at it.

Sign up for a Mass Effect game, end up studying for some straight-up serious Jocko Willink -level leadership training...

RPGs train us for all sorts of life skills we never knew we would need. Gaming is awesome that way.

Alternatively, you could play a character that strolls into a tense conversation singing W.A.P.

That's definitely more in line with the characters I usually play in PbPs.

I'm a warpriest in another game, which HeroLab abbreviates WaP. I'm now reconsidering my life choices.

Totally unrelated to anything, but I was today years old when I realized that Kumail Nanjiani from Portlandia plays Director Tann in Mass Effect: Andromeda. I have no idea why I never put two and two together before-- they didn't even really put any effects over his voice.

I've got to ask-- if 2002-2075 are the "early years," how long, exactly, did Mr. Jackson (b. 1975) live in this timeline? Is he part asari? Wait, no, don't answer that...
