"No no no, bad ship bad ship, I help fix!" Twitch screamed as the fire retardant sprayed out. He was able to dodge out of the way by rolling off of D3-K0, but the droid got the full spray in the face. Catching his breath, he looked around the icy room with a frown. Skittering quickly over the slippery surface, he rushed towards the nearest computer to attempt to activate it and fix any computer problems. "Yes yes, fix ship, make better! D3-K0, watch for security!"

Blake attempts to leap over the pool of foam but misjudges the distance and lands at the far end of the fire suppressant.
"Error!" he exclaims as he tries to correct his trajectory.
Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
He somehow manages to not land face-first in the fire suppressant. The android slowly slides his way over to the computer terminal and attempts to access the basic functions.

After getting through the fire retardant issue, and carefully moving through the freezing cold and icy room. Twich and Blake inspect the computers and control panels... noticing something odd. It's almost as if someone was randomly flipping switches and turning nobs. Everything is set in disarray. Noticing the thermostat set to extremely low levels, they're easily able to set it to normal room temperature.
It'll be awhile before the room warms up and the icy conditions subside though.
That's just this terminal though. There's other controls in the room, and more things in disarray...
There's still the four large containment capsules three of which hold stasis-locked objects, including a tablet, a strange curved sword, and an odd spiral of bioluminescent coral.
A crack leaks fluid from the fourth capsule, which displays a foot-wide breach near the bottom.
Phantom-6 |
Six crosses the room slowly, careful not to slip on the ice. She inspects the shipping containers, checking for any sort of manifest or shipping log. Ig none turns up, she will focus her attention on the broken crate.
Twitch Bigcheeks |
With the room temperature rising, Twitch turned his attention to the leaking container. Moving over carefully, he reached into his belt pouch and pulled out various tools. Selecting the right tools, he set about fixing the leak.
Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Would my Custom Rig ability, as it functions as both computer tools and an engineering kit, work to repair something like this?
Blake-03 |
Blake slowly walks over to the leaking container and examines the fluid trail. "Something escaped," he considers, "Or the children took something with them."
DMRhino |
Twitch sees that the cracked stasis chamber is going to take more equipment than he has available at the moment. Using his kit he is able to stop any further leaking.
Six discovers no more information about the products in the in-tact chambers.
The others, inspecting the broken stasis chamber see a trail of wet lading away from it.

"Stopped leak, not good job, yes yes," Twitch muttered as stopped for a minute to think things through. [B]"Yes yes, cameras see all! Must bring up camera vids, yes yes yes!"[b] Moving over to one of the other computers, he furiously started typing away, trying to find the correct root menu.
Blake-03 |
Blake extends his tactical baton and taps the unusually located conduit box. "What odd engineering is this?"
DMRhino |
As soon as Blake makes contact with the "outlet," there's a shrill squeal as it morphs into a creature, about the size of a small cat or kitten. It's six arms or legs shoot out to the side as it falls to the table, running off on its two hind appendages, its four upper appendages waving wildly. The creature, now that it's not a cream colored electrical device, has mostly yellowish leathery skill with some light brown and grey,, wet looking, with six, maybe more, beady orange eyes. Its comparatively large mouth is open as it continues to wail, long flappy ears trailing behind it. Small horns, or knobby bits of some sort run to either side of where you'd expect a spine to be.
It darts across the table, and under the next, knocking paraphernalia all about. The lights flicker, and the creature is nowhere to be seen. A drip of slime runs down the side of the monitor where it was concealed.
Shamshir Maah |
"No laughing now! What was this creature?!?"
Shamshir draws his longsword and is ready for an attack.
Blake-03 |
"I do not know," Blake answers. "We should catch it so the proper technicians can return it to the stasis unit."
Phantom-6 |
"Whatever it was, it looked afraid." Six creeps cautiously towards the last place she saw the creature, searching for any signs of where it went.

Blake cocks his head to the side at the lashunta's reaction. Shrugging it off, he begins to ever so slowly approach the coffee thermos on the side of the wall.

Blake, ever so carefully and quietly, approaches the thermos... when he's close enough, he quickly reaches out. The creature squeals again, arms and legs shooting out to the side as it transforms from a thermos back into the multi leg-armed creature. It starts to scurry away, but Blake get's ahold of it with a lighting quick snatch.
It thrashes about for a bit, then settles down. Its many eyes, five in total, closed tightly at first, take turns peeking at its surroundings. When one notices Blake looking it snaps shut, only to have another eye slowly peek open moments later.
Twitch Bigcheeks |
Moving closer to the no-longer-struggling creature, Twitch took a closer look at it. "Obviously some kind of shapechanger, yes yes, though not heard of one that could properly mimic inanimate objects," he said thoughtfully as he looked it over. "This is not in database, though ashamed to admit that I lost several files when someone-" He stopped to glare over that the somehow sheepishly looking four-legged droid before continuing. How a droid could do that with no proper face or really any body language is hard to tell. "-decided to spill fresh caf all over my computer. Recommend keeping a hold of it until a proper containment apparatus can be built. Yes yes yes!"
Phantom-6 |
"How about one of those?" Six points her thumb towards the still intact storage crates. "Either way, unless this thing eats tech, I doubt it's the cause of the outage. We should finish checking this deck."
Blake-03 |
"Please do not frighten it while I am holding it," Blake requests. "Do not be afraid little metamorph. We will get you somewhere safe."

As the party try to communicate with the creature, Phantom notices that, where the creature last was, on the monitor, that dials and and switches are all out of wack, like something was messing with them. Glancing around the room, anywhere there's something that could be messed with, IS messed with. He surmises that the creature has curiously been futzing with everything it could get its little claws on. It likely IS the cause of the problems on this floor.
It tilts its head, gazing at Blake, clearly curious as to what he has to say...
