Tug turns toward Ken, and opens his eyes (the only part of him not covered in goblin) .. "THAT! .. was quite a hit!! Hooo boy!" Tug grimaces as he pulls the arrow out his shoulder. He responds to Ken's offer "Ayep .. I could use a bit, if yer gods deem ta smile on me ugly mug!" He then goes about looking for something to wipe off the goblin gore.

Using one of the many fallen goblins to clean his blade. Thanks for the help. Jonas takes a moment to catch his breath while looking and listening to determine if there are any other obvious signs of more enemies about or villagers in need of assistance. Move action to use perception if I do not hear or see anything of importance will see about getting the fire under control if it poses a threat to the village. Speaking of the fire what is burning?

The fires seem to me generally contained, and several citizens are actively moving to stop the spread now that the goblins are gone from the area.

After Tug's blow finished the last of the goblins in your area, Jonas hears the sound of a scream and a frantic barking comes from the north.

Everything you see is still going on 10, as you get closer you will see a dog protecting a man from the goblins. One of the goblins appears to be riding a dog of some sort himself

are we still in combat? if so Ken will move in the general direction of any seen combatants (I think he has 4 rounds of being enlarged left after this one, it'd be a shame to let them go to waste :P)

Etohya remains with the group, not wanting to run off by herself just yet. She casts virtue again, touching one of the gore-free parts of the injured dwarf. (1 temporary hp to Tug!)

She then speaks to the group in her Shoanti accent, "Sounds like there are more. You all fight well... I'm not as well-suited for combat. We will follow you!" Kirri caws in agreement.

Male Human Magus 1

It sounds like we aren't done yet. I can hear fighting to the north. Jonas points in the general direction of the fighting and starts to move. make my remaining action to move 30 feet. Jonas stops and turns to the others to make sure they are following. If we stick together I am sure that we can push these boot lickers out of here.

The mounted goblin charges the dog

Yup - Etohya was waiting for the others to move.

Seeing her newfound companions move to confront the goblins, Etohya and Kirri follow the group. (Double move)

Male Human Magus 1

Not certain but I think its Tug's turn? In case your waiting on me I will do my move. Jonas runs ahead and when he realizes the dire situation the man is in he steps out of the way of the others following close behind him and begins to cast the last of his more complicated spells. The words slip from his tongue and his free hand forms the complex sigils in the air as a thin layer of slippery grease appears under the goblins feet. Use move action to position myself then standard action to cast Grease (DC 14).

With the spell cast Jonas speaks out in a deep and forceful tone using the barbaric goblin tongue:
I will make you pay for killing the dog!

The town guard rushes forward from the south as he is saying all of this, and with the goblins fleeing the fire brigade seems now able to get things under control.

The Sheriff sends his men north after the goblins to secure the gates and defenses against a counter attack, but says he believed the goblins are on the run, not regrouping.

Aldern is distracted but sheriff Hemlocke overhears your comment and responds. "Goblins generally are only a problem outside of the city, and never in groups this large. Only time they usually come close to town is to steal trash from Junker's Edge. The tribes are usually to busy fighting with each other to mount anything like this."

female half-elf druid 2

Kirri puffs out his stomach and spreads his wings in a defensive posture in response to Foxglove's fowardness. Etohya just laughs, "Oh, settle down, father. This is probably just how city-people act. I will go to the Rusty Dragon for this feast. I am Etohya, by the way, of the Shriikirri-Quah. This," she pets the hawk (who has calmed down, but still stares at Aldern), "is Kirri-Burkesh."

Dwarven Inquisitor 2

"Hmm Etohya, good fighting with you .. and the rest of ya. I'm Tug .. Milkbeard." He says his surname with reverence, then looks at the bird with narrowed eyes and mutters ".. uhh heh .. good job to you to birdy." He walks to the Rusty Dragon with the others wondering if Etohya knows how to say "this kill is mine, bugger off." in bird..

Liberty's Edge

Aldern smiles at Etohya, ignoring everyone else "Etoyha, what a beautiful name...of course that isn't surprising considering how beautiful the owner of that name is. Let us away to the Rusty Dragon, I will set up a tab for you and each of your friends. 50 gold each should suffice to cover expenses. It is a bit rustic for my tastes, but I must admit that Ameiko's food is as good as any I've had in Magnimar. Perhaps tomorrow you would be interested in accompanying me on a Boar Hunt. Your friends are welcome as well, of course. With all this goblin business, safety in numbers you know."

He leads you all toward the Inn. The Inn Sandpoint’s oldest, notable for the impressive (and quite rusty) iron dragon that looms on the building’s roof, doubling as a lightning rod and decoration.

Male Human Magus 1

Jonas ponders the sheriffs words. It would seem something is applying pressure to make them change their normal habits. Maybe a lack of food or a larger threat has moved in to their normal haunts. But enough dwelling on such things it is time to celebrate. Jonas turns to the party at large Its time to raise a mug to comrades lost and to new ones found. It was a pleasure fighting at your side Tug, Etohya and you as well my large friend. I would enjoy sharing a bite to eat and a mug of ale with you.

Sheriff Hemlocke says "Perhaps. I'm more concerned with how organized they were. That isn't something you see out of goblins. We managed to grab one, he's pretty hurt but we think he'll live. I hate to be so forward, but my men told me some of the locals heard you speaking in what sounded like their tongue. Would you mind stopping by the Sheriff's office in the morning to help conduct an interrogation?"

Male Human Magus 1

I don't mind having a nice long talk with the little squeaker.

Liberty's Edge

Sheriff Hemlocke smiles "Thank you. I have a friend who knows the goblins tongue and the goblins of this area well, but she won't be returning to town until tomorrow night at the earliest. I also welcome all of you to come see me if you are interested in work. I plan to increase the guard, but there are only so man able fighters in a small town like this. Obviously you all can hold your own. Meet me first thing in the morning and we'll have a chat with our little friend." he nods "I am needed elsewhere, need to make sure the men get us through the night in case they are regrouping, and to make sure we have cleared the town. Tell Ameiko I will have to miss the celebration, and to save a plate for me."

Male Human Magus 1

If you need help you know where I'll be. I just reread the knowledge skill rules and it says that DC 10 skill checks are possible untrained for the knowledge skill and that common creatures like goblins are a DC 5 plus CR. As you arrive at the Rusty Dragon, the inn is full, but far from festive. Most of the guests seem very much on edge, and several jump and when the door opens and you enter.

Seemingly oblivious to everyone elses edginess, Aldern steps boldly to the bar shouting "A round of your best for the heroes of Sandpoint, slayers of the goblin invaders! Ameiko, we need a song fit for these heroes who saved my life, what say you." Aldern reaches into his coinpurse and lays a sizeable stack on the counter "None of my friends shall pay for a thing this evening."

The barkeep, a beautiful Tian seems annoyed by the Noble's brash pronouncement, but takes his coin. "Perhaps I'll sing later Aldern, but I don't think anyone is up for celebration with so much blood spilled so recently."

Spoiler:

Owned and operated for the past six years by the lovely and popular Ameiko Kaijitsu, the Rusty Dragon is not only one of the town’s most popular eateries (made so, in large part, by the spicy and exotic food served here), but also a great place to meet visitors from out of town, since most newcomers to Sandpoint come upon this inn first, the north Lost Coast Road being less traveled. It certainly doesn’t hurt that Ameiko’s exotic
beauty is more than matched by her skill at music, and few are the evenings that pass without at least two or three songs by the talented
woman.

Dwarven Inquisitor 2

"Mmm pretty girl .. pretty scrawny. Nice to look at but when the lights go out 'bout as hot as sharin a bed with a few broomsticks, eh?" Tug looks around the room .. sad and frightened people. "How about a limerick?
Thar once was a goblin named Boris,
He decided to leave the fores ..t
Fire and smoke he made
and he bloodied his blade
But he .. um something that rhymes with Boris ..
" Tug senses he might be losing the crowd and sits. humans.. how can a people that has birthed so many heroes have hearts so easily smooshed? ..

female half-elf druid 2

Etohya is mostly curious as she enters the tavern. She's only spent a small amount of time in towns and villages, and has only peeked in other taverns. Kirri flies from her shoulder beforehand, preferring the freedom of the sky to the confined interior of a building.

"Thank you, Aldern, but perhaps... Ameiko?... is right." She speaks the Tian name slowly, unaccustomed to the pronunciation. "Even after winning a battle, one should spend time reflecting on the deaths on both sides."

Male Human Magus 1

Having spent many years within one tavern or another Jonas enters the Rusty Dragon confidently and takes a moment to take in his surroundings and the mood of the people within. When he hears Aldern speak he shakes his head at the lack of empathy he is showing but not wanting to upset the man or cause a stir attempts to smooth things over.
Aldern may have a point he is speaking as a man who has narrowly escaped death and wishes to celebrate his good fortune. A song may raise these gentle peoples spirits and give them something to think about other then the blood spilled. I am sure that you can think of something that is uplifting without being bawdy. My own people sometimes sing the dead to the after life. Such songs honor those we have lost and can bring comfort to those left behind.

Dwarven Inquisitor 2

Tug reddens a bit .. mouth shut, mind open Tug he thinks to himself. Eager to change the subject he tries his hand at small talk. "Soo my comrades in battle, how did yuh come to find yourselves here today? .. I mean the festival.. not the tavern I was here for that part.."

female half-elf druid 2

"I journeyed here from my home in the Churlwood to the north. Most in my community are content with staying in the forest, but I enjoyed venturing out to other places... they told me my father's blood made me restless. I've been to Galduria a few times, but wanted to see what a festival was like in a bigger city like this." Etohya frowns, "Shame things turned out the way they did..."

She turns to Tug, "What about you? I've only heard stories of your kind. Is it true you live in caverns filled with gold and gems?"

Liberty's Edge

Ameiko nods toward Jonas. "The people of this land have more than a few sorrows, and the songs that go with them. Perhaps later tonight when we will sing them together as comfort, but not now friend. Not while people are still shaking with fear and jumping at shadows and looking for loved ones. Give it a few hours."

Ameiko turns toward Aldren, speaking with a subtle but unmistakable contempt "Speaking of which, shouldn't you be checking on your wife"

On hearing this Aldern freezes, going pale "Yes...my wife...perhaps I should...I must be off...take care of my friends with my tab, I should make my way home..."

Aldern leaves a few more coins on the bar and leaves without speaking, but glancing longingly at Etoyha.

Dwarven Inquisitor 2

Answering Etohya "Aye, some do .. I'm from Janderhoff meself. Perform funeral rites .. well not me personally .. they took job that away from me. But Magrim .. Magrim has stayed with me. Guess I had some of that restlessness too. Was here to put on a show with me brother's mates but they didn't come .. Lived in the woods, eh? Ever wrestle a bear? Ah now that is something I would like to do!"
Tug quiets down and listens to Aldern and Ameiko's exchange.. "Ooo someone is going to get an earful .. Ha! Good day to you sir. May your feet find steady ground beneath you, lad."

Liberty's Edge

The evening proceeds somewhat solemnly. Ameiko does perform a few time as the throughout the evening, but the songs have a somewhat dirgelike tone as opposed to the festive feel of the day leading up to the goblin attack.

All is quiet as you go to sleep, Aldern provided for a 50 gold tab prior to his sudden departure as promises, as so you each have rooms for the night and all meals provided. In the morning while you are eating breakfest, a guard appears and asks if you are ready to aid in the interrogation.
