Patricie |

Patricie touches Trilby gingerly on the arm, saying something in druidic, and readies her crossbow. It's clear she doesn't want to fight, but Trilby's growl and stance makes it also clear that she doesn't intend to lose should it come to that.
Casts a spell, draws crossbow, Trilby is given a command. All hold their position.

Ransaq |

@GM Im pretty sure the heroes are all just waiting to see what happens, and the villains are all stunned. Is it ok if I just post my actions for the next round or 2?

Garroth Seren |

Seeing Marcello attempt to bring his weapon to bear, Garroth reacted in an instant, having anticipated the mans response to his words. His sword whipping forth like a viper, catching Marcellos leg with the blades curved hook, sending him crashing to the ground.
Feel free to view Garroths spoiler, readied action to trip, with a roll of 25. The last action in a sequence of readied actions triggers first.

Melaphi Dasan |

Seeing Garroth step forward Melaphi cries out, "Garroth, no....". He growls in frustration as things look to be quickly getting out of hand.
Melaphi utters a few words and releases a spell at the warrior.
Marcello's attack triggers Melaphi's readied action to cast a spell.
Marcello needs to make a DC 15 will save vs fear in order to make his attack, else he is frightened for Duration: 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds and can take no actions except fleeing from Melaphi.
Successful save means Marcello is shaken for 1 round.
Cause fear

Ransaq |

Satisfied that all his new enemies are stunned and blind, and one of them lay on the ground, possibly frightened while simultaneously frozen in place, he decides to take payment for Sarcons ill intent before he leaves.
Ransaq uses the steal combat maneuver, which normally provokes an AoO, but since everyone is stunned, they are unable to take those AoO's. I used an ability called prescience that is allowing me to use a die roll of 16 for this, rather than making the roll. I get a +4 because Sargon in stunned, for a result of 20 vs his CMD of 18. I now have his sack of coin, assuming he never made a roll to hide it on himself. If that's the case let me know and ill make a perception check first. With my move action, I bend down and pick up his sword.
"If I had not acted Mel, I'd be bleeding from my back right now. Ill intent has consequences. When it's directed at me, I aim to enforce those consequences."
"They should be grateful. If we were as bloodthirsty as they, they'd be paying with their lives. I merely wish to disarm them."

Ransaq |

Actually Sarcon was re-blinded with Marcello for 4 rounds. And Victors right, I got one more of those left, lol. Don't worry, I'll learn some new tricks for next time. Mwa hahahaha!

Ransaq |

So 4 guards made it in what, 6 seconds from Crystal calling for help? That does not seem likely.
Also, I was cutting the straps on his pack and pilfering later.
EDIT* In fact, the PRD says it takes 1d6 minutes, about half way down the page, under Guards! Guards!

![]() |

Garroth's snake like strike towards Marcello's leg caught him by complete surprise as his eyes had jumped towards the elf that was running from behind Garroth.
As his leg got pulled away under him, his eyes got blinded by the light from the Elf's hands, the same thing that had happened earlier.
Will for Melaphi: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
The quick flash of something unspeakable went before his eyes and he blinked as his back hit the ground with his back, punching the air out of his lungs. Whatever happened had left Marcello blinded on the ground.
Of course I make that save .__.

DM-Kal |

I wouldn't say the "most populated", but it's certainly a central location. There are guards *around*. And Victor is correct, it was not Crystal's call that summoned them.
Sequence:
Melaphi's spell
Marcello's attack
Garroth's trip
If Marcello fails his save, the sequence is interrupted and suspended there (before his attack and Garroth's trip).

Garroth Seren |

The way I understand it, Garroth Trip does not rob Marcello of his attack, since he can still attack while prone. The -4 penalty for that still isnt enough to miss. However, should Marcello fail his save against Melaphis Fear spell, that WILL interupt him and cause him to lose his attack. Thats how I understand it anyway.

Ransaq |

That's true, but its still not enough time.
I'd like his gold and weapon as payment for trying to stab me in the back for not eating his beef jerky. By the rules, this is something I can accomplish. In reality, its something i could accomplish (assuming i stopped him by means other than magic). Besides, this is a PvP game. He should have expected it if he should have failed. You guys are lucky, I've a mind to rob you all, but Ransaq is suppose to be a good guy and can only justify robbing and disarming Sarcon.
The rules say it takes 1d6 minutes for them to arrive, which is perfectly reasonable.

![]() |

Feeling the contact the greatsword Marcello swung at Garroth, his face is consorted in a grim smile. The weird sword that the Half-Orc was wielding went down towards his leg, but then it lost all interest as the Elf ran back and closer towards Marcello.
Looking away for no more that a second, Marcello noticed 2 things. The first was that the Half-Orc had gone for his leg! The other was that the world suddenly turned black after a barrage of colors flew out from the elf's hands.
Will for Melaphi: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Something flashed in the darkness that followed the lights and all Marcello noticed was that the air got punched out of his lungs and that the ground was harder here than he had first thought.
Of course I make the goddamn save here .__.

Crystal Shalhoume |

Don't mean to beat a dead horse, Garroth, but your trip doesn't rob Marcello of anything, since his readied attack went off while you moved (since he saved vs Melaphi's spell). Your trip occurs after that point and before Ransaq's Color Spray.

Garroth Seren |

Garroths actions will depend entirely on how Ransaqs robbery plays out in regards to the guards. So gonna need to know if the guards are in any position to see him do it.

Garroth Seren |

Eying the guards and Ransaq, Garroth grunted, partly from the lousy situation that had escalated, partly from the oozing throbbing wound he had sustained. "Damn elf, we should have just talked this out with the guard...then again, this thug deserves it. Phah, "Friendship Jerky"!"
Moving past Ransaq to bodily block the guards view of the elfs larceny, he walked towards the guard, clutching his wound before dropping to the ground with a strained. "Guards!"

Ransaq |

So we are indeed ignoring the rules on arrival time for guards? That's kinda messed up because every action I took assumed we were playing by them as written.

![]() |

Just guessing that when any of us can move again... I mean, some of the earlier victims should be able to move now if you are using time to bicker, right? You are going to tell us when 12 seconds have passed and for me when 30 have passed.

Melaphi Dasan |

"Foolish? Like instigating a fight in a crowded town square foolish?" Melaphi retorts back.
"The man has a bloody falchion strapped on, and the most dangerous weapon you can think of to disarm first is his pack?"

Victor Ravenport |

Victor's eyes goes blank, his breath having gone heavier and heavier while under the effect of the spell. As soon as the effect is lifted, his pupils rolls back and with a heaving, dry cough spreads a fine layer over his chin. He fumbles around for his cane, the only thing keeping him stable due to his decrepit, aging and withering form.
He stumbles forward, falling over on the plaza square with his limps sticking out in weird, nearly deformed angles. His coughing fit continues, his breathing growing almost panicked as he fights to regain his breath, his mind being overcome with flashes of reality, light dancing before him as he regains his sight and bearings.
"Wh-... What did I do to deserve this?"

Ransaq |

"Which language do I need to tell you it was not me that instigated it in Mel? Nevermind, stand with you new friends."
Ransaq then throws the orc's bag away from him and looks to Victor. "I didnt know if your intent was to aid your friend here. I wasn't taking chances, but I did you no harm."
I'm not sure if its my turn again or not, but here's my action if so.
He then grabs for the orcs weapon but fails to lose it from its holster.
CMB: 1d20 ⇒ 5
EDIT* He waves the guards over as they approach.

![]() |

First you attack me then you try and steal my stuff! I guess being an elf is the same thing as being an ass!
Sarcon shouts at the elf as he swats away the hand trying to steal his sword, before going to grab his bag.
And you broke it too! Your buying me a new one.

Patricie |

Patricie touches Trilby gingerly on the arm, saying something in druidic, and readies her crossbow. It's clear she doesn't want to fight, but Trilby's growl and stance makes it also clear that she doesn't intend to lose should it come to that.
** spoiler omitted **

This was my action, are we on a new round that I missed?

DM-Kal |

A team of heroes stands arguing as a team of villains stands blinking, some regaining their senses before others. One elf in particular appears to be taking a backpack and trying to free a sword from one of the stunned fellows, who is apparently quite helpless to resist. As the guards approach, they tuck thumbs into belts and begin to assess the situation verbally. The four dwarves seem terribly smug about the whole situation.
Dwarf 1: "Well, what've we got here chums? Looks like troublemakers to me."
Dwarf 2: "We've had our eyes on you lot. Stirrin' up trouble 'round the Keep are ya?"
Dwarf 3: "Got a tip, we did. About a bunch of armed and armored fellows saunterin' on towards the ol' Finders' Keep like they was up to something."
Dwarf 4: "Then we see a bear walkin' through town like 'e thinks 'es a person."
Dwarf 2: "And if that wasn't bad enough, this metrosexual fella followin' around this old sack a bones."
Dwarf 1: "Droolin' metrosexual."
Dwarf 3: "Aye, droolin' metrosexual."
The dwarves all carry on for a bit, slapping each other's shoulders and laughing at each other's remarks. Meanwhile, the team of stunned adventurers come to, spouting tales of unprovoked assault, while the team of disputing adventurers seems to have trouble agreeing on a story. It's all very convincing, all very confusing, and all very contradictory. The dwarves look at each other for a moment, stern expressions displaying annoyance and indecision. About at that moment, two other dwarves approach, also dressed in guards' robes, but lacking the heavy armor and weaponry of the first four.
Dwarf 3: "Hey, it's Hork and Biron!"
Dwarf 6: "Biron and Hork ya mean."
Dwarf 1: "Two drunken sods 'e means."
Dwarf 4: "I could stand to be a drunken sod this dreadful morning, eh?"
Dwarf 2: "Now that's not a bad idea there Gixly, let's stop us by a tavern on the way back then eh?"
Dwarf 5: "Well what's all these fellows about then? Can't imagine they're standin' around to listen to you idiots."
Dwarf 1: "Seems some kind of mishap about elves and wizards and magic and knives."
Dwarf 4, gesturing at Garroth: "Sayin' this fellow fell on his own sword, the story I got."
Dwarf 2, before spitting: "Too much magic for me."
Dwarf 5, before spitting: "Too much elf for me."
Dwarf 3: "Not enough ale for me."
They all look at each other, nodding, shrugging and then one of them speaks.
Dwarf 6: "Let the captain sort it out?"
They all cheer before they begin gathering up adventurers, weapons, packs, and the like. They escort the adventurers to the southern lock-up where they put the teams into adjacent cells and levy a "fine" of 100gp to both teams. Where these monies go becomes evident as the two dwarves called Hork and Biron reappear an hour later with large casks and the six of them begin to get quite rowdy and drunk, sometimes laughing at the misery of the adventurers and other times shouting challenges and placing bets. The weekend passes in much the same way, until early Monday morning a different dwarf, apparently the captain, arrives and simply stares at the two parties for several minutes silently. "Get 'em out of here." he concludes before shuffling into a corner office and closing the door. The six guards look at each other and shrug, then release the parties from their cells and rather forcibly toss them into the street. "Now stay out of trouble!" the guards seem to generally agree before going back inside and starting back in on their general chatter.
Each team loses 100gp (divide it how you like) and loses the weekend. But of course, that just means you have another week to craft/work before your next great adventure! Report to your respective gameplay threads to hash out the aftermath, or stay here to continue bickering with the other team. You can even start another fight if you like!

DM-Kal |

I should have seen that one coming. Okay fine.
Drinking: DC 16 Fortitude - win/loss: 5gp (& sickened)
Belching: DC 15 Constitution - win/loss: 1gp
Darts: ranged attack vs AC 14 - win/loss: 3gp
Wrestling: combat maneuver vs CMD 16 - win/loss: 3gp

Crystal Shalhoume |

Crystal is quite sour after that whole episode, and says, "I'll bet you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with that dart, dwarf. Let's see your 3 gold and put it to the test!"

Crystal Shalhoume |

Assuming the dwarf is game and doesn't just lock her up again for her mouthiness, she picks a dart and throws it.
Dart!: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 = 24I'm assuming we're within 30 ft, take off 1 if not

![]() |

Arm Wrestling: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 win +5gp
Drinking: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 win +5gp
Belching: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 loss: 1gp
Darts: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 loss: 3gp
Wrestling: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 loss: 3gp
I won 3 gold!

Crystal Shalhoume |

Satisfying herself with the slightly lessened loss of coin, Crystal nods to the other group before heading off into the City to plot some fair deeds of which the bards will sing for eternity. (Just kidding. She wants to kill you and take your stuff.)
