Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil says, "Let's shoot and flatten as many as we can, and if it looks like they'll starting to get free, I'll burn the whole lot of 'em.... unless someone's got some oil?"
Crossbow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8 (Hatred) wooosh! Can't even shoot fish in a barrel!

Aéron Skáh |

If there is a Goblin in front of me still that is alive, I will swing my large hammer into it. If not I will wait until one comes into range and then attack it.
"Crusher" Attack : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
"Crusher" Damage : 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8

Unalaq |

Unalaq readies a swing for the first goblin to come into range.
Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage 2d8 + 9 ⇒ (3, 2) + 9 = 14

Fernus Stonecall |

Fernus looks on to the goblins and sees the one that is hurt by Tarin's arrow. Noticing a chance to try out his new spell, he takes it.
Conjuring up two blueish-silver rocks the size of his fist he sends one toward the goblin and another to a goblin close to it, evading anyone or anything that is in their way.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 51d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
I always flavour my spells if possible.

Garrik Korianthil |

Garrik takes aim at another goblin toward the back of the pack.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Confirm?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Extra Damage: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil smiles as the plan for stopping the small hoarde of goblins seems to have worked, reloading and raising his crossbow again, seeking a target that looks like it might be close to freeing itself.
"So, that's a no to the oil then?," he asks, as he settles his aim on a goblin toward the middle of the pack and looses his bolt.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 = 20 (hatred) for 1d6 ⇒ 6

Aéron Skáh |

I continue to hold my readied action. I grin as I hear Tarin, "Don't think ya need ta use it."

Garrik Korianthil |

Rinse and Repeat...
Garrik takes aim at another goblin toward the back of the pack.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Aéron Skáh |

I still continue to hold until a Goblin is able to approach, "Good shootin' Garrik, ya're good with that bow aren't ya?" I then sigh as I see his next shot go very wide.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil chuckles at Aéron's comment as he reloades, "I suppose bolts are cheaper... just thought it might be quicker. Still, you may be right. It would be a shame to waste all our good stuff before we even get in the door."
Crossbow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21 for 1d6 ⇒ 2

Fernus Stonecall |

Fernus looks up to the rest and halts for a moment with his next spell.
"Sick and hurt? I wonder how that came to be."
He hesitates with firing off another of his magical rocks at the goblins.

Draken Shar Black |

"They are goblins who would eat your dog and your own flesh if given the chance." Draken hisses out.

Fernus Stonecall |

Though still with doubt in his mind, Fernus fires off two more missiles, bounding for the same goblin Tarin hit.
Magic Missle: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 51d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil snarls in agreement with Draken, old racial hatreds dying hard, yanking back the staff of the crossbow. He begins to ready a bolt, but then sees Fernus' concern and softens slightly, "Might be worth sparing one or two to talk to.... and we're probably better to not wasting any more magic, Fernus...."

Unalaq |

"Why are you sick and hurt? We've seen the destruction you've brought to the town below. Your words sound like trickery. Speak now if you would be spared."
Diplomacy 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

Draken Shar Black |

Draken goes and hides in his pocket. Looking rather unhappy before securing the top the best he can.

Fernus Stonecall |

Fernus feels very sorry for them and looks up pretty unhappy at the others.
"Are you sure these are the same kind of goblins that attacked our town? They look so... pathetic." He says softly to the others.

Aéron Skáh |

I stay in position, hammer raised, not moving and letting the other do all the talking and deciding of what should happen. However If any of the Goblins come at me in a threatening manner then I shall swing my hammer.
Continue to hold my readied action.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil raises his crossbow and says, in goblin, "Tell us everything about Thistletop and what's inside, and we'll stop shooting if you promise to run away and not come back."

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil snarls (in goblin), "And what did he say about it, then? I have many more bolts and if you can't tell me anything useful...", he shrugs and starts lifting the crossbow again.

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil says, in Goblin, "I'll ask, but if you can't even tell us how many goblins and longshanks are in there, I'm not sure they'll agree to letting you go..."
He shrugs, and then says, in Common to his companions, "They don't know much, except that there's a mean longshanks.... I imagine it might be this Nualia... So.... do we let them go? They say they won't hurt anything -- but they're goblins -- as soon as we're out of sight and mind, they'll go back to their usual ways.... and no, I haven't promised them anything."

Unalaq |

"They have surrendered. We cannot kill them. There are other goblin tribes not aligned with those here. I think we should send them to one of them. Perhaps that tribe that picks the garbage or lives in the Brinestump Marsh?"

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil sighs, Didn't realize they spoke Common... that's less useful.... He snarls at the goblins (in goblin), "Go away from here -- away from Thistletop and away from Sandpoint. If we see any of you again, we'll kill you without mercy.... slowly."

Fernus Stonecall |

Fernus stands gazing at the fleeing goblins, still feeling very sorry for them and the way they attacked them.
Maybe they would have attacked us given the chance, but they don't appear to be that hostile. Perhaps some goblin tribes suffer from the actions of the other tribes.
Fernus sighs as the last goblin goes out of sight, then turns to the others.
"Shall we head on? If we meet any more goblins without 'longshanks' will we talk with them first?"

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil shakes his head, "We're trying to raid what we're told is a goblin fortress. Giving away the element of surprise is not wise... and, again, they are goblins. If they came upon us unawares, they'd be more than happy to eat us. Do not let their cowardice give way to misplaced mercy."
He says, "I'll sneak ahead again. Wait here.", and begins sneaking forward using the bushes for cover.
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33 Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Unalaq |

Unalaq cleans his sword and listens for trouble from the direction that Tarin headed, ready to charge forward if the gnome gets into trouble.
Perception 1d20 ⇒ 12

MiniGM |

Tarin moves forward, and waives everyone else forward as well
to the south there is
A glittering grotto sparkles here, its walls
dripping with moisture and alive with sea urchins,
anemones, and other tidal life. The cave's roof
rises to a natural dome ten feet above the water
where a five-foot-wide chimney rises through the
roof in a shaft. The waters here are less choppy,
but they are far from still. A five-foot-wide,
fifteen-foot-long ledge sits just above the water
level to the south.
it seems you could enter the cave if you wanted

Unalaq |

Unalaq moves forward and looks around to see what Tarin has found.
Perception 1d20 ⇒ 6
"Let's move into the cave and see if we can find a way in. Otherwise, we'll need to go back up into that thicket. If nothing else, we can determine if it is a safe location to rest if we need to withdraw from Thistletop."

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil nods, "Always better to sneak in the back door, I think."

Unalaq |

So, does it look like we'd have to swim across a pool to reach someplace where there might be an entrance or do we see a potential underwater entrance? Unalaq might be willing to try working across a pool, possibly with rope assistance, but anything requiring going underwater is not something he's going to be a big fan of.

Unalaq |

"Tarin, I don't see an opening and it looks like we'll have to swim to go further. I'm a fair swimmer if I remove my armor. So, if you all would like to swim through, I will join you, but I think I would prefer to return to where we were exploring before."

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil shrugs, "I see your point, but I suspect that even goblins will have their spears, er, dogslicers, facing the front door. I'd rather get water than blood on me -- at least, my own blood."

Fernus Stonecall |

Fernus looks down to the water below and gulps. "Give me a dark cave anyday over a swim. I prefer to have a chance to fight even if I'm a bad fighter, I'm a far worse swimmer."

Tarinhilliberanavius |

Tarinhil shrugs and says, "Since there seems to be opposition, I'll go look at what's waiting for us at the front door. We can always come back, after all."
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21 and Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Aéron Skáh |

Sorry, for some reason this and another thread of mine don't show the new posts, it's getting rather annoying!
I say nothing as the Goblin's flee, if one were to look closely it could look like I pity them. Following everyone we come to the water, "I've dunna tad swimmin' if ya all want ta go this way, then I'm good with that." I watch Tarin go off in front, watching carefully.

Unalaq |

Unalaq follows Tarin at a safe distance and waits for a sign to move forward, again listening to hear if the gnome runs into trouble.
